Physical Features: Hajime is a very tall man with an imposing stature- a body truly befitting of the famously sturdy and resilient Senju. Standing above most like a sentinel with a firm posture, his body is muscular and honed for battle. Something about him however seems very stiff- unbending. His presence is uncomfortable as a result- almost alien and void of the warmth humans seek in social interaction.

Hajime's light-brown eyes were once light and filled with spirit, but now are dead and seem to stare right past people. His eyes are heavy and massive bags are beneath his crazed gaze. His smile is of the sickest kind- the man's expression often that of pure lunacy. His extremely long and wild black hair flows down to his knees, uncut and adding to this "crazed lunatic" look. His nails are unkempt, not sickly long, but long enough to be noticed.
  • Notable Features: Like all Senju he carries a smell reminiscent of forests, but something darker... burnt forests. Beneath his armor the majority of his body is scarred from horrific burns after a battle with the ANBU shinobi who tried to burn him..
Clothing/Accessories: Hajime wears a black ANBU top and bottoms- it is well worn and from his days as a villager. Above that, he wears black wood-lacquer armor in the form of a breastplate and a skirt. His shoulders, arms, and shins are also plated in banded petrified wood for hard, resilient defense.
Personality: Hajime's Will of Fire burnt brighter and hotter than anyone in the village. At his core, Hajime has a one track mind. He is blind to anything but the current cause he fights for, and a point that was Konoha nationalism. Obsessed with furthering the village, unlike the majority of the Senju, he was dedicated to protecting the village above all costs. Morals meant very little for the sake of the village. With no qualms he slaughtered an orphanage after the children overheard his and other ANBU member's conversations. Unwilling to face tribunal for his actions, the ANBU tried to burn him. Failing to kill him, this flipped a switch for the man. The village he had given everything too had betrayed him and his obsession quickly soured to something far more sinister. Riding upon a new cause, he will do anything to achieve his goal: destroy Konoha, and after it, the world of man.

The Shadow King himself is the most powerful spirit, having taken control of those beneath him completely. A truly unique element, Moktuon users create life in the form of trees. Even after their jutsu is done, these trees continue to live and grow aided by the high density of chakra in them. This gives Mokuton the growth effect, which uses the residual chakra in mokuton jutsu to rapidly speed up the natural growth process for a limited time after creation, causing the jutsu to gain +2 strength per post for an amount of posts after creation depending on the rank of the jutsu.

  • Ishikaki (Petrified Wood): By using a higher ration of Doton chakra, Hajime can create Ishikaki (Petrified Wood), a modified Mokuton. This functions like Mokuton and shares the Growth passive, but is stone like nature, makes it resilient against Katon. Instead, Petrified Wood is weak to Raiton
  • Koboku (Dead Wood): A unique permutation of Mokuton, Koboku (Dead Wood) is a rotten, diseased form of Mokuton. Rather than carrying the Growth passive of Mokuton, Dead Wood carries a "decay" passive.

    Dead Wood carry a contagious "rot", which spreads not only from the trees but it's roots in the ground. Even after the jutsu is done, the roots continue to grow and spread rot. which eats the chakra of things near by. This gives Dead Wood the passive of decay which eats on chakra in the area at a rate of -1 stamina per post and spreads decay for a limited time after creation at a rate depending on the rank of the jutsu. Hajime is immune to this effect.

After the appropriate hand seals, Hajime will reach out and touch the targets face or eyes, throwing chakra over them. This chakra will act as though it were solid, rendering the target blind for up to 4 posts.

The base technique for summoning, the Spiritualism Technique allows users to bring forth their summons to fight on their behalf. Once an agreement has been made between the user and their summon, they will be able to use this technique to call upon it at any time unless stated otherwise. The chakra used for this technique varies, as it is dependent on the size and rank of what is being summoned. Once it has been summoned, the user will experience a constant drain on their chakra for as long as the summon is in place. This drain is also dependent on the size and rank of the summon.

By closing their palm and performing the correct hand seals with the other, the user can create one small leaf, around 2 cm in diameter. Once this has been done, they will place the leaf on their desired target. The user can track the exact location of the leaf for up to 7 meters. For up to 20 meters out, the user can track a rough location. From then out to 100 meters, the user just gets a general idea of where their target is. The chakra in the leaf will dissipate at the end of 6 posts.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will form a set of up to 10 wooden basic projectiles, such as kunai, shuriken, or senbon, in their hand. These tools have a strength of 5.

By closing their palm and performing the correct hand seals with the other, the user can create 1 seed closely resembling a walnut with a 4cm diameter. These seed is filled with chakra and has enough energy to detonate with a force of a D-Rank Explosion. The user can detonate seed via kai, but if not detonated within 3 posts, it loses it's potency.

Mokuton • Sprouting Roots

By performing the correct hand seals, the user will cause a root to sprout out of the ground at their feet before lashing out at a target's feet up to 7 meters away at a speed of 6. If successful, the root will pull their feet out from under them at a strength of 4 and attempt to rapidly drag them back towards the user. If the targets strength is higher, the technique will fail. The roots will keep their hold on the opponent if not broken.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user causes several pillars of wood to emerge from the ground on each side of themselves. These pillars then bend and meet halfway locking together and creating a half-dome in front of the user (and underground) at a speed of 10. This half dome has a 4 meter radius and has a durability of 10 strength.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user causes a large 2x2x2 meter beam of wood to emerge from the ground within 15 meters of themselves at a speed of 10 and strength of 10. Targets unable to get out of the way of the pillar will be hit by it, and those with less then 10 strength will be launched into the air.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user focuses on an already existing source of their Mokuton, causing a wooden mallet with a meter diameter to grow out of it and move at a speed of 8, up to 6 meters away from the source into a target. If it successfully hits a target, it does so with 12 strength.

After performing a series of hand seals, the user focuses on a target or group of targets within 20 meters and causes wooden beams to emerge from the ground around them at a speed of 20. These beams connect overhead and underground, forming a roof and bars with about two inches of space between them. It has a durability of 20 and can be as large as 6x6x6 meters.

After the correct hand seals, the user may touch any mokuton structure made of their chakra within the next 3 posts. Upon doing so, they will then cause the structure to explode outward from where they are (so that they remain safe) with a B-Rank Explosive force. This process usually sends massive splinters and bits of wood everywhere in front of them, making it a doubly lethal technique.

By performing the correct hand seals, the user of causes several waves of petrified wood to grow out of their arm, forming a 1.5 meters long, 8cm width blade of petrified wood to form, then a handle. The blade is sharp and it basically a sword. The sword has a strength of 6 and forms at a speed of 4.

By performing the correct hand seals, and touching both wrists of an opponent, Hajime will rapidly cause Petrified Wood to grow and encase the opponents wrists and hands, completely restricting the ability to move the hands and acting as a handcuffs plus. This bind has a strength of 10.

By performing the correct hand seals and touching the ground, Hajime plants a seed in the ground that will grow into a small sapling, then continue to grow into a tree at a rate along side it's passive. The tree has a strength of 5 and by the final post, it's size is roughly 5 meters tall, it's roots penetrate the ground in a 7 meter radius, and it's canopy juts out with a 5 meter radius.

By performing the correct hand seals and then closing and opening his hand, Hajime produces a seed similar in size to a sunflower seed. Should this seed or it's parts come into contact with moisture, it will become active and begin to release the Kobuku passive. This is mainly used for embedding seeds in people's food or drinks and slowly taking out unsuspecting targets.

By performing the correct hand seals and touching a Koboku creation, Hajime will channel his chakra into it, focusing on the structure and reinforcing it to a strength equal to his control as long as he continues to maintain physical contact and channel chakra into it. The roots will attempt to grab hold of the opponents feet and hands, then will begin to pull in opposite directions on each at a strength of 10, stopping once tension is reach and the target is held up in the air, drawn by each limb.

By performing the correct hand seals and then closing and opening his hand, Hajime produces a sharp root, roughly 2 meter long root, similar to a spear. Each end is tapered and sharp. This root has a strength of 20 and can be used to cut up or impale targets. During it's passive duration, the Dark Root Spear will continue to grow as it's tapered end splits, becoming numerous sharp branches twisting in every direction. It grows at a rate of 20cm per post, following the duration of Koboku's passive.

By performing the correct hand seals and then planting his feet, Hajime causes hundreds of sharp, twisted roots to shoot up out of the ground up to 50 meters away at a speed of 20. The roots will twist and twirl and intertwine, forming a thicket and a 2-meter radius sphere around the target, trapping the target inside. The roots are sharp and pointed, like rose bushes, making taijutsu potentially dangerous, though the roots thimselves only have a strength of 20.

By performing the correct hand seals and then planting his feet, Hajime causes a large tree to rise out of the ground. The wicked and dead tree reaches a height of 30 meters, it's trunk 3 meters in diameter and it's canopy and roots having a 30 meter diameter as-well. The tree, while rooted in one position, is semi-sentient and can move it's branches and roots. It has the following stats and is incapable of performing jutsu.

Hajime has spent a considerable amount of time mastering his bodies speed and strength, as-well the timing and precision so that he may seamlessly over-leap strikes aimed at his legs, while also maintaining the flexibility to adjust and defend himself while airbourne.

A move meant to tax the space an opponent unintentionally makes while withdrawing their weapon or limb from a parry. As the opponent pulls back, usually from a bind, Hajime follows it with his sword, shield, or limb, etc in effect causing the opponent to pull his strike into themselves. This simple move is surprisingly powerful at catching opponents off guard, and in the case of those parrying with weapons, often can cause them to drop their weapon or lose control of it temporarily.

Hajime utilizes the differences in blades, materials, and angles to offensively take over a parry. Starting from a bind/parry position, Hajime rotates and slides his weapon's blade downward while applying forward force. At the same time, he rotates his shoulders and upper arms to push the opponents blade up and away with this power, and upon hitting the hilt of the blade, rotates their blade and pulls away slightly. Performed in one fluid motion, this allows him to slip past the hilt and slash at the hand. This technique is generally effective against staves, axes, katana, or weapons with small-hilts, however loses more effectiveness against blades with large hilts, unless it can cut through the hilt...

Hajime has spent considerable time training both sides of his body to be used in tandem to the utmost of their capabilities. In short, this means he is capable of using both sides of his body as if they were his dominant side, in short ambidextrous but not limited to just his hands but his legs and general locomotion.

Hajime will rush forward and leap towards his opponent, throwing his full weight at them in a tackle/takedown If they are off-kilter this is especially effective. If successful, he'll use his the force of his action to knock the opponent to the ground then position himself on top of them to finish the with a strike from a blade or weapon.

Hajime will make use of the bodies natural counterweights to step heavily into his hits, slightly launching himself forward with each strike, weather slamming something away with a shield or slashing with his sword. From this stance, he is able to raise the sheer power of his movements. While not providing an actual stat bonus, in battles of evenly matched or closely matched strengths, this can give Hajime the winning edge or allow him to be on par.

B-Rank Maneuver Taijutsu
The user of this technique dashes to an opponent, pivoting on their foot and spreading their arms far apart, in a spinning movement that builds a tremendous amount of torque. The end result is the user releases the torque of their body so that both blades simultaneously strike at two places that are difficult to defend against with one, average length blade. However, that in of itself is a simple move. The true strength of this move comes in the fact that while dashing to strike their opponent, the user generates an amount of force from their blades. This force is like a blast of wind, about the size of his body, released in-between his striking blades at a strength of 2/3rds his [Strength + Speed]/2. This acts as a shield for him on his strike, but also ensures that even if both his blades are blocked he is able to pummel and strike the opponent, a truly surprising technique for most. The range is only about a 2 meter radius, just his immediate area.

By taking a wide footed stance, each foot shoulder-length apart, Hajime will put himself in a stance that is in-conducive to moving fast (-9 Speed) however allows him to focus a tremendous amount of energy and strength into his upper body, allowing him to make abnormally potent movements with his upper body. (+9 Strength)

Born to the historically noble Senju family, Hajime's grandfather was the clan leader at a point, however Hajime's father was the 8th born, making him a branch family member. Hajime is the first-born with in his own family, and the only child as his mother died in childbirth, but in his position, he could not have been born further from the limelight. Hajime's father, Kobuki, was a powerful Senju and despite being the eighth born son, was still notable in the clan up until his death at the age of 45, when Hajime was roughly 9 years old. Kobuki died on a mission. To prevent enemy shinobi from capturing his body, he activated tags to incinerate himself, so there was never a proper funeral.

From an early age, Hajime showed repetitive behaviour, and seem to become obsessed with specific toys or games, unable to change his ways without excessive force. Ultimately, this coupled with his fathers death would lead Hajime to form an obsession on "protecting" the village. As such, even before the academy entrance he trained diligently to be a perfect vessel to the village.

In the academy, Hajime was an above average student and had little to no troubles in his studies besides Genjutsu. Capable of using Mokuton early on, his inheritance gave him an edge against his peers and helped him stay above average in the class's curve. For most Senju, generally making Genin by the minimum age of 12 was considered the norm, and as expected, Hajime was able to graduate the academy at said age. His genin placement was on a team overseen by an Aburame- an Aburame who had also been a prominent ANBU member.

Sometime during this time period, Hajime attempted the Chuunin exams with his squad and lost due to the actions of another team in the first stage- a team that now holds the current Hokage, Takeo. As such, Hajime formed a deep resentment for the man. Regardless, the Aburame helped mold Hajime and his team members into fine shinobi, building their skills to make them prime candidates for the ANBU.

Hajime primarily focused on using his Mokuton to build defensive positions and to ensnare and trap opponents. An offensive support, of sorts. Likewise, prior to the 2nd Chuunin exam, after his loss to a Katon user he worked tirelessly with the help of Senju Shou and other members to play with Mokuton, his clan's release. Eventually, he was able to get a grasp over the ratios of Doton and Suiton chakra and push it slightly off, creating a wood that was almost stone like. Rich in minerals, the mixture became very hard and fire-resistant, though weak to lightning.

In the next Chuunin exam this adaption allowed him to suffer no issues when fighting Katon users, and him and his team were able to successfully make it to the next round. After all three were done, Hajime had come out in the top 10 genin of the year, allowing him to progress to Chuunin. At this point, he was inducted into the ANBU underneath his Aburame teacher, alongside his teammates, forming a new platoon.

The platoons main duty was asset protection for the village. Vaguely stated, it meant a whole lot of things. Assets could be important people, weapons, or even images, ideas, or ideals that needed to be protected. Whatever the village didn't want out, or didn't want in, they made it so. A sometimes bloody job, things went well and for the better part of the next ten years, Hajime had no issues. After having been promoted to Special jounin at 18, he even gained his own squad.

Fast forward and around the age of 30, Hajime had been deployed with an ANBU squad to a remote area in Fire Country with the duty of protecting a premier. When the location of the premier was overheard by children in a nearby orphanage, Hajime made what, for him, was a simple decision. The premier was an essential asset of the village, and his safety paramount. Children talked. Hajime massacred the entire orphanage and forced his squad to participate. This was an unforgivable act, even for the ANBU.

Leading up to the conference the premier would attend, Hajime was marked to be burned. In the night, the rest of his squad, a man with wolves, and others came to kill him. Waking he fought them off, killing 3 of his subordinates and wounding one of his squad mates. Unfortunately, the katon user held overwhelming power and Hajime was barely able to fend him off. Severely burned and wounded, Hajime was able to get a hold of the mysterious Katon user before fleeing into the dark forests of the night.

From there, he was marked a missing ninja, and from there, his obsession transformed. Normal ninja were indoctrinated into a village, but Hajime was unstable- he had been obsessed. Unfortunately, as was usually the case with obsession, when an obsession soured, the true broken mental state of an individual showed.

His obsession warped to taking revenge on Konoha. For nearly the past decade, he has recuperated and been amassing power, preparing to take down Konoha, than the other ninja villages, then the world.

Personality: When not forced into submission by Hajime's synch, one of the spirits will rise to the top and dominate the rest, changing the personality to whatever the wisp's personality is. Personalities are very basic supersets of human emotions, like michevious or curious.

The Shadow King is an oddity- a swarm of many small black spirits that form together an often take the form of one being. The Shadow King has an advanced telepathy potential enable the being when as one to cast Genjutsu. Potential ages old, little is known about the swarm but legends often spoke of the weak little spirits who would trick those lost in the forest into it's trap... and leave nothing but squeaky clean bones when it was finished with the lost. In the legendary cannon, this added yet another spirit to their army.

During his reclusive time after departing from the village, Hajime came into contact with The Shadow King in the forest of Tea Country. Utilizing his dead wood he was able to deplete their stamina, bringing them to a halt and protecting himself from their powers. Slowly, he eased off and studied them, at one point noticing that one spirit was able to take control of the others- as if it lead the swarm. After observing this phenomena, Hajime came to understand that one spirit would "bubble" to the top, and if he could replicate that, he too could take control of the swarm in a similar manner, exerting his power over the group to warp them to his will, much as the spirits tended to do to each other.

In doing so, Hajime made The Shadow King is pawn. Since then, he has used The Shadow King to commit murder without ever showing his hand, and for many other dark deeds.
