Fukusha, Touma

"My path. My Way. THAT is my creed."
phpBB [video]

General Information Age: 27
Gender: Male
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 128lbs
Physical Features:
Touma is athletically toned with a lightweight, skinny body but well defined muscles with clear abs and perfectly structured jaw.
He also still manages to appear pristine and beautiful despite the rough raiding based life in the Fukusha past, using oils and other such things to maintain his good looks with his majestic mane of black hair curving along his perfect facial features and complementing his dazzling black eyes.
Touma keeps a part of his hair longer than the rest in a prideful manner, braiding it together and threading it through golden hair jewellery on the right side of his face where it grows ever longer.
There is one blemish upon Touma's body and that would be a scar running down the side of his stomach and cutting across into the lower left ab, something he both hates but could not bare to remove.
Clothing/Accessories:
Touma usually wears a simple, sleeveless, dark grey shirt with a grainy green spread across his chest and upper back with it wrapping round at the collarbone and below the ribs leaving the stomach area clear.
The cross has a simple helical design running along the lower left portion and also reveals a red rim to the collar of the shirt.
He also wears hakama style black pants with a fancy criss-crossing lace across red fabric at the waist that pulls them tight, of which the red fabric has an outer layer that curved around the back of the pelvis area with an intricate flame design along the right side with the Fukusha clan symbol underlaid beneath.
These hakama style pants are tucked and bound by his black and red boots, with the upper red part appearing similar to a shin guard that reaches halfway up that ties with lace that forms a cross shape.
This creates and overall puffier look to the pants as they seem to bloom from the boots.
Touma also usually wears full length arm guard like black glove on his left arm and a three-quarter length black glove on his right arm.
The left glove has an intricate flame design running down to the just past the elbow with the Fukusha clan symbol underlaid beneath.
The right glove is simple but is bound by a red wrist guard and red fabric and lace around his bicep, plus a red shoulder guard that is threading to the left glove across the front and back in a cross shape.

Personality:
  • General:
Touma can be quite strong willed and always aims to find his own way and forge his path no matter the possible consequences, sometimes pushing himself into some dangerous situations if he thinks he can handle them.
Though he has learned not to throw away his life too willingly, remaining cautious and strategic of such possible dangers and would gladly accept the aid of others to reach his goals.

Touma also has a large sense of adventure as he loves to travel to many different places and maintain a nomadic lifestyle, which he had fought to get back to and escape from the new clutches of Iwagakure.

That being said it can sometimes be a bit difficult to get him to settle on another's path, with their two idles needing to strongly align or a good enough argument to twist his own thoughts on something which can make him appear kind of stubborn.

Though not generally a dirty man he can sometimes lean into tricking others into doing as he wishes and getting what his way, perhaps even using genjutsu to direct others if he has to but generally he would simply argue that he is right and only go so far if they where truly unwavering and possibly evil.

Touma can become quite passionate when it comes to forging his path in life and can get really into something that has sparked his interest, as a result he may become pushy as he aims for such goals and that is when his stubbornness truly shines through and when he truly wishes to do things his way.

He can also be quite charming and intriguing, pulling others in like a dazzling star that people can easily become enamoured with which makes things easier to get things he wants and probably part of the problem with his stubbornness and people not willing to say no to him.
  • Hopes/Dreams: Touma's biggest wish is to venture the world and learn many things as he maintains a nomadic lifestyle, becoming the strongest person he could be and perhaps spreading his own ideals with said world.
  • Fears: Touma still has some lingering fear over his family's condition in Iwa, hoping they fair well with no way to truly know but he remains strong and willing to push on without them.
  • Combat Mentality:Touma prefers to catch opponents off guard with his taijutsu and capture them in genjutsu so that he can quickly finish them off and dispose of them.
His style can seems erratic and quite rough despite his charming looks and stubborn personality, picking up the seemingly uncouth movements of the Toryuu style and combing it with that of the confusing, elusive Flames of Hatred and his genjutsu.

Katon:
Katon Affinity
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Katon, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Katon affinity. Katon has a passive ignition effect.
Passive (Ingition)Show
Katon's effect is ignition, which means that all katon jutsu, regardless of effect, start and spread fire from their source. Once a jutsu has been performed, the fire from the jutsu spreads at 1/3rd the speed of the technique, rounded down. That means a C-rank katon jutsu that moves at 13 speed would create subsequent fires that spread at 4 speed. These secondary fires require flammable material to continuously spread, otherwise they will burn out on their own.

Additionally, the strength of burns on organic material from katon jutsu is determined by the strength stat of the individual jutsu.

D-Rank
*[Ninjutsu • Hidden Needles]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user will focus chakra into their mouths and into up to five senbon within 3 feet of their position. The senbon will be summoned from their persons or nearby into the user's mouth, where they will be spit out aided by chakra at a speed of 6 and strength of 4. The senbon can be shot up to 7 meters away.

*[Ninjutsu • Tracking Device]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user will coat one of their hairs in chakra. Once this has been done, they will place it on their target. The user can track the exact location of the strand of hair for up to 7 meters. For up to twenty meters out, the user can track a rough location. From then out to 100 meters, the user just gets a general idea of where the opponent is. The chakra in the hair will dissipate at the end of 6 posts.

*[Ninjutsu • Wall]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user causes a thin 3x3 meter flat barrier to form directly in front of them at a speed of 5. This barrier can take a hit of up to 5 strength before shattering, otherwise it lasts for 3 posts.

C-Rank

*Ninjutsu • Spiritualism Technique]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
The base technique for summoning, the Spiritualism Technique allows users to bring forth their summons to fight on their behalf. Once an agreement has been made between the user and their summon, they will be able to use this technique to call upon it at any time unless stated otherwise. The chakra used for this technique varies, as it is dependent on the size and rank of what is being summoned. Once it has been summoned, the user will experience a constant drain on their chakra for as long as the summon is in place. This drain is also dependent on the size and rank of the summon.

*[Ninjutsu • Advanced Transformation Technique]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
An advanced form of the Transformation Technique, after performing the correct hand seals and holding the final one temporarily, the user will coat and mold chakra around their body into the shape and form of something or someone which is no more than twice their size at a speed of 4. This technique's true advantage is that the disguise is given physical substance. This means, for example, if they transform into something with claws, they will have claws that can physically be used. For the disguises 5 post duration, if it is damaged by a hit of 16 or more strength, the disguise "poofs" from existence. This includes collateral damage caused by striking an opponent that may occur to the disguise.

B-Rank

~Rikigaku-teki • Rib Cage
B-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: Tsuyoi Shōgō-zumi
The user will perform the necessary hand seals as they form a large glowing rib cage shroud around their body protecting them. This shroud is 5m in diameter, and is solid on the outside but allows the user to permeate what goes through allowing them to include people within the shroud and release jutsu from it. The shroud has a strength of 25, and forms at a speed of 15. Once casted this shroud lasts for 5 posts before dissipating.

*Katon • Fireball
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user draws in a deep breath before exhaling out a 1 foot diameter fireball at the opponent. It travels up to 10 meters away at a speed of 6 and a strength of 4.

Katon • Burning Sight
D-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: First Stage Shōgō-zumin, 9 Ninjutsu
After performing the correct handseals and channelling chakra to their Shōgō-zumi, the user will focus their vision on a single, unmoving point within 10 metres of them. The point will visibly gather chakra along with heat before bursting into a torrent of flames at 3 speed. These flames burn with 15 strength, spreading out to a metre diameter before petering out after one post.

*Katon • Heated Blade
D-Rank Ninjutsu
By channeling katon chakra into a metal weapon or blade, the user will cause it to grow hotter and cover the blade in flames. The imbued weapon will be able to carve through defenses of 5 or less strength with ease.

C-Rank
*Katon • Great Fireball
C-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals, the user draws in a deep breath before exhaling a thin stream of flames up to 15 meters away at a speed of 10. Either at 15 meters, or if the stream makes impact with anything, the stream will erupt into a spherical C-Rank explosion, scattering flames over everything within a 5 meter radius from the point of impact.

Flames of Hatred:
Flames of Hatred Style
This style comes from the ferocity of the Fukusha as they allow the Flames of Hatred to burn behind their eyes, while they portray a cold stoic outer layer that creates an eerily feel on the battlefield. Their hatred is felt and shown, but it betrays the nature of their calm relaxed movements. This style is usually used to lull opponents in with smooth dodges, and tactical foot placement as they dance around their opponent. Behind the scenes the user is playing a game of battlefield management forcing the opponent to move a way or lull them into placement for their next move. The Fukusha are known for their tactical prowess, and are always thinking 10 steps ahead of their opponent.
Prerequisites: [Close Quarters Combat], and [Perception]
Toryu:
Toryu Kenjutsu
Toryu, a style of Kenjutsu founded in the Land of Pebbles, melds traditional kenjutsu swordplay with subversive feints and sudden bursts of close quarters combat, two unyielding hills crashing together to form a mountain. Toryu typically favors use of the blade with one hand, utilizing the freedom of movement to use one's hands, joints, legs, head, and even the hilt and handle of the sword to make an already deadly style more unpredictable and more lethal. Ignorantly considered a very "unrefined" style by most practitioners of the sword, Toryu is actually one of the most difficult styles of Kenjutsu to learn and master. The very basic premise of the style revolves around the firm control and manipulation of one's own movements and body, some techniques requiring execution while using another attack as a feint or misdirection while not sacrificing strength. The style has no weapon requirements outside of a sword, but many users often prefer kodachi, wakizashi, ninjato, or even tanto, the reduced size and weight of the blades having fewer blindspots and making the user's weapon more mobile.

Requires: [Close Quarters Combat], [Sword Weapons] Concentrations.
D-Rank
~Flames of Hate • Walking Stance
D-Rank Taijutsu Stance
The Fukusha will pair their feet in an L stance, and have a casual movement to them despite their mind being on edge. This stance is typically used to lull opponents into thinking the user is relaxed as their feet are paired shoulder width apart, and knees slightly bent for immediate leverage when needed. While moving the user will typically keep their body on edge as if to react out of instinct to dodge, parry, or block any incoming attacks. In this stance the user's keep their torso up straight.

~Flames of Hate • Tactile Palm Maneuverment
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
When the user is fighting upclose and personal, they will waive their off hand in the face of their opponent as a distraction while their other hand will perform an underhanded palm strike to the chest. This strike aims to wind them with a blow to the sternum which can create useful openings.

~Flames of Hate • Side Swipe
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The user will intercept an incoming strike aimed for them, and divert it to the side opposite of the hand they're using to divert. As they attempt to move the opponent around them they will raise their arm on the side they're directing the opponent, and jab a strong elbow to that person's head as an attempt to disorient or land a sturdy face blow. While rudimentary it is still a strong strike as its compatible with most incoming attacks of the physical nature.

*[Toryu • Ambidexterity]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After practicing for a long amount of time with the concept of using both of their hands with equal skill, the user has developed a level of ambidexterity that allows them to utilize both hands equally and as effectively without any penalty. This extends to other methods of combat or simple everyday life as well.

*[Toryu • Cobblestone Skeleton]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite(s): 8 Taijutsu, 8 Strength.
A practitioner of Toryu is capable of attacking with every part of their body, even their heads. This Discipline represents the practitioner's capacity and experience with executing palm strikes, heel strikes, knee strikes, elbow strikes, and headbutts/skull bashes just as effectively as regular punches, kicks, and sword strikes. This Discipline allows the practitioner to consistently execute these kinds of attacks while minimizing or eliminating openings in their defenses or shock/damage they would experience while using these kinds of strikes.

C-Rank
*[Toryu • Lethal Familiarity]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Many of the Toryu techniques would put the user in incredibly daring positions where a single mistake could instantly spell disaster for the swordsman. As a result, Toryu practitioners must train themselves constantly to avoid letting their fears distract them from their task. A practitioner with this technique has learned to shut out fear in the heat of combat, allowing them to perform attacks and techniques without the risk of failure due to fear responses.

~Flames of Hate • Grip Break
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
As an opponent swings in with a weapon, the user will side step the attack as they step in quickly to hold the weapon down on its safe end, and batter at the opponent's hand attempting to twist and rip the weapon away from the opponent. As the user rips the weapon away they'll then transition from battering the opponent's hands into an elbow to the opponent's face.

*[Toryu • Fury Guard]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A technique allowing the practitioner to partially customize their focus on defense or offense, the practitioner guards against attacks while immediately attacking subsequent openings with their free hand. The form this takes depends on which hand they prioritize for defense. Should they choose to guard with their sword hand, the practitioner deflects the attacks outwards, away from the opponent's center of mass where their guard is strongest, and responds by launching unarmed counter attacks like a punch, elbow, or throw. If they choose to guard with their unarmed hand, the practitioner blocks the attack by intercepting the haft of the weapon or the opponent's wrists with the back of their fist or forearm and counter with more lethal slashes and stabs from their sword.

~Flames of Hate • No Loose Ends
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
A user who practices this discipline is skilled in seeing where weapons and projectiles are being thrown from to be able to deduce the general direction they are coming from. With this discipline, someone attempting to launch attacks from the shadows will reveal their position as the user traces the projectile back to the opponent in the shadows.

~Flames of Hate • Weaponry Instinct
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
A user who practices this discipline is skilled in studying their opponent's hold on weaponry. They'll be able to deduce weak spots in an opponent's grip, and better avoid attacks and prevent their body from instinctively blocking from attacks that would otherwise be dangerous if blocked. This essentially reinforces a user's natural knowledge of weaponry, and the pursuit to disarm an opponent.

B-Rank
~Flames of Hate • Kowalski Analyze
B-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
A user practiced in this discipline is keen on small details. They are able to tell when things have been disturbed, pick up on little patterns, and are able to deduce an opponent's skill set with a bit of observation. This allows the user to pick up on an opponent's style, patterns, and details as long as the user's [Taijutsu+Instinct]/2 is higher than the opponent's [Taijutsu+Speed]/2. The user can also use this jutsu for detecting things wrong in an area, or if things have been moved or disturbed.
Genjutsu: 4D, 3C, 1BShow
D-Rank
*[Genjutsu • Paranoid]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
The user will do a series of hand seals, then point indiscriminately. Should the target see the pointing motion, they'll be captured in this genjutsu. For the following 4 posts, the target will see a shadow in the corner of their eyes, constantly shifting out of view when they attempt to look at it.

*[Genjutsu • Boom!]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
The user will do a series of hand seals, then within the next post, snap their fingers. Anyone who hears the snapping will hear an explosion in the distance behind them. This works as an effective distraction, or a scare tactic, if properly utilized.sh

[Genjutsu • Throbbing Head]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After performing the necessary handseals the user will get in close and look into their opponent's eyes with their Shōgō-zumi. Should the target see the Shōgō-zumi then they will be captured in this genjutsu. For the following 4 posts, the target will feel a burning sensation radiating from their eyes into their head, causing it to throb like a headache not unlike having severe eye strain.

[Genjutsu • Sudden Jolt]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After performing the necessary handseals the user will touch someone, usually the arm or hand. Should the target feel the touch, they will then feel a shocking jolt run through their body with a particularly strong burst towards the heart not unlike suddenly being jolted awake but on a stronger scale.
The target will then feel a constant tingle all over their body for 2 posts following the shock.

C-Rank
*[Genjutsu • Doubt]
C-Ranked Status Genjutsu
The user will do a series of hand seals, then whistle, initiating the genjutsu in anyone who hears the whistle. For the next three posts, the victims of this technique will feel tinges of doubt when listening to other people talk. While the doubt isn't strong, it creates a slight feeling that can be used to dissuade them from following instructions of other people if utilized properly.

*[Genjutsu • Demonic Illusion • Hell Viewing]
C-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
This is a genjutsu technique that causes its target to see a horrifying vision. The ninja will perform some hand seals and make eye contact with the target. Once cast, the world will appear normal to the target until they see the illusion. The illusion is at the discretion of the user. However, they can only make a stationary image, or a visual loop, not a controllable visual illusion. Examples would be a decapitated head on a table, or one of their friends running in circles on fire. This illusions may only last up to 4 posts, or until the user ends the jutsu themselves. As a note, this only effects sight.

[Genjutsu • Anger]
C-Ranked Status Genjutsu
The user will perform the necessary handseals and look into their opponent's eyes with a cocky grin spread across their face. Should the target see this expression and make eye contact they will fall under the genjutsu and start to feel a sudden bout of anger over the next 3 posts.
This anger will stay as their main emotion and can't be calmed by normal means, simply coming back no matter what until the genjutsu is broken potentially making them rash and upsetting their combat capability.

B-Rank
*[Genjutsu • Calm]
B-Ranked Warp Genjutsu
The user does the needed hand seals, and then breaths out, expelling their breath onto their target. If successful, a 4 post long genjutsu will begin on the target. Over the course of the genjutsu, the target won't be able to feel any wind, and if it's raining, the rain will appear and feel like a light drizzle, regardless of how intense it really it. The target will also feel a sense of calm course through their body, as if all their senses have been slightly dulled, usually causing them to relax, be less stressed, and less inclined to combat. Originally created for the use of execution in combative prisoners, the technique now proves to be an effective method in combat to regain control of the battle field.

History
Historical AccountsShow
Touma was born amongst the nomadic Fukusha with his nuclear family consisting of his mother, father and elder sister which soon expanded further to also include a younger sister.

At his birth those closest to the family within the clan showered him with gifts as was customary, each wishing good things upon the boy with his mother wishing worldly knowledge upon him as an old map was burned in the fires to the gods

As he grew up and started to become capable he was taught the way of the sword and in particular picked up a good few techniques from the pebble country as they moved through it on their travels, though he also learned traditional Fukusha techniques with his elder sister being a major teacher in them for him.

However with the skirmishes the clan constantly got caught up in there came a time when Touma's father had to sacrifice his own life to save the rest, essentially leaving his elder sister in charge given his mother had less of a fighting role with his newly born younger sister.

This also pushed Touma to stand up and train hard and as a result he unlocked his Shōgō-zumi which was unlike anything he could ever imagine, allowing him to more easily take part in more of the clan's fights but in turn it also got him injured as one foe cut into his stomach with a powerful sword attack.

Luckily the boy's older sibling deflected the attack so that it only cut down the side and into the lower left, saving his life but in doing so she forfeited her own skills due to damage brought down upon her arms rending her unable to fight.

That being said the sister could not give up and continued to train hard to help defend the family despite their mother's wishes, resulting in her death when he got into a skirmish she could no longer handle which brought sadness upon the family once more.

However these constant skirmishes caught the attention of Iwagakure and so the clan where given an ultimatum and as a result where brought into the folds of the village, which Touma and his family welcomed as it meant no more sacrificial deaths and wild skirmishes.

Then part of the Iwagakure society Touma trained diligently in the mysterious arts of chakra, finding himself particularly skilful with the art of genjutsu.
That being said he couldn't quite seem to settle properly and longed to continue his nomadic lifestyle he once had despite being thankful for their opportunities and village safety, though it was apparent village officials would not simply let him go now he knew the secrets of chakra and other secrets of the village and so a plot sprung up between him and his closest friends.

As such he used an opportunity on a mission to reclaim some lost Fukusha relics and bring them back to Iwa to bamboozle his company, tricking them and fleeing to a path of freedom though his friends where captured in the escape but they where happy to see at least one of the group make it.

Since then Touma laid low for awhile and made out to be a regular nomadic samurai but recently started to reclaim his name as an Fukusha, even stitching the clan's symbol into his clothing despite being alone now.
