Doji, Kyoji
Queen of Mount Kyoji

[Nindo]

General Information Age: 650
Gender: Female
Height: 145cm/1.45 metres
Weight: 46 kgs
Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Mature. Her face’s shape is refined, sharp and elegant, the angled face of an adult woman. Yet, her eyes are not that of a normal human’s. They’re predatory, devious, devilish and rather hungry. Couple this with them being naturally purple and she is rather stand out for someone so short.
  • Body: Petite. That is the best way to describe Kyoji’s body. Restrained, petite, small and one might even say immature…but you’d be wrong. Beneath the clothing, she has a rather developed body, sporting the waist of a fully developed adult, as well as the body proportions. However, there are a few other aspects to mention: namely her horns. Like all Oni, Kyoji sports a twin set of horns that grow from her forehead, starting as a flesh colour before transitioning into a crimson red.
  • Notable Features:Her horns. They grow from her forehead, starting as the same white as her skin before transitioning, via a gradient, into a deep crimson.
Clothing/Accessories: Kimono’s. Lots and lots of them. Blacks, pinks, purples and reds. These are what make up most of her wardrobe but of course, she does have a handful of other outfits. Plain trousers, shirts (both long and short), hoodies and other modern clothing. Now, there is one thing left to mention: footwear and accessories. The only footwear you ever really see Kyoji wearing are raised platform geta. She does go barefoot a lot of the time as well.

As for accessories, she is always seen carrying around a gigantic gourd almost as large as her. It is a deep blue, totally lacking any translucency, rendering it impossible to see inside except by magical means. The gourd is separated into two spheres by a golden band, with the top sphere being smaller than the bottom. Finally, the top of the gourd is mounted with a golden spike, paired with three smaller golden spikes located on the bottom that serve as legs.

Personality:
  • General: Whimsical. That’s the best word to describe Kyoji. She simply saunters and staggers around the world, drinking her sake and doing whatever strikes her fancy. She has few ambitions, few desires, few dreams except to simply enjoy her life. She has already fought her way to being the head of her band of Oni, even if she typically delegates most of her actual duties to her second. Laze is most definitely another defining trait of her character.

She’s also a raging alcoholic. She likes to drink..and drink…and drink…and drink yet she never seems to be even the slightest bit inebriated, entirely due to her having spent the better part of five hundred years drinking. Now, the mention of her alcoholism is an important point to expand on. Kyoji utterly adores booze. It’s her love, the greatest thing in the world and, surprisingly, one of the main things that attracts her to the human world. Oni aren’t exactly the most gifted when it comes to brewing or even basic agriculture.

The human world…or more accurately, the world of Shinobi. It’s something Kyoji has always found oh so very entertaining. From minor things like the foods they produce to the wars they have and everything else, she simply finds it all so very colourful. Such short lived creatures, dancing across the board, climbing and crawling to achieve what they can in such a short period of time are truly a near endless source of amusement. Plus….she has a penchant for sucking the marrow out of human bones. To her, it’s a true delicacy.

Yet…is this really all there is to Kyoji? A whimsical alcoholic, dancing across the world, simply looking for fun? If one spends even some time with her, it becomes obvious that she’s looking for something specific. Companionship perhaps? Friends? Or maybe she simply wishes to find a certain object. All of these are true but she keeps them to herself, a secret desire hidden beneath a whimsical, intoxicating and teasing persona.

Finally, Kyoji does not like to fight. It’s one of a few things that sets her apart from the rest of her kind, given their penchant for meat head thinking. However, while she is adverse to physical conflict that does not mean she’s a pacifist. Kyoji is still an Oni after all and when her instincts are aroused, she can be rather violent. It’s part of why she is always drinking. Being drunk tends to help keep her instincts under control.
  • Hopes/Dreams: To simply observe. The human world, especially when shinobi are involved, amuses her to no end….and to maybe find a cute human to pass some decades with…..she is also searching for her father’s sword, lost after being claimed by the hunter who killed him.
  • Fears: Amusingly, her only real fear is running out of sake. It’s why she’s always carrying that massive gourd around. Fears aren’t really something she has, unless we’re talking about her father. That person was a monster, luckily death took him.
  • Combat Mentality:Kyoji rarely fights. It’s not fun. It’s boring. Dull. It’s why she avoids fighting, simply dancing around them to avoid their attacks. However, if she’s put into a position where she absolutely must defeat an opponent, Kyoji’s fighting style changes entirely.

Gone is the evasive nature she typically uses, replaced by her employing brutal levels of force designed to break bones, rupture organs and just generally beat people down. However, to augment this, and make the fight even easier, she typically employs poisons to deliberate and weaken an opponent. One must remember, Kyoji does not really care for fighting and so simply wants it ended asap so she can return to her alcohol.

Abilities and Concentrations
Abilities
Oni’s Cellarette On account of her very biology, any and every alcoholic substance Kyoji consumes, after being swallowed, is turned into a poison over the course of three posts. This also results in her, basically, being immune to any and all poisons or toxins in the world regardless of whether she ingested or inhaled them. She’s drunk so much of the stuff, as well as simply having a very tough constitution, that poisons never affect her. However, she is still vulnerable to things being directly injected into her bloodstream; such as venoms or just anything that is neither a toxin or poison.
Oni physiology He long life span, her horns, her innate and unnatural tolerance for alcohol and a major regen ability (in line with the passive regeneration rules) and as such, she has to pay that -5 chakra cost for it to apply and can pay an additional -5 chakra to boost the effects in line with the regeneration rules. However, dead is dead for her. Her regen requires her to be alive but not concious.

TaijutsuShow
[Taijutsu • Multitude of Colours-Providential Oni's Poison.]
B-Ranked Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Through pure and total body control, the user is able to manipulate their very biology to agitate their own sweat glands, releasing any consumed liquid as a mist that carries the effects of that liquid. This only applies to liquids they have ingested, be it alcohol, poisons or just plain water. Of course things like water would not have much effect if you inhaled them in gas form but poison or alcohol? They would. This mist can expand up to ten metres max, growing at a rate of two metre per post. However, due to the user having to heighten their own body temperature and metabolism to achieve this effect, they can only maintain it for five posts. Finally, no matter what poison or substance is being exhaled as a mist, it always has a sweet scent akin to spiced fruit.
KūgāpouShow
*Kūgāpou • Soft Paws
D-Ranked Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Soft Paws is a bare-handed deflection technique and is used against bladed weapons. At this level, the practitioner is able to read the angles of the attacks to place the flat of their hand against the flat of the blade and push it away without getting cut by the weapon. However, prolonged use of this technique will cause the practitioner to suffer bruises on their hands.

*Kūgāpou • Soft Elbow
D-Ranked Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Requirement: *Kūgāpou • Soft Paws
After using Soft Paws to slap a blade away, the practitioner will continue moving forwards while jutting out their elbow. The momentum from the target's original attack that was slapped away, coupled with the sudden defenselessness of the target after having their attack deflected, makes for a powerful counter-attack. The elbow can be aimed anywhere on the torso and above, but is usually aimed at the target's face.

*Kūgāpou • Down Paw
D-Ranked Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Whenever a bladed weapon is coming towards the practitioner, they can slam their palm against the top of the blade, pushing it downwards. This can either cause the sword to miss or, if the practitioner's Strength is equal to or higher than the Strength of the attack, can force the sword into the ground. This technique only works on blades that aren't double-edged.

*Kūgāpou • Down Rush
D-Ranked Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Requirement: *Kūgāpou • Down Paw
After using Down Paw to drive the opponent’s blade downward or into the ground, the practitioner will rush forward and ram their shoulder into the opponent, driving them back and away from their weapon or even taking the weapon from them outright.

*Kūgāpou • Slight Dodge
D-Ranked Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Whenever in a situation where they can't avoid being struck, the practitioner will slightly shift their body. This slight movement allows them to cause the incoming attack to miss any vital organs and cause as little damage as possible.

*Kūgāpou • Quick Fang
C-Ranked Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Useful for dealing with an opponent using a short weapon, such as a kunai, knife, or dagger, the practitioner waits for the opponent to attack. Taking advantage of the small size of the weapon, the practitioner then aims a slap or a punch at the opponent's fingers, aiming to simultaneously push the weapon off its trajectory and damage or even crush the opponent's fingers.

*Kūgāpou • Leveraged Fang
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner will sidestep a weapon attack against them and attempt to disarm the opponent. They will grab and pull the weapon on a safe or dull spot before simultaneously slamming the other palm into the opponent's wrist. If the opponent has a Rigid Structure technique of equal or higher rank than this technique, they can resist being disarmed. Otherwise, the weapon is ripped from the opponent's grasp and their hand is knocked away. Their wrist will swell from the impact, making handling weapons in that hand difficult if the wrist isn't outright broken due to the practitioner having a higher Strength than the opponent.

*Kūgāpou • Hunter's Prediction
C-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
By observing a weapon's movement through the air and having a deep understanding of weaponry in general, the practitioner is capable of predicting a weapon's trajectory. This technique is especially effective when the practitioner sees the actual moment the weapon was launched, as seeing the movement of the weapon wielder provides crucial information. If they didn't see the weapon being launched, they can still predict the trajectory to a smaller degree but are incapable of accounting for high-level taijutsu that may be applied to the weapon attack.

*Kūgāpou • Intercept Fang
C-Ranked Taijutsu Manoeuvre
The practitioner catches an attacking weapon with both hands and halts its momentum. Once they have stopped the motion of the attack, the practitioner will wrench their hands in a single direction to deflect the weapon or even rip the weapon out of the opponent's hands. Opponents with a higher Strength than the practitioner's Strength can resist being disarmed.

*Kūgāpou • Calculated Paw
B-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Requirement: *Kūgāpou • Soft Paw
When fighting multiple enemies, the user has learned to use Soft Paw as more than just an evasive technique. When a bladed weapon is incoming, they perform a very calculated Soft Paw which allows them to change the trajectory of the bladed weapon to where they desire. Meaning that they are able to not only avoid the strike, but aim it elsewhere so that it may go on to strike other people around them, or perhaps to do some other beneficial action.

*Kūgāpou • Rapid Paw
B-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
When dealing with projectile weapons, the practitioner pushes their reflexes and their physical abilities to the limit. The practitioner attempts to rapidly catch the incoming projectile weapons, grabbing them where they will not hurt them. If successful, they can either keep the weapons for future use or they may simply move the weapons so that they're no longer a threat.

*Kūgāpou • Return Fang
B-Ranked Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Intercepting an opponent's weapon attack, the practitioner will catch the opponent's hands in their own, turning the direction of the weapon back towards the target and impaling them with it. Opponents with a Rigid Structure technique of equal or higher rank than this technique can resist having their weapon turned on them.
Bone BreakerShow
*Fault Line
D-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
The practitioner throws a palm strike towards an opponent's leg utilising all their momentum and force by swinging their shoulders and hips, targeting the opponent's thigh. Landing this strike causes immense discomfort and a hairline fracture in one of the bones, and if the opponent continues to heavily use and strain the targeted leg, the hairline fracture can degrade into a full severe fracture. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Quaker
D-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Prerequisite: 10 strength.
This taijutsu utilises the weaker spot of the fibula in the calf to snap the soft bone. This creates intense pain in their calf, making them unable to stand, and it causes immense pain on the damaged leg. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Stop Pointing
D-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
This technique requires the practitioner to get close and personal, grabbing the opponent and forcing them into an armbar. Once the opponent is forced into an armbar, the practitioner must then open up their fingers and bend them back with immense force until they break or dislocate. This prevents the opponent from forming handseals unless they relocate their fingers or mend the bone breakage. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Drunk Goggles
D-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
The practitioner claps their opponent's ear with the palm of their hand, swinging wide to gather as much force as possible before the strike. This causes bleeding and a ringing sensation in the opponent's ear, hampering their ability to hear properly. This also causes an influx of pressure in the opponent's ear canal, compromising the opponent's balance. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Right in the Sniffer
D-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
The practitioner positions themselves in a fighting stance and performs a quick jab with their dominant hand striking their opponent's nose in an attempt to break the cartilage. This causes immense pain and hampers their sense of smell as it fills with blood. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Look Over There
C-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
The practitioner throws a hooking punch into the side of their opponent's face around the orbit socket, twisting on the ball of their foot to add some extra force to the strike. Making contact with the blow will cause bleeding and swelling in the opponent's afflicted eye, making them go temporarily blind in the targeted eye until they receive medical attention. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Pelvis Grinder
C-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Prerequisite: 10 Strength
The practitioner grabs the opponent by the shoulders and attempts to drive their knee into the opponent's pelvis full-force, using the hard part of their knee cause a localised fracture. This fracture inhibits the opponent's ability to sprint or run, and it causes them to stand at an awkward angle, inhibiting their ability to stand in a stable fighting position. It also causes the opponent to be off-balance as they attempt to relieve the pain by putting more pressure into their knees. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Spinal Chipper
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 15 Strength
The practitioner approaches behind the opponent or slides behind them before crouching low to the ground. Supporting themselves with their hands, the practitioner delivers a powerful kick to the opponent's spinal cord, attempting to fracture their spinal disks. These fractures create a strain on the opponent's back, making it difficult to remain standing upright or make wide movements. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.
*Knee Bender
C-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Prerequisite: 10 Strength
The practitioner closes in and delivers a powerful snap kick to the opponent's knee, attempting to bend it completely backwards, dislocating it or breaking the joint outright. This causes the opponent unable to stand on the afflicted leg without struggling to balance themselves. This also causes immense pain in the opponent's joint, making the injury hard to heal naturally. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Humorous Humerus
C-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Prerequisite: 10 Strength
The practitioner delivers an open palm strike to the opponent's arm, attempting to break the humerus bone and render the arm unusable. This makes the opponent unable to move the affected arm or perform hand seals. The opponent will also feel immense pain in their injured arm and will have trouble moving the arm any further down than the shoulder. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Cage Breaker
B-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Prerequisite: 20 Strength
The practitioner crouches under an opponent's strike before uppercutting them with an open palm strike to their lower rib cage, attempting to break the lower ribs and debilitate the opponent's breathing. If the full force of the blow lands, the opponent becomes short of breath, and the damage can possibly cause bones to put pressure on their opponent's lungs, making breathing even more difficult. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Fight fire with fire
B-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Prerequisite: 20 Strength
The practitioner throws a punch to meet their opponent's fist midstrike, intending to overwhelm them with strength. The force of the strikes meeting causes vibrations throughout the opponent's arm, causing several fractures in their forearm, humerus, and hand if the practitioner's Strength is 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength. This technique causes extreme pain to the opponent, and their arm becomes crippled.

*Xylophone
A-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
Prerequisites: 30 Strength
The practitioner strikes the opponent's chest with two quick, successive palm strikes, the force radiating through the opponent's rib cage. If the practitioner's Strength is 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength, all of their ribs will suffer hairline fractures. This causes the opponent severe pain in their chest and difficulty breathing. If the practitioner's Strength is 10 points higher than the opponent's Strength, this technique will completely break the opponent's ribs, causing them to puncture their lungs.

History
Historical AccountsShow
Before villages were even an idea, before the current shinobi system existed, before the current order of the world had developed there was the Oni of what would eventually become the Land of Runes. Born amid these Onis, not a clan by any means and simply just a species in their own right, was Kyoji. Her mother was an ancient serpent, mighty and powerful, while her father was simply the strongest of the Oni.

Her mother did not stay around for long, leaving the very night Kyoji was born, surrendering her to the care of her father which may not have been the best idea. He was an Oni’s Oni, a brutal and violent creature, who simply believed in stealing and thieving; taking what he wanted and killing those who disobeyed. Oni culture and society is typically based around survival of the fittest and Kyoji, due to her unique heritage, was hardly the biggest.

At first, the fellow Oni thought she was simply easy prey, someone weak to pick on and bully but she swiftly proved that assertion wrong. The blood of the Orochi coursed through her veins, something that gave her great power and strange abilities and even given her diminutive height, she was more than easily able to put the others in their place. Strength through domination and domination through strength were the ideology of Oni-kind.

Still, the years went by and Kyoji had to wonder…just why did they only steal and plunder? The more daring the raids on people, settlements and caravans became, the stiffer the resistance. The Oni desired food, treasure and alcohol. There had to be better ways, easier ways, less demanding ways and so, Kyoji set out to find them. Much to her father’s frustration, she began employing extortion and clever word play to gain plunder. If caravans surrendered their cargo, they would be left alone. If settlements consistently gave away their crops, they would be left alone. It even got to the point were the Oni loyal to Kyoji began working as mercenaries.

Yet, conflict was on the horizon. Kyoji’s father, Ibuki, simply considered Kyoji’s way of doing things as “un-Oni like” and so he sought to put a stop to it. Family bonds be damned, he would use violence and force to bring her to heel. However, what he did not expect was that Kyoji’s popularity, something achieved through the greater quantity of loot and better fights she brought her followers, exceeded his own. Each and every single Oni turned against him and Kyoji, through her own abilities as much as the abilities she inherited from her mother, she slew her father.

It was a battle that shook the very mountain to its core, the world trembling as this diminutive little girl of an Oni faced down a true giant. She almost lost in fact were it not for her, and so far only, manifestation of her Orochi blood. She conjured a monstrous rendition of her mother, a recreation of that most mighty of creatures. This was how she brought her father low, taking his place as the head of the Oni of Mount Oe and from there she…basically just retreated away to live a comfortable life. She picked her most trusted subordinate to take charge, setting up a toll system as well as opening the Oni up to being hired.

With her second in command running things, Kyoji simply left the mountain, exploring the human world, witnessing the formation of the villages, the Shinobi world war and even finding herself a husband among the human world. It was a, by her standards, short lived relationship due to the short life span of humans and the very nature of being a Shinobi. However, regardless of all of that, Kyoji was still introduced to humanity and found herself growing a soft spot for them. She even had a half-human daughter with her husband, raising them after her husband’s tragic death; a death she did brutally avenge.

But this, was many hundreds of years ago and since then, she has mostly kept to her mountain, passing the centuries with drinking and relaxing, only really stepping down from her abode to protect her fellow Oni, visit her mother for the turning of the years or making the occasional foray into the human world. In fact, she has recently decided to make one of these forays into the human world, a mere holiday for her but something experience has taught that tends to coincide with monumental changes in the world. After all, she does very much adore witnessing the world of humanity go through its many lurching changes.
