HYUUGA TAIYO
The True Heart of the Hyuuga

[Inspire Towards the Truth]

General Information Age: 15
Gender: Male
Height: 5'7
Weight: 138 lbs
Physical FeaturesShow
Like the vast majority of his clan, Taiyo hold a fairly noble disposition about him. He upholds the upmost pride and passion for his clan and this truly reflects every decision he makes for both the good and the bad. When coming across him, most are quick to notice the common traits fitting of the Hyuuga. He holds long black straight hair that falls down halfway down his back with short bangs that frame the ivory eyes that he inherited from his ancestors. Clothing tends to be quite traditional and typically features kimono of fairly bland decision. Blacks, grays, and the occasional white finds its way into his wardrobe with the slight splash of color placed upon them just to give them the slightest bit of personality. To him, he finds anything outside of this as asking for trouble and bad for the stealth-like tactics that ninja possibly can engage in on a day to day basis. The rest of his attire is fairly simple: chain-mail suit to protect against weaponry, hakama pants that fall to the knee, and knee high boots conceal his feet. In order to protect his forearms from his arrow, thick leather gloves lace each arm and prevent arrows from piecing his skin on the occasional misfire.

Despite having a twin brother, the older of the two really does not share much similarities with his sibling. He stands an average five foot seven and holds a healthy weight to him. In the rare circumstance that one might stumble upon the Hyuuga outside of his clothing, one would find a fairly pale, toned, and athletic form expected of one who practices taijutsu constantly. Whereas his brother is more muscular and filled with strength, his form is much leaner to allow for the quick movements and excellent balance expected of the Jyuuken style. Despite all of this, he is still not as limber as many others in his clan. This is due to his preference towards that of archery, it taking up a vast majority of his training time. As the constant need to strike his opponents 64 times in a quick barrage to claim victory proves unlikely for his style of combat, he instead focuses mostly on the balance, steadiness, and precision needed to be an archer. He must hold a bow without it shaking, pull back arrows without wavering, and fire clean and true as another shot may not come into an opening once fired.

PersonalityShow
Whereas his brother could be best described as a flaring sun full of energy, Taiyo is a ripple-less pond in a tranquil forest. He has a fairly calm disposition about him that is filled with patience, observation, and peacefulness. He is a listener first and speaker second as if he is always in a state of calculation to respond with the best route of action. Fitting of this, the male follows a very Buddhist lifestyle and harbors no hatred or unnecessary pain towards life. This faith extends to such an extent that he won’t consume the meat of an animal or harm another unless such becomes a necessity. He is a firm believer that the pen is mightier than the sword and would rather negotiate treaties rather than engaging in war. But don’t let this peaceful demeanor fool you. Should he need to fight arise, Taiyo will be the first to launch and arrow and pierce one straight through the heart should it come to it. He is merciless in battle and will always go for a fatal blow if his ever penetrating eyes is capable of locating one. After all, with death comes the truest form of peace there is.

Though seemingly always in a state of collected peace, there are times that his zen-filled stasis can dissolve and crumble into one filled with frustration. Often this is broken by no one else but his brother whose reckless behavior ruins and greatly interferes with his OCD-levels of planning and organization. Leaving his shoes in the middle of the floor for him to trip over, not making his bed before he leaves for the day, and running into battle without thinking irritates him to no end. The same effect happens towards anyone of similar personality quirks and makes his normally pale face flush red with anger. In these circumstances, it is quite normal for the male to sneak away towards a private place so that he can mediate and recalibrate his emotions to a more unperturbed mindset. Even though it is often Taiin who drives him bonkers majority of the time, he considers the male his closest friend and the one he trusts the most.

    Abilities and Concentrations
Abilities
ByakuganOne of the most famed doujutsu in the world, Byakugan is the bloodline limit of the Hyuuga Clan. When active, the clan member gains 360 degree vision and Penetrative vision, allowing the Hyuuga clan to see the Tenketsu of their enemies. Their telescopic vision can be activated via jutsu. As such, the Byakugan is capable of ability channeling, allowing the Hyuuga to activate their Doujutsu techniques without hand seals. It should be noted that while using their telescopic vision the Hyuuga experiences tunnel vision, making it difficult to see their surroundings.

Prolonged usage of the Byakugan is strenuous and requires a high level of endurance. The maximum operating time a user can utilize their Byakugan at a time is equal to their stamina stat divided by 4 rounded down, to a minimum of one post. Upon reaching the max duration, the stress of using their Byakugan to it’s limit causes a cooldown period of 1/2 of the duration time, to a minumum of one post. During this cooldown period, the Byakugan cannot be activated and attempting to do so will cause physical pain. Duration is based off total posts where the Byakugan is activated, meaning users can turn it on and off to have a shorter cooldown.

Flawless AimShow
Flawless Aim Style:
This style of combat is favored by specialists preferring to use projectiles, often serving as a staple for taijutsu-based projectile users. Focusing on the synergy between their hands and senses they strive to make their reach as far as possible with flawless aim.
Requires [Projectile Weaponry] and [Upper Body] concentrations
*[Flawless Aim Style • Rapid Shot]
D-Rank Taijutsu Stance
The user will hold multiple projectiles in their hands to reduce the amount of time needed between each shot. When required they can quickly and fluidly draw more projectiles and keep up a steady stream of attacks. However, while utilizing this Stance the users feet must be planted, limiting the range of their assault, and their ability to be mobile while using it.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Sentinel Stance]
D-Rank Taijutsu Stance
A stable and steady stance practiced by nearly all wishing to use projectiles. At this stage they are planted and focusing on their arms and shoulders, moving in smooth motions to mitigate unnecessary movements that may ruin their aim.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Tracking]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
This allows the user to hit a moving target so long as it is moving in a way predictable to the user. They must still take into account travel time, and sudden changes in path will still affect the outcome.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Multi-shot]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner is able to knock multiple arrows upon a single shot, loosing all of them simultaneously. Their accuracy suffers from this, taking a cumulative -2 Strength for each additional shot.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Arcing Shot]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner is able to shoot in arcs up and over most obstacles, being able to accurately hit a target that is behind obstructions as if they were in the open. Granted, they must know of their target’s location or have another means of detecting them.

[Flawless Aim Style • Explosive Shot]
D-Rank NinTaijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner begins by channeling chakra into a projectile before launching it forward. This chakra causes the projectile in question to become quite volatile and once it connects with another object, it will detonate with the force of a D-Rank explosion.
Gentle FistShow
Jyuuken:
Jyuuken, also known as ‘Gentle Fist’ is the NinTaijutsu style the Hyuuga Clan has become notorious for. It’s moves appear like a graceful dance to the naked eye, though some of these moves can be quite deadly. Most strikes are aimed to close the tenketsu of the target’s body, limiting their jutsu use and damaging their chakra network. As every move requires Channeling this style follows the basic channelling rules and as such every jutsu has a Control prerequisite. Due to the accuracy of each strike, each jutsu also requires an Instinct stat equal to that of the jutsu (as noted on each jutsu).
Requires [Upper Body] and [Deft Hands] concentrations
~Jyuuken :: Palm Dance of Divination
D-Rank NinTaijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 6 Control
One of the fundamental techniques of the style, the user will channel chakra into their palms. They will then quickly strike the opponent in an attempt to damage their tenketsu. This is normally used in conjunction with other techniques. The gathered chakra can be maintained for three posts before dissipating away.

~Jyuuken :: Palm Bottom
D-Rank NinTaijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 6 Control
This attack consists of a quick, precise thrust of the user’s palm to an opponent's body, having channeled chakra into the hand. Though it causes internal damage like other Jyuuken techniques, its greatest asset lies in its ability to be fired off from just about any position and at any given point of the opponent's body.

~Jyuuken :: Eight Divination Signs, Air Palm
D Rank NinTaijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 6 Control
After channeling chakra throughout their body, the Hyuuga will thrust their palm outward, releasing a high-speed palm thrust. A spiraling, compressed shell of chakra is formed and bursts outward in the direction the palm is facing. It travels at a speed of 5, hits with a strength of 5, and travels out up to five meters. If the shell hits the opponent, they will be knocked back 5 meters unless they have a strength of 5 or higher.

~Jyuuken :: Chakra Needles
D Rank NinTaijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 6 Control
By channeling chakra to the hand, the ninja will create one chakra needle on one of their fingertips. They can then throw it at an opponent or target as if it were a regular throwing senbon, or they can use them with their Jyuuken Techniques to give their pokes a stabbing quality. The damage caused is much like that of a regular senbon needle, and it lasts for 3 posts.
Gentle ShotShow
Quote:
Jyuusha, or the Gentle Shot, is a form of combat created by Hyuuga Taiyo. It is essentially a combination of both the Gentle Fist and the Flawless Aim style, essentially allowing the male to perform long range strikes that directly effect the opponents chakra coils, causing internal damage. Also like Jyuuken in that move requires Channeling, this style follows the basic channelling rules and as such every jutsu has a Control prerequisite. Additionally, jutsu that directly damage the tenketsu also has an Instinct prerequisite (as noted on the jutsu itself).
Requires [Projectile Weaponry] concentration
† Eight Divination Shot
D-Rank NinTaijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: 6 Control
Similarly to the principals of Jyuuken, Taiyo begins this by focusing his chakra into a projectile before launching it forward like he would normally. Behaving quite similarly to that of the Gentle Fist, should the target make contact with this weapon, this chakra will bounce off and strike them with a force comparable to a Jyuuken attack. The power of this technique comes not from how much damage the projectile itself inflicts but from how even a small graze or deflection from another weapon can cause great harm.

† Eight Divination Shot: Burst
D-Rank NinTaijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: Eight Divination Shot, 6 Control
A technique devised after improving on the properties of his normal Eight Divination Shot, Taiyo will infuse his chakra into a projectile before launching it forward like he would normally. This projectile releases a forward cone of energy that spreads outwards a range of one meter. Should the target be within this range, they will be struck by a force comparable to a Jyuuken strike.

Sealing TechniquesShow
*Fuuinjutsu • Tool Storage
D-Rank Storage Fuuinjutsu
After drawing a seal formula on a surface, appropriate in size to the weapon being sealed but no larger than 3x9 inches, the user forms the needed hand seals then may place as many of that singular object into the scroll as desired. When done, the user performs another set of hand seals and touches the seal closing it off as the seal condenses to the shape of the object stored. This seal is the only known sealing applications that allows depth storage and unfortunately this cannot be done at larger sizes. Tools can only be released at a maximum of 10 at a time, and are released with zero force.

*Fuuinjutsu • Explosive Tag
D-Rank Force Fuuinjutsu
After drawing an 2x5 inch seal formula on a surface the user forms the needed hand seals then touches the seal, arming it with their chakra. Upon being kai'd, the tag releases it's stored energy as a D-Rank Explosion of concussive force outward from itself.

*Fuuinjutsu • Tattoo
D-Rank Storage Fuuinjutsu
Developed for clandestine operations originally, instead of using ink and paper, the user draws a seal onto their body the size of the item they are sealing into their body. Upon doing a set of hand seals, the user then slides the item into the tattoo and performs a second seal, causing the seal to go dormant. When kai'd the seal releases the stored item.

History
Historical AccountsShow
Hyuuga Taiyo was the first of two twins born to a lovely Hyuuga couple. His father was a proud clan warrior and renown village ninja of fairly high notoriety while his mother was a simple Chuunin who hailed from a generic family with no claim of fame held upon their surname. The boys were named after the greater Yang and Yin of the Eight Trigrams with Taiyo representing the "light" portion of it. He was given such a name due to his greater size in comparison to younger brother. He was viewed as the new generation of light that would guide the clan towards greatness. However, it greatly appeared they had chosen the wrong twin for their little prophecy.

Despite growing taller than Taiin, Taiyo was constantly plagued with childhood illness due to a fairly weak immune system. Where his younger brother took fairly naturally to the Jyuuken form of fighting and Taijutsu as a whole, his frequent required days of rest certainly stunted his progress and eventually allowed Taiin to surpass him in the art and skill of the style. Though certainly discouraged, his entering within the ninja academy bolstered his vigor and allowed him to begin following his own path as a shinobi. Though he was still one of the better taijutsu users in his class, his skills seemed to favor more towards the projectile line of bukijutsu. There were very few who were able to out throw his weapons in both training and practice.

Though he graduated with his brother, he was unable to participate within the same rite of passage as him. Because of his poor health as a child, it was theorized his byakugan was essentially stunted in its development. While the rest of his clan viewed him as cursed, it was his mother and her family that really supported him during this gloomy family culture he was plagued with. Recognizing his skills with projectiles, they purchased him his first bow and a large quiver of arrows and began training him in the art of kyuujutsu. While it took him a while to get used to such a foreign weapon, he quickly learned how to use it with plenty of practice. Where Taiin trained with his father and uncle, he trained with his mother and grandparents. Soon enough the constant trial of shooting arrows and straining to hit bullseyes every time finally awoken his Byakugan and the telescopic vision that came with it.

At the age of fifteen, Taiyo approached the Hyuuga leader one day. He proclaimed though his Byakugan was immature and still unable to properly view the tenketsu like many of his brethren, he wished to demonstrate his skills and vouch that he was worthy of being a member of the clan. While not a traditional "Rite of Passage" by any means, the man agreed and a little spar began. Certainly looking down on Taiyo, the man did not activate his Byakugan when the genin activated his own. Steading his ground and drawing multiple arrows, he would launch one after the other in quick succession.

The clan leader's underestimation was perhaps his downfall in this case. With his speed, a simple deflection of his hand knocked the arrow away. What he wasn't expecting was a blast of pain to sweep over his insides. Coughing up blood at the seemingly out of nowhere Jyuuken strike, he hastily shifted to the side to avoid the second incoming projectile but fell over completely when another bout of pain struck him. When his third and final arrow began to dart right at him, he was forced to activate his Byakugan and use his Heavenly Spin to prevent a direct hit. When multiple clan members jumped to attack Taiyo and defend the honor of their leader, the man signaled for them to stop. The man was impressed due to the cursed child's ability to learn to use the Gentle Fist through another medium of combat.

When asked what Elder he wished to mimic and follow in the future, Taiyo surprised the entire clan when he mentioned his grandparents. "While they are not Hyuuga and hold limited talents as a ninja, they held the ability to see talent in me where everyone else only held doubt. I realize that I am not the best member of this clan nor have the most powerful eyesight, but what I do have is heart. And that in itself is something I feel the Hyuuga have begun to lose over the years. My hope is that me, the nobody cursed to never make something of himself, can inspire at least some of you to look for potential in all of us and not just the traditionalist views that have become old fashioned." While certainly controversial, his speech earned a few claps from the small audience he had gathered and earned him enough notoriety to bare the Hyuuga name.
