Abilities |
Aphrodite’s Countenance | Sayaka was born with what many in Suna would see as a birth defect. Sayaka does not age like others do, much slower actually. As she grew up and learned to work with Jutsu and her Chakra it was discovered that her body also regenerates wounds at a rapid pace, but at the cost of a permanent -5 stamina debuff. This allows Sayaka's body to heal itself following the Regeneration rules, and the regeneration speed is based on her control stat. |
Kaenton [Heat Element] | By fusing together Katon [Fire Element] and Fuuton [Wind Element], members of the Hizashi clan are able to create and use Kaenton [Heat Element].Aphrodite’s EssenceAnother birth defect, as it would be seen in Suna, that Sayaka was born with was the ability to manipulate her own scent, her own pheromones. While early on Sayaka saw this as meaning she wouldn’t ever have a real use for perfumes, she has since found the uses of manipulating her scent in genjutsu. By altering her scent through minimal manipulation of her chakra, she can change her own scent in the air and trigger a Genjutsu… or simply smell nice. |

The History of Wrath |
Hizashi Sayaka was the first born child of her family. Her mother had been a shinobi up to the point that she had become a Jounin, married, and given birth to her daughter. Upon having her daughter the woman, Mei, chose to retire as a shinobi in order to spend her days as a full time mother, that she might have all the time in the world for Sayaka. Her father, Ryu, was also a shinobi though after his daughter was born he continued in his profession. Sayaka’s early raising was nothing different than any other child. She spent what time she could with her father, and spent most of her time with her mother or playing with other children within the clan. She was a bright child, full of smiles and even from the day she began to walk she was always trying to help others. Mei often said her daughter had a precious mercy within her, one that the world would never be able to destroy. She was a child who loved to play and loved to dance. Smiles and laughter were her gifts to the world even from an early age. Naturally when she came of age, she was sent to the academy. As much as she begged and pleaded with her family to send her to the village’s academy with others her age, and not of the clan, she was sent to the academy set up by and for the Hizashi. She had wanted to go to another just because she wanted to be around others who weren’t of the Hizashi, she wanted to get to know different people, as she was a child very curious about the world and the people in it. Yet despite this desire, she still loved learning at the Hizashi academy. She was quick to make friends and, like other girls her age, she also had more than one crush. Her mother was always teasing her about her crushes, or cautioning her about how they could be a distraction to a girl who should be more focused on schooling, and her upcoming career. The young girl did well at the academy, graduated to Genin without much struggle it seemed. Her mother of course helped her with her studies, research, and even her training. As a Genin her mother wanted her to be determined to make her family and clan proud, but of course Sayaka was more into the boys. Her training began to slack in some ways and her mother laid into her about it, even tried grounding the girl. But Sayaka began to prove to be not only spirited, but a bit rebellious as she found ways to sneak out of the house to the point where her mother resorted to jutsu in order to keep her from bailing on her punishment. In order to get Sayaka back on track as a shinobi, and away from all the distractions she had in front of her eyes now, it would take something fairly serious. And it really did. A year into her time as a genin, Sayaka went through something that could have been far worse. One night she had chosen to sneak out of her home yet again, off to see some boy that she had been trying to date behind her mother’s back. But while she was sneaking around, she found herself in a back alley where someone tried to take her. They surprised her, bound and gagged her, and started to drag her away. The only reason they didn’t manage it was the boy she was seeing intervened. A genin himself he only managed to wound her captor and minorly at that, and even he got stabbed himself. But the commotion was enough for them to take off, and attract help for Sayaka and her boyfriend. It made her realize just how weak she really was, and how far behind she’d gotten. Despite the fact that he saved her life, Sayaka broke up with the boy before he finished his stay in the hospital. She chose to turn her attentions away from boys and back to her training, having realized the dangers in the world, even within her own village. And as she began to take her training more seriously, she also vowed to look into her own near abduction, and make sure it never happened again. It seemed like a silly promise, but she still tried to stick to it. As she began to train more and more, she also began to hear that the children of clan members were disappearing. She had been one of the first attempts, and since then they were taken at younger ages, pre-academy age, but it happened as rare as ever six months. Every time she heard about it, she couldn’t help but wonder if it was the same people. Knowing she wasn’t of a rank to look into the matter further, she buried herself in her training to the point where she finally became ready for her own exam. After spending three years as a genin, she was put in a fight against another genin to see who was ready to rank up. Much to her surprise, her opponent was the very same boy she had dated at the time of her near-abduction. As soon as he saw her, it was clear he was still upset over the break up, and very determined to win. He was best trained in taijutsu, while at the time Sayaka was almost all Ninjutsu, knowing only enough Taijutsu to use her Kama. The pair fought for almost an hour, and the only reason it came out a draw instead of Sayaka’s loss was she managed to evade her opponent long enough to tire him, mostly through the use of clones to distract him and use his anger as a way to keep him off focus and off balance. Her opponent was not promoted, due to how quickly he lost himself in the fight and how often he let himself be distracted. Sayaka was promoted as she proved able to fight even when outmatched, and because of the amount of improvement she had shown since her near-abduction. As Sayaka moved into her time as a chunin, she maintained her new attitude of all training and no boys, or rather no new attachments. She had finally come to find her place in the world, that she was a shinobi, and for the moment that was all she wanted. Any day that she did not spend on mission, she spent training. She found a fellow member of the clan who would train with her, a boy as dedicated to his training as she was to hers. Her mother of course hoped that this new regimen and dedication would mean perhaps a bond with the boy, but while a friendship blossomed, no romance did at all. Honestly a year into her time as a chunin, Sayaka found another reason to dedicate herself to her training. The kidnappings had gone quiet, eight months and one hadn’t happened yet. Part of Sayaka was upset she hadn’t had a chance to take them down yet, but part of her also was glad, she hoped this meant it was all done. Unfortunately, she was wrong. Her parents gave birth to a baby boy that year, and before he was six weeks old, he was taken. The boy had come down sick and gone to the hospital for treatment, but in the night he disappeared like other children had before him. Sayaka’s parents were beside themselves in grief, her father was refused when he requested to be part of the mission to recover his son, due to how much of a wreck he had become over it. Sayaka tried to be the strong one in the family, and yet all she could think about, even as she trained, is that what almost happened to her had happened to her brother. She vowed to one day find him, convincing herself that he had to have been taken alive. When the mission turned up a failure and the kidnappers weren’t found, she constantly tried to convince herself of this. But after all that happened, she also realized something else. That to save her brother she couldn’t just be a chunin, or interested in only him. As time went on, Sayaka’s interests began to expand beyond her training, and her brother. She trained, but she also started taking walks through the village at random times, even the hospital, to keep an eye out for any signs of those that had been kidnapping clan children. She tried to get access to any information on them but was denied, the only information she could get was on her own abduction. And that was information she didn’t need, she already had all that. To get anything more, she needed to be assigned to the investigation, and at least Special Jounin. As such she worked her tail off, to the point of speaking to the shinobi in charge of that investigation and getting help in her training from her as well. Oddly enough the case she wasn’t even a part of was exactly what brought her to her next promotion. One night during one of her walks, her Sensei called them patrols, she came across someone in the hospital who wasn’t supposed to be there. By that point she knew all of the staff by face and name, and found a strange nurse in the nursery with the newborns. While she managed to take her into custody, the woman had taken a poison already and died before she could be interviewed. But the steps she had taken to apprehend her, and the injuries, earned her her next promotion, and finally a chance to work on the case she’d had her eyes on for a long time now. The moment Sayaka was assigned the case, the moment she achieved the rank of Special Jounin, she shifted focus but only slightly. Her mornings still began early, with intensive training, and while her early afternoons were spent with family or friends, her evenings were spent on the case. She had a single desk in her room that was covered in papers, files, and whatever other information there was available on the cases. She could see why the people hadn’t been caught yet. From time to time it seemed the ‘couriers’ (as they called themselves) were captured, but they never knew who they were taking the children to and so they were only dead ends. There was also another major question that had yet to be answered. No one knew how the children were being smuggled out of the village, or the couriers into the village. Everyone knew there was a sensor grid of sorts around the village, and every ninja who monitored it had been interviewed. In fact every time one of these incidents occurred, they were interviewed. Almost immediately Sayaka realized a simple fact, whoever was aiding them was very good at hiding the fact that they were helping. Even as she went over all the data, pulling new information on their finances and holdings, she could find no spikes in finances and money to even come up with a single suspect among the sensors. Every day she stared at this information and more, unable to solve the puzzle that was this case. There had even been moments where those that watched the sensor barrier had partners to watch them to make sure there was no ill-doing, and no one had found anything suspect. But after months of pouring over the information, Sayaka found something very important. She found a barely-discernable pattern among the kidnappings, and she figured out when the next taking would be. What had taken months and years between her and others was suddenly settled down to mere moments and Sayaka set up spies in the appropriate places, putting herself in the most important place, the hospital nursery. That night not only was a courier taken, but the people they were to meet was taken and the sensor who had betrayed their village was captured. The mission had gone off without a hitch and Sayaka could breathe easier. Her family still had a great deal to mourn as they learned the youngest addition to their family was dead, but they felt they had gotten him the justice necessary. And by catching those who had both taken and killed him, Sayaka had secured her promotion to Jounin. As a Jounin Sayaka began to smile again. She began to take an interest in other shinobi as love partners and even showed it wasn’t just the men she had an interest in. Though unlike her time as a child she never let it take over her time and her life. She still kept to her morning training routine, and in the afternoon she began scouring the training grounds for the younger generation who had been at it for too long. She had a soft spot for those who tried so hard and yet couldn’t seem to make much headway. She loved to take them under her wing and to train them, showing a more motherly side to her own nature that had until now been unknown. The unveiling of this motherly nature of course brought another desire from the woman. She wanted to become a mother, she wanted her own family. For a woman as beautiful as she, even with what those in the village viewed as her ‘defects’, it wasn’t difficult to find a man who could love her and she him. They had even gone so far as to get engaged. But then after three years of silence, the unthinkable happened. Another child of a clan was kidnapped, just as before. Sayaka was suddenly angry, she became almost a whirlwind of rage they said as she interrogated those who ran the sensor grid one by one. Her primary target? The man who replaced the previous betrayer. He was the only new one, and as Sayaka dug deeper, she found he had been the one who ‘babysit’ the previous betrayer. When his home was raided a sizeable amount of money was found stashed away, and Sayaka knew she had her man. She spared no cruelty in getting the information she required of him, in finding out who his contact was. From there it seemed a simple thing. She disguised herself as him using a simple and basic henge to meet his contact, to capture that contact. Once more she spared no cruelty in finding out the next person to go after. The woman was on the warpath, the embodiment of absolute wrath as she hunted down these kidnappers. Over the following months she found out they were slavers, and by time she got to their camp the men were practically condemned. Though she favored her clan techniques, she chose a far more brutal way to dispatch the men. Using her kama she spilled blood like she had never thought she would before, with a dangerous calm in her eyes and voice that only betrayed the level of rage that was on her mind. By this point those clan children weren’t just someone else’s… they were hers. They were all her little brother, and she had no mercy for those who had taken them, sold them, killed them, and even worse. At some point the woman even picked up a whip, often used to punish those taken, she used it to punish those in charge. She returned home wounded, and in several shades of blood that were not her own. She gave no apologies for the slaughter of the guilty, and brought home over twenty children who had survived their captivity. She brought a generation back to the village unharmed, and earned herself the nickname ‘The Sun’s Wrath’. At this time she was promoted to Bannin, but the woman chose not to allow her work to stop there. One of the reasons the men were able to continue this atrocity against the village and her people was due to their ability to operate anonymously. They kept a headquarters in the desert, its location always changing, so that it couldn’t be found unless you knew exactly what you were looking for. To make sure this not only happened again, but to also make sure none of Suna’s enemies could do such a thing to work against the village as a whole, Sayaka began gathering others to her to help build additional defenses for the village. She set out various outposts in random locations through the desert. Some were set up so from most distances they looked like simple sand dunes, others set up to look like a pile of rocks jutting up and out of the ground. These locations all would serve as stopping points for various patrols and manned outposts. The patrols could take much needed breaks out of the sun and the outposts would provide a defense the village desperately required. The results of these labors, yet to come. |
