Physical Features: Shoichi has a light frame. He is toned but not particularly muscular, and it’s obvious that he does not get much sun. He has no visible scars or markings save for a small diamond tattoo on the middle finger of each hand.
Clothing/Accessories: Shoichi wears a plain, dark-blue hakama over a similarly colored kimono. His obi is a steel-grey and conceals several cases in which Shoichi keeps his ninja tools. Shoichi’s feet are adorned with jikatabi that reach mid shin. His forehead protector is worn proudly on his forhead, because that is where is goes.
Personality: Shoichi is, for lack of a better word, an asshole. He is arrogant, derisive, dismissive, and wholeheartedly self-absorbed. He views others of lower or equal standing to himself as bothersome, and rarely considers that they could have anything beneficial to offer to him or society save for quiet subservience. His tone is most often condescending or mocking in nature, and he only speaks to others if he must or if he is feeling particularly gracious. He views the shinobi arts as a means to obtain power, and power as a means to subjugate the weak and undeserving. He has very little loyalty to his own family, as they are both poor and non-shinobi. He holds loyalty for two things only: himself, and his village. The village is, to Shoichi, a symbol of power that is unmatched in the world. The Leaf Village represents the superiority of shinobi, and the absolute god-like power that can be attained through the study and mastery of the shinobi arts.
Though completely uninterested in anyone he considers beneath himself, Shoichi has the utmost respect for those above him. He not only craves power and the prestige that comes along, but understands very well his place in the world. He would never dare to show disrespect to a higher ranking or more powerful shinobi, and does not choose battles he cannot win. As such, he is viewed as an excellent student and obedient shinobi, despite his personality quirks.

This process takes one post to complete. During this illusion, the caster’s real location is hidden, and he or she may use the time to relocate or withdraw. This is a purely defensive jutsu, as the short duration does not allow time for an attack.

The user will form seals targeting any party that sees them do this. The target(s) will see four parts of a stone coffin rising from the ground to entomb them. The pillars will rise to the Left, right, front, and to the back of them. These pillars rise with a speed of 5. If “caught” by the jutsu the illusion will last for 1 post during which the victim will see the inside of the coffin (though they are not physically bound in any way.)

The sword will be drawn to point towards the target and the earth will appear to split apart, creating a six-foot wide, seemingly endless chasm that extends to the current position of the target.

Over the course of 3 posts, the light will begin to fade from the victim’s surroundings making the world darker and darker as if night was falling. By the third post it will be as if night has fallen, greatly hindering vision. This genjutsu lasts 5 posts.

Hirata Shoichi was born to very nice people. He grew up in a very nice family in a very nice neighborhood. Nothing could have been better for the boy. His parents were not rich, but made a very good living making and repairing garments. He never wanted for food or toys. He always had beautiful, hand-made clothing that was the envy of others his age. Life for Shoichirou was a sunny day in the spring fresh and full of light and beauty.
Unfortunately, Shoichi was nothing like his parents. He was neither pleasant nor polite, and no amount of education, discipline, or admonishment could change him. Willful from a young age, the boy seemed to thrive on conflict. He would often talk back to his parents, destroy the toys they bought him, and turn up his nose at the food served to him. Even as a toddler it seemed to his parents as if he thought he was too good for the life they offered him. As he grew older he became a thorn in his parent’s side. He would constantly get into trouble at school for disrespecting his classmates and causing arguments. By the time he was 10 the boy had no friends, and earned looks of disgust from most his age.
Shoichi was aware, of course, about how others viewed him, but he was unconcerned. It was the boy’s opinion that none of his peers mattered anyway. They were as smart, talented, or important as himself, and he could care less if they lived or died. Only one thing seemed to interest him. Shinobi; the shadowy figures that very top of the Leaf hierarchy, it was these figures that commanded the most respect, the most power in the village. Shoichi had, by this time, determined to be one of them. After the decision was made the boy never looked back, enrolling in the academy as soon as possible. His parents were thrilled, thinking the shinobi would straighten the boy out.
By the time Shoichi graduated he was adept at genjutsu; furthering his tendency towards the manipulation of others. He held respect for his superiors, but still viewed most around him as no more than insects. It was a sad day for his parents when he graduated, as it seemed as though their last hope for a normal, healthy child was lost to them. Shoichi was, in the eyes of the village, an adult now; a full-fledged member of the warrior class.
