HIREHITO YURI
’Shi no Tenshi’
[“Bring the night…”]
General Information Age: 24
Gender: Female
Height: 5’7’’
Weight: 140 lbs
Physical Features:
- Face/head: Yuri’s hair is long and black, reaching down to her mid back though she often keeps it back in either a single braid or a bun so that it is mostly out of her way during a fight or her work as a shinobi. Her eyes are a vibrant blue and often people remark on just how expressive they are. Everything she feels seems to be betrayed by these eyes, though she also has enough control to hide her emotions on mission. She bears no scars on her face nor tattoos.
- Body: Yuri has spent much of her life training her physical body, and it shows. She is extremely well muscled, keeping herself at the pinnacle of shape that she might be able to use her body in any way necessary on mission or otherwise. While she has no tattoos she has plenty of scars littering her body from both work and training.
- Notable Features:While she has no tattoos or piercings, Yuri has plenty of scars. The most notable of which are one down her back, parallel to her spine, and another that crosses her torso from her upper right hand shoulder and down across her body to her left hip. She also has had her teeth all filed to a point and sharpened.
Personality:
- General: Yuri is most well known for her professional demeanor. She seems cold and quiet, always working on ideas and tactics for her next missions. But she does have moments where she functions in a more ‘average’ capacity. She can be very caring for those closest to her and even kind. Yet knowing that such kindness can be seen as weakness, as can family ties, it is not often that she is like this in a public setting.
- Hopes/Dreams: Yuri has a strong desire for her own family but knows that it might not be wise given her current occupation in the shinobi world. Her only real hope and dream is to keep her village safe from its enemies, as well as to destroy those same enemies. In the back of her mind she hopes one day to step up into a high leadership position in the village, perhaps even Kage, but that is a thought she keeps to herself.
- Fears: Like most shinobi and assassins she fears failure above all.
- Combat Mentality: No matter what she learns, Yuri is a taijutsu user at heart. She prefers to be up close to her enemy for the kill but also likes to “play with her food” much like a cat. She’ll often toy with them before finally ending them, unless her anger gets the best of her.

The Bright Child
Hirehito Yuri was born of course to two parents, but within six months both were killed on separate missions. First it was Yuri’s mother that died, on her first mission after giving birth to her daughter no less. Then a few weeks later it was her father. He had been contemplating taking a step back from the shinobi life to raise his daughter to a certain age before continuing on, but he never made the decision and as a result he died, leaving Yuri as an orphan. But the pair had family still, and not just because they were connected to the Hirohito as members of the tertiary family.
Yuri’s mother had a sister who was unable to conceive children of her own. When Yuri was orphaned, the woman took Yuri into her home with no hesitation. Her aunt had her own spouse of course, but another woman who was born of no particular clan and with bright red hair. She stood out in Yuri’s mind because even growing up she somehow knew that this woman had chosen to be another mother to her, with no familial obligation. In fact the two women who adopted her were, in a lot of ways, looked down upon for their coupling. Yuri’s aunt caught a break of sorts, being unable to bear her own children, but regardless as a pair of women of the Hirehito they were expected to bear their own children, and instead found one another and adopted them.
Yuri would not go to the first academy, but the second, knowing the disadvantage she was being given was due to her mothers. But she never once complained. She happily went to the academy and settled in her first day already knowing she would set her mind to task to become as strong as she could, with or without the help of others.
That First Climb Yuri trained herself every day, and not just at the academy. She spent a great deal of time at home training not just jutsu, but her body. By the age of nine she was a genin, graduating from the academy and taking her place in the world. Being from a tertiary family it didn’t take long to find someone who could match her either. Both of them had a strength in Taijutsu, spending day after day not only sparring but training themselves and their own physical strength. By time they were set to fight for the chance to become chunin both were about the age of thirteen.
The fight didn’t last long, but not because either was so much stronger than the other. Pure taijutsu fights have moments that can make a decision quick, or someone dead. The pair went at it for awhile, both using swords and fist combined. Her partner was born of the main Hirohito family, and the moment when Yuri managed to knock him out cold is one she still treasures to this day as a great memory. She had once sworn she would climb the ladder of rank on her own steam, knowing the disadvantages she would face, and here she had faced and conquered her first. Yet despite this she did not lord it over her partner, instead she spent much of her spare time as a new chunin training the boy and helping him to get stronger. When it came time for him to have another turn, he not only won, he triumphed even greater than Yuri herself did over his opponent.
The First Blood It wasn’t until Yuri was a chunin that she started to turn herself down a decided path. Before that her focus was her own body and her taijutsu, a fact that hasn’t technically changed but she knew that in the shinobi world there were many different roles to be taken on and it was as a chunin that she decided her path was one of blood. She took her first assassination mission, albeit a simple one. A possible plot had been uncovered among slaves in the village and it was Yuri who was to put a stop to it. Naturally given the resources required for what they were planting, it was a free man, a merchant actually, who was plotting against the village. His plan, as Yuri saw it, was fruitless and had no chance of success, but still an example had to be made.
The man was found dead just outside of the village on his cart. He had been bound to the seat, wrists and ankles bound away from one another, a rope tied to his neck and pulled back until he was dead. She was to bring back a ring the man wore as proof of the deed complete, and cut off his finger to do so.
It was a simple mission in so many ways, but it was enough for Yuri to discover exactly what she wanted to do as a shinobi and set to training herself to do it just as she desired.
Something Special Yuri focused all of her energy and talents on her work now. She began to seek out members of the main family, expressing her desire to work on their behalf, should they ever require it, and performing her duties as she was assigned them. Any supposed spare time she had she spent training, working her body to the point of exhaustion and resting only as required to build herself back up.
It was after a few missions at the behest of her betters that she managed to rank up to Special Jounin, and even had her first boyfriend. They were sixteen, and the boy was a part of the main family. The two spent time together when they could, though both were shinobi and as such it was difficult. The boy spent more of his time in ninjutsu than taijutsu, and as such the pair did end up on a couple of missions together as their strengths were opposite and so complimented one another. But this relationship taught Yuri the hardest lesson.
It was on a mission that the two were separated, and by the time Yuri located her target again she found that he had taken the boy hostage, thinking that would save his life. It didn’t, and Yuri was barely able to kill her target without losing her boyfriend as well. She brought him back to the village for healing, but it was the end of their relationship. He had begged Yuri not to let him die, and for Yuri she realized it was weakness to fall to his captor’s whims. While the girl did not swear off relationships, she made sure he was aware that she thought he had not been strong enough for her, and as such she had no desire to see him any longer.
’Shi no Tenshi’ It was towards the end of her time as a Special Jounin that she earned her nickname, the same mission that earned her the rank of Jounin in fact. She was nineteen years old when she was sent to take out a bandit leader. The mission was not a simple one and while she was sent alone as a necessity, it was not certain if she would return. The man’s camp was in a system of caves that had been converted to living and storage space for his entire crew, and Yuri would have to work her way through the entire thing in order to get to the leader and kill him.
When she left to take part of the mission she was told her best bet might be to sneak her way through as the crew slept, but upon arrival she realized that wouldn’t be possible. The way quarters were set up and the way their guards were posted, she couldn’t sneak her way past every single one of them.
By the end of her mission, not only was her target dead but the entire crew was wiped out. Exactly how she managed it was only known to higher ups, but it is rumored to have been completed due to a multitude of tasks. Some say it was poisons she used, poisoning the crew’s food and drink, in addition to killing others, others say it was ninjutsu despite the fact that Yuri’s talents boasted more in the realm of tai. Rumors flew, and so her nickname was born, but also she was promoted to Jounin.
Life Continues By now Yuri has had a couple of other boyfriends since her first, but none that have lasted long due to her distaste for weakness, including the weakness having loved ones presents. She continues to spend time training when she is not on mission, being picky as to what kind of missions she takes, preferring the sort that require the spilling of blood.
