Vanguard A squad initially comprised of chuunin with considerable offensive skills generally partaking in missions that are likely to contain combat. While the name does indicate that the squad would be in the front of any attack, it also carries some metaphorical meaning as this group is also expected to lead the way for a new generation of Konoha shinobi.
