Physical Features:
- Face/head: Ryu's piercing blue eyes are a reflection of his father's, and his flowing red hair is just the same. He keeps his hair rather wild and freeflowing however, and so long that it reaches his lower back. His face is still rather soft given his age, but the angles of maturity are beginning to show in his jawline.
- Body: Ryu's body is thin and lithe, an indication of his intense Iaido training focused mostly on speed and coordination. However, there is clear muscle definition as well, including clear biceps and as much of a six pack as a 13 year old could have. His skin is quite pale given the almost unending mists of Kiri, but it doesn't appear sickly or ghostly. He bears scars here and there as the result of training and exercises, but he wears them with pride as a show of his constant improvement.
- Notable Features:Ryu's most notable feature is a tattoo on the back of his neck, the symbol of the Karagata family. This kraken shaped tattoo is usually hidden by his hair, but a close look will show tentacles wrapping around the back of his neck and ending on the sides of it.
Personality:
- General: Since Ryu idolizes his late father, Overseer Ryoga, it's no surprise to anyone who knows him that he emulates many of Ryoga's characteristics. Ryu believes that power is everything; Without it, you are worthless, not even worth the effort of killing. His loyalty to Kirigakure's ideology is unquestionable, and he has no qualms over any hard decisions that must be made for the sake of the village's benefit. The weak do not deserve to live in Ryu's eyes, but the strong deserve his respect. And in his eyes, the word 'strength' has various definitions, no two of which are quite the same. Even the run down slave has strength, if he reaches deep enough to find it. His mother, Overseer Ren, is a prime example of that fact.
The young boy has little free time, spending what little time he does have reading or relaxing his body with things like a massage or hot spring. He spends a good deal of time with his twin sister Amaya, as the two are rivals. They live together, go on missions together, train together; much of their shinobi career has been spent with each other. He has a general indifference towards most people, save the few who prove themselves or happen to catch his eye. However, he is capable of working as part of a team, however much he may prefer to fight solo. In conclusion, Ryu is his father's son, and anyone who knew Ryoga would know that at a single glance. He is a dedicated, honorable warrior who will do whatever it takes to prove himself to Kirigakure, in the honor of his family name. - Hopes/Dreams: To one day assume the mantle of Overseer, like his father before him.
- Fears: Tarnishing his father's memory by being a failure.
- Combat Mentality:Ryu has followed in his father, Late Overseer Kazuki Ryoga's footsteps to the letter, and has dedicated his life to mastering the ways of the blade as his father did. He is far beyond many his age in this art, but at the cost of pretty much everything else. Without his sword, Ryu is nothing, but with it, he can prove to be quite a fearsome opponent.

Iaido Kenjutsu:*[Iaido • Swift Draw]Iaido Kenjutsu is a sword style originating from the Land of Tea that focuses on the fact that when first drawn, the linear motion and force of pulling a katana from its sheath are able to generate unusually fast slashes. Iaido capitalizes on this, it's samurai equally skilled in close range hand-to-hand fighting and then being able to switch to single fast slashes and stabs before returning to previous combat, making them unpredictable fighters.

D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 5 Taijutsu, 8 Speed
With the most widely recognized attack of Iaido style, the user draws their katana at a very quick speed, making a powerful slash in tangent with the draw. This technique is dependent on the user's overall reaction speed as it is usually only used when an opening presents itself or when the user needs to draw their sword quickly.

D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 8 Speed
A technique developed out of need to protect himself from other weapon users, Block is simple in its use, but highly effective when used right. By partially drawing their sword, the user of this technique is able to use the back of their blade to block incoming weapon attacks should they time it correctly. The user must be careful when using this technique, should the attacker have a high enough strength, this technique could very well shatter the user's weapon.

D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 8 Speed
A simple technique, Hilt Strike is designed for moments when the target is to close for the user to fully draw their sword. Gripping their hilt in a downward dagger position, the user will quickly draw their blade out as far as they can, and use the butt of the hilt to strike their target in an attempt to push them back and set them up for their other attacks.

Prerequisite: 8 Speed
A simple, yet very effective technique, Cutting The Eyes is a Line Draw aimed at the target's eyes. The user attempts to horizontally slash the target's eyes in order to remove their eyesight.

The technique is recognized by its signature stance of one hand just below the opening of the katana sheath and the other firmly on the sword. Drawing the sword in one swift motion, the user creates a horizontal or vertical slash in front of themselves before sheathing the sword, often chaining these strikes together for greater effect.

Years of training have enabled Ryu to know the telltale signs of an incoming attack. When such a situation arises, his eyes will instinctively search for the most vulnerable area of his opponent's attacking body, and his body will follow suit with a swift strike aimed for that target area.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 8 Speed, 15 Taijutsu
A modified version of the original Line Draw, Reverse Line Draw is designed for use when one only has the use of one hand. Rather than drawing the blade in the typical fashion, the user will grip the hilt as they would when holding a sword so that the blade is pointing down. While the technique is the same as the original, the modified drawing requires an increase in skill to use. The user still draws their blade in one swift motion, creating a vertical, or, horizontal slash in front of themselves. The user often waits to sheath their sword until they regain the use of their other hand.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A technique Ryu learned while watching his father, Ryu has practiced the art of the approach, and can utilize torque generated in his back leg to shift himself forward with impressive speed in a single, sliding motion. He will push off with his back leg, sliding forward on his front leg for a distance equal to his speed in meters, delivering a Swift Draw once he reaches the end of this concentrated dash. This maneuver, the slide and the slash, are both delivered with +6 speed, but his accuracy is sacrificed as a result, resulting in -6 Taijutsu until the maneuver is complete.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Ryu will attempt to fake out his opponent by aiming a Swift Draw for his opponent's body, only to pull his hilt back towards him at the last second. Doing so stops this strike mid swing, but leads quickly into a stab as he thrusts the blade forward in an attempt to puncture his target's body.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Ryu will begin with a swift spinning maneuver, taking a step back from an incoming strike to avoid the strike in question as best he can. In the process of this spin, as his sword's hilt is hidden from view behind his body, Ryu will grab hold of the hilt and deliver a swift horizontal strike while he drops to a knee, aiming to bisect his target at the hip. This entire action happens with surprising speed, and is a great answer to an opponent's advancing offense.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
After drawing his sword for a strike, Ryu's off hand will yank the sheath out from his belt and use it to block a retaliatory strike against him. This is dangerous, as a shattered sheath could prevent him from using any other Iaido techniques, but in a pinch this could save his life and open up an overcommitted opponent.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Ryu begins by aiming a quick Hilt Strike for a target's jaw in an attempt to knock their head back, while also freeing his sword from it's sheath in preparation for the next strike. After the hilt strike, Ryu will continue with the path of motion of the strike, raising his arm high into the air before turning the blade and bringing it straight down in an attempt to slash through their skull.

Kazuki Ryu and his twin sister, Kazuki Amaya, were born to Kazuki Ryoga and his wife Ren. They began life as the children of two warriors with a certain standing in the village. However at the age of five the pair accompanied their parents to a grand event, the Festival of Lights in Iron Country. On their return they were attacked and their father stayed back to fight the enemy, a large group of bandits lead by a trio of missing ninja. They never realized that when their mother went back to find him, it would be to return with his body. Kazuki Ryoga was the Overseer of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist and the funeral was befitting a man of his position. But it was the beginning of a terrible time for the family, and not just because of the loss of Ryoga. A year after his death Amaya’s mother became too distraught and committed suicide.
Her death left Ryu and his sister in the hands of their grandparents where Ryu would learn the ways of the blade not from his father, but from his grandfather. Being just as stubborn as Ryoga, Ryu butted heads with his grandpa constantly, but the man's sword skills had given rise to Ryoga's... There was no denying that such teachings would lead Ryu along a similar path. He trained day after day, reading old journals his parents left behind to get to know their work and their lives. As he went into the academy, he went in with a chip on his shoulder and seemed to practically refuse to try and make friends. He focused almost entirely on the work, and on nothing else.
When Ryu graduated the academy, alongside his twin sister, with great pride and a beaming future. Finally a Genin, Ryu was ready to prove that he was his father's son, and that his sword would bring great glory and fame to the Kazuki name. Then the news slapped him in the face that his assigned rival would be none other than his twin, Amaya.
