Sages around the world are those who can access the natural energies of the world and use them in place of chakra in exchange for extraordinary abilities. Shio, a conduit of the universe and a speaker of truths, has learned that he can utilize the concept of Sage Mode to bridge the gap between reality and illusion via Genjutsu utilizing Sage Mode. This ability is [Control] and [Genjutsu] based, the two being required to perform jutsu per rank.. These genjutsu are, in essence, placing a genjutsu on reality. In short, Shio can use these technique to create an illusion in relation to a natural law, natural component, or concept, and Shio can ‘delete’ that law in isolation. Foremost, this ability does not allow the user to take genjutsu and turn them into ninjutsu, or create illusions and turn them into reality. Sage techniques consume chakra at a heightened rate, because it requires converting chakra into natural energy. It should be assumed a technique is roughly +1 rank in stamina consumption. Like all genjutsu, these techniques have durations, and area affected is limited to the range of the [Control + Genjutsu]/4 meters.

Happy to listen to other ideas, but the idea of genjutsuing the universe is universally no'd. A few example jutsu of the high and low end of what you're trying to do might help your case, but as is, it's a direct no.

Could also use a little clarification, the wording makes it sound like your sage stat is a 9th stat, but I think your intention is to just take [genjutsu+control]/2 to make a derived stat?

I'd argue that genjutsu does not interact with the brain/CNS because we have the ability to genjutsu elemental bodies. Otherwise you're saying that in any event someone with an elemental body is in a genjutsu, they can simply disband their body to get rid of the genjutsu.

On the basis of that alone, we can support that chakra is the medium in which genjutsu are done, not the nervous system, even if the nervous system is typically want reflects the confounding done by genjutsu.

I'd also argue that because S/T specifies that the universe is self correcting, and operates under some force beyond simply existing, that requires that the universe has some level of self-awareness. In order to correct something wrong with itself, there has to be some mechanism to recognize what is wrong. So I don't think the tree analogy is very accurate because we have a system in play already that recognizes some level of action performable by the universe.

It'd be super helpful if the "no" is
