Ishiguro, Kisuke
-|- Null Blade -|-

-|- Be like a blade; sharp and dangerous -|-

General Information Age: 15
Gender: Male
Height: 5'9
Weight: 145 lbs
Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Gaunt and bony would describe Kisuke's face rather well. His cheekbones are sharp and defined, as is his rather under-developed jaw. His gray eyes are a bit large for his face, and they often give away his emotion as a result. He has ridiculously long eye lashes and perfectly sculpted eye brows. This usually results in bouts of jealousy from females he's known along the way. His mouth is usually in a slight smirk and he can usually be found chewing on something at all times - toothpicks being the most common. His gray, unkempt hair generally falls down ever so slightly into his eyes but is generally a mess atop his head at any given time. He has a piercing in his left ear.
  • Body: Kisuke is a short, lean young man. He has sacrificed big muscles and brawn for a lean, efficient build. He has well-defined chest, abs, and back, with thin but toned arms and legs. His entire body is very tan - almost exotic looking. His hands and feet are a bit on the small side. He is so in shape that he rarely ever produces sweat, even in the extreme heat.
  • Notable Features:----
Clothing/Accessories: For clothing, he always wears his Kumogakure headband tightly around his neck, like a sweatband. He then wears a layer of fishnet clothing over his entire upper and lower body. Over that, he chooses to wear rather loose fitting open front shirt with sleeves that go down to his elbows. Around his waist is a white cloth that starts just above his belly button and extends down over the top of his pants. For pants, he wears tight-fitting black pants that go down to his shins, with a pouch on his left leg for projectile weapons. Around his wrists and ankles are tightly bound gauze to the start of his hands and feet respectively. For shoes, he wears inch high wooden clog sandals. Over his back sits his katana, and his tanto sits perpendicular to his waist on the back, the handle barely sticking out on his left side. Occasionally, he will wear a typical flak jacket over his usual attire, those he finds the thing hideous.

Personality: Kisuke has modeled himself after the great samurai from the books he's read. Always gracious, accommodating and polite - sometimes to a fault. He speaks very much in a poetic way that seems to be straight out of a novel - often times losing his meaning behind the layers of abstraction applied to produce such beautiful sentences. He has a deep feeling of duty to the people of his country and not the ruling class, sometimes acting in opposition of his village to support the common folk. Because of this nature, he's been labeled a 'hippy' and generally looked down upon by his fellow shinobi. Kisuke takes this in stride - he never fit in with the shinobi anyway. This friction can sometimes cause tempers to boil over and fights on more than one occasion.

Because of this seclusion, Kisuke is usually alone. This suits him well as he is usually training, studying or performing some sort of public service - when not on a mission. He is a very ritualistic person who usually likes to have his entire day planned out and stick to it. His mornings begin at 4 a.m. with various 'kata' and is usually followed up with tea and some personal reflection time. Afterward, Kisuke performs his daily duties as a shinobi of the Hidden Cloud and citizen of Lightning Country. You'll never catch him walking the streets without a warm smile on his face.

His family situation is a bit strained. His father resents him for being a 'stain upon the clan' which has caused him great anguish internally. He lives with his traveling Uncle who's never home and sometimes gets to visit his mother and brother. Kisuke feels the urge to be a positive influence when around his brother, and frowns upon those who are the opposite. This can sometimes lead to him being overly critical or coming across as 'holier than thou'. He has also taken a liking to his world-traveling uncle, trying to learn all he can about ancient civilizations and cultures, both within the shinobi world and outside of it. He has so far found them all more appealing than the shinobi culture he currently resides in.
  • General: Courteous, Respectful, Disciplined, Poetic, Righteous, Hardworking
  • Hopes/Dreams: He wishes to serve the people of his country well and be of use. He wants his name remembered throughout history as a great swordsman.
  • Fears: Kisuke has a fear of being useless, or even worse, forgotten.
  • Combat Mentality: Kisuke's skillset is suited very well to that of a solitary fighter. He is on his way to becoming a master swordsman and uses strictly close quarters combat against his foes. When forced into a team dynamic, his power can be worked around to form effective strategies, though he is sometimes told to 'hang back'. He prefers to end the battle before it begins by dissuading his opponent and appealing to reason if possible, though it rarely is.

Kukyo (Emptiness)Show
A katana-like sword given to him by his uncle, a world-traveling historian who obtained it from a temple in another part of the world, away from the shinobi. It has a unique appearance, almost futuristic, yet strangely modern at the same time. It’s white/black/red color scheme makes gives it a mesmerizing appearance. It is perpetually sharp, even the slightest touch will draw blood. The appearance changes when entering Kuuju Ni Burado, which is outlined below. Inscribed upon the blade is some strange dialect that must’ve died out long ago. The blade is about 2 and a half ft long, with a handle big enough for 1 and a half hands (~6 inches) for a total of ~ 3 ft. This blade is slung over his shoulder, where it can be drawn with his right hand. The blade has a sort of slight 'hum' to it when in Kisuke's hands.

The sword is said to be "The Ultimate Weapon in Attack and Defense". This is manifested by being both a weapon (the sword) and armor (the sheath). When the sword is removed from its sheath, the sheath begins to wiggle before spreading to cover the user's entire body and hardening into shogun-like armor. The armor is somewhat 'malleable' in that the armor can change slightly to produce different functions based on the situation. This form's finer details are dictated by jutsu that scale off of the [Taijutsu] stat. The armor has a [Strength] of 20.

Abilities
First Ability
Ishiguro:
Denjiton
Born to the Ishiguro clan, this user is able to utilize Disruption Release, a fusion composed of Raiton and Fuuton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require Denjiton. Denjiton has a cancelling effect.
Passive (Canceling)Show
Denjiton is used to cancel the effects of chakra, namely jutsu. Denjiton functions by creating areas where chakra is weakened and at higher levels outright canceled. When attempting to Cancel an opponents jutsu, the Strength of the Denjiton jutsu and the Control of the opponents jutsu are taken into account. If the Strength of the Denjiton jutsu is greater than the Control of the opponents jutsu, the jutsu will Cancel. The Control of the opponents jutsu is assumed to be equal to the jutsus rank unless there is a prerequisite on the jutsu for another Control amount which is then used, or if the jutsu is continuously channeled the Control used is the users actual Control. Jutsu and people who are Canceled dissipate into energy or become inert in the case of jutsu while people affected are unable to use chakra but are otherwise unharmed. Denjiton is incredibly difficult to master, takes large amount of control normally and for continuous jutsu larger amounts of chakra than usual per jutsu rank, but has proven itself to be an extremely dangerous element that an completely alter the flow of battle.
Dampen:
The term dampen refers to using Denjiton to lessen the quality of chakra in a specific area. Jutsu that are dampened lose strength and speed.
Second Ability
Denjiton Aura:
Denjiton Aura
Kisuke was born with a mutation of his birthright - access to Denjiton. He is affected by the [Dampening] effects of his own chakra to the point where he cannot control chakra at all. This has also caused him to 'leak' Denjiton chakra from his Tenketsu points, creating a 'Null Field' around him within which the Denjiton effects are active. When not in combat and hanging out with others, his presence has a sort of 'bumming out' effect on others, making them not want to hang out with him for very long or very often. When in combat, there are parameters to outline how the field works. Any item Kisuke touches serves as a lingering 'Null Field' anchor for half the amount of posts he touches them, or 1 post, whichever is more.

The size of the field can be increased up to [Stamina/2] meters, with Kisuke as the epicenter expanding in all directions as he moves, but cannot be limited to less than 1 meter.

Any person within the 'Null Field' will experience a loss of control equal to [Stamina/5] immediately, with a [Stamina/20] loss of control and Stamina each post afterward (rounded up).

Any technique with-in the 'Null Field' will experience a loss of Strength equal to [Stamina + Strength/5] upon cast, as long as the strength of the technique is less than Kisuke's [Strength]. If Kisuke's [Strength] is 10 or more that of the opponents jutsu, that jutsu will cancel immediately upon cast. Every post the jutsu is active within the field, the technique will receive a [Stamina+Strength/10] loss of strength.

When someone leaves the field for one full post, they will begin to regenerate at a rate of 5 Control and 2 Stamina per post until fully restored.

Because of the mutation, his chakra signature is undetectable by sensory ninja, instead of seeing a void where his aura covers.
Third Ability-------------
Taijutsu Specialist:
Having devoted their lives to mastering the art of taijutsu, this shinobi is classified as a Taijutsu Specialist. Taijutsu specialist are able to devote a total of 10 concentrations to taijutsu, unlike most people who are capped at 8. However, they are only able to devote a max of 5 concentrations to genjutsu, and a max of 5 concentrations to ninjutsu.

As a Taijutsu Specialist, [User] is able to utilize taijutsu concentrations reserved for specialists, and is able to enter the God Tier [45+] on select stats, and meaning as a specialist they can select stats to break into the God tier. These stats can only be Taijutsu, [Stamina or Control], and 2 of [Speed, Instinct, or Strength].

Kendo | Way of the SwordShow
Kendo | Way of the Sword:
Kendo is said to be the grandfather of all swordsmanship. At its core, Kendo is a philosophy - a way of life. One must strive, through rigorous training, to achieve and maintain the unity of body and mind. Kendo is an art form that teaches one to coordinate across the physical-emotional-mental dimensions. To be a Kendo master is to be in unison with one's self. One need not think, only do. The tenants of Kendo are expressed via the Kenjutsu styles founding principles:

To mold the mind and body.
To cultivate a vigorous spirit
And through correct and rigid training,
To hold in esteem human courtesy and honor.
To associate with others with sincerity.
And to forever pursue the cultivation of oneself.

Thus will one be able:
To love one's country and society;
To contribute to the development of culture;
And to promote peace and prosperity among all peoples.

In practice, this is played out via precise movements that serve a specific purpose - end the battle as efficiently as possible. Kendo users rarely make the first move, instead opting to allow their opponent to show their hand. It is only once acted upon that a practitioner of Kendo will move to strike. At lower levels, this will resemble traditional swordplay, but when observing a true master one may think they are watching true poetry in motion at the effortless efficiency one is capable of when truly in sync with one's self. This style truly excels when facing another swordsman and is its main use in combat.

Practitioners of Kendo generally practice 'kata', which are repeated practices of small tasks over long periods of time. These instill discipline and help the actions in these katas become second nature to the user. Many Kendo users will practice the same set of kata for their entire lives.

Requirements: [Sword Weapons], [Acrobatics], [Perception]
Kendo • Duel
D-ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Kendo users are trained daily in one on one combat and thus have refined their senses to be able to keenly focus on a single enemy. They are able to block out all other distractions and keep their mind on the goal.

Kendo • Parry
D-ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Pre-req: Kendo • Duel
As a technique designed to combat another swordsman, Kendo practitioners are adept at fending off sword attacks. As such, they are capable of blocking any attack launched at them, from any angle, that is within [3] Taijutsu of them, while staying relatively still and in the same spot.

Kendo • Switch
D-ranked Taijutsu Discipline
One who's honed their skills with their blade is able to switch hands with no drop off in performance. They are capable to doing so mid-combat, often to their advantage.

Kendo • Studios
D-rank Taijutsu Discipline
A good swordsman is always watching his opponents move to understand how to defeat them. Using their honed knowledge, a Kendo user is able to study their opponent and determine if they're better or worse than them with the blade, based on their body language, condition of their blade, and other factors.

Kendo • Glance
D-ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
This technique is used to catch an opponents blade with their own while angling the blade ever so slightly, redirecting the blow to away from their body. Those with a strength higher than that of the user can brute force through this technique.

Kendo • Redirect
D-ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
This technique is used to guard against projectiles. The user is able to use their blade to knock the projectiles into the ground around them, [Taijutsu/5] per post at most. If their [Taijutsu] is 10 less than their opponents, this technique will fail. If their [Taijutsu] is 10 or more above their opponent, they can knock it back at them with the same strength it was thrown.

Kendo • Moon Behind the Clouds
D-ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
This technique is used when an opponent is attacking. The user will make an attempt to stay in position until the last second. Their body will suddenly react, avoiding the attack while simultaneously positioning themselves in such a way that their opponent's vulnerable.

--

Kendo • The Blade Cuts
C-ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
This technique is purely offensive where the user makes two successive, independent strikes to the opponent in the usual amount of times it takes for a single strike. The blade moves so fast it will appear as if the opponent was only struck once to someone who's [Taijutsu] is not equal to the users.

Kendo • Swirling Breeze
C-rank Taijutsu Maneuver
This technique uses centrifugal force to generate extra power behind the swinging of their blade, as well as add an element of unpredictability to their attack. The user will need to be in striking range to initiate this technique. They will transfer all weight to their left foot while simultaneously turning it, causing them to spin. As they come around, they will strike with their blade at the opponent. They can then continue to spin for up to 5 spins, creating a [+1 to Strength] with each successive spin while giving up [-1 to Speed] as they are limited in their movement while spinning.

Kendo • Mirror Step
C-ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Pre-req: Kendo • Duel
The user has become so attuned to fighting a single opponent that they can analyze the opponent's movements, matching them in such a way to keep the dynamics of the battlefield constant. The user is not mirroring the same movement's as the opponent but instead matching the effects of their opponent's movements in such a way that their opponent does not get a positional advantage on them.

Kendo • Pedals in the Wind
C-ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Users of Kendo have become so adept with the blade that they are able to follow their opponent's movement so finely, that they're able to dodge their blade without needing to raise their blade to meet their opponents'. Because of their limber body, they are capable of bending in many ways at virtually every joint in their body, sometimes even contorting into unnatural positions to avoid a strike. This technique can be used to match with those whom have equal of less [Speed[ than them.

Kendo • Battle Trance
C-rank Taijutsu Stance
This is the first stance with-in the Kendo tree that focuses on the body, mind, and spirit being in sync. At this level, the swordsman is able to block out distraction and minor cuts are ignored. Their thoughts are quickly turned into action. While in this state, the user gets a [+2 to Taijutsu, Strength, Speed] while suffering a [-3 to Instinct, Stamina], as their mind's thoughts are being directly translated to their bodies actions. Entering this stance is usually triggered by the user running their middle finger down the back of the blade from tip to hilt while closing their eyes. Once their hand reaches the hilt, their eyes will open and they're in the trance. At this level, there are no visible changes to the user. The user may exit this stance at any time and it lasts until the user exits it.

--

Kendo • Know Thine Enemy
B-rank Taijutsu Discipline
Pre-reqs: Kendo • Studios
A season swordsman is capable of recognizing the styles and techniques of the opposition, allowing them to study them before the fight even begins. Before a battle, Kendo users are able to deduce their opponent's skill level by their body language, how they wear and hold a blade and their physique. This allows the user to always know what type of enemy he's facing so he knows how to fight them. Users of this technique are able to determine [Speed], [Strength], and [Taijutsu] abilities of those whom they're fighting.

Kendo • The Blade Slices
B-rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Pre-reqs: Kendo • The Blade Cuts
This technique is purely offensive where the user makes five successive, independent strikes to the opponent in the usual amount of times it takes for a single strike. The blade moves so fast it will appear as if the opponent was only struck once to someone who's [Taijutsu] is not equal to the users.
Bushido | Way of the WarriorShow
Bushido | Way of the Warrior:
Bushido has been practiced by warriors for generations, said to instill discipline and a strict moral code with-in ones daily life. Whereas Kendo instills how a swordsman should act, Bushido broadens this ideal to be the code of conduct any warrior should follow. The two are generally practiced in unison to create a well-rounded person with a honed blade and a disciplined body and mind. The tenants of Bushido help to define the art.

I. Rectitude | 義 This is the strongest and most important virtue. It is one's power to decide upon a course of action in accordance with reason. It is the conviction that one is to always follow the reasonable conclusion - to die when one should, to strike when one should, to hold one's blade when one should.

II. Courage | 勇 Those who study Bushido are expected to act bravely - but courage is more than that. Courage is the practice of bravery as it aligns with Rectitude. One who perceives what is right and does not act are cowards. A true Bushido follower will always take action on the side of righteousness.

III. Benevolence | 仁 Bushido offers great powers to kill, and those with those powers are expected to demonstrate restraint and judgment on when, and more importantly, when not to use them. It is rare that one must kill, and thus practitioners of Bushido rarely do so unless the ending of that life serves a greater purpose.

IV. Respect | 礼 It is often said that warriors are brash. Bushido turns this notion on its head, instead insisting that a warrior should always consider everyone's feelings and, in fact, act almost out of love of others. One should understand the motives of those around them and seek to be courteous to all - even those with differing ideas. Especially those with differing ideas.

V. Sincerity| 誠 When a warrior says they will perform an action, it is as good as done. Bushido practitioners need not 'promise' nor 'give their word'. Speaking and doing are the same action. Their words are sincere always - they never say anything they do not intend to follow through on.

VI. Honour | 名誉 The decisions one makes are a reflection of one's self. These decisions are the projections to the rest of the world of who the warrior is. Thus, every decision is weighed and only once sure will a Bushido follower act - and their actions afterward are deliberate and without hesitation.

VII. Duty | 忠義 No debt will ever go unpaid to a true warrior. They are loyal to those who were there for them when needed - and will pay them back many times over if given half the chance. Nothing is above those heeded the call for help.

VIII. Self-Control | 自制 A warrior must uphold an absolute moral standard that transcends logic. There is always a right and wrong - no in-between. To those who practice Bushido, the right answer is something one 'feels' from the onset and is not to be questioned by logic. Trust in one's instincts and adherence to their moral code supersedes all.

Bushido • As an Oak
D-rank Taijutsu Discipline
Bushido users have honed their body to be as strong as an oak. As a result, they are able to ignore minor cuts and pain, as well as absorb hits up to their own [Strength] without moving.

Bushido • Devout Conviction
D-rank Taijutsu Discipline
Bushido users are of reliance on their core principals. As such, if a practitioner makes up their mind - they are unable to be persuaded against their belief of what is right by others.

Bushido • Halt
D-rank Taijutsu Manuever
Due to having honed their body to insane levels, they are able to perform impressive feats of strength. By placing one foot infront and one behind and bending their knees slightly creates a strong base. They then place their weak hand behind their back and simply hold out their strong hand with their palm facing forward and fingers together in an attempt to meet a moving object coming towards them. If their [Strength] is greater than the [Strength] of the person/object moving towards them, the person/object will stop in its tracks.

--

Bushido • Heart of a Lion
C-rank Taijutsu Discipline
Those of the Bushido have been trained to ignore fear. Fear paralyzes action - and Bushido are men of action. Thus, they have been trained to feel no fear in life, and are able to have a calming effect on those around them as well, as long as their [Perception] is higher than those whom they're trying to calm. Fearful comrades are worse than being alone.

Bushido • Conditioned
C-rank Taijutsu Discipline
A Bushido warrior must have a well-trained body, as the body is a reflection of the mind. As such, they've trained to the point where they are able to move and continue fighting when one would be feeling tired or fatigued. On missions, they are able to continue moving throughout the night and are willing participants to be on night watch duty due to this.

--

Bushido • Reality Check
B-rank Taijutsu Discipline
A warrior is to be intuned with themselves at all times, but equally as aware of their surroundings. Because of this, practitioners of Bushido are able to detect subtle hints that they may be in a Genjutsu, as long as the user using the genjutsu has a [Genjutsu] lower than the Bushido users [Taijutsu + Instinct / 2]. This is an inherent discipline and thus is not something that needs to be turned on/off.
Kukyo ArmorShow
Kukyo • Donning the Armor
D-rank Taijutsu Stance
Kisuke is able to cause the sheath of his sword to become armor that spreads over him at a [Speed] of 10. The armors Strength is set in the equipment sections and is not at the discretion of this jutsu.

Kukyo • Retract
D-rank Taijutsu Stance
Kisuke is able to 'shed' the armor back to being a sheath at a [Speed] of 10. They are able to continue fighting as normal after this. If they wish to not transform, this can be accomplished upon drawing the blade.

History
Historical AccountsShow
Kisuke Ishiguro was the first child of his parents. He was an extremely intelligent child and had a very giving and loving heart from an early age. Being the child of two active shinobi, he was often under the care of various caretakers who also kept other children from the village. There were many accounts of Kisuke giving his toys to some of the other kids who didn't have as much as he did, stating "It's okay, I have more at home". He was extremely popular with the other kids as a result, but when they hung around him for very long they inevitably got irritated with him and began to fight, steadily escalating for apparently no reason. Kisuke would not find the reason why this was for many years later. During his youth, Kisuke idolized his father an often 'played ninja' with him. His father had lofty expectations for his son and constantly proclaimed how great of a ninja his son would be.

The year finally came when Kisuke would start the academy. He was very bright and outgoing, quickly becoming one of the top in his class in book studies. However, for whatever reason, he was the worst in his class in terms of 'application of techniques'. In other words, his real-life ninja skills were non-existent. Not only that, but his entire class seemed to suffer from below average scores compared to the rest of the shinobi their age. Those who spent extended time around Kisuke would become agitated until he left their vicinity. Kisuke would train day and night, but he simply was unable to even perform a basic transformation, or ki, or clone. Nothing was working for him. However, once Kisuke missed some class for an award ceremony for his father and a short vacation as a celebration. During the time he was gone, his classes skills improved almost immediately to more average scores. His return to the class was accompanied by a marked decline in the entire classes jutsu ability. The teacher took note of this, and after a parent-teacher conference, a medical exam was scheduled to take a look at Kisuke's chakra network.

Tears streamed down his mothers face. His father could barely look at the images. The doctor explained multiple times what the issue was, with his father simply exclaiming "YOU'RE WRONG. NOT MY SON." Kisuke simply sat in a chair between his parents, coming to the realization that his dreams of becoming a shinobi were dashed before they'd began. A genetic mutation from his kekkei genkai had destroyed his chakra network and caused 'leaks' in his chakra network. Those around him were affected as well, causing their chakra control and overall jutsu casting skills to suffer the effects of his clan techniques. This meant that, not only was he unable to become a shinobi, but he was an immediate detriment to any/all shinobi he was around - including his parents. So, at the age of 7, Kisuke Ishiguro was faced with the reality of not becoming a shinobi. This drove his father to drink, causing strain on the relationship with his now pregnant wife and leading to a divorce years later. Kisuke's relationship with his father didn't recover.

Kisuke came to terms with his handicap - but not his fate. He'd read the stories of the great swordsmen of the past who'd wielded blades and went toe to toe with shinobi. If they could do it, so could he. He began studying the ways of Kendo and Bushido, swordsmanship and warrior-hood principles that he believed would help him compensate for his deficiencies. His training began immediately, adopting daily practice routines to instill the skills of a warrior within them. These 'kata' he developed during this time of his life are still practiced by him to this day. At the age of 13, after training for 4 full years, Kisuke Ishiguro demonstrated his skills amongst a group of jounin arranged by his mother in order to demonstrate his skill with the blade in hopes of being named a genin. It was a close vote, but a 5-4 vote in his favor put his dreams back within reach. That was the first obstacle.

Now, he had to find a team. He was still an active detriment to his fellow shinobi, which made having him on the team a liability that they just couldn't afford in the field. However, one of the jounin who watched his genin exam had a soft spot for him. He believed he could train the boy to minimize the leak to the point where he could still function. And so he joined Team Hashimuro as their third genin. It wasn't all sunshine and roses, but through long nights and diligent works, Kisuke learned how to minimize the chakra leak at will and, ultimately, function as part of a shinobi team by using a special strategy designed by their sensei and executing it flawlessly.

On one particular mission, Kisuke's teammates were detained by a group of enemy shinobi while their sensei fought the leader. Kisuke was the only one not detained. He found it with-in himself to finally use his 'defect' to his advantage, canceling the jutsu and destroying the chakra control of those shinobi near him. He easily dispatched the shocked shinobi with his blade, saving his teammates. He swore it was a team effort, but his teammates raved to Hashimuro-sensei of Kisuke's exploits, which he reported to his superior requesting a Chuunin Exam. After deliberation, it was decided - Kisuke was to be given his chuunin exam. His mission - hunt and kill a particularly annoying band of samurai who were led by a chuunin missing-nin from Kumo. They'd created a stronghold in the mountains, and Kisuke was the perfect shinobi for this mission. Countless others had gone missing at the hands of the missing-nin, an ex-lead sensory shinobi for the Scout division of the Kumo ranks. With Kisuke, he wouldn't be able to sense him.

--

The stronghold was located about a days trek from the village, deep in the mountains. The exact location wasn't known, but it was known that the samurai living there sometimes ventured out to the local mountain taverns of a small village and drank. Kisuke decided to make his way there first, sitting in a back corner booth donning a black cloak and watching. Of course, around midnight some soldier types were getting rowdy, boasting about their fortress in the mountains where they were building an army. This caught Kisuke's interest, leading him to follow two men back once they stumbled from the bar. Like clockwork, the men led him to a small hideout in the forest that seemed capable of housing around fifty people. Once the location was known, he decided against making an immediate entrance and instead found his way back to his small camp located not too far away. He'd formulate a plan and make his move the following night.

Around mid-day the Ishiguro made the trek to the hideout and found a nice scouting location, simply observing until nightfall. He noticed several things - A large mining operation happening about two hundred yards away from the hideout. There was a more industrial entrance to the back of the place that transported a strange glowing rock to and from the hideout. He also noticed a rather official looking convoy make its way into the hideout with the Kumogakure symbol embroidered on the cloth. It was escorted by samurai who appeared foreign. Lastly, he identified the location that seemed to be where the leader would stay. A tower in the center of the building with a solitary window. This was the location where the noble caravan had unloaded and the shrouded figure had made its way into that tower. That was his target. He noted all of these observations in his notebook and continued watching until nightfall.

There were guard sentries posted in various locations, but Kisuke noticed that the mining operations were still going on at night and the security checking them weren't being thorough and looking through the cargo. The Ishiguro made his way towards the road the carts were traveling back to the stronghold and jumped into the back, finding himself lying among large chunks of glowing rock. The cart pulled into the compound and Kisuke peaked out from the cloth covering to make his exit when the coast was clear. Under the cover of night, Kisuke made his way towards the building he'd scoped out earlier. The entrance wasn't guarded, whether out of overconfidence or negligence did not matter to the young genin. He made his through the spiral staircase but stopped once he heard voices coming from the room above him. Plans were being made. As he crouched and listened, he became horrified at what he was hearing.

The stones in the quarry they were harvesting had special, chakra-like properties that caused 'mutations' when around humans. Enhanced strength, speed, and the ability to manipulate chakra for those who had not been able to before. In addition, they'd created a device to harness the true power of the chakra of the rocks, allowing them to control those who had succumb to its power. It seemed that Kisuke had fallen head first into a plot to turn this lowly samurai army into shinobi-esque monsters to then take on Kumo. He could not let this happen - for his people or the samurai army. Samurai were usually proud people who scoffed at the use of chakra and would never be something they'd willingly do. However, it seemed their plan was not ready to be put into motion at this time. Kisuke weighed his options and decided that his best course of action was to return to the village and relay the information to those of higher authority on what to do next. The scope of the mission had changed greatly, and thus he felt compelled to handle it with the care it deserved - his promotion be damned. He couldn't quite put a finger on it, but one of the voices he'd heard from the meeting sounded very familiar.

The genin snuck out of the camp and returned to Kumo under the cover of night. He relayed all he'd heard to his exam proctors who passed the information along. For being responsible and putting the fate of the village above the success of his own mission, Kisuke was awarded the rank of chuunin. Upon returning home, before even telling anyone the news, he found a gift at the doorstep of his home. It read "Kisuke, I knew you'd do it. A fitting gift for a samurai". Opening it, he found an exotic looking blade that hummed a bit in his hands when holding it. A gift from his Uncle for passing his exam and becoming a chuunin.

He had heard that a jounin had made his way to the hideout to scope it out, but had found a hastily abandoned site instead. They somehow knew that he was coming. They left in such a rush, however, that they were able to get some of those chakra embedded rocks to study. Kisuke still wondered what had become of that army and when not if, they'd show themselves again.

Looks good until we get to the Denjiton Aura. It's really over-tuned so let's try and get it into an acceptable form:

The size of the field can be increased up to [Stamina] meters, with Kisuke as the epicenter expanding in all directions as he moves, but cannot be limited to less than 1 meter. <- [Stamina]/2 meters

Any person within the 'Null Field' will experience a loss of control equal to [Stamina/2] immediately, with a [Stamina/10] loss of control and Stamina each post afterward (rounded up). <-Few issues with this one: Whose Stamina is the loss taking into account? An immediate [Stamina/2] debuff isn't going to fly, that's stronger than an S50 debuff at 50 Stamina. The math of the continuous debuff portion also doesn't work too well due to the /10.

With the other effects you're adding onto the Aura, the best effect you'd get is a C-rank continuous debuff to Stamina initially and per post.

<-Seeing as how the Null Field is a byproduct of his Denjiton chakra, it should be scaling off of his Ninjutsu stat and Control stat not his Strength stat and Stamina stat. I suggest having it to so that sends out a pulse of [Nin+Control]/2 Strength Denjiton chakra that strikes at the chakra within other jutsu that enter the field each post.

Because of the mutation, his chakra signature is undetectable by sensory ninja unless they have control greater than his [Stamina]. If able to be detected, his chakra will come up as an anomaly and likely pique their interest. -> This wouldn't even be a stat battle. A sensory who came across your field/you would see absolutely nothing when trying to view you, it'd be like the entire area didn't exist.

I'll let you change this up before I look at jutsu.

- Changed size of field to Stamina/2 Meters
- Changed debuff to Stamina/5 on entrance w/ a Stamina/20 upon leave. It's their Stamina that this is scaling off, so it's debuff of opponents stamina / 5 on entry. (so from 50 to 40 immediately).

- On the scaling off of ninjutsu and control, I ask why this is? Stamina is said to determine essentially how much chakra one has, while I have seen strength used multiple times to determine how 'strong' a jutsu is eg. "X jutsu hits with 35 strength". Ninjutsu seems like an odd choice as that stat reads as how many concetrations, how many handsigns and how high of rank jutsu one can use. Control I could maybe get down with, but I cannot agree on the ninjutsu stat.

• Chuunin start with 80 stats. You have 90

Kendo • Duel <-- at D rank you'll only be able to block out minor distractions, not all

Kendo • Parry <-- at D rank he'll be able to parry only simpler attacks, nothing too complicated

Kendo • Redirect <-- this would also need a strength req to send it back at the same strength

Kendo • The Blade Cuts <-- I'm gonna say [Tai+Inst]/2? I'm not the best with these formulas but I think it should have an instinct involved in that stat battle

Kendo • Pedals in the Wind <-- Do you mean Petals* ?

Kendo • The Blade Slices <-- needs instinct req
