Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Hikari possesses short blue hair that falls to the nape of the neck in the back while framing her jawline on the sides and yellow-green eyes, these accompanied by facial features while still soft and childlike, are beginning to show signs of maturity, the baby fat having all but vanished and her features as well having begun to sharpen and mature.
  • Body: Having only just begun to feel the effects of puberty, Hikari is lacking in height and curves though possesses smooth, soft skin and a good deal of well toned muscle for a girl her age.
  • Notable Features:----
Clothing/Accessories: Hikari's primary day to day outfit consists of a short sleeved shirt worn underneath a long sleeved jacket, these accompanied by a pair of pants that fall to her calves as well as a pair of calf-high boots. She as well wears a belt that functions primarily as a holster for her weapons.

  • General: Hikari while a bit quiet, is a cheerful, friendly young girl with an inquisitive mind and a good deal of curiosity about the world and those she meets as well as an irresistible urge to flirt with any pretty face she comes across regardless of gender. Additionally she has a great want, practically an urging to help those in need. All said however, she can at times seem a bit melancholic, often being found wondering about the parents she's never met, the kinds of people that they were and if she had been the result of a happy union.

Kūgāpou Taijutsu:
This taijutsu style is all about avoidance, with grace. In this style, the user may slap away blades, thrown weapons, and other objects, all in the interests of preserving one's self. However, this style isn't necessarily about avoiding all damage, so much as avoiding the worst damage. In instances where the user is going against an opponent they can't match, they may use this style to avoid fatal injuries and instead receive less serious injuries and live to fight a bit longer, or even another day. Required Concentrations: Deft Hands, Perception.

*Kūgāpou • Soft Paws
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Soft Paws is a bare-handed deflection technique and is used against bladed weapons. At this level, the practitioner is able to read the angles of the attacks to place the flat of their hand against the flat of the blade and push it away without getting cut by the weapon. However, prolonged use of this technique will cause the practitioner to suffer bruises on their hands.

D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Requirement: *Kūgāpou • Soft Paws
After using Soft Paws to slap a blade away, the practitioner will continue moving forwards while jutting out their elbow. The momentum from the target's original attack that was slapped away, coupled with the sudden defenselessness of the target after having their attack deflected, makes for a powerful counter-attack. The elbow can be aimed anywhere on the torso and above, but is usually aimed at the target's face.

*Kūgāpou • Down Paw
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Whenever a bladed weapon is coming towards the practitioner, they can slam their palm against the top of the blade, pushing it downwards. This can either cause the sword to miss or, if the practitioner's Strength is equal to or higher than the Strength of the attack, can force the sword into the ground. This technique only works on blades that aren't double-edged.

*Kūgāpou • Down Rush
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Requirement: *Kūgāpou • Down Paw
After using Down Paw to drive the opponent’s blade downward or into the ground, the practitioner will rush forward and ram their shoulder into the opponent, driving them back and away from their weapon or even taking the weapon from them outright.

D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Whenever in a situation where they can't avoid being struck, the practitioner will slightly shift their body. This slight movement allows them to cause the incoming attack to miss any vital organs and cause as little damage as possible.

C-Ranked

*Kūgāpou • Quick Fang
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Useful for dealing with an opponent using a short weapon, such as a kunai, knife, or dagger, the practitioner waits for the opponent to attack. Taking advantage of the small size of the weapon, the practitioner then aims a slap or a punch at the opponent's fingers, aiming to simultaneously push the weapon off its trajectory and damage or even crush the opponent's fingers.

C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner will sidestep a weapon attack against them and attempt to disarm the opponent. They will grab and pull the weapon on a safe or dull spot before simultaneously slamming the other palm into the opponent's wrist. If the opponent has a Rigid Structure technique of equal or higher rank than this technique, they can resist being disarmed. Otherwise, the weapon is ripped from the opponent's grasp and their hand is knocked away. Their wrist will swell from the impact, making handling weapons in that hand difficult if the wrist isn't outright broken due to the practitioner having a higher Strength than the opponent.

C-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
By observing a weapon's movement through the air and having a deep understanding of weaponry in general, the practitioner is capable of predicting a weapon's trajectory. This technique is especially effective when the practitioner saw the actual moment the weapon was launched, as seeing the movement of the weapon wielder provides crucial information. If they didn't see the weapon being launched, they can still predict the trajectory to a smaller degree but are incapable of accounting for high-level taijutsu that may be applied to the weapon attack.

C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner catches an attacking weapon with both hands and halts its momentum. Once they have stopped the motion of the attack, the practitioner will wrench their hands in a single direction to deflect the weapon or even rip the weapon out of the opponent's hands. Opponents with a higher Strength than the practitioner's Strength can resist being disarmed.

*Kūgāpou • Spun Fang
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Ducking under an attack from either side, the practitioner lifts their off-hand just enough to touch the weapon against its side and shove it outward, adding to its momentum to either imbalance the opponent or disarm them. As the practitioner comes up from under the attack, they will aim a direct punch at the opponent's face or chest.

This style focuses on being overall more physically powerful than your opponent. Users attempt to overwhelm defenses with great speed and strength while chipping away at their opponent’s endurance and keeping their own at the highest possible. Most attacks are simple in execution but extremely powerful in effect, causing battles of attrition to be in their favor.

D-Ranked Taijutsu Stance
A neutral stance taken by even entry level practitioners. This stance involves turning your body to be perpendicular to your opponent. One foot is rested directly in front of the other with just the toes in contact with the ground. A hand is held back while the other is forward, pointing up. This stance provides ease of dodging incoming blows by using the least amount of motion possible while still being ready to launch into an attack.

Because distances tend to become the problem in most taijutsu, the practitioner will advance with every strike. This creates a tempo of advancement that is designed to wear down their opponent through ever pressing strikes, giving little chance for escape or recovery.

D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
When fighting in close quarters it becomes difficult to generate energy for full powered strikes. Practitioners have learned how to explode force from every muscle with minimal energy wasted and space needed. Every strike done by the practitioner has the potential to be at full strength, so long as they have at least one inch of movement.
Skitter StepShow
Skitter Step:
The Skitter Step is a style that relies heavily on the user's senses. The style itself is a mesh of quick, fast, and wild punches, kicks, and jumps. Due to the user altering their senses, every bit of movement is heard and, since they can start to respond to things instinctively, they can respond to things that normally wouldn't have been able to be heard/seen/done. In addition to the heightened senses, users are normally in a "paranoid" state, where they start to suspect things that aren't always there.

If overused, the style can lead to paranoia in individuals, along with constant fidgeting, making experts in the style quite well known for these activities.

E-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: Any form of Senses Open used.
The practitioner makes a fist with their right hand and places it against their left before placing both hands against their chest. This calms the practitioner's senses and returns them to a centered state.

D-Ranked

*[Skitter Step • Back Jab]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
After using any version of the "Senses Open" technique, when the practitioner hears motion behind them, they'll instinctively kick behind them to strike at the source of the sound.

*[Skitter Step • Inside Dodge]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
The counter-balanced Discipline to Outside Dodge. Having mastered this Discipline, when the practitioner is actively using Skitter Step while in close-quarters combat, their body instinctively dodges to the inside of an attack which keeps them centered on their opponent's torso. These dodges are only successful if their Speed is greater than the Speed of the attack

D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
The counter-balanced Discipline to Inside Dodge. Having mastered this Discipline, when the practitioner is actively using Skitter Step while in close-quarters combat, their body instinctively dodges to the outside of an attack which forces them to be constantly moving around their opponent. These dodges are only successful if their Speed is greater than the Speed of the attack.

D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
The counter-balanced discipline to Accept. When faced with an extended limb, may it be an arm or leg, the practitioner will always bat at the extended limb with full force, typically aiming for the joint of the limb in order to cause it to collapse.

C-Ranked

*[Skitter Step • Senses Open]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Stance
The main jutsu of the Skitter Step, the practitioner takes a moment to focus their bodies, then releases it. While in this stance, the practitioner's sensory input is increased, allowing them to receive more information quickly. This Stance grants a +2 in Strength and a +4 in Speed but a -3 in Willpower and -3 in Control. This Stance will remain in effect until deactivated by [Stop]. Practitioners of this technique will find themselves fidgeting and constantly moving, which can make it difficult for the practitioner to use this style in a stealthy manner.

Hikari is the birth child of a woman by the name of Akaiyah, Kameko and a man named Osamu, though she had never gotten to know either as a ways into her mother's pregnancy her parents were separated after having only just reunited. Osamu had sensed that one of his traveling companions had been gradually going mad and so one day he ordered Kameko to take the yet unborn baby and run as far and fast as she could. Of course she had been against such a thing as they had only just reunited after a period of separation but she was eventually convinced and so one day she waited for the cover of night and ran as fast as she could, unaware of the fact that she had escaped in the nick of time, a brutal scene going on not far behind her.

Anyways after once more being on the road for some time she eventually came across the home of a friend that she had made during her travels and asked for a favor, to be allowed to stay until she gave birth. Of course she was allowed to stay and so like that the months passed, Kameko eventually giving birth to a baby girl, that being Hikari herself.

For a time it seemed the mother daughter pair would live in peace from there but one day Kameko left, leaving behind a note explaining that it would be best if she left as misery and general bad luck seemed to follow her wherever she went and as a result asking for Hikari to be taken in, hoping that her daughter would search her out once she was old enough.

From there the years passed and Hikari grew up knowing very well that she was more or less adopted, though she loved her caretaker nonetheless, thinking of her as a parent just as much as she was thought of as a daughter. She was also well known around their small village for being friendly and helpful, playing with the kids and often volunteering at the various businesses. And it was in this manner that life continued for many years until one day when illness struck her caretaker, leaving her weak and bedridden. And it was with that that Hikari decided to leave home and seek out her mother, having heard stories of the woman being a medic of some renown, though admittedly deep down she felt this was the perfect excuse she needed to finally meet the woman whom had given birth to her all those years ago and hopefully even find some way for them to become a real family.
