Daemonblight Sharing in the blood of the great daemon Ba'al, Jinsai has gained not only the allegiance of the foul beast as a summon, but also a deeper, more volatile power referred to as "Daemonblight". When this power manifests at Jinsai's will or under extreme duress, Jinsai's body will be engulfed by black and red chakra, his entire body becoming opaque with the power as he grows in size and bulk, reaching eight feet tall. His chakra will seem to rise off of his skin, shifting like a flame, while two large draconic wings burst from his back along with 4 inch long horns on his head and a 3 meter long prehensile tail that ends in a barbed stinger tip. All along his body, the chakra that surrounds his flesh will harden and protrude to form spiked armor around his body, with strength equal to his strength stat. Lastly, while his Sansetsukon will disappear into his form, in it's place a gargantuan greataxe will form, measuring a total of three meters from end to end. The axe appears demonic in nature, with a large horned skull serving as the centerpiece of the meter long double-sided axe head. The reverse end is a sharpened tip as well, enabling the weapon to slash, crush or stab as needed. In addition to the obvious physical boons of this form, Jinsai loses access to the [Polearm Weapons] Concentration and gains the [Hafted Weapons] Concentration for as long as he assumes the Daemonblight form. In this form, Jinsai's personality shifts drastically, as he embraces rage and fury and seeks to destroy all who stand before him. This form can last for a maximum of eight posts, after which point he must wait two posts before he can tap into the Daemonblight again.

An extension of Katon created by merging Jinsai's Katon ninjutsu with the Daemonblight's power, Daemonflame style takes the form of deep black flames with dark orange edges. Jutsu utilizing this concentration have the Enervation Passive.
Passive - EnervationShow
Daemonflame jutsu burn in the same way that normal Katon jutsu do, causing burn damage based on the strength of the jutsu, though slightly weaker than traditional Katon jutsu overall. However, the flames do not spread from their location - a unique trait of the flames. Instead of wanton destruction, Daemonflame fire Enervates the target, draining away their power as part of it's fuel source. This drains chakra from the target according to the following table:
  • 1 - 10 Strength - 1 CP per two techniques, Minor Burns
  • 11 - 20 Strength - 1 CP per technique, 1st Degree Burns
  • 21 - 30 Strength - 2 CP per technique, 2nd Degree Burns
  • 31- 40 Strength - 3 CP per technique, 3rd Degree Burns
  • 41 - 50 Strength - 4 CP per technique,, 3rd Degree burns
  • 51 - 55 Strength - 5 CP per technique, 4th Degree burns
Chakra drained in this way does not return to the opponent until the end of the thread, unless the opponent has some means of increasing their chakra pool mid thread.

After channeling chakra into one of their fists, the user will then attempt to strike their target and if successful, they will release additional concussive force in the form of an outward explosion with [Control] Strength from their fist. If the user does not strike a target within 3 posts the jutsu dissipates.

D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user causes a thin 3x3x1 meter flat barrier to form within 10 meters of them at [Control] Speed and has [Control] Strength. It lasts for 3 posts.

*Ninjutsu • Spiritualism Technique]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
The base technique for summoning, the Spiritualism Technique allows users to bring forth their summons to fight on their behalf. Once an agreement has been made between the user and their summon, they will be able to use this technique to call upon it at any time unless stated otherwise. The chakra used for this technique varies, as it is dependent on the size and rank of what is being summoned. Once it has been summoned, the initial cost of the summon is equivalent to its rank. It is paid upon being summoned and then the same cost is paid as often as follows:
  • D-Rank: Free to maintain once summoned.
  • C-rank: 10 posts
  • B-rank: 9 Posts
  • A-rank: 7 Posts
  • S-rank: 5 posts
Payment: 14 points for the Ninpou

The burn passive will have to be De-Ranked by one level for combining it with a second passive.

Does this drain chakra from jutsu it comes into contact with (removing posts from its post count?) and for targets it'll need to be a definite number since 3/4 of a jutsu's strength isn't really quantifiable our system as it is. It'll also need a length of time before it returns to he target as well since we aren't doing thread long CP debuff currently.

Thats part of why I phrased it as "draining chakra as if the opponent had cast a jutsu of 3/4th the strength of the technique that hit them." I wasn't trying to do an actual -CP thing, I wanted to actually pull their Chakra out, as if they were casting a ninjutsu themselves, thus draining their actual reserves instead of a flat -CP. So like, when you get hit by a 25 strength D rank fireball, your chakra would be drained as if you yourself cast an 18 strength D rank fireball. Does that make sense?

It does not drain from jutsu it contacts, and I can reduce the burning. But I'd really like it to empty an enemy's reserves and make it so they can cast less jutsu / run out quicker.

As much as I love the concept, "pulling their chakra out" will still constitute a CP Debuff meaning it will need to follow the debuff rules and system.

As much as I agree with you that the way CP debuffs work right now suck, they were made this way on purpose because of how op of a debuff it was before.

I'll bring it up in staff chat, but if anything it'd be a systematic change.

I keep repeating myself, it's not meant to be a true CP debuff :/ Whereas a CP debuff is "target receives -X CP" this is "Target loses chakra as if they cast a jutsu". IMO, it's a big difference, because unlike a CP Debuff the target's control plays a huge factor in how badly this passive will effect them. More Control, less chakra loss. That doesn't apply to a true debuff.

To expedite this;

Can you explain how there is any actual mechanical difference in
“Reduces chakra pool permanently” and “causes chakra to be spent as if a jutsu was performed” besides the amount? Because if the issue with the ruling was the amount, we would have simply put a cap on it. So I’m curious as to what distinction you can provide that makes this different from just being a specialized debuff

The difference is that a debuff doesn't take any of the character's other stats into account. If I give you a -10 CP debuff, then you have -10 CP. If I hit you with a 40 strength fireball, then it drains from your chakra pool as if you cast a 30 strength fireball, meaning that your control stat factors in to exactly how much drain that is. Plus, there's no numerical loss to the stat, so for the sake of meeting prerequisites your actual CP stat is unchanged (Things like Jikukan's Recycle Time : Death come to mind as requiring a certain CP stat, for example.)

if 3/4ths is too much drain, that's fine with me. I can cut it to whatever you feel is balanced. But for the purpose of truly enervating a target and not just putting a limiter on their current reserves, I'd like to get by with the overall concept as is.

Right, so the cause of the ruling is not the amount. It’s agreed that any amount permanent is too much. So modifying like that (while a very intelligent solution) doesn’t work because the permanent amount is still more than 0, which is what the staff is comfortable with.

What do the Kikaichu do then? The page explicitly states: "The Kikaichū are a unique species of bugs who's diet partially consists of chakra. Because of this, the host of a kikaichū swarm can *command their swarm to devour the chakra of others*."

And they drain actual chakra pool per post, unlike what i'm looking to do. It says nothing on their rules page about the opponent's chakra "coming back", and it wouldn't make sense if an opponent's chakra came back after getting attacked by the Kikaichu because the bugs literally devour chakra. What, does the eaten chakra magically come back somehow? My Daemonflame would work in much the same way: The chakra doesnt come back because it's burned away as part of the fuel for the flames.

You can't change the Kikaichu without completely overhauling the way the Aburame work, as their flavor has always been eating chakra and enervating their opponents. And likewise, there shouldn't be a problem with my Daemonflame enervating targets by burning their chakra away as a fuel source.

The Aburame is on the list of clans to be fixed, actually.

You’re welcome to wait until they’re updated to try this. But unless you’re going to invest an Nth stat, and have a limited quantity of blight, you’re unlikely to be able to mimic them.

It bothers me that energy draining, something that is frequently seen not only in Naruto but in a litany of different mediums, is being made so difficult if not impossible to accomplish on Saigen. Really, draining someone's chakra is hardly overpowered, especially in this case, when you consider that most people who get hit by a big enough jutsu to really take some drain is going to get burned far worse then they get drained.

But fine, i'll wait for the Aburame to be revamped before I continue with this.
