Change: I would like to change Katsu's "Parasitic Infestation" out to ovarian swarm ability as this is going to take a lot longer than I assumed and I would like to go ahead and change it to something that is a little bit more in theme with the character rather than the parasite itself.
Vermin Walker
The host has gained the ability to become a hive for various types of swarming creatures ranging ants, cockroaches, bees, locusts and beyond. These creatures must be obtained externally and infested with the parasite. Once done their biomass can be subsumed into the host's body and reconstituted at will. It is controlled via a sync stat and follows all other swarm rules as applicable.
Payment: N/A. I will work on clearing up her "Parasitic Augmentation". I will provide a nocode upon request for app formatting once ready to go.

Why is it getting such a big buff as to ignore all physical defenses? It should permeate all defenses, not just chakra-based. Sia wasn't allowed to bypass all physical defenses and Kakujutsu only affect cores so I'm not sure why this which affects a much larger umbrella would be allowed to.

This is actually a nerf. A rather large nerf. It currently doesn't have such a distinction, removes the chakra sapping from jutsu, makes it easier to counter due to having a "build up" time as well as falling off while outside of it, and requiring them to have to linger in the field to gain full effect and having it fall off fairly quickly once they leave. So I don't think "buff" is the right word at fucking all, my guy.

However, the reason it permeates physical defenses currently is because its intangible and kinda passes through stuff to get inside a person. I can change the wording to say it "permeates through physical defenses, slipping through unless the substance is completely sealed". It'd be effectively the same concept. I could also maybe reword what is meant by full bodied chakra based defenses. As it's intended to be utterly blocked if someone simply has a D rank chakra shield on. It does no damage by itself.

The "liquid" part of the writing conflicts with it being intangible. When I wrote that I was under the impression it had a physical component to it, and wrote it to reflect that.

"The cloak is blocked by chakra-based defenses by is able to permeated anything physical so long as there are means to do so."

I had envisioned it like Naruto's bubbling kyuubi cloak that grew out of him, and figured it could be blocked/etc.

The liquid is supposed to be a visible texture style or design. It is not a liquid substance, it merely moves and looks like it. It has no physical aspect to it. I can change this if desired.

While spread out in this manner, the chakra infects anyone with [Control] less than the host inside the cloak, while anyone with more [Control] than the host must spend time equal to their difference between the host and target's [Control] to be infected.

This doesn't really specify what unit of time that targets with higher cp need to stay in the cloak for. Is it Seconds, Minutes, Posts?

I had assumed it was understood that posts is the only relevant unit of time anything on the bored could be measured in as a single post could be anything from a second to several years. Is this required?

Parasitic Infestation
Overall, I feel this is too broad in scope and becomes a catch all. We need specific debuffs and effects. It varies from 'I've got a headache to my heart has organs have failed' needs to be much more specific please! :)

The host must spend time equal to their difference between the host and target's [Control] in posts to be infected.

So, if Katsu has 49 control and the target has 50, it will take just one post for the target to be infected? Does it also have to be continuous or does it restart as they come in and out of range.

Shroud techniques are all range and stat based to defend; it would be unfair if you just get to negate the stat check for standing in it longer.

I legitimately don't know how to make it more specific within the ability. It's supposed to be illness and pestilence. This would entail debuffs, fever, organ failure, bleeding wounds, nausea, delirium, whatever jutsu is used along with it. Writing all that in would make the ability a bit more chunky. I attempted to truncate it as much as possible in the write up.

Yes, that would be how it works. And I had assumed it'd be sorta like a build. Let's say someone with 50 control was in range of Katsu who has 30 control. A bit unreasonable but still possible to work here. If they were there for 5 posts then left for 3 posts the fall off would kick in. Then they'd get back in for 10 posts and only be at the 12 post count. 5-3+10.

Assuming you're not referring to what is currently being discussed, I feel needing to remain in a range for such an extended period like this with everyone having Shunshin, would be fair. Especially since this does not allow instantly damning effects, which is directly written into the ability.

Clunky as it might be, I think the effects need to be more specific, it’s too open ended at the moment. I also think if her control is lower than the targets it won’t do anything at all. These kinds of shrouds are usually stat battles. Though if you’d like staff to discuss this, we can open it up to them.

Staff is already discussing this, or was. Validus did post as such with the whole Aura/Shroud/Ect thing that kinda got swallowed. As for the other point, I had actually done that already sorta and was told to truncate it to give a vague idea since the jutsu are going to be a bit broad already anyway. I'm getting conflicting information here.

I don't remember Onu going over exactly what the ability would do, but the type shroud/aura etc. I'll leave that to him.

But for this to be effective, your target must have a stat check otherwise it will not work and you need to be clear what the effects ar.

Even if it's a break down of
30 Control Difference: Lungs Fail
10 Control Difference: Nausea

At the moment it's a very vague broad ability, it's not clear how you defend against it or even what it does to you. Once that's worked out we can go over this properly.

I have swapped it out fully with a swarm ability. The theme fits better with the character and I am getting annoyed with the cloak version and would retool it once the staff discussion is completed to be added to something else.

Are you using the current swarm that's on her character page, or are you designing a new one?

If using the old one, I'd like a mention of how much of the toxin is necessary to achieve these effects. Does it take the full force of the swarm? If someone has a single member of the swarm in their shoe will it work? etc.

If making a new one, did you want to include that here, or were you going to do that seperately?

For balance purposes, this rate is fixed regardless of how many bugs are on a target, and there needs to be more than few bugs on a target. (Essentially, three bugs, which would be relatively hard to notice, cannot be hidden on a target and drain chakra.)

So, essentially, enough to actually be noticeable and removeable. I don't think your swarm explicitly needs this line of text since there's some standardization implied there.
