[big]/ Physical Features[/big]
With porcelain skin and eyes of a radiant blue, Naohiro has grown to epitomize the Aisu stereotype. The effect is heightened by chest-length black hair, sleek and well-cared-for, framing a symmetrical face that toes the line between handsomeness and beauty. A narrow jaw and high cheekbones lend him a proud and imperious bearing that is matched well with his tall and broad-shouldered build.
As an active shinobi, Naohiro trains continually to maintain high standards of fitness, resulting in a lean but hard stature. He is right-handed and sure-footed, and carries himself in a confident yet reticent manner. Usually seen with his hair secured into a topknot or high ponytail, Naohiro aims to appear composed and presentable at all times. Clean-shaven and well dressed, he doesn't just blend easily into Kirigakure’s noble caste; he defines it.
He does, however, carry a few lingering marrs on his person from his years as a shinobi. A thin, crescent-shaped scar runs around one side of his neck, old enough that it has faded to a faint white line that stands out even against his pale skin. Covering his abdomen and one side of his hips is a fractal web of white lines and discoloured flesh obtained from a severe raiton attack, although thanks to advanced iijutsu no sign remains of the puncture wound at its centre.

[big]/ Clothing & Accessories[/big]
Raised among the ‘prim and proper’ upper society of the Aisu, Naohiro has inherited an appreciation for fine clothes and traditional fashions. As a ninja, however, he must reluctantly admit that form takes precedence over function. Allowances can be made, however.
His standard mission attire consists of a very fine custom-made flak jacket of a midnight blue, worn over a dark gi and padded fingerless gloves. A belt of thin, carefully woven rope ornaments dark trousers, in addition to a kunai holster on his right thigh and dark ninja-tabi with combat boots.
Since claiming the legendary cloak Desire he wears it constantly wrapped around his shoulders, clasped at the breast with a dark brooch. In his care, the unknown fabric of the cloak has taken on a hue as dark as a moonless night, accented with an ornately woven hem of pale blue thread, or is occasionally worn inverted as a layer of semi-relective white-grey camouflage.

While on assignment or traveling, he sometimes wears a nondescript black travelsack on his back to carry essential supplies. The attire is completed by several lengths of sterilised white bandages worn around his ankles, hidden there beneath his clothing. If on assignment with the HHD, he wears a plain white Standard Operator Mask with the symbol of Kirigakure prominently displayed on the forehead, with thin eye slits to see through. In stark contrast to his usual rich garb, this Head Hunter Division mask is devoid of any distinguishing markings at all.
When off-duty, however, Naohiro follows the expectations of his peers among the Aisu and dons all manner of haori, hakama, and yukata, typically of blues, whites, and greys—but always well-made and visibly dashing. The quality of the clothing only increases for formal events.

His forehead protector is usually secured around his neck, front and centre, where it conceals a particular scar. As part of the Aisu, and therefore by extension part of the Hirohito family, he additionally wears a simple but refined silver ring on the thumb of his left hand, though this is removed when discretion is required. The inside of the ring is delicately carved to show the symbol of the Hirohito.

[big]/ Personality[/big]
Like most of the Aisu, Naohiro has been subjected to strict family teachings from birth: Pride, loyalty, strength, and honour. He is a determined young man who brims with motivation to earn the respect of his peers. He wishes to become a reliable source of strength for his village and to the people around him, and places great stock in both his Aisu heritage and his position as a shinobi of Kirigakure.

Naohiro is respectful to all those who don't prove they deserve less, and while he is friendly to those close to him, his upbringing has inevitably lent him a reticence which can easily be mistaken for a standoffish attitude. This oft-taciturn public persona conceals a quick and careful mind, however, always hungry for knowledge and seeking greater strength. In this is revealed an almost scholarly attitude; when Naohiro finds something he doesn’t understand, he will go to considerable lengths to delve into its secrets. He enjoys traveling and experiencing new things, and is strangely unattached to luxury despite his comfortable home life among the Aisu and pristine appearance.

As a youth, Naohiro possessed a kind-hearted nature and a compassionate morality, which quickly came into conflict with his training as a ninja. The teachings of Kirigakure, bolstered by first hand experience and trauma in battle, soon forced him to develop a degree of mental separation between that naïve kindness and the duties that would otherwise break him. As an adult Naohiro has adapted to the change well, able to maintain his personable nature to friends and family, and mask it entirely when his orders demand it.

[big]/ History[/big]
Naohiro’s story is one of a dichotomy between innocence and ambition: The transformation from kind-hearted child to the embodiment of Kirigakure’s military ideals, and the lifelong quest to find harmony between the two—without losing oneself in the attempt.
Born into the heights of Kirigakure’s nobility as the scion of Aisu Naoshige—himself a strong, respected, and highly influential shinobi—Naohiro was expected from birth to excel. The importance of the family name was one of the core values instilled into him alongside formality, respect, and pride. His education began when he was just three years old and always emphasised his personal, social, and physical development. Loyalty, discipline, ambition and doctrine soon wove throughout his curriculum, preparing him for a life already decided.

What resulted was a serious and reserved child who relished the praise of his elders and peers, and in whom the indoctrination of the village was evident. Despite this, Nao’s youth was not absent of kindness; while his parents were strict in his teaching, they did so out of love, and raised him well. He developed into a kind and well-meaning child, quiet and painfully reserved—though inevitably somewhat aloof, arrogant, and naïve.
By right of family name, Naohiro entered Academy One when he was eight years old, and what might have reinforced those flaws instead helped to ease them. The academy was a gateway to a whole new world beyond the confines of the Aisu compound; surrounded by other children his own age, many of whom more carefree and rebellious than he knew how to be, his quiet shell began to crack. He quickly fell in love with the newfound freedom and formed lasting bonds with several other children. Among the closest of them all were Kinsue, a direct member of the powerful Karagata house, and Natsumi, a fire-hearted girl from the Jouchaku clan. In all, Naohiro’s time in the academy taught him just as much about how to enjoy life as it did how to become a ninja. Come graduation he had transitioned into a far more confident and friendly boy.

As a genin, Naohiro soon came to learn that his lessons were still only beginning. His education took a rapid turn, evolving from fundamentals to exhausting detail in history, politics, strategy, and—of course—the shinobi arts. Through long hours of study and harsh training exercises, his father Naoshige soon helped him master his innate potential with the Aisu’s famed hyouton release, after which he secured a position within a newly-formed four-man squad, Unit Twelve alongside his old friends Kinsue and Natsumi who were joined and led by the special jounin Jouchaku Karasu. Despite some initial success, Naohiro's and Kinsue's growth quickly outstripped the group and the two genin instead transitioned into a more conventional two-man rivalry squad.

With Kinsue as a rival, Naohiro progressed rapidly. His years of hard training and the daily challenge of keeping up with his new friend fostered an impressive foundation in offensive ninjutsu, particularly the clan's hallmark hyouton, suiton, and fuuton techniques. But his mentor of many years—an elderly and deceptively strict Aisu Hisako—sought to draw out additional talents in her young charge and supplemented his usual training with many varied lessons. One such opportunity introduced him to the basics of medicine at one of Kirigakure's largest medical centres, where his excellent chakra control and inquisitive mind allowed him to flourish. While not his main focus, Naohiro gradually developed a solid foundation in, and fascination for, medical iijutsu.

In the weeks preceding Naohiro's chuunin exam he sought out a meeting with the infamous Kaikyo Kohon, the former overseer of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. He boldly petitioned the Jounin to teach him some improved taijutsu to cover a glaring gap in his skillset. Astonishingly, Kohon agreed, imparting the secrets of his silent fighter style to the young Aisu.

By the time Naohiro came to face Kinsui during their chuunin trial, both were significantly over-par for genin, and their battle was intense and tenacious. Naohiro sustained multiple injuries from Kinsue's impressive array of ninjutsu and on-the-fly strategising, but eventually—barely—he emerged victorious. The Aisu clan gave their approval to his promotion, and while recuperating after the combat, he found himself faced with a very different sort of challenge: betrothal. Originally set up as an arranged match, Naohiro met and quickly grew close to Aisu Megumi, and the two decided to pursue a relationship on their own terms.
~ - ~
After achieving the rank of chuunin, Naohiro allowed himself more freedom to develop a varied skillset. The branching into iijutsu and taijutsu, with a small coverage of fuuinjutsu, had ignited within him a desire for more. He soon began developing genjutsu and spent an increasing amount of time in the Kirigakure hospitals to improve his medical abilities, all the while continuing to hone his elemental ninjutsu arsenal while running missions with Kinsui.

One such mission saw the pair investigating a corrupt official in Water Country at the behest of the Water Daimyo. What began as a simple infiltration soon backfired, with the official, Onho Yukimura, calling upon hired mercenaries to capture and torture the two ninja. Eager to take advantage of the victory, Yukimura began using the two chuunin as arena showpieces to inspire and recruit soldiers, but he underestimated the talent and tenacity of the pair. When forced to face Kinsui in a fight to the death, Naohiro took a carefully orchestrated slash to his neck, pairing it with a powerful hyouton technique that allowed him to feign death and thus escape the clutches of captivity. He returned to free his friend only to find Kinsui had also escaped after revealing his value as a Karagata hostage to survive. Together, the pair hunted down Yukimura and gave unto him a swift and bloody end, before bringing damning evidence against him back to Kirigakure. The success of their mission against such overwhelming odds saw the pair promoted to Special Jounin.

Naohiro's next challenge came with Kirigakure's failed operation to annex Soul Country. The covert campaign, supported by Iwagakure, to infiltrate and subdue the small island nation quickly escalated into a contained international conflict as Kumogakure and Konohagakure, learning of Kirigakure's and Iwagakure's movements, commited their own shinobi in opposition. Naohiro's reputation and skills as a combat medic saw him chosen as a squad leader during the operation, and he led a team consisting of an Iwagakure chuunin, Kinomichi, one of Kirigakure's trainee Seven Swordsmen, Mondai, and the Jinchuuriki of the Etaigenma, Tsukino Nishiki.
The squad's objective was to infiltrate and capture the strategic western tower of Soul Country, but despite their impressive roster they were unable to achieve their goal. As soon as they set sights on their target they were intercepted and broken by an encounter with the Ninth Raikage, Nakajima Hayate and a second masked accomplice. The two opponents vastly outmatched the younger squad, more than making up for the discrepancy in numbers, and cut the group down before Naohiro's order to retreat could be realised. During the short but intense encounter, the Raikage hit Naohiro with no less than sixteen bolts of raiton in rapid succession, overwhelming his defences and forever scarring the Aisu special jounin. Only a moment of mercy from Hayate and some rapid remote support from the Kirigakure and Iwagakure base camp allowed Naohiro, Kinomichi, Nishiki and Mondai to barely escape with their lives.

The unit were whisked away from Soul Country and back to their home nations using teleportation jutsu at the final moment before recieving urgent medical care. After a short period of rest and recovery, Naohiro's insatiable curiosity forced him back to work: he simply had to understand how their group had been saved, and to learn to use that power for himself. His rank and station in the village allowed him access to many private and restricted libraries, as well as the best tutors of the village, and before long he discovered hints and concepts of Jikukan ninjutsu. Then he began experimenting. He learned quickly, growing bolder with his attempts at jutsu manipulating space and time until he eventually mastered the art, tearing a hole in reality and traversing into a dimension of his own making.

Keeping these achievements to himself, he next sought out Kirigakure's infamous Head Hunter Division. After blazing through a series of ardous physical and mental trials, he met and was vetted by the Division's notorious Commander, Karagata Shiv, before being put to work as one of their many masked operatives. His goal to harden himself into a better, more efficient soldier was tested when, not long after his recruitment, the Fourth Great Shinobi War erupted across the continent...

/ Combat Style[/big]
A skilled ninjutsu user, Naohiro prefers to engage his foes at medium range and ensnare them in a web of techniques ready to catch them off-guard. While competent fighting in close-quarters, he tends to do so with supplementary ninjutsu techniques rather than relying on raw physical prowess alone. Regardless, he generally takes on a central role in a battlefield and attempts to aid his comrades by occupying the attentions of his opponents or by identifying and striking at vulnerabilities. He is adept at analysing and judging the flow of a battle, and believes strongly in strategy on the field.

Desire: Naohiro's outermost layer is the legendary cloak Desire. The unknown fabric is the dark hue of a moonless night, accented with ornately woven pale blue thread along the hem, and has been shaped to include a deep hood and slashes for arms and legs, allowing Naohiro to fully envelop himself in the folds of the garment without impeding movement. The inside of the cloak has been sewn with a secondary layer of semi-reflective white-grey fabric, allowing Desire to be inverted and worn inside-out as a form of adaptable camouflage in all manner of pale or obfuscated environments such as rain, mist, ice, water, deserts, and similar.
[big]Desire[/big]
“The world is yours for the taking.”What is best described as a cloak, Desire is a large piece of fabric woven with an indistinguishable material. It has a corded border, and several points that join together that can be utilized to join it around a neck like a cloak. However, if all the points are brought together, it functions as a bag. The cloak can be manipulated with the user’s 'Desire' weapon stat, and has strength equal to the weapon stat, allowing it to be effective for capturing. However, Desire also masks the chakra signatures of anything within it, and muffles all sound. This makes it very good at reconnaissance, and sometimes, smuggling. The cloak is 2m x 3m in size, but through focus can be expanded up to double that to 4m x 6m in size.

Flak Jacket: Naohiro wears a Kirigakure flak jacket as part of his standard mission attire. The jacket is dyed a deep midnight blue and covers the entirety of Naohiro’s torso and back from shoulder to beltline, with side protection, shoulder pads, upper arm guards, thigh pads and a stiff collar. The vest is padded with tightly woven high-strength fiber and is reinforced with a fine internal steel mesh, protecting the wearer from stabbing, slashing, and blunt force impacts with a strength of 50. The vest weighs around 12kg, but offers many practical pockets and concealed pouches within which equipment can be stored and readily accessed.

Protective Trousers: Naohiro's dark trousers are custom-made from the same fiber and mesh as his flak jacket, but thinner, more flexible, and sheathed with a smooth material that minimises the sounds of movement. Several dark, dull metal plates are sewn into the outer layer, concealed and interspaced to provide excellent protection without the clinking noise of touching plates. These trousers cover him from ankle to belt and provide a protection of 50 strength against attacks.

Kaguya Bone Ghost Senbon: A set of 5 specialized Senbon imbued with special chakra. giving the set two different effects. When thrown it will cause for the thrower to become invisible to the naked eye for the next four posts as long as the thrower does not exceed 1/3 of their [Speed]. The needles themselves are able to alter their course of flight to home in on their intended target for the next two posts but are unable to make radical changes in their course of flight. Able to swerve left and right up to forty-five degrees in flight to respond changes from the target and to bypass objects that come between the target and the weapon.

Kunai ×12: Ten are stored in Naohiro's kunai pouch on his right thigh. One is kept in his left trouser pocket, and one concealed beneath the lower back of his vest at waist height.

Shuriken ×12: Three are kept available in each of Nao's left and right trouser pockets. The remaining six are kept in his kunai holster on his thigh.

Explosive Tag ×6: Stored in small scroll compartments within his vest pockets.

Flash Tag ×4: Stored in small scroll compartments within his vest pockets.

Smoke Bomb ×5: Stored in small scroll compartments within his vest pockets.

Blank Scroll ×6: Stored in small scroll compartments within his vest pockets. Each scroll is six inches in height and, when unrolled, three feet in length.

Waterskin, 0.5gal (2¼L): Kept inside his vest.

Reinforced rope (12m): A long, thin coil of white rope consisting of a 3mm diameter steel ninja-wire core surrounded by 2mm of fine woven white hemp fibres. The steel core grants the rope incredibly high tensile strength and durability, making it resistant to slicing and snapping while allowing it to be a fraction of the diameter of an equivalent-strength standard rope. Naohiro keeps this tied around his waist, woven into the shape of a fashionable belt.

Fine-toothed comb ×1: The mandatory accessory of any Aisu that has a shred of pride, this comb has been carved from a single small shark bone and has had the Aisu crest carved into its bleached white spine. Five inches in length, it is usually kept in Hiro's right trouser pocket.

14m clean white bandages: These bandages have been pre-soaked in a sterilising alcohol solution, ensuring their suitability for field medicine in a pinch. 4m of bandages are wrapped around each of Naohiro's ankles, with a further 6m wrapped around his right thigh beneath his kunai pouch.

[big]/ Abilities: (1/3)[/big]
Naohiro is a prodigy among the Aisu, born with an innate aptitude for the clan's fabled Hyouton release and its constituent elements. This ability grants Naohiro three additional concentration slots for use with [Hyouton], [Suiton], and [Fuuton].
[big]/ Concentrations:[/big]
Ninjutsu Concentrations:[c]
Suiton Affinity
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Suiton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Suiton affinity. Suiton has a passive enveloping effect.
Suiton's effect is enveloping, meaning that suiton passively surrounds anything that it makes contact with. Suiton techniques that do not last over periods of time (i.e. exploding techniques) drench their opponents, but long term techniques will envelop anything they come in contact with and maintain a hold on it with 3/4's the strength of the technique, rounded down.

Fuuton Affinity
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Fuuton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Fuuton affinity. Fuuton has an cutting effect.
Fuuton has a natural cutting property to it that exists in all jutsu unless otherwise stated. This gives fuuton a unique opportunity to strike with additional power, and to act as an offensive defense. Regardless of their purpose, fuuton jutsu passively cut with no distinct pattern at 1/2 the strength of the technique rounded down unless otherwise stated. This also means that fuuton jutsu specifically designated to cut things can create devastating wound by essentially striking twice.

Hyouton Chakra Element
Through a genetic mutation, members of the Aisu clan are able to simultaneously use the elements of Suiton and Fuuton to create Hyouton, or Ice Release. Capable of rapidly reducing the temperature of objects, and even the air around them to freeze defenses and create weaponry from moisture in the air.
The Aisu clan is able to dynamically cool the temperature of things around them through their jutsu. In most of their jutsu, this occurs through the creation of ice using suiton jutsu, or the moisture already existing in the air. While Aisu are naturally resistant to decreased temperature, even they can succumb to the biting frost of their techniques. The temperature decrease, and the area they can decrease, is determined by the rank of techniques, making elder Aisu more deadly than their youngest, able to create snap freezes that can kill with ease. The only exception is freezing organic material directly, which requires higher ranking techniques.

This user has superb chakra control, and has learned to perform jutsu by channeling, without the use of hand seals. The user can channel any Ninjutsu that is designed to be channeled, and there are no specified parameters in which a jutsu must fall to be channeled by this method.

Sensor
Sensors are shinobi who are able to activate a sixth sense which can locate and read chakra sources. Sensory is advantageous as it allows shinobi to perceive without using any of their conventional senses, which can easily be deceived. Sensors are able to collect a lot of information through the interpretation of this sixth sense.

Jikukan Ninjutsu
Practitioners of this art are able to manipulate Space/Time to create localized pockets within either, or both, that they have control over. An extremely advanced form on Ninjutsu, it demands a firm control and complex understanding of the fundamentals of chakra.

Upon Aisu Naohiro’s tearing asunder of reality with Jikukan ninjutsu, the universe’s self-correction spun out the Fragment as a parallel, personal realm. The Fragment consists of a vast floating ice crystal hanging in an endless void of space, it’s many facets forming an oval gem-like structure some 200 x 200 x 200 metres in size, lit from within and without by a steady ethereal light.

Naohiro’s penchant for Hyouton ninjutsu is evident within his realm; the crystal and its contents are frigid to the touch and shine in a kaleidoscopic range of whites and blues reminiscent of real ice, and exert a continuous aura of Hyouton’s Cooling passive through the entire structure, dropping the ambient temperature to as low as -30C. Being the both the Architect of the realm and naturally attuned to Hyouton, Naohiro experiences negligible effects of the cooling and can choose to extend this resistance to other willing persons entering the realm. All others suffer a continual drain of -5 Endurance per post within the realm, stacking for up to 4 posts.

The giant crystal is largely semi-translucent, though many internal features are an opaque white or fully see-through, revealing a helical structure of chambers, stairs, corridors and rooms all of the same freezing, flawlessly beautiful faceted crystal. Beyond the outer walls of the crystal is an imagined backdrop of deep space; some parts are a black and featureless void, while in other quadrants lie distant nebulae, stars, and numerous astronomical oddities. Forever out of reach but always tempting the eye, they represent Naohiro’s ceaseless curiosity and pursuit of bigger questions.

The crystal, by contrast, is a world in which he is the master; his heart, blood, and mind made manifest. The thick gleaming walls of ice respond to his touch and thought, growing, shattering, twisting and solidifying to his whim at the speed of his [control], and are impervious to damage. At its core is a pillar of vibrant white light running the height of the crystal, bathing any central chambers in powerful illumination—to the point that the innermost heart of the crystal can be formed into a near-featureless pure white chamber where shadow does not exist—and fading in intensity to that of an overcast sky at the crystal’s edge.

Though their position, size, and exact makeup shifts with Naohiro’s influence, the crystal typically houses a number of standard chambers and passages. These include:

A helical staircase spiralling around the outer shell of the crystal running from top to bottom, from which various horizontal paths split off into a cross-cross of tunnels leading deeper into the body of the crystal.

A large, multistorey library and adjoining study, featuring ornate staircases, seating, desks, and shelves all of immaculately carved white ice. The shelves and desks are ordinarily bare, but fill with tomes, documents, accounts and memories recalled by Naohiro as he wills.

A dual-purpose surgery and interrogation room, complete with numerous operating tables, cells, operating tools, restraints, and medical facilities.

A vast hemispherical arena which can expand up to 80 metres in radius and height, decorated with fractal, hexagonal patterns across a faceted dome and floor. A number of small booths housing tiered seating, reminiscent of a threatre, line its upper edges.

A small isolated meditation chamber, whose walls turn flawlessly transparent, reflective, or opaque as Naohiro desires. No doors or features mar the walls of this room, and its perfectly even lighting shifts based on its current location in the crystal.

A central hub, located near the white pillar of light at the core of the crystal, with radially positioned alcoves each with ample room for fuuinjutsu seals on the floor or walls, and with pedestals for Anchored items.

A large armoury and exercise area, including many training mannequins, racks, and shelves. Like the library, the armoury is naturally empty unless Naohiro wills the ice to form specific objects, however there are impervious transparent pedestals, cabinets, and mounts for safekeeping of physical objects brought into the realm from the real world. While in these protective casings, Time is Closed on such objects, preventing decay or damage with age or due to the cold conditions.

A vault hidden in the depths of the crystal, containing numerous unmarked sub-chambers with ample storage for bulk items and currency brought in from the real world.

A private chamber, inaccessible except by Naohiro creating a doorway, with all the comforts expected by a noble-born man for a good nights’ rest. Unlike most other areas of the crystal, this area remains relatively stable and is filled with many personal effects and physical items of furniture, decoration, and comfort brought in from the real world.
Type of Organization: Sub-Org of Kirigakure No Sato
Organization Rank: S-Rank
Ryo Coffer: 368/630
Background:

When people think of Kirigakure, what usually comes to mind is their infamous hunting division. Known as hunter-nin throughout the country and beyond, they are a division within the Kirigakure military known primarily for tracking and brutally disposing of rogue shinobi. Over generations, HHD has developed the reputation for utterly eliminating targets and has instilled fear throughout the land especially in those foolish enough to desert the village and or commit crimes against the state. It doesn’t come as a surprise then to find that the shinobi that make up the division are some of the finest Kirigakure has to offer.

The division is organised into multiple branches each with their own area of operation and expertise, although inter-branch co-operation and rivalry is commonplace. Each branch is subdivided into Cells, with operators reassigned depending on the needs of a mission or circumstance. The majority of operators have worked with one another at some point or another, and there exists a closeknit sense of community and competition. Each Cell is assigned a squad leader and typically incorporates up to four additional operators or support staff. Squad leaders often change based on the task at hand, but are always comprised of those that show exceptional leadership potential and a remarkable record of completing tasks handed to them efficiently and effectively.
Objective:

The primary prerogative of the Head Hunter Division is to ensure the safety and security of Kirigakure no Sato, chiefly realised through the careful disposal of threats and control over the flow of knowledge and secrets within and without the village. They are the masked wardens of the village who actively seek, secure, or destroy any and all threats to Kirigakure's supremacy and who keep the general populace in line. Their purview includes acting as the village's premier special forces unit for clandestine operations such as infiltration, reconnaissance, and assassination, as well as the internal secret police agency tasked with preventing the egress or proliferation of village secrets. In recent years, the division has additionally been granted charter to freely explore avenues of military research and development, including biosciences, cryptography and fuuinjutsu, and spiritual containment. The division is organised into numerous branches who each specialise in a different range of tasks, although most operators possess skillsets varied enough to work in numerous branches. The division is currently comprised of the following branches:
The Administration Branch is the mandatory backbone of the Head Hunter Division whose members and activities are often overlooked, despite being the only visible public face of the organisation. This branch is the home of non-combat personnel, supporting staff, recruits, and trainees. They ensure the continued growth and efficiency of the division, maintain operational bases, organise members, communicate with village leadership and source missions and objectives for the various other branches.

Duties:

Division Oversight and Upkeep

Military Intelligence
[* ]Recruitment and Training

Formerly known as the Hunt and Disposal Unit, the Containment Branch comprises some of the most renowned and infamous cells of the Head Hunter Division. Members of this branch are trained as exceptional trackers, assassins, and soldiers of the finest calibre. Operators in this branch are primarily tasked with locating, capturing, and/or eliminating selected high-value targets. Although often deployed to resist external threats, this branch is chiefly concerned with defectors and runaways from Kirigakure, whose destruction ensures that any village secrets contained within their bodies—such as chakra types, techniques, genetics, medicines used, and so forth—will never be discovered by outsiders. The Containment Branch additionally includes experts in defensive chakra applications to maintain village defences for internal security, and spiritual containment for dealing with exotic threats.

Duties:

Hunting and Disposal

Defensive Chakra Applications

Spiritual Containment

The Inquisitorial Branch, formerly known as the Torture and Interrogation Unit, is dedicated to the complete control of information for Kirigakure, in addition to the elimination of corruption, treason, and dissent. Their numbers include some of the most malicious and heartless individuals known to the village—and many more who are not known. They typically operate using clandestine methods with little transparency or oversight, and subject their captives to intense or coercive interrogation and torture. They are the true spies of the village, seeking to retrieve and control information by any means necessary, and are infamous for going above and beyond the norms of other branches of the Head Hunter Division in their crusade for loyalty and service. The few survivors of the Inquisition invariably emerge mutilated or crippled beyond recognition—and with a distict and fervent newfound loyalty to Kirigakure.

Duties:

Torture and Interrogation

Information Retrieval and Control

Internal Security and Population Control

Investigation, Enforcement and Punishment

The newest addition to the Head Hunter Division, the R&D Branch subsumes many aspects of Kirigakure's former Scientific Research Institute and is now the pioneer of weapons research, bionengineering, and scientific endeavours within the village. Its membership includes operators of exceptional intelligence, ambition, and often questionable or absent morality. They seek knowledge and progress above all, and at any cost. The R&D division has numerous duties including weapons research and village engineering projects, chemical and biological applications and weaponisation, drug and medicine research, cryptography and chakra research.
Duties:

Engineering and Weapons Development

Biosciences

Cryptoanalysis and Fuuinjutsu

Archeology and Expeditionary Forces

Operational Bases:
The main building and headquarters of the Head Hunter Division is a secure military bunker concealed in a warren of tunnels beneath the main administration building at the heart of Kirigakure no Sato. The division quite literally operates in the shadows of the village and beneath the notice of the general population. This operational hub includes everything an aspiring operator could require, with a multitude of facilities suitable for every task and need. Operators entering the division HQ have everything they require to vanish from life on the outside if they so choose. Included within the bunker are:

Offices and administration rooms

Residential and recreation facilities

Training arenas and courses, including a small subterranean coliseum

Armouries, workshops, and ranges

Briefing rooms and archives

Confinement holding cells, interrogation, and torture rooms

Laboritories and research areas

Medical facilities and morgue

Communication and transportation hub
The public face of the HHD rests in front of a rather large vault door leading down into the bunker. The door is littered with a multitude of complex fuuinjutsu protecting it from any external threats attempting to infiltrate downward. On the right side of this impressive door is a single desk leading to an array of surface offices containing staff who interact with the rest of the village and its important figures, in addition to a rudimentary recruitment office and printing department.

Behind the door and downward is where the true face of HHD lies. There is a vast network of tunnels that lead to the expansive network of facilities. At the center of the facility is a large room that acts as the command center of the HHD. The command center is a place for all members to gather during times of crisis and or for mission briefing and the like. This room has significant importance as it is usually the place in which mutiny is enacted if ever the commander is in need of replacement. As with the the most prestigious position in the village, Mizukage, the title of Commander is also a contested one with an option provided for those willing to take control forcefully. Indeed a rarity to behold, the act has happened before, however usually only during the most strenuous of times when leadership is required beyond what has already been attempted.

Surrounding the central command chamber is where the the majority of the HHD operates. Protected by a complicated security system the whole thing can be completely flooded if compromised. Brutal interrogations and things of questionable nature are the norm here. Things are not always by the book when you're underneath the village in this facility, but the majority of village can sleep a bit better knowing that these tireless few work day and night to ensure the safety of the village. This is definitely the most secured place within the division and acts as a unifying area in which those in the division can thrive and grow to become perfect weapons in service of Kirigakure no Sato.

Requirements: All members are required to complete a recruitment thread with an active member of the organization. Field operators are generally required to be Chuunin rank or higher due to the intensive nature of the work, however exceptions may occur and many other positions and training programmes are available for less experienced applicants. Genin trainees can be shaped into their desired branch and may accompany senior staff on less lethal assignments.

All members are given and expected to carry a Standard Operator Mask. This is a white full face mask with the symbol of Kirigakure displayed on the forehead which must be worn for all official organisation business. This aids the operator in concealing their identity from foreign agents, thus protecting themselves and the Division from potential threats. The masks include thin eye slits and may be augmented with featuers or decorated with shapes and styles to the wearer's preference, however these should not include anything to reveal the identity of the shinobi who carries it.

The Head Hunter Division is led by the iron hand of the Commander, who holds absolute oversight of the organisation and all its branches. Each branch is led by a dedicated Captain, except for the Administration Branch which is the purview of the Commander or his appointed delegate. The Commander and the three Captains form the senior command structure of the division. Beneath the Captains, each branch consists of elite Squad Leaders and standard Operators who form the bulk of the organisation. Trainees, who are typically younger inexperienced recruits yet to prove their mettle within the organisation, are assigned to the Administration Branch at least until such a time as they display competance or potential in one of the other branches.
[big]Head Hunter Division Techniques and Styles[/big]

[Silent Hunter]
The Silent Hunter style originated as a series of silent fighting techniques developed by Commander Karagata Shiv of Kirigakure's Head Hunter Division, further applied by Overseer Kaikyo Kohon of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, and finally revised and reimagined by Aisu Naohiro to become an expansive doctrine of techniques essential to any eager Head Hunter to aid in infiltration, tracking, and assassination.
Requires: [Stealth] & [Perception]
[Vigilance]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The user maintains a constant state of vigilance with respect to their immediate surroundings and all persons in their vicinity. This allows the user to effortlessly identify and recall the environment, obstructions, and structures around them to passively recognise entry and escape routes, vantage points, probable sources of cover, and so forth. Additionally, the user can quickly recognise and differentiate civilians from trained (D-rank or higher) persons, such as by analysing gait, body structure, reactions, deftness, and the target's awareness.

[Anaerobics]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Following dedicated training, the user is capable of moving and fighting for extended periods without breathing to minimise noise or avoid inhalation. The user can hold their breath for twice the usual amount of time without hindering their own abilities or actions.

[Breathe and Listen]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The user takes a deep breath and focuses their hearing on all the sounds in their vicinity, and is able to pick up on the sounds of movement within 15 metres of their position. They can accurately identify noises and the source, such as footsteps, the rustle of clothing, breathing, or the drawing of weapons. Areas with loud noises or crowds, or targets with specialised techniques to mask their sounds, can throw off the accuracy of this technique.

[Just Listen]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Any time the user is moving, they have trained themselves to be attuned to the sound of people moving. This passive technique allows the user to accurately pinpoint targets within 30 metres of their location, and can differentiate the sounds of multiple people to separate targets and determine how many people are in a given area even if they can’t see them.

[Featherstep]
C-Rank Taijutsu Stance
The user has learned to move in a particular way to lighten the tread of their feet and with carefully placed steps. This allows the user to move without leaving any visible trail to all but the most experienced of trackers, eliminating obvious environmental disturbances and signs such as footprints, scuffs, displaced dirt, and so on. The lightfooted nature of this stance imparts a +6 to Speed at the cost of -6 to Strength as the user primes their muscles for swift and gentle movement rather than power.

[Projectile Whistles]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The user has attuned their hearing to the sound of things moving through the air within 30 metres of their person. This allows them to hear projectiles flying at them from a general location, even if they can’t see the source.

[Target Read]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The user has learned to accurately gauge their own speed and strength compared to that of a target, allowing them to determine a fairly accurate estimate as to how fast a target is moving or could potentially move, or how strong a target may be. This can help the user read their opponent's potential and better predict the flow of combat.

[Analyse]
B-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The user has learned to attune their hearing to target desired, specific sources of sound, and effectively block out all other distractions. This allows them to focus on individual targets or sounds, for example being able to pick out one conversation within a busy room, or identify one set of footsteps from among many. When focusing on a particular sound, the user can effortlessly interpret its characteristics to learn details about the source. For example, analysing the sound of footsteps can reveal the weight, size, or speed of a target, while hearing the rustle of movement could reveal the presence of armour, weapons, or other worn materials, and hearing the sound of weapons or projectiles can inform the user about the type, size, speed or strength of the weapons in use.

[Argus]
B-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The user has trained their vision to accurately pick up on and interpret details even through darkness or dense visual obstructions. This technique allows the user to see clearly through shadows, darkness, or semi-transparent media such as water, ice, smoke, mist, dust, heat shimmers, and other airbourne particulate or visual disturbances out to a distance of 60 metres.

[Target Speed]
B-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
The user strikes with pinpoint accuracy at the correct pressure points or muscle groups on an opponent's body that can effectively debilitate their speed. When struck, the opponent suffers a shock throughout their body and a sudden loss of mobility, manifesting as a -6 to Speed for the next five posts. This technique can be applied using a thrown weapon, however doing so from range lowers the potency of the strike and only imparts a -3 penalty to Speed instead.

[Target Strength]
B-Rank Taijutsu Manoeuvre
The user strikes with pinpoint accuracy at the correct pressure points or muscle groups on an opponent's body that can effectively debilitate their strength. When struck, the opponent suffers a shock throughout their body and a sudden loss of vigour, manifesting as a -6 to Strength for the next five posts. This technique can be applied using a thrown weapon, however doing so from range lowers the potency of the strike and only imparts a -3 penalty to Strength instead.

[Heartbeat]
A-Tank Taijutsu Discipline
The user has attuned their hearing to the sound of heartbeats. This allows them to accurately locate and track anything with a heartbeat within 50 metres of their person, and filter the sound of heartbeats out from other surrounding noises and distractions regardless of environment.

[Precision Aim]
A-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The user has studied anatomy to the extent that they can passively apply that knowledge to their strikes and aim in the heat of combat. This allows the user to identify and exploit opportunities for pinpoint attacks to cause severe internal damage to a target, such as breaking bones, rupturing organs, slicing muscles and tendons, and so forth. This technique aids the user in spotting weak points in the armour or guard of a target and deliving precision attacks in those areas to bypass physical defences and strike the body beneath.

[Ghoststep]
A-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: [Featherstep] or *Fuuton • Wind Skating
The user has learned to move with exceptional care and finesse, lightening the tread of their feet and stepping with extreme care or by marginally levitating their feet with a subconscious application of fuuton chakra. This allows the user to move without detriment while eliminating all traces of their passing, leaving no physical sign. Additionally, the user can move as normal without triggering physical traps such as pressure plates or tripwires. If moving via fuuton, the swirling chakra additionally scours away any scent left behind by the user. If moving via careful physical steps, the user leaves no residue of chakra use. The lightfooted nature of this stance can impart a boost to speed of up to +12, at the cost of a corresponding debuff to Strength as the user primes their muscles for swift and gentle movement rather than power.

[Instant Strike]
A-Rank Nintaijutsu Manoeuvre
The user prepares an attack or action before priming their muscles and surging forward in an instantaneous, chakra-assisted movement towards or away from a target within 50 metres, which consumes one of the user's two available teleport movements per thread. This allows the user to jump forward and deliver a lightning-fast series of strikes to a target without any perceivable precursor motion, or to attack a target already in range and then instaneously move away to a safe location by identifying an object within range that is at least 1/5th the user's size while preparing the technique. An object used in this manner must be solid and must not already be imbued with foreign chakra. The user can perform up to [Base Speed/10] strikes as part of this technique, performed at up to +12 Speed, but the focus on rapid motion leaves the user unprepared to guard and thus a corresponding Endurance debuff for the duration of the strike.

[Coverage]
A-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The user has learned how to make the most effective use of their environment to avoid being seen and detected. This allows the user to effectively conceal themselves and blend into an environment with minimal effort, increasing their effectiveness at hiding in mist, water, ice, foliage, behind terrain, and so forth.

[Venator]
S-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Keen eyes and a wealth of tracking experience allows the user to easily identify and track all manner of targets over extreme distances, regardless of terrain type or method of travel. The practitioner can subconsciouly pick up on signs such as disturbed foliage, footprints, and environmental disturbances, and can accurately determine their age, source, and direction of travel by their condition. The user can accurately pick out individuals from many different traces and determine the number of companions or accomplaces with the target.

[Quiescence]
S-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The user has learned to move in total silence, and does not produce any sound when moving through any means. They cannot be heard unless a person listening for them has a specialized hearing technique of equal or higher rank.

[Reaper]
S-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The user has trained themselves to become perfectly attuned to all manner of sounds in a wide vicinity of their person, and can focus their hearing to up to 150 metres to identify and track targets. This passive technique allows the practitioner to accurately identify and differentiate people, animals, and all sources of noise within 50 metres of their person, even in the face of loud complicated distractions, noise, or interference. Over 50 metres, the accuracy of the technique suffers slightly and hearing at such an extent requires fewer distractions. Over 100 metres, the user requires silence in their immediate vicinity and can only gauge an approximate direction, distance, and quantity of noise sources, but can still identify the type of creature. The maximum range of this technique is 150 metres. Additionally, the user has learned to interpret vibrations through the ground as a rudimentary tremorsense, and is able to accurately track sources of movement through vibrations within 50 metres of their location.

[Chemosensory]
S-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The user has achieved exceptional proficiency in identifying and interpreting different tastes and scents, and can recall previously encountered tastes and scents with remarkable accuracy from a mental catalogue of sources. This allows the user to detect trace amounts of scent even from minute sources, such as from a blade of grass that touched the leg of a fleeing target, from old footprints, or traces of scent on the wind over great distances. Additionally, the user's knowledge of scents and tastes allows them to accurately determine the origin and age of a source, and with multiple sources can effectively determine a direction and speed of travel.

[Blurred Movement]
S-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Having undertaken intensive training sessions to drill the body into extreme high speed movement, the user has mastered a method of moving and fighting which makes their motions highly confusing to an opponent. This causes the user's movements and attacks to become extremely blurred and impossible to see or follow for anyone without a visual perception technique of equal or higher rank. Even those with such a technique will find it harder to determine the user's attack patterns or where they are aiming to strike.

[Hunter’s Cryptolect]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
A Head Hunter can convey a hundred meanings without ever opening their mouth. This discipline represents the user’s mastery of the Hunter’s Cryptolect, a secretive and complicated means of communication taught exclusively to members of Kirigakure’s Head Hunter Division. More than just a spoken or written language, the Cryptolect incorporates vocal, somatic, tonal and metered elements which can be used individually or together to convey detailed private messages. This grants practitioners the ability to communicate silently such as through hand signs and body language, cryptically through a scrambled written or spoken cipher, or even by hiding meanings and messages in plain sight by concealing elements of the Cryptolect into seemingly plain, everyday sentences, for example by using tones, accents, or hidden patterns in the meter of a phrase. This communication is innately cryptic and unintuitive, often interspersed with rogue elements to throw off a potential eavesdropper, making it nigh impossible to be realised—let alone properly interpreted—by anyone not trained in its particular use at the Head Hunter Division headquarters.

A set of 5 specialized Senbon imbued with special chakra. giving the set two different effects.
