Physical Features: Yuichi is a fairly average height man. He overly appears to be a standard male average in almost every aspect. Healthy weight, height, pale pinkish skin. The only stunning feature that stands out are his almost crystal emerald eyes that lie behind a usual stoic stare that makes him impossible to read. He keeps his face clean shaven while sporting a managed slicked back blonde hair that is very straight.
Clothing/Accessories: Yuichi being a fairly straight forward and concise man, he prefers to wear almost exclusively business attire. Sporting black formal pants, black sports coat, and a white dress shirt with a black tie paired with black dress shoes. His suit is fitted accentuating his average figure well making him look put together and organized. He also wears square sunglasses with a dark navy-blue tint.
Personality: Yuichi is a stoic, concise, and straight forward man. He prefers not to beat around the bush, but is almost gentle despite how forward he can be. He prefers to not use filler words, and think through all his statements almost as if he was calculating the best way to be precise with his language. Even with his straightforwardness he has a great sense of care to his words as he feels a great sense of duty towards being a responsible person for his students. He has a deep care and love for them to ensure they grow up without the worries that adults have. With this in mind Yuichi has trained himself to be the perfect generalist focusing on all aspects of his skills preferring not to overly specialize in one field. Making him a jack-of-all-trades but a master of none.

This cleaver is rather sharp but hides its edge with a dotted thick white cloth making the strikes blunt rather than sharp. This cleaver is approximately 18 inches in blade length, with a width of 5 inches, and a 6 inch handle. This cleaver is kept clung with a simple magnetic clasp to Yuichi's back typically hidden underneath his suit jacket. This clasp is a shoulder strap mechanism that extends down as suspenders to his belt keeping it sturdy during movement. The cleaver is capable of being sheathed and unsheathed to his back with one hand

Ability
This special cleaver hits defensive stances, maneuvers, jutsu, and armor as if it has -5 Strength. Giving the cleaver an offensive edge against defenses. However when used in defense this cleaver suffers a -5 strength penalty making Yuichi's defense with the cleaver weaker.

Yuichi has developed the ability to impend restrictions on himself to then reap equivalent buffs afterwards. This allows him to take a debuff up-front for a specified amount of time before then gaining a buff afterwards due to it. The stronger a restriction he puts on himself the stronger a buff he can receive. He can also impend implied debuffs for example but not limited to cutting an arm off, reducing his chakra pool for the rest of the thread, or even restricting the use of ninjutsu/genjutsu/taijutsu to receive a buff that’s fair in cost to what he’s restricted himself with. These restrictions take place in the form of a Shibari jutsu that he can develop new restrictions and buffs through.

A character with this concentration is able to utilize Raiton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Raiton affinity. Raiton has a shocking effect.
Passive (Shocking)Show
Raiton has the effect of shocking, which means causes it's effect to be diffuse upon impact. In organic material, this causes nervous stimulation which results in numbness, tingling, loss of sensation, and sometimes paralysis. In inorganic material, this means that the strength of the jutsu diffuses across an area 2x the size of the attack. In a jutsu that creates a lightning ball 2m in diameter, if it struck a wall the size of the attack would cover a 4m area.

Additionally, the strength of the nervous effect on organic material from raiton jutsu is determined by the Strength stat range they fall into.

Fuuton has a natural cutting property to it, that exists in all jutsu unless otherwise stated. This gives fuuton a unique opportunity to strike with additional power, and to act as a offensive defense. Regardless of their purpose fuuton jutsu passively cut with no distinct pattern at 1/2 the strength of the technique rounded down unless otherwise stated. This means if someone punched a 20 strength fuuton wall, they would get cuts on their hand applied with 10 strength. This also means that fuuton jutsu specifically designated to cut things can create devastating wound by essentially striking twice.

Before casting an offensive jutsu, Yuichi will make a pact that he must land the ninjutsu attack successfully within the next 2 posts, and if doing so he will be able to to then roll the cost of that jutsu into another equally [Control] casted ninjutsu at no extra cost. However, missing the attack will cause Yuichi's jutsu then to cost double with no extra cast.

After doing the needed hand seals, the user creates a small vortex of Fuuton chakra around a projectile in their hand that spins with [Control] Strength. This causes the projectile to corkscrew through the air, allowing it to travel an extra 10m and applying the Fuuton passive when thrown. This doesn't make the projectile any faster, only increases its range and ability to cut.

After doing the needed hand seals, the user gathers wind around their feet. Then, the user will use the wind to blast them from the ground, enabling them to leap into the air an extra 10 meters at [Control] speed. The Fuuton passive is not applied in this technique.

After performing the needed hand seals, the user is able to glide on air as if they were skating on ice. This allows them to move faster (+3 speed) but lowers their ability to translate force (-3 Strength). This doesn't allow them to fly, but rather to travel over things like land, water, and ice with greater ease. The user is only held several inches off of the ground. This Jutsu does not expire until the user’s chakra supply runs out or the user shuts it off. The fuuton passive is not applied in this technique.

After performing the needed hand seals, the user covers a projectile they are holding in fuuton empowered wind. Then, when the weapon has been thrown as normal, the user is able to change it's direction by up to 90 degrees once with no drop in momentum on the projectiles part. This technique only lasts one post.

After performing the required hand seals, the user expels a basket ball sized ball of wind from their mouth. This ball of wind travels up to 10m at [Control] speed, and explodes with [Control] Strength on contact with solid matter or at the end of its range.

The user will first perform the required hand seals and then gather wind around an opponent. This will form a tornado around them at [Control] Speed which extends 25m into the air and has a radius of 3m. The tornado will push back anything that touches it with [Control] Strength, while also cutting at whatever tries to push through as well as a kunai would with the same strength. This technique lasts for 4 posts.

After forming the necessary hand seals, the user coats their weapon in a vortex of wind. This extends the weapon's range by 1m while not adding anything to its weight for 5 posts. It also causes the weapon to gain an edge as sharp as your average sword. This also applies the fuuton passive with [Control] Strength on contact with an opponent.

With a single handseal Yuichi will focus fuuton chakra all around a weapon or his fists, that when something is struck will leap off onto the struck area surrounding the target in a 1 meter thick cloak of wind constantly attacking with [Control] strength for the next 2 posts.

After the correct hand seals are performed, the user coats themselves in a thick layer of lightning. This armour of lightning forms near instantly and requires [Control] Strength to break. During this time, the user's physical strikes apply the Raiton shocking effect.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will extend two fingers toward a target. A bolt of lightning will jump up to 10 meters from their fingers at [Control] Speed and Strength.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user will coat a weapon they are holding in Raiton electricity for 5 posts. This causes the shock effect to be produced on any contact with a target, while also granting blunt weapons the ability to cut through skin to produce shallow wounds. This also works for thrown weapons, however if the projectile remains out of contact with the user for more than 2 posts the technique will dissipate early.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user will channel Raiton chakra to two of their fingers. They will then be able to fire up to three total bullet sized balls of concentrated lightning from their fingertips. These bullets will travel at [Control] speed, but will not have any physical force. Instead, they will apply light electrical burns similar to a sun burn and will apply Raiton's shocking effect.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user will create a 1 meter long rod of lightning in their hand at [Control] Speed. They are then able to launch it at their Strength in a single direction. Upon contact the spear will explode with [Control] Strength. If it has not been launched by the end of the second post it will dissipate.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user will seep Raiton chakra in an area around them with a 25m diameter. This will produce an electric current on the ground in this area visible as crackling lightning on the surface. Any other than the user who step into this zone will have the shocking effect applied and their legs will sustain [Control] Strength shocks. This current lasts 3 posts, while it ends immediately if the user leaves the area.

D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After performing the hand seals and pricking the opponent with some sort of small weapon (usually senbon), the opponent feels their arms and legs fall asleep. It feels as if the blood flow to these appendages has basically stopped, making their movements a tad sluggish and just all around uncomfortable. This jutsu doesn’t really hinder a person, but it makes everything they do feel off. For those who are attuned to the way their body feels during battle, it can be extremely distracting. Lasts 3 posts.

D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After performing the necessary hand seals, any victim that sees the user preforming the hand seals will be induced under the genjutsu. This causes the target to begin to smell rotting flesh and decaying bodies. The jutsu can cause nausea and vomiting from the target, depending on how sensitive their sense of smell is. The smell of the dead can also cause some mental stress on the target. This genjutsu lasts for three (3) posts.

By performing the necessary handseals, any person that looks upon Yuichi will suddenly have their sight filled with sun rays disturbing their vision. This can cause the target to not see clearly, and have issues as their vision appears to be disturbed as if always looking in the direction of the sun making things beyond a few feet hard to see. This genjutsu lasts for 3 posts.

By performing the necessary handseals, any opponent that Yuichi touches will suddenly hear a white noise ringing in their ear. Its not overwhelming, but just enough that it is always present and cannot be shook no matter how hard they try. It can be mildly distracting and obtrusive. This ringing lasts for 3 posts.

By performing the necessary handseals, Yuichi will crack his knuckles for his target whom upon seeing the event will every so often see when Yuichi makes an attack his movements will create a 3d Stereoscopic effect, doubling his image on-top one another. This double image effect lasts for 3 posts.

C-Ranked Status Genjutsu
This is a three post genjutsu. To start the genjutsu, the ninja does the hand seals that are needed and then places a hand on the target. Until the genjutsu ends the target is able to remember a lot more about their past and has a lighter barrier over their consciousness making it easier for them to spill information. This doesn’t weaken their will, however, meaning if they are aware it’s a genjutsu, they are more than capable of using Kai.

Jujutsu Prior to the rise of Shinobi, the feudal armies consisted almost entirely of samurai. Amongst the samurai, there was a great need to be able to defeat an armed and armored opponent with no weapon, or only a short weapon. Because striking against an armored opponent proved ineffective, samurai learned that the most efficient methods for neutralizing an enemy took the form of pins, joint locks, and throws. With this knowledge, the samurai of Lightning Country developed a series of techniques around the principle of using an attacker's energy against them, rather than directly opposing it- the series of techniques ultimately becoming known as Jujutsu- the gentle art. Jujutsu is only really taught in Lightning Country, though it's not impossible to have learned it third-hand, given the right series of events.

A essential technique, the front snap punch is one of the basic strikes of the Jujutsu style. Starting with their feet squared apart and their arms up in a guarding position, the user strikes with a small jab using their left fist. As the left fist is brought back, the user twists on the ball of their rear foot, moving their hips in unison to gain extra speed and force, releasing a powerful strike with their right hand.

A essential technique, the front snap kick is one of the basic strikes of the Jujutsu style. Starting with their left foot forward, the user brings the knee of their rear leg up to the height of their hips briefly before snapping their foot out towards the targets groin or a below-the-belt vulnerable area. When executed properly, this quick attack is capable of surprising an opponent and briefly putting them off balance to create window for the user to execute a strike or flip.

A spatial awareness and body sense that is extremely important to practitioners of jujutsu, the user has practiced falling in a variety of conditions, and has learned how to distribute their weight and manipulate their body to minimize damage. Additionally, the user knows how to protect themselves from any incoming attacks during their fall, bringing their outside knee and arm up to guard their organs and head. This isn't really effective against falls greater than 30 feet and is not meant for aerial combat.

A simple move, the user will intercept an enemy strike by using their wrist to weave inside the opponent's attack before redirecting their opponents attack outside of the user's space and away creating an opening for a follow up counter-attack.

If the user is ever flipped they are able to position themselves in a way by rotating their body so that they can roll out from an attack that disrupts their balance. They can also use this maneuver to roll out of the way of an attack shrinking their body's attack print making them harder to hit. Rolling is also a critical discipline as the user can roll with attacks and holds to prevent serious injury from occurring.
C-Rank Jujutsu (2):

[i]C-Rank Jujutsu Maneuver[/i]
This lock requires the user to control their opponents arm pulling it close to their chest with the opponents thumb pointing away from the user's chest. They'll position their groin just midway on the opponent's upper arm as they lock one leg over the opponents neck, and the other leg across their chest holding them down while squeezing their legs together to trap the controlled arm. If the user raises their groin and pulls back on the trapped hand, with enough strength they can even break the opponents arm.

The user will slip behind their opponent locking their right arm's elbow tight across the opponent's neck in line with their chin. With their left arm the user will slip it behind the opponents head while locking their right hand on their left's arms bicep locking the opponent into a choke hold. If applied long enough its possible to choke the opponent into unconsciousness.

Toryu:
Toryu, a style of Kenjutsu founded in the Land of Pebbles, melds traditional kenjutsu swordplay with subversive feints and sudden bursts of close-quarters combat, two unyielding hills crashing together to form a mountain. Toryu typically favors the use of the blade with one hand, utilizing the freedom of movement to use one's hands, joints, legs, head, and even the hilt and handle of the sword to make an already deadly style more unpredictable and more lethal. Ignorantly considered a very "unrefined" style by most practitioners of the sword, Toryu is actually one of the most difficult styles of Kenjutsu to learn and master. The very basic premise of the style revolves around the firm control and manipulation of one's own movements and body, some techniques requiring execution while using another attack as a feint or misdirection while not sacrificing strength. The style has no weapon requirements outside of a sword, but many users often prefer kodachi, wakizashi, ninjato, or even tanto, the reduced size and weight of the blades having fewer blind spots and making the user's weapon more mobile.

The signature Stance of Toryu, practitioners relax the muscles in their bodies, gaining additional flexibility in their movements in how they approach the enemy, how they retreat, how they evade attacks, and how they attack the opponent. This Stance allows the practitioner to more easily read opponent's attacks and defend against them by evading in unusual ways, such as ducking, bending around, and quickly sidestepping attacks without needlessly exposing themselves to additional attacks. This fleet-footed Stance lets the practitioner mix up their movements to confuse and misdirect the opponent, allowing them to attack lesser-known openings in the opponent's guard. It also allows the practitioner to rapidly and reflexively change the angle, position and grip of their weapon with minimal movement, allowing them multiple manners in which they can attack the opponent or defend against attacks.

A practitioner of Toryu is capable of attacking with every part of their body, even their heads. This Discipline represents the practitioner's capacity and experience with executing palm strikes, heel strikes, knee strikes, elbow strikes, and headbutts/skull bashes just as effectively as regular punches, kicks, and sword strikes. This Discipline allows the practitioner to consistently execute these kinds of attacks while minimizing or eliminating openings in their defenses or shock/damage they would experience while using these kinds of strikes.

Designed as a counterattack but also a potent attack by itself, the practitioner will first wait to sidestep an attack before countering with a swift elbow strike with their sword hand to the opponent's face to stun them or cause them to stagger by winding them, grabbing the opponent's arm or garment with their unarmed hand to hold them in place. Immediately following the elbow strike, the practitioner will pull the opponent to one side while executing a slash in the opposite direction with their sword hand. Opponents with an Acrobatics technique of equal or higher rank than this technique can escape from the grappling component of this technique.

Yuichi used to be a bright eyed student in Kumogakure's academies. A middling student in everything with B grades to match. He was sufficient in all skills, and quite a model average student. He didn't seek glory, to be more than what was expected of him. At the age of 12 he had already committed himself to being a forever Chuunin, serve his time until retirement, and then live off somewhere nice in the country side. He was more than capable of completing his missions and found himself rising to the rank of Chuunin at the ripe age of 19 fulfilling a goal of his on that 12-step plan to retirement. However, the future took a dark turn for Yuichi's future as war was brewing on the horizon.

After freshly being promoted to Chuunin it didn't take long for him to be assigned a team for further training and missions. Yuichi had just been getting into the swing of things with his new Chuunin squad, making friends with younger colleagues much more talented than himself. It was during this time Yuichi discovered himself, more than an average student, but also discovered a new code to live by.

His new friend and teammate, Ota Minori, a 16-year-old ninjutsu specialist that Yuichi considered his best friend at the time was a talented ninjutsu sealer that was capable of moving mountains at a young age, focusing all his efforts on perfecting the ultimate elemental skills with fuuton. While his other teammate, Murano Mari, was a down to earth 18-year-old medical kunoichi that helped keep the boys reasonable and in line when they'd get hyper-active. Minori had really brought Yuichi out of his shell as he helped calm down Yuichi's concerns of not being overly good in anything, and would hype him up about how he was overly good at everything, even those that Minori was terrible at. Meanwhile, Mari kept Yuichi's head in check, by always reminding them of their duty, and their commitment together to be the best they can for those younger than them. He recalled a conversation the trio had that he replays over in his head everyday.

Minori spoke as the trio ate in the field surrounding a campfire. "Hey Mari, why did you become a medical kunoichi?" Mari dug into the pot before them brewing stew as she cocked her head giving Minori an odd look. "What do you mean?" Minori rolled his eyes as he huffed before sitting up on his log clapping his hands together, breathing deep before he spoke. "Well I specialized in ninjutsu because I wanted to be the best wind style user in all of Kumo. Yeah, some guys can move mountains. But not everyone can tame the wind. Yuichi is a jack-of-all-trades master of none, making him the utility knife of Kumo. What's the big deal with healing? There's a whole bunch of medical ninja, why did ya wanna join them?" Mari furrowed her eyebrows as she scoffed at Minori's hubris. "I know its not glamorous if that's what you're getting at. Not everyone wants to be noticed like you Minori. Some of us just want to help in a productive way, I train for the sake of the next generation, not for myself." Mari looked over at Yuichi giving him a soft smile as she spoke, making the older teen blush.

Despite the pleasant memories, the team found themselves over the course of the next few years about to embroiled in a bitter and brutal civil war that would take the lives of many they knew. At first they watched on the horizon as Kumogakure recalled them back to the village for reinforcement as the families fought a bitter war, but not ending it before dragging Kumo into the midst as the Hojo called upon the shinobi's assistance. Kumo abiding as they came to the Hojo's aid fighting their own countrymen. It was here Yuichi first hand saw the horrors of war, what men would do to one another even if the prior month they had been having tea. It was demoralizing, downright dehumanizing in his eyes as he saw samurai and shinobi he had spoken to personally rip each other apart on the battlefield.

After months of fighting Yuichi's team had been worn down. Minori's usual boisterous behavior now made him a hollow shell of what he was. He seemed to be a husk reacting on pure battle instinct when fighting, no longer embellishing his abilities, but now a seasoned soldier only at the age of 16. In-fact they all were, Yuichi almost ready to give his head to the enemy just to escape this new found hell he found. Even in-spite of the exiled Raikage's assistance, Yuichi had seen so much loss on the battlefield his spirit was broken. While Yuichi's body wanted to stop, it was here Mari found her stride working diligently to save as many as she could, working hard to heal the younger generation that was forced to fight on their front door step, saving as many as she could. Where as Yuichi had retreated back into his quiet nature, and Minori stopped speaking almost all together, Mari tried her best to help the two in their pit of darkness.

One dark evening after heavy fighting, Yuichi sat at a fire at their encampment as he polished his weapons wiping blood from them staring at his reflection of what he had become. What he had done. He sighed as he stamped the blade in the ground with anger, taking in the sights around he saw Minori staring at the sky watching the thundering clouds roll in on their camp. Mari strode over as she placed her hand over his, gently peeling his fingers off the blade. She held his hand tightly as her free hand cupped his cheek. They had all been through so much, and in this dark moment he found a brief moment of peace with a friend.

Yuichi's free hand reached up as he pulled Mari in for a kiss, the two sharing a moment of brief reprise. Selfish yes, but something Yuichi needed to save him from becoming what Minori was. War was no place for people his age, nor even Mari. He had understood what Mari said earlier in their formation days. Train for the sake of the next generation, not for yourself. As the two pulled away from each other Mari began to tear up letting some of the emotions she had been bottling up, being strong for everyone around her. It was in this moment of weakness and reprieve that tragedy struck.

The two were struck by a powerful wind ripping apart Yuichi's armor, as Mari was thrown alongside him. As Yuichi's eyes opened the thunderstorm had already rolled in upon them, Mari lay a little ways away as she struggled to breath. Yuichi's face was covered in multiple cuts due to the strong gust of wind. Fuuton? But who in the area had such a strong technique if not... Yuichi rushed to Mari's side as he cupped her head attempting to press the wounds to stop the bleeding, but it was too much. Mari's weak hand reached up as she touched Yuichi's damaged face, once more holding in all her pain to give him one final kind gesture wiping away his tears in the rain. Yuichi sobbed as he held her close before another gust of wind washed over the two, Yuichi bracing himself this time to protect Mari.

Yuichi's head snapped up in a fit of fury as he looked to see who it was that had attacked the camp, only to find Minori standing in the pouring rain as the fizzled campfire smoke clouded the site, their wounded comrades now dead. Minori started shaking as he stuttered, "The noble families.... They offered me money and a way- a way out of this. I just have to kill you." Yuichi with tears welling in his eyes as what was once his friend had now taken everything away from him that Yuichi had just found in all this hell. Yuichi gently laid Mari down as he wrapped his headband around his fist forming an almost knuckle duster weapon, his chakra swelling within. Yuichi prayed to himself, God please, give me the strength to kill Minori. I'll give you everything I have if you just please give me the strength I need. For a brief second it appeared that God had left Yuichi alone, praying for no reason at all. He was alone.

Minori's hand twitched as he reared back swelling up the wind for another attack. Yuichi swallowed deep as he took a fighting stance ready to kill his friend, whether God answered his prayers or not. In a divine way, Yuichi's prayers were not ignored, but granted as he felt his chakra surge within him his wounds healing, his strength rising, and his senses heightened. Minori launched his attack, but Yuichi had dispelled it bull rushing through as he threw a right hook discombobulating his friend, retrieving the kunai from his back pouch launching it deep into Minori's gut. His old friend gasping through the pain. Before Minori could react he was already struck with four more blows from Yuichi's kicks, halting any further assaults Minori had planned. In the next few seconds Yuichi had brutally pummeled Minori on the field his fists bruised, bloody, flayed, and almost weathered to the bone.

Yuichi passed out from the fight, being found in the morning by a Kumo squad that took him in for questioning. Luckily a genin had lived through the incident to give testimony to Yuichi's actions. Unfortunately all was lost at the campsite, including Mari. Yuichi retreated back to a shell of himself, resembling Minori during the war. Unable to speak, unable to deal with the trauma. He realized at the time of giving everything he had to kill Minori, in reality he had sacrificed Mari's chance to live to kill Minori. Ironic, a deal with the devil he thought would save someone, but had in-fact taken away the one he wanted to protect.

Once the Civil War was all done with, Yuichi retired early. Taking a portion of the rebuild funds for those traumatized by the war to go live off on the arctic coast up north. He lived in a small village on a hut in the hill over looking the town. He lived here for the next 4 years, being a humble logger for the town. Honest work, for a man who lost it all.

One fateful day, he heard a knock at his door. To his surprise he hadn't expected the Raikage to come out all this way. He was just a Chuunin during the war. His actions warranted nothing special. Just another run of the mill shinobi. One who was even declared unfit by the psychological evaluators that he was deeply traumatized and needed to stay way from the battlefield. To see the Raikage out here sent his brain racing, he had nothing to give to the Lightning Empire, he traded it all in for a fit of strength to defeat a single person. All his rage, fighting spirit, and will dumped into one fight that he unknowingly killed the person he desired the most.

Hayate spoke to Yuichi, not inviting him back as a shinobi, but to see the new academies and structure of the military. It was not demanding nor expecting anything from Yuichi. Rather a graceful hand to show him how things had changed since Yuichi's own self imposed exile out to the arctic village. Yuichi accepted following Hayate around the country as he toured the new military protocols, procedures, and the new academies built all throughout the country. During this tour Yuichi met a group of medical kunoichi training intensively to then be deployed to all the hospitals out in Lightning. Some of the classrooms and buildings were named after people during the war, some who lost their lives, did valiant acts, and showed selflessness. It was here he saw the name on the class room. Mari Murano. Yuichi could feel tears well-up in his eyes as he broke down in the middle of the hallway. The Raikage in a selfless act rubbing and patting Yuichi on the back in his time of weakness. He felt so useless, spending time away, hiding from his responsibilities as an adult. At 23, hiding in the mountains, abandoning the young people Mari had so desperately wanted to protect.

Maybe it was a ploy to get him to come back as a shinobi due to his unique ability to make vows that he discovered that fateful day. Maybe it was to bring another shinobi into the fold that could provide use to Lightning. However these selfish options were never it. Hayate had just wanted to give Yuichi closure. It took him a while to hear the story, but once heard he had to let Yuichi know that Mari meant something to everyone, and that her memory will live on. Even in Yuichi it did, whether he knew it or not.

From that day forward Yuichi trained heavily, rising to the rank of Jounin, and enrolling in the academy as an instructor. Teaching all manner of classes due to his well rounded nature. Yuichi eventually became the director of several branches of the academy, helping create programs, and training the teachers below them. His new teaching motto founded off principles he learned early on his career, but had not really felt the weight of until he was much older, Train for the sake of the next generation, not yourself.

This cleaver is rather sharp but hides its edge with a dotted thick white cloth making the strikes blunt rather than sharp. This cleaver is approximately 18 inches in blade length, with a width of 5 inches, and a 6 inch handle. This allows him to take a debuff up-front for a specified amount of time before then gaining a buff afterwards due to it. The stronger a restriction he puts on himself the stronger a buff he can receive. He can also impend implied debuffs for example but not limited to cutting an arm off, reducing his chakra pool for the rest of the thread, or even restricting the use of ninjutsu/genjutsu/taijutsu to receive a buff that’s fair in cost to what he’s restricted himself with. A middling student in everything with B grades to match. He was sufficient in all skills, and quite a model average student. He didn't seek glory, to be more than what was expected of him. At the age of 12 he had already committed himself to being a forever Chuunin, serve his time until retirement, and then live off somewhere nice in the country side. He was more than capable of completing his missions and found himself rising to the rank of Chuunin at the ripe age of 19 fulfilling a goal of his on that 12-step plan to retirement. However, the future took a dark turn for Yuichi's future as war was brewing on the horizon.

After freshly being promoted to Chuunin it didn't take long for him to be assigned a team for further training and missions. Yuichi had just been getting into the swing of things with his new Chuunin squad, making friends with younger colleagues much more talented than himself. It was during this time Yuichi discovered himself, more than an average student, but also discovered a new code to live by.

His new friend and teammate, Ota Minori, a 16-year-old ninjutsu specialist that Yuichi considered his best friend at the time was a talented ninjutsu sealer that was capable of moving mountains at a young age, focusing all his efforts on perfecting the ultimate elemental skills with fuuton. While his other teammate, Murano Mari, was a down to earth 18-year-old medical kunoichi that helped keep the boys reasonable and in line when they'd get hyper-active. Minori had really brought Yuichi out of his shell as he helped calm down Yuichi's concerns of not being overly good in anything, and would hype him up about how he was overly good at everything, even those that Minori was terrible at. Meanwhile, Mari kept Yuichi's head in check, by always reminding them of their duty, and their commitment together to be the best they can for those younger than them. He recalled a conversation the trio had that he replays over in his head everyday.

Minori spoke as the trio ate in the field surrounding a campfire. [b][color=peru]"Hey Mari, why did you become a medical kunoichi?"[/color][/b] Mari dug into the pot before them brewing stew as she cocked her head giving Minori an odd look. [b][color=teal]"What do you mean?"[/color][/b] Minori rolled his eyes as he huffed before sitting up on his log clapping his hands together, breathing deep before he spoke. [b][color=peru]"Well I specialized in ninjutsu because I wanted to be the best wind style user in all of Kumo. Yeah, some guys can move mountains. But not everyone can tame the wind. Yuichi is a jack-of-all-trades master of none, making him the utility knife of Kumo. What's the big deal with healing? There's a whole bunch of medical ninja, why did ya wanna join them?"[/color][/b] Mari furrowed her eyebrows as she scoffed at Minori's hubris. [b][color=teal]"I know its not glamorous if that's what you're getting at. Not everyone wants to be noticed like you Minori. Some of us just want to help in a productive way, I train for the sake of the next generation, not for myself."[/color][/b] Mari looked over at Yuichi giving him a soft smile as she spoke, making the older teen blush.

Despite the pleasant memories, the team found themselves over the course of the next few years about to embroiled in a bitter and brutal civil war that would take the lives of many they knew. At first they watched on the horizon as Kumogakure recalled them back to the village for reinforcement as the families fought a bitter war, but not ending it before dragging Kumo into the midst as the Hojo called upon the shinobi's assistance. Kumo abiding as they came to the Hojo's aid fighting their own countrymen. It was here Yuichi first hand saw the horrors of war, what men would do to one another even if the prior month they had been having tea. It was demoralizing, downright dehumanizing in his eyes as he saw samurai and shinobi he had spoken to personally rip each other apart on the battlefield.

After months of fighting Yuichi's team had been worn down. Minori's usual boisterous behavior now made him a hollow shell of what he was. He seemed to be a husk reacting on pure battle instinct when fighting, no longer embellishing his abilities, but now a seasoned soldier only at the age of 16. In-fact they all were, Yuichi almost ready to give his head to the enemy just to escape this new found hell he found. Even in-spite of the exiled Raikage's assistance, Yuichi had seen so much loss on the battlefield his spirit was broken. While Yuichi's body wanted to stop, it was here Mari found her stride working diligently to save as many as she could, working hard to heal the younger generation that was forced to fight on their front door step, saving as many as she could. Where as Yuichi had retreated back into his quiet nature, and Minori stopped speaking almost all together, Mari tried her best to help the two in their pit of darkness.

One dark evening after heavy fighting, Yuichi sat at a fire at their encampment as he polished his weapons wiping blood from them staring at his reflection of what he had become. What he had done. He sighed as he stamped the blade in the ground with anger, taking in the sights around he saw Minori staring at the sky watching the thundering clouds roll in on their camp. Mari strode over as she placed her hand over his, gently peeling his fingers off the blade. She held his hand tightly as her free hand cupped his cheek. They had all been through so much, and in this dark moment he found a brief moment of peace with a friend. 

Yuichi's free hand reached up as he pulled Mari in for a kiss, the two sharing a moment of brief reprise. Selfish yes, but something Yuichi needed to save him from becoming what Minori was. War was no place for people his age, nor even Mari. He had understood what Mari said earlier in their formation days. [i]Train for the sake of the next generation, not for yourself.[/i] As the two pulled away from each other Mari began to tear up letting some of the emotions she had been bottling up, being strong for everyone around her. It was in this moment of weakness and reprieve that tragedy struck.

The two were struck by a powerful wind ripping apart Yuichi's armor, as Mari was thrown alongside him. As Yuichi's eyes opened the thunderstorm had already rolled in upon them, Mari lay a little ways away as she struggled to breath. Yuichi's face was covered in multiple cuts due to the strong gust of wind. Fuuton? But who in the area had such a strong technique if not... Yuichi rushed to Mari's side as he cupped her head attempting to press the wounds to stop the bleeding, but it was too much. Mari's weak hand reached up as she touched Yuichi's damaged face, once more holding in all her pain to give him one final kind gesture wiping away his tears in the rain. Yuichi sobbed as he held her close before another gust of wind washed over the two, Yuichi bracing himself this time to protect Mari.

Yuichi's head snapped up in a fit of fury as he looked to see who it was that had attacked the camp, only to find Minori standing in the pouring rain as the fizzled campfire smoke clouded the site, their wounded comrades now dead. Minori started shaking as he stuttered, [b][color=peru]"The noble families.... They offered me money and a way- a way out of this. I just have to kill you."[/color][/b] Yuichi with tears welling in his eyes as what was once his friend had now taken everything away from him that Yuichi had just found in all this hell. Yuichi gently laid Mari down as he wrapped his headband around his fist forming an almost knuckle duster weapon, his chakra swelling within. Yuichi prayed to himself, [i][color=#0051BA]God please, give me the strength to kill Minori. I'll give you everything I have if you just please give me the strength I need.[/color][/i] For a brief second it appeared that God had left Yuichi alone, praying for no reason at all. He was alone.

Minori's hand twitched as he reared back swelling up the wind for another attack. Yuichi swallowed deep as he took a fighting stance ready to kill his friend, whether God answered his prayers or not. In a divine way, Yuichi's prayers were not ignored, but granted as he felt his chakra surge within him his wounds healing, his strength rising, and his senses heightened. Minori launched his attack, but Yuichi had dispelled it bull rushing through as he threw a right hook discombobulating his friend, retrieving the kunai from his back pouch launching it deep into Minori's gut. His old friend gasping through the pain. Before Minori could react he was already struck with four more blows from Yuichi's kicks, halting any further assaults Minori had planned. In the next few seconds Yuichi had brutally pummeled Minori on the field his fists bruised, bloody, flayed, and almost weathered to the bone.

Yuichi passed out from the fight, being found in the morning by a Kumo squad that took him in for questioning. Luckily a genin had lived through the incident to give testimony to Yuichi's actions. Unfortunately all was lost at the campsite, including Mari. Yuichi retreated back to a shell of himself, resembling Minori during the war. Unable to speak, unable to deal with the trauma. He realized at the time of giving everything he had to kill Minori, in reality he had sacrificed Mari's chance to live to kill Minori. Ironic, a deal with the devil he thought would save someone, but had in-fact taken away the one he wanted to protect.

Once the Civil War was all done with, Yuichi retired early. Taking a portion of the rebuild funds for those traumatized by the war to go live off on the arctic coast up north. He lived in a small village on a hut in the hill over looking the town. He lived here for the next 4 years, being a humble logger for the town. Honest work, for a man who lost it all.

One fateful day, he heard a knock at his door. To his surprise he hadn't expected the Raikage to come out all this way. He was just a Chuunin during the war. His actions warranted nothing special. Just another run of the mill shinobi. One who was even declared unfit by the psychological evaluators that he was deeply traumatized and needed to stay way from the battlefield. To see the Raikage out here sent his brain racing, he had nothing to give to the Lightning Empire, he traded it all in for a fit of strength to defeat a single person. All his rage, fighting spirit, and will dumped into one fight that he unknowingly killed the person he desired the most.

Hayate spoke to Yuichi, not inviting him back as a shinobi, but to see the new academies and structure of the military. It was not demanding nor expecting anything from Yuichi. Rather a graceful hand to show him how things had changed since Yuichi's own self imposed exile out to the arctic village. Yuichi accepted following Hayate around the country as he toured the new military protocols, procedures, and the new academies built all throughout the country. During this tour Yuichi met a group of medical kunoichi training intensively to then be deployed to all the hospitals out in Lightning. Some of the classrooms and buildings were named after people during the war, some who lost their lives, did valiant acts, and showed selflessness. It was here he saw the name on the class room. Mari Murano. Yuichi could feel tears well-up in his eyes as he broke down in the middle of the hallway. The Raikage in a selfless act rubbing and patting Yuichi on the back in his time of weakness. He felt so useless, spending time away, hiding from his responsibilities as an adult. At 23, hiding in the mountains, abandoning the young people Mari had so desperately wanted to protect.

Maybe it was a ploy to get him to come back as a shinobi due to his unique ability to make vows that he discovered that fateful day. Maybe it was to bring another shinobi into the fold that could provide use to Lightning. However these selfish options were never it. Hayate had just wanted to give Yuichi closure. It took him a while to hear the story, but once heard he had to let Yuichi know that Mari meant something to everyone, and that her memory will live on. Even in Yuichi it did, whether he knew it or not.

From that day forward Yuichi trained heavily, rising to the rank of Jounin, and enrolling in the academy as an instructor. Teaching all manner of classes due to his well rounded nature. Yuichi eventually became the director of several branches of the academy, helping create programs, and training the teachers below them. His new teaching motto founded off principles he learned early on his career, but had not really felt the weight of until he was much older, [i]Train for the sake of the next generation, not yourself.[/i][/font][/spoiler]
