Special Pricing

This topic will serve two purposes. While basic equipment can be found generally priced [Here], uniquely built and defined weapons can be a little more difficult to get worked out. In this topic, we'll list two things: weapon parts or concepts, that you can add to weapons or equipment, knowing the general idea of how much it will increase the price, and pre-priced weapons with their descriptions listed with them, so you can put them directly on the app without it having to be priced by the staff.

Example ItemsShow
ItemDescriptionPrice
Gas MaskA basic mask worn on the face, the mask has two canisters that attach to a breathing apparatus. The canisters contain a compound made up primarily of charcoal, allowing it to filter out ambient chemicals in the air aside from oxygen. This protects the wearer against airborne particulates that may effect breathing patterns or have otherwise derogatory effect against the wearer.80 points
RebreatherA basic hand held rebreather, the wearer can place it against their mouth, with a small nozzle they place their lips around. An apparatus covers their nose, and seals against the mouth, filtering out CO2 when the wearer exhales. By inhaling, the rebreather filters water out to purify it into oxygen for breathing. This rebreather is mechanical.75 points
Rebreather: Fuuinjutsu A basic hand held rebreather, the wearer can place it against their mouth, with a small nozzle they place their lips around. An apparatus covers their nose, and seals against the mouth, filtering out CO2 when the wearer exhales. By inhaling, the rebreather filters water out to purify it into oxygen for breathing. This rebreather operates via a pair of fuuinjutsu, one visible externally and one internal on the nozzle.50 points
Binoculars A single eye lens that can be adjusted to zoom in and out, allowing the wearer to see distances at 20/20 view. Comes in iternations of 50m (50m, 100m, 150m, 200m).10 points p/50m

Ability Pricing Rules
Some abilities may require them to be purchased as well as earned with a thread. These are essentially any abilities that allow you to bypass restrictions that current exist. The abilities still need to follow some form of logic, but can be genetically passed on, the result of a spirit being sealed in you, the blessing of a priestess, or a curse by a witch, or as simple as a fuuinjutsu placed on you by someone else. These abilities can grant conceivably anything, but should not just be random concentrations or skills loaded on to them.

Special abilities that bypass certain restrictions or allow certain abilities are priced at certain rates. However these rates can always be adjusted due to moderator discretion if it is felt that there must be an adjustment to the price.
PriceAdditionExample
15 pointsBaseline Concentrations without taking up a concentration slot.(IE Suiton, Fuuton, Katon, Doton, and Raiton)
15 pointsEach addition within an ability slot. Each addition to it gets a +15 points.(IE Suiton + Katon = 15 points. | Suiton + Katon + Raiton = 30 points. | Suiton + Katon + Doton + Raiton = 45 points)
15 pointsBreaking clan restrictions.(IE Aisu gaining katon.)
Some things to note about paid abilities are:
  • No starting off with a paid ability, even if you can afford it.
  • No reductions for the paid ability.
  • You must do a certain rank plot board corresponding with your price range on the ability to explain origins of said ability.
  • You must fit the requirements for the concentrations and things you are purchasing. (I.E. Fitting the 36 Ninjutsu/Control/Inst average for OT and etc)
Plot Board Guide
1-50 pointsC-Rank Plot Board
51-100B-Rank Plot Board
101-200A-Rank Plot Board
201+S-Rank Plot Board

Special Pricing

Special Weapon Pricing
Weapons with any kind of ability that would make it not be sufficiently priced by normal pricings add on to the pricing in a different way. They're priced on a variety of criteria, the first of which deal with the basic structure of the weapon. There are two categories that a weapon is first priced on.

The categories are as follows:
  • Complexity - How complicated and advanced the weapon is in terms of structure and design. This ranges from 1 point for a simple bat or sword to 5 points for something like a collapsable projectile launcher. 1-5 Points
  • Utility - How useful a weapon is in or out of combat, with "useful" defined as giving the user an advantage. A blade would be two points while a bat would be 1, for example, because a sword can do anything a bat can do while also capable of cutting. The maximum would be 5 for a dagger that acts like a Swiss army knife in the amount of utility options it has. 1-5 Points
These weapons must have an appropriately ranked jutsu to describe the ability, regardless of if the ability is done with chakra, engineering, or if the ability is just how strong the weapon is. The ranking of the jutsu is treated like the ranging of regular jutsu, so a weapon with 35 strength requires an S-rank jutsu to describe the ability. These jutsu are NOT actual jutsu the weapon has listed when it is put on the character application but rather a way for staff to see how strong the functions of the weapon are and price the weapon accordingly.

There are some differences between regular jutsu and weapon jutsu:
  • Weapon jutsu can only have one ability/function – While a weapon can do multiple things, each one of those things requires its own jutsu. Meaning a sword that can catch on fire and then send out a wave of fire would require a jutsu for the catching on fire, then another jutsu for sending out the fire.
  • Weapon jutsu indicate chakra usage – Weapon jutsu require a casting time and cost equal to an jutsu of the same rank. E.g, your weapon fires a 35 Str/Spd blast it would cost an S-rank of chakra.
  • S-rank+ Weapon Jutsu have a higher base price compared to usual the price for S-rank+ Jutsu S(35) Jutsu cost the usual 10 points while S(40) Jutsu cost 15, S(45) Jutsu cost 20, and S(50) Jutsu cost 25
  • Weapon jutsu cost three times as much as regular jutsu price – Meaning that S(50) Weapon Jutsu cost 75 points, S(45) Weapon Jutsu cost 60, S(40) Weapon Jutsu cost 45, S(35) Weapon Jutsu cost 30, A-rank Weapon Jutsu cost 21, etc.
Weapons are also priced through the paid ability system.
  • Weapons for characters who do not have the baseline Concentration of an element the weapon utilizes are subjected to [the Paid Ability system costx2]. Example: Sword which utilizes Raiton passive but user does not have Raiton would be [15x2] without pricing the strength of the passive. This does not include the Strength of the equipment, complexity/utility, or mod discretion.
  • Passive pricing for scaling passive follows the [High End of the Passive Scalex3]. Example: Raiton sword has a passive strength of Localized Paralysis. Localized Paralysis is granted with a Ninjutsu requirement of 21-35. 35 Ninjutsu requirement would be used to price, not 21. The added price of the passive would be [10x3] since 35 Ninjutsu is S(35). This does not include the Strength of the equipment, complexity/utility, or mod discretion.
ExamplesShow
  • Raiton Sword with a strength of 35 to break and a passive strength of Localized Paralysis for a shinobi without the Raiton Concentration: [(10 x 3) + (15 x 2) + (10 x 3)] = 90 pts not including Complexity/Utility/Mod Discretion
Projectiles
  • Projectile weapons are bought at a rate of 10 Projectiles per Cost of the Weapon. Example: Raiton Arrows with the strength of the passive being only tingling, acute numbness on a shinobi who possesses Raiton would be bought in bunches of 10 per (3 x 3) = 9 pts not including Utility/Complexity/Mod Discretion.
Finally, the last component to weapon pricing is mod discretion. Mods can add or remove points to a weapons price if it’s particularly strong and the price doesn’t adequately reflect that, or also if the weapon is particularly dangerous for the [Stat Bracket] of the character that’s getting it.

Poisons
Poisons work on a similar pricing scale to special weapons. Rather than having a cost for complexity and utility, poisons have costs for mode of transportation. They, like special weapons, must have an appropriately ranked weapon jutsu to describe the effects of the poison which also cost three times as much as regular jutsu.
Mode of Transportation
  • Coating - Coatings are able to be spread onto items, or directly onto target, and absorbed through the skin to elicit an effect. Coatings can be moderately difficult to apply because they must come in contact directly with skin. Coatings take [1 Post] in order to take effect. - 5 Points
  • Ingestion - Some sort of solid pill in various forms, Ingestion poisons are difficult to use because they must be consumed by the target. They take effect when they break down in the stomach. Ingestion poisons take [3 Posts] in order to take effect. Ingesting another pill decreases the amount of time a poison onsets by 1 post. - 3 Points
  • Gas - Arguably the most dangerous type of poisons, Gaseous or Aerosol poisons take effect through inhalation. By being absorbed through the lungs, they are spread to the blood and rapidly pushed through the body. - 10 Points
Modes of transmissions can be added on top of each other at a cost of double their added cost. For example, a poison which could be applied by Coating and Ingestion would add 16 points to the cost. The last component to poison pricing is mod discretion. Mods can add or remove points to a poison's price based on the amount of the poison being bought.
