AR B) Hunting Missing Ninja

Post by NSRP » Fri Dec 18, 2015 12:50 am

Hunting Bounties The shinobi villages, and some countries, keep track of the more dangerous threats that exist in the land in a Bingo Book. While in many cases these are missing ninja, high ranking shinobi from the villages are often listed in these bingo books as well. While the bingo book can be cautionary, it also acts as a bounty system. Many shinobi carry bounties on their heads, either for the crimes they committed, or their enormous ability that makes them an existential threat to the village’s peace. Villages are willing to pay a high price for the capture, or the heads, or individuals listed in the Bingo Book.

Bounties are controlled by the representatives of the individual villages and the staff. When characters engage in certain activities, their bounty can increase. These individuals can also take measures to lower their bounty. Often this is done simply by covering their tracks, making it harder to link them to the activities they engage in and reducing the appearance of threat to them. As the bounty increases, it becomes more difficult to hide, making a character easier to hunt. On the higher ends of bounties, characters become so prolific that it becomes more possible to attack them with larger numbers. Some shinobi see the Bingo Book as a challenge, and the especially devious or evil go out of their way to commit crimes to raise their bounty, inviting any who want to attempt for their head. If a character in the bingo book is successfully captured or killed, there is always an organization that is willing to pay for it. It is simply up to the user to decide who gets to reap the rewards of the user’s hard work. Below is a table that shows the various requirements to hunt, based on the bounty.

Threat Level
D (10-50 Ryo Bounty) Equal or Lower Rank to Hunt 2 Info Threads No Backup
C (51-100 Ryo Bounty) Equal or Lower Rank to Hunt 1 Info Thread 1 Backup at -2 Rank
B (101-150 Ryo Bounty) Equal or Lower Rank to Hunt 1 Info Thread 1 Backup at -1 Rank
A (151-200 Ryo Bounty) Equal or Lower Rank to Hunt 2 Info Threads 1 Backup at Equal Rank
S (201-250 Ryo Bounty) Equal or +1 Rank Higher to Hunt 1 Info Thread 1 Backup at Equal Rank
SS (251-350 Ryo Bounty) Equal or +2 Rank Higher to Hunt 1 Info Thread 2 Backup: 1 at Equal Rank, 1 at -1 Rank
X (351-450 Ryo Bounty) Equal or +5 Rank Higher to Hunt 0 Info Thread 2 Backup: 2 at Equal Rank
XX (451+ Ryo Bounty) Equal or +5 Rank Higher to Hunt All Threads Open 2 Backup: 2 at Equal Rank. 1 Additional Backup per 1 Target Support.
Villages and the black markets will pay out bounties for shinobi and samurai not in the Bingo Book equal to their 70% of their [Stat Total].

Successfully capturing or killing a bingo book target allows them to be [Claimed] or [Looted]:
  • [Claimed] targets pay out their bounty in Ryo and the hunter may take any special weapons or equipment the target has. Turning in the target’s body removes the hunter’s ability to use it for anything such as enchanting or organ transplantation. The hunter does not earn any of the Ryo on the target if they turn them in for bounty. NPCs with Bounties payout 1/2 their bounty upon turn in.
  • [Captured] targets may be turned in to reward half the targets bounty in ryo and lower the targets bounty by half.
  • [Looted] targets reward ¾ the Ryo they have to the hunter along with 10% of the targets bounty. The remaining 1/4 is lost. The hunter may take any special weapons or equipment the target has and the body may also be used to extract organs for [Organ Transplant] or spirits with [Tenkujutsu].
However, many villages frown upon the hunting of a Bingo Book member and not turning in the body, creating a potential for punishment if a village ninja elects not to turn them in.

Actions done can and will alter your bounty. Depending on the nature of those actions, they may [Add] to it or [Remove] from it.

Base Rules
  • A hunter must perform a number of info threads before they can proceed with the hunt, this is based off of the target's bounty total seen above. The higher the bounty, the less info threads required.
  • Info threads can be waived if the hunted permits the hunter to do so.
  • When invading a thread, those that are indirectly involved in the hunt must state whether they are "death enabled" or not. This clarifies whether the hunter can kill them, and whether they can kill the hunter. Declaring one self not "death enabled" means you cannot participate in the fight.
  • After initiating the fight thread, if the hunter does not post within 2 weeks of the hunted at any time the hunt is called off and the hunted escapes while the hunter must re-initiate the info threads if he seeks to continue his hunt. Same goes for the hunted however they will be mod killed if they do not post. (Exceptions will be given for appropriate reasons.)
  • Henchmen and companions of the hunted are free-game as well to the hunter unless the hunted specifically state they are not present and nor will be.
  • Please note this is a standard layout for all hunting procedures, but if agree'd upon between two parties it can be changed.
  • Support by hunters and targets is determined by the bounty total. Targets should be assumed to be alone (with the exception of companions), unless they are a part of an organization or team. Targets should give hunters a reasonable expectation of who will be present via information threads.
  • If someone takes direct hostile actions against a player, org, or village (Meaning invasion, espionage, sabotage or theft), that target can respond to the threat by initiating a hunt regardless of bounty.
  • Info threads, Counter-info threads, and hunt threads have a 1-week time limit for a response.
  • Please NOTE, Minor Country Characters fall under these rules as well and use the Missing-Nin rules.
  • Village Nin can hunt other Village Nin however this must be approved by a standing Kage of the village or the OOC before it can be done. From there the hunter will follow the rules a Missing Nin does for hunting a Village Nin.

Village-Nin hunting a Missing-Nin
  • After the Village-Nin has completed all of his/her info threads they are given one chance to invade the Missing-Nins next threads, regardless of open, closed, or social status.
  • Alternatively they may also post a fight thread for the hunted to post in within the next two week. (Exceptions may be applied to those with a reasonable excuse).

Missing-Nin hunting a Village-Nin
  • A Missing-Nins info threads should be visiting previous places of a Village-Nins outside the village missions, or gathering info from outside sources.
  • After the Missing-Nin has completed all of his/her info threads they are given one chance to invade the Village-Nins next threads outside of the village, regardless of open, closed, or social status. This is the primary way of a Missing-Nin initiating the fight.
  • Alternatively the Missing-Nin may post a fight thread of which the Village-Nin can respond to, but the Village-Nin is in no way required to respond to this thread.

Missing-Nin hunting another Missing-Nin
  • After the hunting Missing-Nin has completed all of his/her info threads they are given one chance to invade the hunted Missing-Nins next threads regardless of open, closed, or social status.
  • Alternatively the Missing-Nin 1 may post a fight thread for the hunted to post in within the next two week. (Exceptions may be applied to those with a reasonable excuse).
Note: In order to incentivize being an active member of the bingo book and keeping your entry up to date, characters listed are granted at 20% redress of their bounty. This means when your bounty increases, you'll receive 20% of the increase in ryo. Please request this from staff when necessary.
