Organizations

Groups formed by members
Organizations are entities created by and consisting of player characters with a shared objective or purpose. Typical examples of organisations include, but are not limited to, groups like Konohagakure's ANBU, or Kirigakure's Seven Swordsmen. However, organizations allow the creation of almost any type of group aimed at any goal, such as R&D divisions, assassination squads, mercenary groups, large defensive or offensive taskforces, exploration and survival groups, criminal or missing-ninja groups, or even bands of people seeking to build their own hidden village. Through this system, organizations provide a common set of objectives for a character, as well as partnership with like-minded comrades and beneficial rewards for both the group and individuals.

This rule page largely offers forward a framework for you to use for your organization, and gives organizations based on how that framework is used as filled. The rank of an organization offers a general idea of the strength of the organization (and provides some bragging rights). Additionally, the higher rank an organization is, the more bonuses it gains for its members.
Resources Organizations are expensive, and thus members of an organization are often expected to funnel Ryo into the organization to support it. The only way for an organization to grow larger is for characters to give their Ryo to the organization, which in exchange can be used by the organization for certain things. Organization rank is based off of the total amount of Ryo that its members have given to it. This means that even if the organization spends that Ryo, its rank is maintained. Larger organizations have access to more resources, more support, and more power. When a character wants to give Ryo to an organization, they simply post a mod for it. The organisation page should include a record of ryo donations (inclusive of any Fundraider perk bonus) per member character to track access to jutsu and equipment as discussed below.

Below is a table that shows the amount of Ryo that must go to an organization for it to be considered each rank.
RankRyo TotalRankRyo Total
E-rank0D-rank25
C-rank75B-rank150
A-rank300S-rank500
X-rank 1000 XX-rank 2000
Organizations have two major benefits. The first is that it sets up a centralized coffer for its members. Organization members can give Ryo to their organization, and other members (with the Org leaders permission) can pull from those coffers to spend as they please. This means if an organization member needs to bribe someone, they can bribe that person out of the organization's coffers, rather than spending their own Ryo.

The second is that organizations have access to a variety of resources that can empower the members, and are often not otherwise accessible. Below is a list of things organizations can purchase with Ryo. It should be noted that organizations can earn some of these things through roleplay (such as a hideout) and thus would not need to pay for them. For example if the organization simply meets in a cave in the middle of the desert, they would not need to pay for a hideout. But if they want a large building in the middle of a city, they almost certainly would.

Organization members who take part in threads together earn 1/3 of the final combined Ryo payout for the organisation (affected by Fundraiser, but not Accountant) directly into the organizations coffer. If multiple organizations are involved in the same thread, all can receive the extra reward. This extra reward is only given out if the organization was affected in some way, at moderation discretion. For example, if two members of Org A and three members of Org B all do a topic together and each character gets 10 ryo from the grading, Org A would earn (20/3 = 7ryo) and org B would earn (30/3 = 10ryo).

Village Kages (or other Representatives) can add Ryo to the Village Organizations at the end of every Quarter (Jan-March, April-June, July-September, October-December) based on a 1/5th rate of the payout of relevant gradings.

Jutsu can be purchased when the rank of the organization reaches the rank of the jutsu. Organization members may add these jutsu to their applications for free, as long as they have contributed 1/2 the amount of Ryo to the organization. This Ryo must come from donations, not from bonuses earned in threads.

Organizations can also purchase weapons and equipment that they can give to members. To access these weapons, the member must have contributed 1/2th the value of the weapon to the organization. The rank of the organization determines how much Ryo they can spend on equipmentsto provide to their members.

Characters who are members of an organization will have two rank-dependent counters (village rank for Village Ninja, power rank for Missing Ninja) for how many ryo worth of organization jutsu and equipment they can take scaling on character rank.

NPCs
  • Organizations are only allowed to have 3 NPC Bannin at all times, as they are considered Essential NPCs.
  • Villages, at default, have access to a Crafting, Enchanting, and Organ Transplant NPC. Other organizations must purchase them.
  • Mercenary NPCs must have a visible counter on the organization page showing the amount of ryo invested into them, because--
  • Mercenary NPCs are NPCs that any org member who has contributed half the cost of the NPC to the organizations coffer can bring with them into topics.
  • The "crafting" NPCs that have unique concentrations are controlled by the staff not the organization but allow the organization to access crafting skills they may not otherwise have access to. Organization members still have to pay prices, determined by staff, to the NPCs which does not get added to the organization coffer.
  • The cost of purchasing jutsu and stats is different for mercenary NPCs within an organization. Please see here for details.

Outposts and Secondary Bases Obtaining Outposts and Secondary Bases allows the organizations to establish areas and countries where they can participate in specific activities without it contributing to their bounties. This is especially helpful in the cases where the organization may be participating in particularly high crimes or behaviors. A headquarters allows the entire country to be considered a safe zone for members of that organization, while a outpost makes only the physical location of the outpost a safe space.

Defenses

When an organization becomes large enough, having defenses in place to protect it's headquarters and outposts are important. Thus, when an organization buys headquarters and outposts it also gains defenses. This means at most, any organization may only have [5] Defenses. Defenses are split into two categories: Supportive and Offensive. Supportive Defenses should be considered things like Sensory Barriers, a line that activates a genjutsu that causes people to turn around, or anything that is meant to provide the organization some relief from intrudes. Where-as an Offensive Defense is some quality that causes harm to others, such as a swamp releasing a poisonous gas, or an chakra EMP burst that disables chakra.

Defenses tend to have high requirements as far as maintaining and managing, meaning they cannot be too powerful. While something like a barrier that surrounds a headquarters telling you who has entered and exited may be possible, keeping track of every chakra signature within the headquarters would not be. Defenses are thus described as X-rank jutsu, and listed in the headquarters defensive section on the app. An organization may only place [2] defenses at a Headquarters, and only [1] at an Outpost. A headquarters can carry [2] Supportive Defenses, or [1] Offensive. An outpost can have only [Supportive]

Once an organization has founded a village, they may have the village carry [2] Offensive if they so choose.
Bribes As organizations have a central coffer, they are able to bribe country officials, or otherwise use money to obtain certain ends. Members of an organization - with the org leaders permission - can tap into these coffers to pay for things on behalf of the organization. Most notably, this includes bounty bribes. The organization may spend Ryo to reduce any one of its member’s bounties by the same amount. For example if a member has a bounty of 200, the org could spend 75 points to reduce it to 125. This can only be used per member meaning reducing 2 members bounty by 75 would cost 150 ryo.
Personal Rewards

Rewards earned by contributing to the organization
Another portion of organizations and how they function is that they also give out personal rewards to those who contribute. However Organization leaders do not gain these rewards. These personal rewards range from use of the Organization Weapons, Organization jutsus, and Organization NPCs. Not only do these rewards cover utilization of the organization’s resources, but lets you contribute to yourself with words off trainings, free jutsus, and etc.
Notes
  • These rewards are available once, per the character in the org.
  • The rewards run off of how many topics are completed.
  • These rewards cannot be transferred to others or another character.
  • These rewards do not stack with each other.
  • The villages do not award these rewards only the individual orgs within them.

Becoming a Village The ultimate desire for some organizations are to become Villages of their own. An organization can become a village after unlocking and complete threads in which they must build the infrastructure of the village, recruit people and clans into the village, and take the necessary steps to assert dominance in the region, create a hospitable area for a community, or forge alliances with governments in the region. After completing these threads, the organization will have become a village and will be granted their own forum, ability for members to register within it, and a subforum within the Archives for approved characters. For a village to allow for shinobi, they must complete series of threads in which they build and secure academies for their population to learn the ninja arts.

Establishing a village in a country and seizing control of said country requires having a number of HQs and Outposts that add up to the country's rank.
HQ = +2, Outpost = +1

Each HQ and Outpost represents a type of defense, Supplementary (-1) or Offensive (-2). You must have a HQ to get an Offensive defense.

As you take over the country, the amount of HQs and Outposts you have represents your general pull with the populace (1 HQ in a Rank 4 country means 50% of the populace follows/supports you, or 2 Outposts in a rank 3 country means 2/3rds of the countries populace follows/supports you.).

In order to increase the rank of a country, an org must have HQs + Outposts = the desired rank, and they are purchased at the rate of the increased rank. (i.e; raising a country from 3 to 4 means buying an outpost at 20 x 4, or raising one from 2 to 4 might mean buying an HQ at 50x4).

Villages can conquer countries through the use of an existing organization and can purchase HQs and Outposts in the new country at 1/2 rate.
Headquarters and Outposts
Primary Headquarter50 Ryo per Country Rank (i.e; Rank 4 Country costs 200 Ryo)
Secondary Headquarters100 Ryo per Country Rank (i.e; Rank 4 Country costs 400 Ryo)
Outposts20 Ryo per Country Rank (i.e; Rank 3 Coutnry costs 60 Ryo)
In short, to unlock the ability for an organization to become a village, the organization must have:
  • S-rank Status (500 Ryo in coffers)
  • At least 2 Mercenary NPCs, and 2 of the Crafting NPCs
  • A combination of HQ and outposts that add up to the country's rank (A rank 3 country would require 1 HQ(+2) and 1 Outpost(+1) to be considered for village status.
Once an organization becomes a village and builds academies, members may then create shinobi from ranks D-A along with shinobi clans, houses, and families within these villages. Otherwise characters, clans, houses, and families registered to these Villages follow the rules for Minor Country persons. Member-created Villages may also devise plots to capture and seal Grand level Spirits which can then be given to the members of the village. These are not village-locked meaning if the village captures a Grand Level spirit and gives it to a member then staff won't step in to give it to someone else if the host goes inactive or dies.

Village Creation Rewards:
  • OOC archives subforum for apps
  • Own country forum/village subforum in the RP section
  • Ability for members to create characters from the village according to MC rules
  • Ability for members to create non-shinobi clans, houses, families
  • The ability to keep any village-lockable assets that are properly obtained (i.e. stolen) IC (excluding genma and chakra-reliant equipment until chakra is understood in the new village)
Unlockable perks through further Topics:
  • Create characters, clans, houses, and families according to VN rules
  • Ability to create/discover a village-locked extension style and/or super release equivalent

Shinobi Teams Shinobi teams range from either Genin teams or fully developed Jounin and Chuunin squads. These are people who consistently go on missions together, train together, and work together developing a tight bond that results in great results. Sometimes they have a specific purpose such as an assassination squad, a recon squad, or a reactionary squad. They each have their own unique purpose for an objective, and work together to achieve such. Through this system these teams will be rewarded for their perseverance, by allowing them to grow faster than those attempting to solo their way through. As working in close proximity the teams learn about each other and themselves faster by working together to improve their skills.
Below covers how teams are formed and what rewards they can earn.
  • Requires a consistent list of two or more shinobi. No more than eight.
  • Must be registered via Registration and will be placed into the archives.
  • When joining a team, you do not automatically gain the rewards. The rewards are separate for each member of the team. As an example of this, you have two characters who have earned up to the 4 topic(s) completed reward, and a third member joins in. He does not outright earn the 4 topics(s) completed reward, he must complete 4 topics(s) before earning it.
  • Teams can be created in Organizations. Teams from Organizations function as if they wound solo.
  • Teams can create Organizations. Teams forming into Organizations may transfer all their topics progress logged as rewards for their new Organization in order to gain those Ryo as resources.
  • All rewards are earned on the next subsequent topics after earning them.
Below covers the reward tables. The requisite threads, and the rewards derived from that. To earn that reward all members in the team must participate and complete a topic together.
Rewards Table
2 Topics CompletedAll topics that include 2+ team members: +1 Ryo bonus upon completion for team members
4 Topics CompletedAll topics that include 2+ team members: +2 Ryo bonus upon completion for team members
6 Topics CompletedAll topics that include 2+ team members: +3 Ryo bonus upon completion for team members
8 Topics CompletedAll topics that include 2+ team members: +4 Ryo bonus upon completion for team members
10 Topics CompletedAll topics that include 2+ team members: +5 Ryo bonus upon completion for team members
  • The additional Ryo are added before the reward multiplier is applied
  • The additional Ryo also count towards resources gained.
  • The additional Ryo cap at 12, meaning if you have a +4, and are graded a 9, you would still only get 12 Ryo prior to the multiplier being applied. The additional Ryo would be added after the multiplier. Meaning in the same example, you would get 25 Ryo ([12x2] +1)
