Hey Saigents and Saigals. You'll be pleased to find out that this announcement isn't pertaining to fundoshi v. tactical bio-tech stealth suits. As you know, Saigen is about to enter a new age, and like me, I'm sure you're all absolutely filled with anticipation for the impending flip and revamps.

Well, I'm here to tell you you can get a taste of the new saigen, today. In addition to changes on our rules and the role play itself, we've been working on updating our technical infrastructure. Kicking this off is a new theme and a new, highly anticipated feature.

First, we're introducing the new theme, "Saigen!". It comes in two flavours, [Light] & [Dark] You can find it at your local theme switcher at the bottom of the forum.



Next is our new Character Colors feature. Utterly exciting.

By editing your profile here, you can use a color picker or manually insert hex codes that you frequent for your characters. Note: This should ONLY be a hexcode. So a # followed by 6 letters or digits. I.E. #fe0fe0



While posting a new thread or making a post, you can access your saved colors from a "Character Colors" drop down.



You'll hear more back from me on things like this in the near future, but in the meantime, if you find any bugs or issues with these modifications please go ahead and click the link in my signature (Contact IT) to shoot me a PM.

Seriously though, for the people like me who despise the crappy rainbow-square color finder, I found a neat little site that lists the hex codes for a bunch of colors and their names. (For people who use [*color=orangered] or whatever color you use. #FF4500 is the hex for orangered, btw.)

And not that anyone would ever do this, but if you see someone using a color you really like... their member profile has the colors listed there.

Any way to name the colors? Not really necessary obviously, but yanno.

Unfortunately I'd have to do a lot of silly nonsense in order to support that, on account of Zetaboards technical limitations. On the flip side, while it'd be a little silly to add more fields for naming, how would you feel with instead the color showed... what color it was in the dropdown?

Kat let me know that -making a mental note the emote panel in the dark theme is still white- the old color drop down used to do that, and I'm going to re-enable it anyways, so it's something I can throw on character colors.
