Saigen Update 5.0.3 - Bug Fix I deleted the old announcement for reasons I felt it wasn't well thought out or placed, or ideas were solidified. And I wasn't pleased with the way it was executed, or how I ran it. So I'm going to redo it, this time if theres any edits done. Its because of spelling errors or grammatical.

So basically just to summarize the topics, this focuses on Minor Country Samurai, Companion Clarification, Suiton Clarification, and to answer the Pyramids suggestion.

Minor Country Samurai
Minor Country characters can now start out at C-rank as well as D-rank. However they're still limited as they normally were at 1 in Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Control. This rule not only applies to RPCs but also henches.

Companions
Companions are ridable, and the speed of which follows the companions stat. However this comes with a debuff. To better explain this idea, if the companions speed stat is 35, and the user's speed stat is 26. This applies a debuff of -9 to the individual riding against their highest X-Jutsu stat (Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, or Taijutsu). Meaning you're not gonna be as proficient in your most useful skill while riding.

Swarms are not covered by this. Since swarms are essentially kinesis like, chakra free, and can preform advanced maneuvers they do not receive this luxury of carrying their own. They're still limited to the user's speed or sync. Whichever stat is the lowest.

Companion stats default max out at 45, with one stat being able to be at 50. In-case you were unaware.

Suiton
Suiton has been muddled a bit, I admit, even myself was confused at first. But how it works is that Suiton does persist, so if you make a lake or ocean using suiton. Its not going to just disappear. It will exist, but it does not retain any strength, speed, or envelopment passive. It is now just this existing body of water.

Pyramids
In response to the pyramids suggestion. We've reviewed it, and discussed. And we believe pyramids are better, and they're not restrictive in the slightest. They promote cohesive jutsu building, and lower jutsus still have a lot of value applicable end-game. So we do appreciate the input, and willingness to bring ideas to the forefront. Unfortunately we don't agree, and will keep pyramids as they are. Every jutsu rank B-S which after 5 jutsus of D&C each, those are respectively very valuable in end-game fights as well as high-ranking fights. There is no need to change the current system, and is much less restrictive than that of the old system. Nor do we believe raising the prices and requirements of pyramids would solve this. So we very much have to disagree and say no to the idea.

Really, really disagree with the 45 on companions.

That makes them imba and on par with end-game PC characters which was never, ever the intention of a companion, despite people's incessant whinning and bitching that their companions can't be as strong as an end-game toon.

I have to disagree with you there Jesse. While I understand where you are coming from, and it makes a lot of sense, I think keeping their stats so low are a hindrance to people that want that type of play style. Primarily people who make inuzuka, or other pet users. I'm not saying that companions should be as strong as a PC, but they should at least be competitive.

i mean, companions are still capped out at a total of 250 stats iirc so that mitigates it a bit.

really any remotely decent genjutsu user will shut down any companion in their tracks.

Right, what Sia said. It just makes companions going that far in stats even more stat stretched than RPCs anyway with the lower stat count, so it's even more one tick pony specialist vs mediocre jack of all trades with companions.

yeah but theres also the potential to have craptons of companions to really circumvent the fact that theyre so spread out

a single use of the companion mastery ability allows you to not give a crap about basically everything, to be honest.

Not understanding the distinction between Swarms and Pets. Pets are chakra free and can do advanced maneuvers too.

Besides, if your swarm is summoned, and not natural, you have to pay chakra to maintain it.

Agreed with wright, i mean, it should follow the same principle, but you could just make the drawback greater since users are having to focus to control it themselves. Making it -2x the gab or something would be better, no?

Well considering swarms potentially are 50^3m bodies, with the literal speed and strength of 50. We decided it was best to leave them out of the new ruling on companions considering the capabilities of them were far greater of a normal companion. Not to mention based on the individual stat of a user, that if spec'd into would cause their speed to be gimped anyways at a max of 39. If the swarm can carry them at the sync stat, whats the point in gimping their speed. However I will say even if we allowed it, I'm not quite sure how to debuff them since there's not really an X-Jutsu stat that we can gimp since their focus is on the swarm itself.

Though, I'll discuss it with the others, and we'll see what they think. And what their input is as well on the topic of opening this up to swarms.

Uh, just as a note, swarms function in feet not meters. At least according to the swarms rule page.
