In an effort to spur more activity, reward our members, and just in general have fun, the staff has gotten together and decided we're going to try and start up doing regular events again. The poll is several options provided by staff, but if you have a better idea for an event you think may go over well, feel free to let us know.

Just because your chosen event doesn't get first place doesn't mean it wont be done. This is to gauge interest and see what people want to do first, second, etc.

>Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon and Hearthstone but no Magic: The Gathering OOC event
*Deep Inhale...*Show
... Expect an actual reply/vote from me once I have a second, closer look at the actual options lol.

EDIT: OK, so I'm actually sad that I could only pick one, 'cause there were at least 3 of them that I liked the sound of a whole lot! If it means anything, I'm personally down for all the IC stuff. The more IC interaction, the better.

That said, I'm ALSO down for site-wide OOC tournaments like Yu-Gi-Oh! (*hisses with the rage of a spurned ex-lover who got burned one too many times*), Pokemon and the like.... but seriously, no MTG? I know of at least 3 other people on here who play besides me, and I suspect that there's more than that. But I digress, mayhaps we could do even more things of this nature? Like, maybe, a Street Fighter tournament or something? Just a thought.

But I have a question: Why is the Battle Tournament listed as OOC? Why not IC? Could be an IC event if we really wanted it to be. Again, just a thought

Nobody brought up MTG, but if there's enough support for the idea, it doesn't mean it can't be done.

OOC tourneys generally have more support because you can really let loose and do whatever you want, versus an IC tournament which would require people to either hold back or risk the wrath of an entire country falling on them, or starting a war.

I mean, that's fair and all, but like... if there's a battle royale tournament IC in which all shinobi are welcome to come, wouldn't that imply that it's in a neutral country of some kind and all parties involve sign consent forms of w/e that make it so that what happens at the tournament stays at the tournament?

Like I get it, it's a logistical nightmare and all that, and I still voted for the battle tournament because fuck yeah actual fights between characters, but I'm in the camp that IC holds a bit more weight than OOC.

Anywho, I've said my 2 (more like a nickle at this point...) cents and given my vote, so my contribution is done!

If battle tournament wins, can we be told who voted for it so we know who to laugh it when the event fails?

Real talk, can we get three votes though? Poke Tourney, Social Festival, and Ninja Soccer all sound fun

IIRC MtG requires you to buy cards, right?

Nope. There are ways of playing MTG online for freesie that are actually legit. Absolutely an option for people who want to do that.

I would do MtG, though typically more difficult to do the bad things buuut I think there's a couple that's like YGOPRO.
Though the next problem is I think more of us just know at least how Yugioh works compared to MtG and it basically gives you your deck anyway unlike MtG.

Yeah I'm not sure why we were only allowed 1 option :(

Mtg is Magic the Gathering.

While I also agree more than one option would have been nice, it's not that big of a deal, just list your preferences in a post. For example, I voted for a sitewide Chuunin Exam. I would also like to see a social/training festival, and Ninja Soccer, although I think that would probably take a lot of coordination to pull off.

It's really as simple as : "Hey, wanna train for this event?"

"Okay sure. Lets thread."

What other coordination does there need to be? As far as the Chunin exams just pull from a list of current and active Genin and run a tournament.

I believe he meant both the Chuunin exam and Ninja Soccer, very few events are as simple as just throwing some people together and telling them to get on with it.

Edit: Any half decent event that is.

Hey man, if you want to overcomplicate things then I'm not gonna be that guy that says "no" but hosting events isn't really that hard. On the other hand, the difficult thing would be each player finding the time in their daily lives to post consistently. That's a variable that can't be controlled.

Thanks for your input from your valuable experience with all the events you've run on Saigen.

Pokémon tourney would be on something like Pokémon Online? Voted for it anyway; I'd prefer Hearthstone but I'm adult enough now to know better than to waste a vote </3
