Passives for some elements has been updated. Instead of being based on the ninjustu stat required to perform the techniques, passives will be applied based on the strength of the technique. In additions, fusions no longer have the full passive effects of the parent elements. Kuuton has also been changed from having a "pressuring" effect to a "gravitational" effect. The following elements have been affected:
Ash:Ash
- 1-14 Strength: 1st Degree Burns
- 15-24 Strength: 2nd Degree Burns over 2 posts
- 25-34 Strength: 3rd Degree Burns over 3 posts
- 35+ Strength: 4th Degree Burns over 4 posts.
Katon:Katon
- 1-14 Strength: 1st Degree Burns
- 15-24 Strength: 2nd Degree Burns
- 25-34 Strength: 3rd Degree Burns
- 35+ Strength: 4th Degree Burns
Raiton:Raiton
- 1-14 Strength: Tingling, acute numbness
- 15-24 Strength: Loss of Sensation
- 25-34 Strength: Localized Paralysis
- 35+ Strength: Diffuse Paralysis
Sand:Sand
- 1-14 Strength: Minor scrapes and cuts, minor bleeding.
- 15-24 Strength: Scrapes, removal of skin, moderate bleeding.
- 25-34 Strength: Removal of upper muscle, heavy bleeding
- 35+ Strength: Grinding of flesh, removal of deep tissue, profuse bleeding.
Salt:Salt
- 1-14 Strength: -1 stamina for the remainder of the thread.
- 15-24 Strength: -2 stamina for the remainder of the thread
- 25-34 Strength: -3 stamina for the remainder of the thread
- 35+ Strength: -5 Stamina for the remainder of the thread
Chalk:Chalk binds with a strength on contact, dissipating into a cloud X3 meters large, X being the jutsu's strength 1/3. This cloud binds with a strength of Y, Y being the jutsu's strength 2/3th of its original strength rounded down.
Yugeton:Yugeton
- 1-14 Strength: Uncomfortable Heat
- 15-24 Strength: First Degree Burns
- 25-34 Strength: Second Degree Burns
- 35+ Strength: Third Degree Burns
Hiton:Hiton
- 1-14 Strength: Uncomfortable Heat/Spotting in Vision
- 15-24 Strength: 1st Degree Burns/Momentary Blindness with Residual Blurriness, Spotting, lack of Focus
- 25-34 Strength: 2nd Degree Burns/Temporary Blindness 1 - 3 posts
- 35+ Strength: 3rd Degree Burns/Blindness 4+ posts
Ranton:Ranton
- 1-14 Strength: Hair stands up.
- 15-24 Strength: Tingling, acute numbness
- 25-34 Strength: Loss of Sensation
- 35+ Strength: Localized Paralysis
Youton:Youton follow similar burn strengths of Katon, but due to the fact Youton carries two main passives theirs is a diluted version. Youton have been known to dull weapons, or even melt weapons at high levels, and flow through defensive jutsu.
The burn strengths of Youton follow below.
- 1-14 Strength: Uncomfortable Heat
- 15-24 Strength: 1st Degree Burns
- 25-34 Strength: 2nd Degree Burns
- 35+ Strength: 3rd Degree Burns
Kuuton:Kuuton Affinity
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Kuuton, and advanced form of Fuuton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Kuuton affinity. Kuuton has an
gravitational effect. Those without the Elemental Specialization cannot make custom Kuuton jutsu.

A character with this concentration is able to utilize Kuuton, and advanced form of Fuuton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Kuuton affinity. Kuuton has an gravitational effect. These gravitational pockets can reach through barriers, walls, and function like a real source of gravity. Those without the Elemental Specialization cannot make custom Kuuton jutsu.
Kuuton users chakra to create pockets of gravity in a specific direction. Through the use of these technique Kuuton users can launch objects away from them, pull things in to a specific place, or crush things down into the ground. Kuuton jutsu operate off a focal point, and always move towards or away from that focal point. This means that all Kuuton jutsu cover some sort of area, and only effect what is within that area. They can not be used on a micro scale.

Does calling it gravity change it at all? Is it still going to work in the same way?
Well I guess going through barriers and stuff is different.
Is this gonna fuck up my suna?
What does kuuton look like now then?
The archives still mention pressure in some places.
Also shouldn't we change it from being the vector release to the gravity release?

Is it supposed to say Strength? Shouldn't it say Ninjutsu?

Oh...this seems like a bad idea.
The passives being based off the ninjutsu stat was a bonus for ninjutsu users, a way to encourage emphasis on the ninjutsu stat within these styles. For example, with Katon, you could make a B-rank Katon technique that was fast or strong, but the passive would only be at the rate of 2nd degree burns if the user isn't capable of higher. By basing it off strength, relatively low-ninjutsu users can still attain the higher degree of damage by focusing on strength. (Making a jutsu 30 Str/15 Spd or whatever).
Most of the things on the forum appear to trend towards characters focusing on specific types of builds, rather than broad "God complex" builds (ala Madara). This changes seems to be directly in opposition to that trend imo.
Edit: As an afterthought, actually, I don't think this applies universally. Perhaps only to Katon/Raiton/Yugeton/Hiton and Sand.

With the addition of affinity discounts, you noted the prevalence and power of ninjutsu specialists. This, as you noted, opens up the abilities of generalists and non ninjutsu specialists. Isn't that a good thing?

Big fan of the passive scaling more accurately matching when jutsu ranks change. Not 100% on the whole strength thing but I do figure that it's at the very least worth trying out. Regarding Onu's point, a 30 strength/15 speed jutsu is already going to hit way beyond its weight class in the old system... assuming you can hit with it in the first place, which I feel is a good enough balancing factor seeing as many people (Especially non-tai specs) prioritize speed over strength, etc. in order to avoid the hard hitting things.
Besides if it doesn't work out it’s not like it can't be changed again

Nope - that's a core part of this change:
