Game I'm making.

So, I recently downloaded RPG Maker VX, and I have a pretty good game idea, imo.

The game will start out in a small town, with you as an average guy. You eventually begin to notice several suspicious things, like that you have no knowledge prior to your coming to the town, no knowledge of anything outside of the town, and basically no memories that aren't recent. After this you decide to leave, and find that there's physically no exit. A series of events unfold, and you find out that you've been placed in some illusion, and that the life you've been living is not your real life. You find a way out of an illusion, and wake up in a prison, with very little memories of your normal life.

The prison has very little security since all of the inmates are placed under an illusion, and you escape fairly easily. The real world is under oppression from a group of individuals that use magic and a pseudo religion to control the people, and the main character was the leader of a small group trying to overthrow this government.

I know this sort of sounds like a fantasy version of The Matrix, but that's really not how I intended it. Right now the game is going to be titled Ragnarok: Illusions of Enlightenment. The game is also going to have pretty heavy Norse undertones in things like the title of the game, character names, etc. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I'm more than glad to hear them.

I started this project maybe a few days ago, and only have a rough outline of how it's going to go. That's why I'm asking for suggestions.

You could have like a magic dude on the enemies side that don't really like what they're doing and so decides to join the main chars conquest.

Well, basically all of the playable characters are like that. Magic is a very limited thing in this world, and is usually only passed on to children by those with magic. So most likely these people are going to be the sons, grandsons, and siblings of the people running the pseudo religion.

The apprentice is what makes the older sister join in the first place.

I also have RPG Maker VX! lol I haven't ironed out any future games or anything as I've only had it for a short time, but I've made a few linking maps and events to move a very short story along.

If you would like a hand with Event Switches, Coding, Dialogue, that sort of thing. I would be happy to help =]
