Asuma watched as Zao created a portal like last time. He could see desert on the other side and was somewhat relieved. 'Finally out of this cold hell hole' he thought as he followed Zao with determination in his eyes. He kept in the back of his mind what Zao had said... what exactly were they going to face in the desert? What exactly were they going to encounter? All these questions spiraled in his mind as he took one step into a portal and within seconds was in a completely different area. For all Asuma knew he went from one side of the map, to another!

Upon entering the sand, he had a quick satisfaction of going from cold to warm. At this point in his life his body was more accustomed to the glaring heat that the desert provided during the day. He watched as Zao was close to him. With them being so close, Asuma never really asked him what they were going to do. Within a moment of walking through the portal, he looked up at Zao. "What exactly did you mean back there?" He said this wondering what on earth they were going to do. Why was using his new capabilities so important for this? The area itself was as simple as it could be. All desert, nothing really around. Yes they were of similar land to Sunagakure, but Asuma didn't see the village nor did he see anything resembling the areas around it. They were in the middle of the desert within the Wind Country and overall Asuma was a tad bit confused on what would happen next.

The warmth of the desert was definitely a welcoming feeling, almost like the feeling one got when they came home after a long journey the duo had once more arrived within the land of their grand village: Wind Country. A gentle smile could be found on the thin face of the young man as he glanced from side to side, ensuring that he knew exactly where they were within the vast ocean of sand that covered a good portion of the countryside. Suddenly there was a wiggle from beneath the man's robes as he removed the outer cloak that had been put on within the cold expanse they had previous been located and out from one of the sleeves shot a golden vine that appeared to be thin in width but if stretched out would be a handful of meters in length. It was the plant spirit Toge, the spirit was almost like a dog at this point as it rejoiced soundlessly within the hot sand rolling around being extremely grateful for being back within the warm sun of Wind country.

As the man felt his feet sink slightly into the warm sand he turned his bright blue gaze over to Asuma, hearing him asking a question to the words that he'd spoken before tearing a hole through space back to this place. "A true test of how well you can use your skills can only come on the battlefield. Doing something in a spar or simple training is good and all but until you have experience the pressure and fear from actual combat, it's all a bit meaningless." The man's gaze turned a bit serious, though he hadn't returned back to the rank of jounin just yet, the former jounin had plenty experience on dangerous missions during his short time as an elite of the village shinobi force. Everything was different when the person or creature on the other end was actually trying to take your life. There was a quiet sigh that managed to slip through his lips and he forced a smile seeing his pet messing around in the sand, appearing rather playful which hid just how powerful he was.

"Asuma, I'm not familiar with how well traveled you are outside the village, but this place is actually where one of the country's trade routes run. We've come here to deal with a specific kind of spirit disturbance that has been affect some traders using this route." A thread of chakra appeared from the man's left hand as it swept by one of the pouches and removed a kunai with a larger than normal explosive tag attached to it. Then the man moved his hand across his chest using the movement of the hand and finger to throw the kunai nearly fifty meters away from there current position as the man used the Chakra Kai technique to set of the explosive note. A B-ranked size explosion rocked the empty desert throwing sand and smoke into the air as the pressure wave could be felt by the two shinobi despite the difference. "There should be coming now, it would be best if you prepare yourself for a real fight."

The explosion would alert the spirits whom were in the nearby area and would cause for them to come an investigate, Zao had already gathered some information through other sources that stated the spirits within this area were around the C ranking, with a few pushing close to the B ranking on the spirit strength scale. This meant that they could provide a challenge to the young man without being to powerful and if anything stronger showed up then little Toge had been tasked to take care of them before they could reach the boy. A few hundred meters straight out from the two shinobi and on the other side of where the explosion had occurred two dorsal fins emerged from the sand, sand fish were approaching at a good rate of speed only allowing for there fins to be visible at the moment. This was like killing two birds with one stone for himself, as the spirit enthusiast needed the sand spirits' chakra to empower his own sand plant spirit and it would serve as a good training ground for Asuma to practice using his spirit's power to fight others.

Asuma was in complete shock to see the thorn creature leave Zao's body and land in the sand. He was even more confused that it was rolling around as if it had the mind of a dog or a pet. 'Was that thing inside of him? What on earth could that thing be?' were just some of the many questions cycling through Asuma's head. However, he quickly snapped out of it when Zao began speaking to him and informing him of what would be happening next. Asuma was intrigued that their location was a trading route, but was even more perplexed by the fact that it was being terrorized by spirits.

The kunai with the explosive tag flew in the air as Asuma watched it. The explosion was rather large and caused Asuma to flinch slightly. This caused him to look up at Zao as Zao informed him that was time to prepare himself. Without hesitation, Asuma performed his technique to change his body into Form 1 like he had been practicing. With his latest training and guidance from Zao and Janesisu, Asuma was able to transform at a very quick pace. The white chakra flowed and he could feel the power coursing through him. With one motion Asuma moved his left hand to take out his sword and his right hand to take out a kunai. He made sure to hold his blade in his left and kunai with his right. He wanted to be able to attack from long range and defend/dodge if they got too close. With the training he had endured before meeting Zao, Asuma got into his classic Toryu position. He had one foot forward and a loose stance for countering.

From the positioning alone, Asuma realized that his only true course of action would have to be a counter. If he threw a kunai into the sand, the sand would cushion the strength of the kunai. In fact the sand would cushion all of Asuma's attacks. Based on the fins, Asuma assumed they had to be an amphibian type creature. Overall Asuma had to wait for their first attack, since them leaving the sand would allow him to perform a counter. He planted his feet strongly and stayed in his position waiting and on edge for the first attempt of an attack.

Users of this style often assume a one foot forward, one back, slightly swayed stance to free up movement as well at the expense of leaving their center open.

Zao eyed the young man, taking a half step back as the boy appeared to become series and settle into a type of fighting stance. It was in the motion of the white haired scholar stepping back that he faded completely from site as he activated an invisibility technique which appeared to leave Asuma to fend for himself against the three approaching sharks. The thin bodied plant spirit seemed to lift its pointed head end towards the approaching sharks over a hundred meters out and then turn its thorny body to look back at the genma host, appearing to almost nod its head as Toge had already been given orders from its master on what to do and what not to do. Lifting its head up slightly it then dove down into the sand beneath the chuunin's feet leaving not even a trace after a few moments had passed and a gentle desert wind swept across the sand.

Asuma appeared to be on his own but Zao had only moved a short distance away in reality but remained cloaked with the ninjutsu concealment technique in order to observe not only how the chuunin was able to respond to the pressure of fighting more than one spirit but also to see how far his mastery over the spirit's chakra had progressed in the short training stint they had. This would be a key test for the host and the scholar planned to see just how far he could safely push the kid at this time. Only realistic training would allow for one to grow as a shinobi, perhaps others had there own opinions but this was the opinion of the space-time user. With the boy seemingly left alone the sharks seemed to key in on the fact as the man and plant were rather adept in hiding their presence from the lower grade spirits.

With that in mind the sharks split up as one went around to the left side, one to the right side, and the larger nine meter long shark slowed its speed but allowed for its fin to remain above the surface while the other two appeared to swim deeper in to the hot desert sand. The two beneath the sand accelerated to their top speed and the one that would be approaching from the chuunin's right side would be the first to attack. It would give little warning before launching itself up from the surface like a rocket with a mouth full of razor sharp teeth attempting to snag a bit out of the lower part of the shinobi's leg below the knee. The one from the ninja's left side appeared to be waiting to see the results before preparing to do the same. These sharks were pack hunters and would overwhelm an opponent with numbers before dragging them into the sand and tearing them apart....

Asuma graduated from the ninja academy and has proved himself worth of combat by becoming a chuunin. This wasn't the first time he had been trained or even in a combative situation where he was outnumbered. He watched as the three were heading forward. He noticed that two of them went further into the sand and the other one stayed still with its fin out. Asuma knew of this tactic, it was a simple but effective one where a team has one to focus on as a distraction while the others come in for the attack. This also leaves the opportunity for that one that is visable to strike in case the others are countered. With that in mind Asuma knew that it was only a matter of time before he would be attempted to be hit. He had to make sure he was ready for a quick but effective attack method.

Once he saw the other two sharks' fins go under the sand, he placed his blade handle a little bit over his chest and angled the blade downwards. He knew that there was a few options of what would happen. Two would attack at once, then while his head was turned the third would come; or one would attack at a time and the third one would completely disappear from sight leaving him completely vulnerable and open for an attack. All Asuma could do would be to take down one at a time. Strike then reset, strike then reset. With this in mind he kept his head on a swivel and tried opening his eyes as wide as possible to utilize his peripherals to the best of his ability.

Asuma would hear a small movement in the sand and with that noise Asuma did not even hesitate to move himself out of the way. He extended himself backwards creating some space from where the noise was and himself. If he sent himself back in time, he would see the shark bite at where his legs would of been. During his time in the air he realized that maybe they were smarter than they seemed. If they launched themselves in the air, it would of been easier for Asuma to strike at them. Since the attempt was only a little bit out of the ground, that means that they are testing him.

If Asuma was successful in evading his first attacker than he would make a quick movement in the air as he began to descend backwards and towards the ground. In mid air Asuma would cut the middle of his jacket. He would then rip off the jacket and as he landed back on the sand the jacket would be in a ball. Without hesitation he would stab his sword into the jacket and then slam the object he created into the ground with the handle up. If he was given enough time for that he would jump on top of the handle. Due to him not being that heavy and the jacket in a ball acting like a filter, the blade would hopefully not go too deep into the ground. Now what was the point of this? He wanted to establish some distance between himself and the sand. He wanted to make sure that if a shark was going to come and attack him, he would not only be able to hear this, but see it as well. Within the same motion of him getting on the handle of his blade and balancing on it with his right foot, he quickly grabbed the last two kunai and held them in his left. So if he was able to evade the shark completely, Asuma would be seen balancing on the handle of his blade holding one kunai in his right and two in his left.

Due to his skill in ninja tools, Asuma chose to sit and wait again. Let them attack him now, he was ready.

A hard snap was heard as the shark's nose would brush against the cloth of the boy's pant leg, missing a debilitating bite onto Asuma's leg as it instantly 'swam' backwards back down into the sand after its near miss with the shinobi's limb not wishing to over expose itself to a counter attack. Though as it did so the next attack didn't come and the chuunin was allowed to finish off his movements as the distant third shark actually allowed for its tooth filled head to surface which would allow for the boy to get a better look at the menacing mouth of the spirit. But it wasn't surfacing without a reason now as it seemed to inhale before then exhaling a cloud of dust that didn't have much strength behind it, feeling like a strong wind but nothing more, but the sand cloud would obscure the young man's vision and possibly slow his reaction time down with the distracting mini sand storm that was hitting him.

Just as the cloud of sand would encompass the position that Asuma had put himself within atop the hilt of the sword now, the second shark came from directly below the Sand nin's position this time as the sand suddenly began to sink directly under the sword. When that happened the massive mouth of the sand shark could be seen as it was literally attempting to swallow the sword and jacket the young host was standing upon. With it large mouth and body size this was actually an easy task as it would even be able to bite up to the shinobi's knee if he didn't evade it this time. Meanwhile, Zao watched on through his sensory abilities and quietly observed the situation looking forward to the point when the host would be pushed to his limits.

Asuma as a whole felt pretty confident as he stood on his blade. It wasn't until the shark "swam" away that gave Asuma some confusion. 'Wait... what is going on... they are so tactical' he thought as he stayed on his blade's hilt. He held his kunai in his hands as he stood there paying close attention to anything that could be used for an opportunity. Asuma realized however that he was at a heavy disadvantage. Not only was he outnumbered, but the sharks themselves were organized and completely in their element. At least with water, Asuma would be able to see them.

He stood there holding his kunai and in a position ready to throw them at any moment. Welp, that moment came for Asuma when he saw a shark show its head. The moment it started to inhale, Asuma did not hesitate. He used this moment and reacted based on instinct, with little thought process to it. He ripped all 3 of his kunai at the head that would then exhale a sand storm towards him. Asuma was hoping that the kunai would hit or at least touch the shark, but the sand storm caused him to have issues with his vision. Once the cloud consumed him and his senses was down Asuma knew that if there was a time to attack him, now would be it. He would have to leave his lucky sword and also that would mean he would have to leave to a different spot within the sand without any weapons on him. However, he figured if the sharks could see as well as him, then that would mean that if Asuma was blind.... then so would they. He decided that his last efforts would be to disorient the sharks and attempt to confuse them at their own game.

Once the sand storm hit, Asuma would launch himself away from his blade and the spot he was standing on. Right as he jumped he would drop a flash bomb right below him and aim to send himself back far enough and quick enough to get away from immediate danger. It was clear that they could find him based on sight and motion, so Asuma had to throw them off. As he jumped and was in the air he would take two smoke bombs and throw them to the location he would land on. As he would land on the ground, Asuma would try to take off his sheath and shinobi headband. Once the young shinobi landed on the ground he would dissipate the genma's chakra from himself to help hide within the smoke. In the same motion he would attach the headband and sheath at a fairly quick pace and throw it far to his right within the smoke. If his plan would work, the sharks would hear his initial landing and then another noise far from the original drop. Asuma would shut his eyes and focus his on his sense of hearing and touch. By standing completely still, he had hoped that he threw off the sharks to attack the sheath. However, if they were to attack him, he would take out two shuriken (one for each hand) and be ready to evade again.

All of this movement and evading was somewhat costly, especially being in the genma form. He could feel himself getting fatigued and didn't know how much longer he could keep this up for. Asuma might have one more evade left in him before he starts losing his speed and becoming vulnerable to an attack.

The young man had successfully avoided being eaten by preemptively leaping off his sword, the shark taking the three kunai to the top of its head as they dug into the leathery skin of the beast causing it to let out a cry of pain before it fled back under the earth while the shark attack him from underneath fiercely chomped down on the sword that Asuma had been standing upon causing cracks to appear within the blade as it quickly retreated. Even with the sand storm hindering his vision slightly the shark was just to big to miss honestly. As the shark retreated back down below the sand it took the damaged sword and jacket down with it now as the flash bomb exploded in its face blinding the creature. This caused for the disoriented shark to flee away temporarily now as the bright flash and sound had scared it as it took the boy's lucky sword with it.

The smoke bombs going off simultaneously actually did work to help disorient the remaining third shark who had been preparing to sneak attack the boy as soon as he landed, the shark able to hunt of sight or hearing the vibration of its prey. The series of explosions set off by the body caused it to be confused and as it surfaced briefly it was unable to see through the now large smoke cloud that mixed in with the haze of sand limiting visibility to less than a meter within the cloud. Luck would be on the boy's side this time at least, the shark heard the last sound made which was the sheath and head band as they impacted the ground and just like before the creature dove into the loose sand. Only a moment later the creature attacked from below coming nearly halfway out of the sand within the smoke cloud now but ending up with a mouthful of the sheath and head band which it could be heard shattering within its teeth as it slipped back into the earth.

Beginning to circle the cloud of smoke as the shark that had been hit with the three kunai earlier join in the circling formation as they were unable to see or hear the boy who hid within the smoke, both of the spirits ready to wait out their prey. Though the third shark was still a bit away and hadn't recovered from being hit in the face with the light bomb as its vision and hearing were still not back to normal leaving Asuma to only have to deal with two sharks instead of all three for the moment at least. But he wasn't along as Zao observed the position of not only the boy but the spirits as well through his sensory abilities, Toge had moved directly under the boy's feet without even the slightly sound or disturbance in the sand incase he needed to assist the chuunin as were the orders of its master.

Within the chaos there was an odd pause. Life almost stood still and Asuma found himself in a dark void. Within the dark void the presence of Janesisu was shining and clear right in his face. He saw her as if she was the only thing in the world. This was odd, why would she interrupt in such a life or death feeling situation. She giggled as she descended to look at Asuma eye to eye. Although she was far away, she could still speak as if they were right in front of each other. She looked at him with a smirk and continued giggling. "Hun, you can be so stubborn its almost adorable." This statement alone caused Asuma to get frustrated and look at her oddly. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" He shouted as he pointed his right index finger at her. "Why did you even bother using my power... was it for a more flashy appearance? You transformed but you did nothing with it. You didn't even form a Kunai, darling." Asuma's facial and body expression changed heavily upon hearing this. Instead of angerily asking out of frustration, he politely asked the same question... but this time it was genuine. "Wait, what do you mean?"

Janesisu giggled as he changed his tone and asked like a polite boy. "There is my polite little sweet heart. Listen carefully, since you don't have much left in you I figured that with your last efforts you can at least learn from this. You wasted your energy in the beginning of the fight by transforming just to transform. You didn't even bother trying to figure out the purpose of why you did it. If you weren't aware, I am a form of a spirit. These creatures are clearly spirits, in fact that cute little vine pet your friend has is also a spirit. The way a shinobi can sense another living being is the same way a spirit can sense other spirits. You are barely able to evade these sharks because your normal senses are picking up when the spirits make physical contact or noise with something. Instead of using your normal senses, you should use your my chakra to sense the motions and intent of these shark spirits. If you truly allow my chakra to flow freely within you, you will be able to know when and where the sharks will strike in plenty of time to also counter."

Asuma looked dumbfounded; not because she just put him on the spot and basically shown him in a very obvious ways his flaws... no, he was dumbfounded because he had never heard Janesisu talk for so long and give him so much advice. She looked at him and tilted her head as she waited for his response. He shook his head and looked at her intensely. There really wasn't much to say. He humbly agreed with her and simply said "you are right Janesisu." He continued to look at her before asking his final question. "I am running out of energy... i'm scared if I borrow more of yours, then I'll exhaust myself." Janesisu giggled again and looked at Asuma. This is everything she wanted. She wants him to become more and more familiar with her chakra. She wants the young shinobi to learn and master her abilities. If he continued to move in this direction, then Janesisu could attempt to fulfill her dream sooner than later. She looked at him as she began rising up about to leave this plane that they were in for what would only seem like a second in the outside world. "Hun, if you can perform in the way I spoke about earlier you will realize that you are safer than you would think." With those words she left the black plane and Asuma became extremely determined.

Only a second flew by and Asuma came to in the same position he was in: Somewhat crouched, holding two shurriken (one in each hand) aimed at the direction of the sheath he threw. Within moments he heard a large noise and could tell by the way the smoke moved and the change in the sand, the shark fell for the bait. With great precision, Asuma threw both of the shurriken simultaneously at the beast. Asuma waited a couple seconds for the shurriken to disappear in the smoke before focusing his chakra to mould with Janesisu's. Instead of trying to control it, he let it flow completely throughout his body. It took a little bit longer than normal, but Asuma was able to go back into the form he had learned with Zao. While in this form, Asuma tried to take the time to really focus on the genma's chakra flowing within him. He used the chakra to get an extra sense of what was around him. With it being a shocking success Asuma couldn't help but look down directly below him. He could almost feel a small presence directly below him but for some reason he did not feel the malicious intent like the sharks that were attacking him.

Asuma was able to almost feel the spirit circling the almost cleared up dust. Before he could make a move forward, his form he was in dissipated from his body. It took only a few seconds before Asuma fell to one knee and began to shake a little bit. He burnt through a lot of his chakra and burnt through his stamina trying to hold the form with purely Janesisu's chakra overwhelming the little he had left. This left Asuma in a complete state of fatigue. He knew there was one shark surrounding him and since to his light show of a transformation, he was most likely spotted and already about to be hunted. "Damnit" he said as he struggled to move.

From his hidden spot nearby, the long white haired jounin simply watched but a maroon hue clashed with his normally bright blue eyes in that moment as he could tell that something had happened with Asuma and his spirit and it caused him to observe carefully in case there was the chance of the boy loosing control of the spirit. But as his gaze fall upon the chuunin he did not find the two chakra conflicting or the spirit's chakra completely dominating the young man. Instead it would appear that they were able to mix and mesh with one another freely, something he did not expect for the shinobi to be able to do so quickly with his spirit or for the spirit to act this way with her host. It caused for the older man to wonder if he had misjudged the spirit within the Suna-nin or if the spirit was simply working towards a different goal and was only playing nice.

Either way it had allowed for the chuunin to transform and through that transformation, but as a spiritualist that he was Zao could understand that while it was an amazing show of grit and determination on the host's part, it was obvious that he had almost ran out of stamina even with Janesisu's chakra there to help support him. Which meant that this training session was about to come to a close, but the scholarly man felt content in the results that his student had been able to achieve in such a short amount of time. 'Toge, pin them...' The shuriken had hit the shark on the side of the head but more than injury they cased anger to swell up in the shark as the trio combined for a three on one attack ready to devour the prey that had given them such a hard time today. Each coming from a separate direction as the young shinobi fell to a knee and curse, but from the surface one would be unable to see any signs of the three predators as they closed in rapidly upon him until the last second when the sand around him shifted from the left, right , and front sides.

Each of the beast appeared with wide open mouth filled with rows of razor sharp teeth, each mouth capable of latching on and ripping apart over a third of the boy's body at once, as it appeared he would be torn into thirds. Yet each was stopped just short as they chomped down upon something that would feel like metal in their mouth causing several teeth to shatter like weak stone. Each of the sharks had bitten down on a thin golden vine that appeared thin and fragile at first look but the sharks quickly found out other wise and when they tried to quickly retreat they found that they had been entangled and couldn't. From nowhere three maroon chains appeared and also wrapped around the spirits from about fifteen meters behind them now as the smoke and dust was swept away to reveal Zao coming into view from his camouflage technique. From his right hand the three Tenku chains had originated as they now constrained the sharks rendering them unable to move as he pulled them out of the sand and closer to himself.

With a wave of the left hand three small contains about six inches tall and four inches wide appeared neatly in the loose sand before the slender man allowed for his hands to move into a series of practiced hand seals that were nothing more than a blur of twisting hands and fingers to any who might see the action. Zao was using his temporary housing technique to seal away the three spirits, though a fate perhaps worse than death awaited them as the man was going to use a forbidden technique with the help of his senior to extract the Sand chakra essence from the three in order to empower Hana and her own Sand affinity. It was rare to find a spirit with an affinity for Sand and Zao could not pass up such an opportunity to help increase the strength of his other spirit plant. But this was of course information that he wouldn't be telling the young chuunin. Slowly the three large sharks were drawn closer to the containers before finally shrinking and being pulled inside as the lids seemed to close on there own. "It would seem that you and your spirit were able to build a better connection, Asuma-kun." The man's bright blue eyes finally turned to the exhausted chuunin as he spoke warmly and softly to the fellow Suna-nin, truly amazed with the progress he'd been abl to make.
JutsuShow

*Shizumeru • [Chains of Authority]
B-rank Tenkujutsu
After performing a set of hand seals, the user focuses chakra towards their hand. A chain made of Maroon chakra will shoot from their palm towards the target at 20 speed, up to 30 meters away. If it hits a spirit, a jinchuuriki, tsukimogami, or other such being, the chain will wrap around them, placing their arms, if they have any, to their side, stopping them from performing hand seals. These chains cling to the chakra of the Spirit itself, and are unable to be broken through physical means. If the target has a related Mastery stat or a Spirit has a strength stat higher than 20, they are able to break the binding. If the chains are able to stay on their target for a full 5 posts, this will cause a drop in available forms by 2.

*Ochiiru • [Temporary Housing]
S-rank Tenkujutsu (Nin)
Pre-Requisite: Storage & Force Fuuinjutsu Concentration
After doing the needed hand seals and writing the correct seals or having them premade on a storage device (such as a pot), the user is able to take advantage of a spirit that has been recently ejected from a host/object or one that has been defeated. As long as this jutsu is used the post after the spirit was ejected/defeated, the fuuinjutsu consumes the spirit, trapping them inside until the seal is broken or it is purposefully released.

Entangle
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
This is an easy taijutsu to perform, using its numerous vines, the plant demon will attempt to use one or more of its vines to lash out and attempt to entangle enemies in range.

Sweating, tired, but not sad about the sequence of events that had happened. Before he stopped moving, he sensed the critter below him and figured that it would help him. Although, he did flinch a little when the sharks got dangerously close. Once the sharks' teeth were breaking over the critter's vines, Asuma took the time to plop on his butt. He watched as Zao performed a series of hand seals and seemingly collected the sharks. Asuma had no idea what Zao was going to do with them and he figured that he wouldn't tell him either. Asuma gave a little giggle and looked at Zao until he finished sealing the sharks.

He took his time to get up and made his way to Zao. Asuma made a point to say something to him, he wanted his sensei to know that he learned something from this. "I know it nearly exhausted me to a vulnerable point. But Sensei, I did learn something from this. After a little discussion with Janesisu, I had just enough energy to go into that form again. But this time.... I was able to sense that vine thingy. I could tell it was below me and it's intent wasn't malicious, it was more waiting for something. After I started losing strength, it was clear what it was waiting for." Asuma had a big smile on his face, but he truly was tired. This was the most intense training he really has had. Not because of how long it was, but because it was hard training in something that was completely foreign to him. Asuma waited a bit for Zao to respond, but had a devious smirk on his face. If Zao spoke, Asuma would speak after him. "Soooooo" he would say trying to awkwardly lead to what he wanted to get to. Then all of a sudden Asuma became really animated in his facial expressions and his hands while he said: "OKAY OKAY, You have to tell me... Where did those sharks come from? Why were they swimming in sand? How did they know how to perform a jutsu like technique? Oh and where are they now? Wait! Also, what are you going to do with them?" It was clear that although Asuma was exhausted, he still could muster the strength to be his authentic self.

"Hmm…" The white haired, scholarly looking man seemed to take on a serious look on his face as the chuunin began to explain the transformation that he'd been able to reach with his spirit in that moment before the sharks had made there last assault, that face that he was able to sense the other spirit and even sense the malicious intent of the three sharks versus the protective nature of the golden thorn vine which had been there the majority of the time to protect Asuma. This was something that he wasn't away that the host would be able to do with the spirit's chakra and it even caused for him to pause and take a mental note about the unique sensation that the young shinobi was telling him about. "...Indeed, my young friend Toge was there to protect you this entire time. But of course I couldn't tell you that in the beginning or you wouldn't have had to rely on yourself to combat the spirits, and you also would not have had a breakthrough with your spirit."

The man's seemingly serious face then disappeared and he stretched his hand out to pat the chuunin on the shoulder, "Good job, Asuma.", Zao's soft voice spoke now as he congraduated the Suna-nin on his rapid accomplishments that he'd been able to make during the short training session which the scholar had taken him upon. Even the plant spirit, Toge, emerged from the sand besides its master and seemed to coil up so that it was nearly as tall as the chuunin now before the golden vine seemed to move its pointed vine end up and down as though it as in agreeance with its master's words. While the young man had expected for his student to have a few questions for him the burst of question that soon flooded out of Asuma's mouth even made the jounin take a half step back but in the end he couldn't help but let out a light laugh. This seemed to be the chuunin's true personality and Zao nodded before folding his thin arms over his chest now seemin to be in thought about how to answer assembly line of questions from his companion now.

A gentle smile once more emerged on the long, white haired shinobi's face as he swept his bright blue gaze out to the western side of the desert, towards a country near the border of Wind. The gaze lasted for a few seconds before he then redirected his attention the exhausted but enthusiastic young man before him and began to answer the questions that he could for the shinobi. "Well, obviously you know now that they were spirits. A special type of sand affinity spirit. As for where they are from, I can only guess as to where they originated from as I've never came across this species of spirits. About them using ninjutsu, you'll find as you become more experienced that there are spirits as proficient in ninjutsu as a normal jounin." Zao began to answer the numerous questions that his young student had about everything that had transpired during his training and this final field exercise, pausing to allow for the young shinobi to absorb some of the information that had been spoken to him before continuing.

Holding up the three small jars that each now had a chakra thread attached to them holding up the jars, allowing for them to seemingly hover about a meter or so off the shifting sand below the pair of ninja's feet the white haired man would continue to speak to Asuma now. "I've using my Tenku ninjutsu to temporarily seal the three of them away within this sealing containers..." Once more he paused to allow for his eyes to look over the three floating containers before him, after which he waved his hand opening a small hole in the fabric of space into his personal realm that was about a foot in diameter, then with a flick of the fingers in the other hand each of the jars was tossed into his realm for later use. A moment later the hole in space closed up and disappeared as though nothing had happened to begin with. "They are a bit to dangerous to let loose here, I'll have to take them far from here so that they don't cause any more trouble." Though the man said it with a smile, it was a lie. Zao was taking them far away, yet it was a place from where they would not return and instead the jounin was going to remove there sand essence from each of them and then instill it into his other spirit pet, Hana.

It was a forbidden technique that would increase the strength of the spirit flower by sacrificing the other spirits in order to do so, something like that couldn't be told to others as it might have been seen as here heresy within his home village. So, instead he simply allowed for his young student to believe that he was going to release them far from humans in order to not only protect himself but the boy who would have been affiliated with him in the process. "I believe it is time for us to return and for you to rest, I look forward to seeing how strong you'll become in the future my young friend." With a confident smile on his face the man turned to the side and swung the right hand through space in a knife hand like strike causing for a new tear in space to appear, within the worm hole one could see the familiar image of the Sand village on the other side. "Let us return now, Asuma." Dropping his right hand back to the side Toge quickly disappeared within the wide sleeve as the man used his other hand to motion for the chuunin to go ahead of him.

Asuma listened to Zao and simply nodded. He didn't fully understand what he meant but he trusted the man nonetheless. However, Asuma heard something that Janesisu said immediately after he explained what he was doing. She gave a short laugh and said "Ha, that is an interesting." Hearing Janesisu say that made Asuma think there was more going on. However, he chose to continue believing Zao since he simply had no reason not to. Asuma took a few steps to Zao. He walked to him exausted, internally in pain, and he didn't have most of equipment. He knew that this was a possiblitiy in every mission, but he had never fully lost his lucky sword and headband before. He had never really lost his jacket either. It took an extra minute to get to him. However, before he went into the portal he looked at Zao with determined eyes. "I understand I might not see you for some time Sensei, but your guidance helped me pave a path to where I should go with my abilities. The next time you see me, I will be much more than I was."

With those words being said he started to walk towards the portal. He then stopped right before walking in and looked at Zao with an embarrased look. He itched the back of his head and put one arm on his hip. "Oh.... by the way, do you know a good blacksmith for me to get a sword? Also, where is the best place to go to get another hand band... ha ha." He gave an awkward chuckle and waited for Zao's response. Once Zao would respond, Asuma would walk through the portal. He would never get used to going to places so quickly. Maybe it could be something he could achieve over time. However, he had only one goal; that goal was to master his genma and become the greatest shinobi of Sunagakure no Sato.

"I do have a lot of responsibilities within and outside of the village, but that is why I've crafted this for you." As the young chuunin spoke about not being able to see the man for some time and was taking the time to thank him the man shook his right arm and from his wrist a small silver bracelet with a dark green gemstone within it slipped off the wrist and into the man's slender finger now. "This a piece of Space-Time crafted jewelry that I made, it will allow for you to communicate with me if you need something over any distance." Though what he said was the truth it also had another purpose and that was that it allowed for the man to travel through space to the piece of jewelry and in turn travel to Asuma no matter where he was, a rather useful tool to place on one of the village's potentially most valuable weapons for the future. "Please take it..." With a warm smile the man offered the rather ordinary piece of jewelry to the chuunin before speaking again to the young man. "...and I'm looking forwards to the progress that you will make in the future."

With those words spoken he walked about a half a step behind the young man as they were headed back to the village now through the use of the tear in the fabric of space, though when he stopped and looked at Zao with a somewhat sheepish look the scholar had an idea what was on the shinobi's mind. "My young friend, since it was technically my fault I'll be the one to purchase you a new sword and head band." The long haired man couldn't help but let a light laugh slip through his thin lips before replying to Asuma now, it had been his fault to an extent and a sword and head band wouldn't break him either, plus it would be another jester from teacher to student for all the hard work he'd put in during the genma training. "We'll head to the black smith first..." The words seemed to be cut off as the scholar stepped through the portal at the same time as his student and a moment later the portal closed leaving nothing but empty desert..
