  • Face/head: Akane is not beautiful or sexy, but instead possesses a cute charm. She has a round-shaped head with a cute button nose and large green eyes. Her eyebrows are perfectly sized. Akane's ears aren't massive, but they are bigger than usual and poke out from under her wavy gray hair, adding to her cute look.
  • Body: Akane possess average proportions but is towards the athletic side for the most part. Born to a village blacksmith, she has spent the majority of her life helping her father in his shop and this can be seen in her toned physique. Her core and arms are particularly muscular due to upper-body workout of a blacksmith. Overall, she has the appearance of a sporty girl.
  • Notable Features: None in particular.
Clothing/Accessories: Akane tends to work in the forge most the time, which means she is around high heats. In the forge, loose clothing is a danger. As such, Akane wears a leather vest that ends beneath her chest over a black sports bra. Her midsection is free. She then wears black sports-leggings, brown skirt, and knee-high brown-leather boots. In terms of accessories, she usually wears a cap, long-heat proofed gloves, and a leather utility belt, from which her hammer usually hangs.

  • General: In general, Akane is a very dutiful girl. Responsibility is something she respects almost as much as her elders, and she always does her best to do a good job and please those above her. Additionally, as the eldest in a family of three girls, Akane felt the need to act more boyish and to become someone who could inherit her fathers shop... At the same time, Akane is not entirely interested in normal black smithery. She hopes to become an Engineer. A newer trade being touted around the high academies of Kumogakure.

Volnir was made by Toshiro for Akane when she graduated from the academy. It is a war-hammer that can also be used for smithing, one end broad with the other being more pointed. Ornately made of the highest-quality steel with gold detailing, Volnir has numerous fuuinjutsu embedded into it, making it always release electricity statically and capable of releasing a varying Raiton blast. Volnir's maximum electrical output is a lightning bolt up to 25 meters away at a speed of 20 and strength of 20, but this can be toggled down as desired.

    Doton Affinity
    A character with this concentration is able to utilize Doton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the doton affinity. Doton has a passive enduring effect.
    Passive (Enduring)Show
    Doton has a passive effect of Endurance, which means that it's power is retained throughout the entirety of the jutsu. All of a single doton jutsu retains the strength of the jutsu, even after the jutsu has been destroyed, and unlike other jutsu, doton does not fade when destroyed. This means that if a doton barrier with 25 strength is cut in half and falls to the ground, a part of that barrier could be picked up and carried as a hand held shield which would still have 25 strength, despite being a fractured part of a jutsu. This creates incredibly potent defenses, making doton a popular affinity among defensive fighters.

    Raiton Affinity
    A character with this concentration is able to utilize Raiton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Raiton affinity. Raiton has a shocking effect.

    Raiton has the effect of shocking, which means causes it's effect to be diffuse upon impact. In organic material, this causes nervous stimulation which results in numbness, tingling, loss of sensation, and sometimes paralysis. In inorganic material, this means that the strength of the jutsu diffuses across an area 2x the size of the attack. In a jutsu that creates a lightning ball 2m in diameter, if it struck a wall the size of the attack would cover a 4m area.

    Additionally, the strength of the nervous effect on organic material from raiton jutsu is determined by the ninjutsu stat requirement.

    Cobalt is an extension of Doton that creates the strong and durable, naturally magnetic mineral known as Cobalt. It is a metallic mineral that sparkles blue. Cobalt if strong enough, can absorb electricity and then react by emitting a magnetic field. This is it's reactive passive effect.

When electricity is pulsed through it, so long as the Cobalt can withstand the electricities strength, the electricity is "converted" causing the magnetic force, causing the cobalt to produce a magnetic field relative to the electrical energy driven through it.

    After performing the correct hand seals the user will form a 1 meter diameter ball of loose dirt in front of them, launching it off up to 10 meters away at a strength of 4 and speed of 6. Upon impact the ball of loose dirt breaks apart forming a vision-impairing cloud of dirt with a 3 meter radius.

    After performing the correct hand seals the user will form a solid stone wall up to 5 meters away from them at a speed of 6. The wall has a strength of 4 and is 3x3x1 meters large.

    After performing the correct hand seals, the user will cause a 1/2 meter pot hole to appear at a speed of 5 somewhere within 7 meters.

    *Doton • Binding Formation
    D-Rank Ninjutsu
    After channeling doton chakra into their foot the user will slam the ground within 3 meters of a target's feet with their heel, causing a formation of rock to shoot upwards at a speed of 6 binding the target's feet at a strength of 4.

    C-Rank Ninjutsu
    By channeling doton chakra into their arm, the user will form rock from their shoulder downward, encasing their forearm and hand in rough and simplistic layered plates of stone. The stone passes over the hand on the back-side but leaves the palm-side uncovered allowing full dexterity of the hand for seals. This essentially resembles a manica, which is a segmented armor that spans the length of the arm. The armor has a strength of 15 and forms at a speed of 5.

    *Doton • Tremors
    C-Rank Ninjutsu
    After performing the correct hand seals and holding the last one, the user will stomp their foot on the ground, releasing their chakra in it and causing it to tremor violently for one post. The tremors radiate out from the user in a 10 meter radius, knocking down anyone standing on the ground with less than 10 taijutsu. Lasts as long as the last seal is held, for up to 3 posts.

    C-Rank Ninjutsu
    After performing the correct hand seals and channeling doton chakra into her hand and placing it upon an earthen structure, Akane can manipulate the shape of the earth at the level of simple and basic geometric shapes- circle, squares, and triangles. This allows her to make holes in walls, or other seemingly simple structural modifications and can be done at a speed of 10. There is no strength involved in the jutsu for the displaced earth, meaning it does not have an attack value. No other jutsu can be used during this time and Akane must focus. The size limit of her change can be up to 3x3 meters maximum.

    B-Rank Ninjutsu
    After performing the correct hand seals the user will form a basic dome-styled home with a 7 meter radius up to 25 meters away from them at a speed of 15. The material of the home has a durability of 25 and roughly a foot thick, it's curved style offering additional defensive support against projectiles. The technique can be used to create a shelter from the elements, or a protective dome in the heat of combat.

    After performing the correct hand seals the user places their palms on any earthen ground, channeling chakra into it allowing them to lower or raise any 5x5 meter segment of the ground within 15 meters at a speed of 30 and strength of 10. The maximum distance the segment can be lowered or raised is 20 meters. The user must keep their palms on the ground during the course of the jutsu. If they remove their palms at any time, the jutsu will end and they will not be able to raise or lower it any further without redoing the technique.

    After performing the correct hand seals Akane will form a small cobalt contraption, roughly 3cm in diameter. It is a concave shape and has a needle that rests precariously upon a point. Basically, she creates a compass.

    After performing the correct hand seals Akane will form a set of up to 10 basic projectiles made of cobalt, such as kunai, shuriken, or senbon, in their hand. Created tools have a durability of 5.

    After performing the correct hand seals Akane will form a chain of cobalt either up to 25 meters long in her hand. It has a durability of 5.

    Magnetic Restraints
    D-Rank Ninjutsu
    After performing the correct hand seals Akane will create two cobalt rings with a hinge that allows them to open and close at a speed of 1, each opposite producing different polls. Once closed, the ring locks and has a durability of 9.

    After performing the correct hand seals Akane will form a single explosive kunai in her hand. When destroyed or kai'd it explodes with the force of a single tag, scattering magnetically charged cobalt shrapnel everywhere.

    Akane has spent quite a deal of her time since promotion to Chuunin researching a new invention. For the invention, a perfectly smooth shape that can be exactly replicated over and over again was necessary. As such, after performing the correct hand seals Akane will form 10 meter long, 5-inch wide rail of cobalt with a shallow U shape, resembling a bracket. This track is created at a speed of 5 and has a durability of 25.

    Prequisite: 15 Ninjutsu
    Part of her new invention, after the appropriate hand seal, Akane will form a 7x2.5x2x5 meter shaped cobalt box with a roof and semi-open sides. The box is created at a speed of 5 and with a durability of 25. The bottom of the box has rails alongside it, forming a sort of top-hat shape that fit perfectly into her tracks.

    Akane was born to a relatively skilled village blacksmith, Tomino Masahiro. His shop had been owned by his father and had been making tools and weaponry for shinobi for generations. Masahiro himself had graduated the academy and was strong in Katon and Taijutsu, perfect for a village smith. Masahiro hoped to pass the shop to his son in the future, but his first born happened to be a girl... Akane. His second and third were also girls... As a result, Masahiro raised Akane to be the son he never had. Growing up she played sports with the local boys, caught bugs, and did all the things any normal boy in the village did. She studied her fathers smithing and also practiced hitting a weighted-rubber mallet against a surface to build strength in her arms. From a young age she knew her responsibility would be to inherit her fathers shop.

    Eventually, Akane entered the academy. She was lacked the instinct for combat, the strategy, and the body finesse and generally did poorly at Genjutsu. Regardless, her creativity and skill in Ninjutsu allowed her to gain the confidence of her instructors. As she continued to learn Doton, she would practice smithing with her father at home creating traditional weapons like katana or even Kunai. By her 12 she had created a new Doton type that merged her own chakra and strange manipulation to create Cobalt. She began to dabble in making traps and more complex mechanical weaponry, quickly earning the respect of many others around her and gaining her the moniker of "Engineer". By 13, she had graduated the academy and had begun to work within Kumogakure as a support ninja, working on infrastructure and also at her dad's Blacksmith shop. Her dad gifted her Volnir, and though she was not interested in her dads work she felt an extreme responsibility to work at the shop.

    Though remarkably normal and lack-luster in combat, in her Genin years she proved to be an extremely capable engineer and someone with potential in Ninjutsu, having mastered 3 styles early on. As such, at 14 she was offered the chance to help build some relief shelters for refugees during the KCW. Doing so with extreme efficiency gained her the gratitude of her countrymen and her village. Following this, she was asked by the 9th Raikage to begin using her Cobalt to develop a special project. For the last two years she has designed and tested an idea for "an electric rickshaw" that would change the way normal people lived.

    With her success in design, she was promoted to Chuunin and is working under directions from the Kage to research projects that would advance the infrastructure of Kumogakure and the world. Currently, she is part-time attending classes to learn more on Fuuinjutsu, a technology necessary for infrastructure.

    This needs more detail, primarily 1) how strong is the raiton that it is able to release? Does it have a range or is it only flowing through the hammer? Is raiton constantly running through it or is it something Akane needs to channel into it or is it something she can toggle?

    2) How hot are we talking in terms of burns? Since you're able to smith with it, I assume we're talking 3rd degree burn area. Is it constantly hot or does it toggle on and off? If not constantly hot, how long does it take to heat up?

    To be honest, this one weapon seems like it's trying to do a lot of different things which depending on your answers to the above would make this into a special pricing weapon that you might not be able to afford with just base start up equipment points.

    This needs a lot more detail as well and to be honest I'm not completely sure it's even viable.

    1) "Cobalt is immune to electricity attacks and instead of being destroyed, reacts to electricity." This reads like "Cobalt is immune to Raiton" which if that's the case, that's a no. It could probably resist it but it's not going to get full immunity.

    2) "In essence, depending on the piece of Cobalt, a negative or positive magnetic field can be generated" - I'm already leaning towards no for this simply because magnetism exists, but the fact that you seems to be able to actively choose whether or not it generates a positive or negative magnetic field makes it into a hard no for me. That dips to far into magnetism imo.

    I assume this is supposed to read like "A D-rank cobalt releases a magnetic field equal to half the strength of the attack hit by it." and so on. Disregarding the other points above, is it an instant reaction or does it store and hold onto the electricity?

    I'll talk about the Magnetism for now. Magnetism is not banned from being done in other forms- just like everything on Saigen. The method for magnetism is completely different. Magnetism release literally creates magnetic forces. This is a side-effect of a literally earth-occuring element. Cobalt is a magnetic mineral and naturally occuring thing.

    I think it's totally kosher.


    As for immunity to electricity, I meant it absorbs the electricity and turns it into magnetic field... I think it makes sense, and sure you can't destroy a magnet with Raiton, but an enemy could also trigger effects I don't want triggered etc. Use my stuff so I can't etc. The game changes but it's still there.

    @Effect. I thought it would be instant generally, based on the above. No control over it.

    If it can hold, I figured it'd be like a battery. The magnetic jutsu would require it's own strength, and the electric charge wouldn't be able to surpass it. (Kind of like a battery can't have more than it's capacity)

    I think the idea is totally kosher, but I am totally willing to work out the kinks on mechanics.


    Back to the hammer. IDK. I was thinking just a d-rank shock for now? I can cut the burn part actually

    Cobalt <- So seeing how the entire character depends on this, I wanna get this out of the way before checking much else. Anyways, after a quick discussion it was generally agreed on that this should probably work closer to Shouton, where if it survives after being hit, it absorbs electricity equal to the strength of the technique it was hit by, generating a magnetic field based on the strength absorbed. As blanket raiton immunity is far too strong and saying it can generate a "half magnetic charge" doesn't really make a whole lot of sense.

    Changed the hammer and cobalt.

    Hammer just can shoot up to B-Rank Electricity. Cobalt now is limited by it's own durability.

    How's that? I wanna get that out of the way first, then I need to adjust the jutsu, so you can ignore the Jutsu for now.

    Hammer as it is now is too expensive for start up, cost would be roughly 59 points. Cost can drop by 30 points if she has the Raiton concentration and it'd be 24 points. Basically, it'd use up all of her equipment points and be the only thing sans 15 of a disposable weapon.

    I assume you're aware you could generate magnetic fields but couldn't manipulate the fields themselves?

    I feel like it should be specified in each jutsu to be honest. Leaving it subjective and letting it be determined on a case by case basis implies at least a little control over the magnetic force which starts to dip into jikiton imo.

    Like, if these were jikiton techniques, I'd be more okay with the positive/negative charge being determined in thread, but since the magnetic force is supposed to be a byproduct/passive of the cobalt I feel like it should be jutsu specific.

    I mean, I can just drop the negative/positive thing whole. Techincally magnets have a north and south pole so it doesn't have to be one or the other...

    Why not just not mention it at all? Jikiton as precedence doesn't specify which magnetic pole is being manipulated.

    If the answer is that it is a natural earth metal, not force manipulation, then it should be having both a north/south pole like any magnet.

    Trap Box <--- Just a quick clarification, are the kunai supposed to be launch out of the top of the box or are the holes on the top just for like reaching in and grabbing them? The way that last part is worded makes it sound like it might have been intended for them to launch.

    The holes are so the contents can be launched/ejected, but the contraption itself cannot launch anything. (This jutsu just creates the trap and weapons).
