Xiao Feng

General Information Type: Henchman
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Appearance:

Due to his training as a swordsman, Feng has accumulated many scars and is missing the top portion of his left ear. Other than his scars, Feng is relatively normal, he has shoulder length black hair, bright green eyes, and somewhat tanned skin from being outside constantly. Despite his physical training, Feng's muscles are less defined than one would expect for someone of his rank, however, this is only because he prefers to have a slim build rather than a bulky one.

Feng, like his brother Li, wears baggy, black Hakama pants, tied to his waist with a red cord that also holds two black butt pouches to his waste. On his feet are two-toed, black Tabi boots, and on his torso is a tight, almost spandex-like, long sleeve, black shirt that also covers his neck. A mask of the same material as his shirt covers his neck and can be pulled up over the tip of his nose. In most cases Feng will wear a straw Sugegasa with foot long pieces of white cloth hanging from it on each side of his face, to help keep the sun from reaching his eyes.

Personality:
If asked to describe himself with one word, Feng would use Passion. Everything that Feng does, he does with his entire being. No matter how big, or small, the task is, Feng will always give his all to see it complete. He is often seen as a "hot head" because of his passion for not only training but fighting as well. Simply put; Feng is addicted to adrenaline, and this causes him to go out of his way for fights, but, he has also learned, from his brother Li, to approach situations with a calm, calculated mind. He has learned to fight his battles in his mind before he ever attacks physically, so that he can get the most out of the fight, but also so that there are no unnecessary injuries. When it comes to matters of the village, or family, Feng prefers to allow Li to do all of the talking for him, even though he is just as educated as his brother. It should be noted that Feng is terrified of Genjutsu, and freezes up when he realizes that he is within one.

When it comes to matters of the heart, Feng is actually quite closed off from the world. He believes that his family would hate him if he were anything other than "straight," so he does not allow any other ideas other than being straight to enter his mind. However, he is not always able to keep himself from checking out members of the same sex, though he tells himself it is because he is analyzing their fighting ability. He is so focused on being what he believes his family wants him to be, that he does not actually know if he is attracted to women, or, if he is attracted to men, or if he is attracted to both. The idea of being attracted to members of the same sex literally scares Feng, to the point where he refuses to even speak to his elder brother about how he feels and thinks.

Jutsu
Ochiba TaijutsuShow
Ochiba
Ochiba is a weapon style originating from the fire country, one of the few weapon styles developed by Shinobi and not Samurai. Ochiba translates as “Dead Leaf” As it is a weapon style that focuses on the use of a Kunai which are similar in appearance to a leaf. The kunai is held in a reversed manner, the handle comes up by the thumb and the blade comes down by the bottom of the hand. This allows for short, yet quick strikes and parries. Though this style is developed to use a kunai it can be transposed to other short weapons such as ninjato & tanto, though not all techniques will be available.
Requires: Deft Hands and Sword Weapons

*Ochiba • Single Finger Draw
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Utilizing this Maneuver, the user is able to quickly draw a kunai from its holster. This is done by placing their finger through the lip of the holder and into the ring of the pommel, flicking it up and out quickly, having the kunai in the user’s hand within an instant.

*Ochiba • Oaken Defense
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 10 Speed
A technique that specializes in fighting Samurai and equalizing the battlefield. The user will wait for their target to attack, and will quickly counter this by gliding the blade of their kunai onto the opponent's blade. The user will quickly move in towards their opponent while also sliding their kunai closer and closer to the opponent's hilt. This will force the angle of their blade to be raised and leaves the opponent wide open for attack.

*Ochiba • Dance Detour
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 10 Speed
A technique that relies highly on speed, much like a floating leaf being swept away by the wind, the user will attempt to slap away any incoming melee strikes or projectiles with their kunai. The average of the user's speed and strength needs to be higher than the strength the projectile was thrown at, using the momentum of their own speed to deflect the strike.

*Ochiba • Extending Branch
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 8 Taijutsu
Using extremely quick thinking, if the user attempts to land a hit but their kunai is just short of hitting their target, they can very quickly spin the kunai on their finger, effectively extending its reach by a few inches.

*Ochiba • Round and Round
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
The user will start by performing an extremely quick and powerful slash aimed at the target, and then continuing with that movement, they will spin themselves around and follow up with a powerful roundhouse kick.

*Ochiba • Somersault Assault
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
The user waits for an attack by the enemy, baiting them into aiming for their head. When the opponent strikes they will take a step back in order to dodge, crouch down, and run at the target. If they successfully get to their target, the user will then attempt to land a few quick slashes with their kunai, do a backbend, and flip their legs back to get away from the opponent. While doing this, they will also try to slam their feet into the opponent’s jaw.

*Ochiba • Guerilla Warfare
C-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
The user has become a master at movement and energy expenditure being able to make the best of quick movements while also being able to maintain awareness and escape from a sticky situation. They utilize the utmost of their speed to make every movement count and can create quick formulated movements that are efficient.

*Ochiba • Leaf Duster
C-Ranked Taijutsu Stance
The user will place their middle finger through the pommel of the kunai, gripping it so the blade hangs out of the side of the palm, using the weapon as a knuckleduster. The user will keep their hands up to protect the face in this stance as they prepare for maneuvers mostly hand to hand based, but blades at the ready should they need them. Any physical punches used with this technique will add blunt damage.

*Ochiba • Blinding Leaf
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 15 Speed
Utilizing their kunai as a throwing weapon, the user sprints at their opponent and when they are less than a meter away, whilst sprinting, they will toss their kunai directly at their target’s face. If the attack is done correctly, it will simultaneously blind the target by blocking the majority of their vision and distract them. Also, it creates the appearance that the user is actually thrusting with the kunai instead of releasing it, allowing them the opportunity to strike.

*Ochiba • Spare Ribs
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
A simple, yet effective strike. Often used in correlation with Ochiba • Oaken Defense, however not required. The user simply needs to be up close, they will swing their kunai in a horizontal motion towards their opponent's rib cage, aiming for the cavities between the ribs and damaging any organ behind it. The user will then turn the kunai, breaking the rib if their strength is 5 higher than the opponents and even has a chance of separating it entirely from the rib cage.

*Ochiba • Relent
B-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
The user will begin by dashing around the opponent, so they are facing their back. They will then deliver a very fast slice from shoulder blade to shoulder blade, effectively making all arm movements intensely painful. While doing that, with their leg, the user will deliver a powerful kick aimed at the back of their knee. This is to get the opponent down to one knee. The target's strength must be 10 higher than the user's to resist the buckle. Once they are on their knee, the target will be open to a variety of attacks.

*Ochiba • Tendon Tension
B-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 25 Speed
A technique that relies heavily on speed, the user lowers themselves down taking a loose stance, rocking back and forth on their tiptoes. The user will slice the target's ankle from the front to the back, adding more power as it reaches the Achilles tendon. This will likely cut it completely making the tendon useless.

*Ochiba • Last Mistake
B-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
When fighting a sword user, the user tries to bait the opponent into performing a slash with their weapon. Expecting it to come, the user will quickly block the strike with their kunai, stopping the momentum of the attack. The user will then open up their hand and allow the kunai to loosely hang on their finger. Then, the user will try to grab onto the wrist of the opponent and quickly pull them to the ground, and also kicking at the target's front foot, pushing it towards their back one, weakening their footing and making them easier to topple. While doing so, the user’s free hand will be placed on the opponent’s back, trying to aid in pushing the target to the ground or at least stagger them. While the opponent is falling forward or is staggered, the user will very quickly grab onto their kunai and thrust it forward into the opponent’s chest, usually the heart or lungs.

*Ochiba • Dance of The Devil
A-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 30 Speed
Though often used in correlation with Ochiba • Single Finger Draw it is not a requirement, as long as the kunai is already withdrawn. The user will lower themselves down and sidestep thrusting upwards and cutting the targets hamstrings, making their legs useless so they fall to the floor. In a fluid motion, they will pirouette to the opposite side and slice the targets throat as they are falling. If the targets taijutsu+instinct/2 is less than the user’s speed, they won’t see the user move until it’s too late.

*Ochiba • When The Last Leaf Falls
A-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 30 Speed & Ochiba • Blinding Leaf
The user starts by using the Blinding Leaf technique to get in close to their opponent and distract them. While the kunai is moving towards the opponent’s head, the user will slam their elbow into the solar plexus of the opponent, pushing their body back and doing intense damage to their ribcage. After that, in a split second, they will catch their kunai, and very quickly deliver a series of stabs across the opponent’s stomach and chest.
Iaido KenjutsuShow
Iaido Kenjutsu:
Iaido Kenjutsu is a sword style originating from the Land of Tea that focuses on the fact that when first drawn, the linear motion and force of pulling a katana from its sheath are able to generate unusually fast slashes. Iaido capitalizes on this, it's samurai equally skilled in close range hand-to-hand fighting and then being able to switch to single fast slashes and stabs before returning to previous combat, making them unpredictable fighters.
Requires [Sword] and [Perception] Concentrations
*[Iaido • Swift Draw]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 5 Taijutsu, 8 Speed
With the most widely recognized attack of Iaido style, the user draws their katana at a very quick speed, making a powerful slash in tangent with the draw. This technique is dependent on the user's overall reaction speed as it is usually only used when an opening presents itself or when the user needs to draw their sword quickly.

*[Iaido • Block]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 8 Speed
A technique developed out of a need to protect himself from other weapon users, Block is simple in its use, but highly effective when used right. By partially drawing their sword, the user of this technique is able to use the back of their blade to block incoming weapon attacks should they time it correctly. The user must be careful when using this technique, should the attacker have a high enough strength, this technique could very well shatter the user's weapon.

*[Iaido • Hilt Strike]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 8 Speed
A simple technique, Hilt Strike is designed for moments when the target is to close for the user to fully draw their sword. Gripping their hilt in a downward dagger position, the user will quickly draw their blade out as far as they can, and use the butt of the hilt to strike their target in an attempt to push them back and set them up for their other attacks.

*[Iaido • Cutting The Eyes]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 8 Speed
A simple, yet very effective technique, Cutting The Eyes is a Line Draw aimed at the target's eyes. The user attempts to horizontally slash the target's eyes in order to remove their eyesight.

*[Iaido • Line Draw]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 8 Speed
The technique is recognized by its signature stance of one hand just below the opening of the katana sheath and the other firmly on the sword. Drawing the sword in one swift motion, the user creates a horizontal or vertical slash in front of themselves before sheathing the sword, often chaining these strikes together for greater effect.

*[Iaido • Double Back Draw]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 15 Speed
The technique realizes the concept of a draw's momentum increasing attack speed rather than the technique of drawing itself. With this concept, the user draws their weapon and then makes an upwards slash followed by a second downward slash, and then an immediate re-sheath. This causes two deep diagonal cuts in the direction of the draw and re-sheath that happen near instantaneously.

*[Iaido • Snap Draw]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 15 Taijutsu, 15 Speed
With a honed body capable of producing torque within the user's muscles, the user is capable of achieving a 'Blurred Sword' effect in an attack. The user draws their sword with such speed and power that the strike itself is incredibly difficult to notice without a high amount of instinct.

*[Iaido • Beheading Draw]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 15 Speed
The user draws their katana with one hand and slams their palm into the back of their blade to increase the force behind the swing made in any direction. This works with the blunted side of a sword, but it can also draw out their strength and the blade's cutting power in full to quickly slash apart obstacles. Re-sheathing after this technique may take a bit longer; the placement of the hands following this technique make it difficult to resheath properly.

History
Xiao Feng's HistoryShow
Feng's life was absolute shite in the beginning. His parents died when he was four, a byproduct of being shinobi, and because he had no family to care for him, he was placed into an orphanage. Life in the orphanage was not terrible in of itself, however, the older kids were fond of bullying, which caused Feng to spend most of his time wandering through the village. As he was unsupervised for the majority of his time during the day, Feng began to steal anything, and everything, that he wanted. This led to Feng constantly getting into trouble, until the day that he met Xiao Li. Li caught the boy attempting to steal some food and wine, and decided to pay for the things for Feng so that he would not have to write up any paperwork on the crime.

After speaking to Feng for a few hours, Li had decided to adopt the boy as a younger brother, naming him Xiao Feng, and placed him into the village's academy. Feng was absolutely horrid at Ninjutsu, and Genjutsu, which came as a surprise to Li because he had found out that the boy's parent's had been a puppet user, and a long-range Ninjutsu and Genjutsu user. However, Feng excelled in Taijutsu and even proved able to split his attention between two weapons at the same time. Upon discovering this aspect of Feng, Xiao Li hired a traveling swordsman he had met on a mission to train his younger brother. This swordsman had trained in a unique style from the land of Fire known as Ochiba which focused primarily on close combat with short swords and kunai. Xiao Feng took to this style like a fish to water, and poured his heart, and soul, into it. During his training with Ochiba, Xiao Li also forced Xiao Feng to train in Iaido kenjutsu as well, so that he would have more than one option in battle.

With all of the extra training outside of the academy, Xiao Feng's studies began to fall behind, causing him to fail his classes, though, with some tutoring from Xiao Li, his grades quickly rose. While he was unable to effectively use Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, he still firmly grasped their concepts and swore that he would one day master them, just as he would his Kenjutsu. He eventually passed his exit exams for the ninja academy and became a Genin. From then on Xiao Feng was placed with a Taijutsu focused Chuunin who would be able to help the boy hone his kenjutsu skills even further. This caused Xiao Feng to really focus on making his training in Ochiba, and Iaido, his own, because he was no longer able to rely on a master to correct him when he did something wrong, as the Chuunin was unfamiliar with both taijutsu styles. His Chuunin instructor was, however, able to teach him the proper ways to train his body, how to eat healthily, and how to better prepare his body for training, something Xiao Li had overlooked, as he was not familiar with Taijutsu training.

However, after Xiao Feng had spent some time as a Genin he stilled showed absolutely no progress in his training with Ninjutsu or Genjutsu. Because of this Xiao Li decided that his brother might be better off training as a samurai rather than a ninja, and took Xiao Feng to meet with one of the high ranking samurai in the Daimyo's guard. After the man tested Xiao Feng's abilities he agreed to take Xiao Feng on as a disciple and promised that he would one day rise into the ranks of the Daimyo's official guard. After making his brother promise to do his best Xiao Li left Xiao Feng in the care of the man named Takashi and returned to the village. Xiao Feng then began his official training as a samurai. He trained long and hard for years and quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the official guards in the samurai army. Although he remained a low ranking samurai overall, within his unit Xiao Feng was given his own troop of forty to command. No matter where his job as a samurai took him, or how hard his training became, Xiao Feng always wrote back to Xiao Li whenever he got the chance. However, after receiving a letter from Xiao Li's fiance that he had been severely injured, and crippled, Xiao Feng applied for leave from the Daimyo's army and returned home. He now accompanies his brother, and his brother's fiance, wherever they go in the hopes that he can serve as their protector.
