[Graded][PB] Something Unexpected

Post by Zao » Thu Dec 13, 2018 6:49 pm

On this rather normal, sun filled day within the confines of the Suna village the white robed scholar would be found on his off day from his newly reinstated jounin duties within his home. His home was a rather elegant looking two story home with a courtyard in the back and a number of flowers and exotic plants found within the courtyard. But one would not find the young man outside relaxing within the garden of wondrous aromas and instead he had retreated deep into the basement of the home above, the basement being one large workshop style room. A number of book filled shelves lined every wall as a few work desks with scrolls of all sizes, puppet parts, and tools were scattered about even on the floor as it seemed the man was keen at knowledge but not so much when it came to cleaning up after himself.

This normally happens whenever the man got truly into working on or studying something, that was such the case today as the blue eyed man was in the center of the workshop as a ten meter wide stone platform, at one of its sides stood the slender figure with a worn notebook in hand and a pen in the other hand that was jotting down notes and thoughts about the specially constructed platform before him. It was the space-time teleportation platform he'd removed from the depths of the mountain that day when the two men had escaped the trials of bounding through the spirit realms. He'd done so in order to prevent another from having the same thing happen to them but their was also another reasoning by the actions of the shinobi. It was to study the creation of the platform to learn more about how it worked and if it could be used to venture to new spirit realms with some modification, while also attempting to learn more about its creator; the mysterious space-time traveler whom had links to the abandoned country of Juu.

Earlier that day a letter of invitation had been sent out to his young student, Asuma, requesting him to come by so that the pair could speak as Zao had just returned from Fur country. The young man had wondered just how much the young chuunin had been able to grow in the time that he'd been away, plus it was also time for a mandated check up to ensure that the genma host still had control over the spirit bound within him. Genma host's were always closely monitored to ensure they were progressing and to also ensure that they were not becoming slaves to the spirit within them. Zao was not to worried about the latter as from what he could tell the spirit had taken a rather strange liking to her new host but it was still a relationship that needed constant monitoring. Perhaps the young shinobi had also ran into some questions or problems with training his new power that he could aide him with, as well.

When Asuma would arrive he would find the courtyard gate unlocked along with the back door, after entering the back door he would be able to traverse through a spacious kitchen area that was simple and clean in appearance with a note on the island. It read. “You can find me in the basement doing some research, I’ve set up a few trials to test your strength as a shinobi and as a host. If you can get past them then you’ll find me down there.” The note seemed to indicate that the man’s teacher wanted to test how much progress he’d made since they saw one another, in it is pointed towards a door that was off to the left. It was locked with a special fuuin that would prevent someone from picking it and it would take a strength of ten or more to break in. Down the stairs he’d find a Tenku barrier that the host would need to form a strong spirit technique to break through the maroon colored barrier….

Asuma had spent the time apart from Zao training to get a better grasp on the power of the Genma's forms. He was at a point where he could feel the next level to be unlocked very soon. He was so close and it took immense amount of training to get there. He had been so focused on getting his control over the Genma's powers, he hadn't even tried to learn new jutsu. With all the intense training, Asuma was excited to have a few days to relax. He stretched around his older brother and sister's house. When he got downstairs he grabbed a cup and poured himself a water. As he made his way to the door, he found a letter that was addressed to him. Asuma read the letter, only to find out that his presence was requested.... Wait! By Zao! Asuma went from sad to excited within seconds. Asuma had grone accustomed to Zao and enjoyed their training session from a while back.

As fast as he could move, Asuma ran up to his room and got his normal ninja attire on. He grabbed his new lucky blade and tied his headband to his head. Asuma made his way out of the house and sprinted to the address that was on the card. Asuma arrived to a beautiful home. When he walked up, he noticed the gates were unlocked. He followed the path to the backdoor and found himself within the kitchen. He saw from the corner of his eye a note. He turned and faced it. It read: “You can find me in the basement doing some research, I’ve set up a few trials to test your strength as a shinobi and as a host. If you can get past them then you’ll find me down there.”

A large sigh came from Asuma after reading the note. 'Trials?!?!' He thought as he looked noticed the note's final message which pointed to a door that seemed to be locked. Asuma tried jiggling the door a few times, but it was locked incredibly well. He itched his head in confusion. 'No door should be THIS locked' he though as he looked at the door handle oddly. Then Asuma thought... 'He did say I would be tested, so maybe I have to break it down?' Asuma tried hitting the door with his foot at half strength, but it was clear that wouldn't do the trick. Asuma took several steps back before moving into a full sprint and ducking his shoulder down a bit. He then collided with the door and hit it as hard as he possibly could.

The door broke through, but the stairs decended almost immediately. Asuma was not prepared and fell down all of the stairs until he finally landed on his butt on the lowest level. Asuma got up in a slow manor rubbing and sore parts of his body. He was about to walk forward until Janesisu spoke up within him. "Sweetheart, maybe you should activate the first form and look around a bit.... something seems to be off about this room." Asuma nodded and within seconds focused his energy completely. He was fairly better and entering into the first form and this only took less than 10 seconds to enter into Form 1.

Asuma's borrowed white chakra flowed through him and he had used the same technique he learned from training with Zao last time to sense the barrier. Asuma had spent all this time training his form, so he had a few tricks up his sleeve to combat a lack of techniques. Asuma coated his whole body with the white chakra and then focused it on his hand to make a scalpel like shape forming from his hand. He pushed his hand forward and ripped the barrier with his extended hand. He used that chakra to flow through him as he ripped through the barrier and entered the other side. Once he was through he dissipated his form 1 and thanked Janesisu for the assistance. He looked up only to see...

The white haired scholar heard the smash of the door upstairs, though he didn’t turn his back towards the distant stairs behind him the man only smiled and continued to work. His trials were simple ones meant to test both physical strength and the strength of his control as a host. As the Maroon barrier faded the chuunin would find himself within a completely different place and the home for the third and last trial was a special realm summoning placed by the Tenku user. It had been tied to the simple spirit barrier to activate when it was broken and as a result Asuma would find himself in a completely different realm or at least it would appear that way when he slipped through the barrier.
In this new ‘realm’ was a bubbling lake of lava with five small rocky islands only two meters in size, one of which the young shinobi was currently standing upon. From the molten metal and rock a heavy set looking lava spirit about five meters in height rose from the depths of the lava now to stand atop its surface as though it was standing on water like a shinobi might have done. It’s hair was long and grey in color as its face look like an orge’s as one could see it’s body cool turning black in color as veins of lava could still be seen running through the spirit’s body as it tilted its ugly face at the boy now.

The bulky creature only seemed to smile at the small shinobi standing before him and drew back the large right arm and charged straight on towards Asuma now. Striking with a strength equal to his own as it slammed the first down aiming to smash the boy off the small island of safety from the lava below. Matching the child in both strength and speed. Zao had been notified of the barrier activating and could only nod in approval meaning that the young Suna-nin had passed two of the three challenges that had been set up for him to test himself. This third trial would come down to whether or not the both could beat the spirit or outlast the length of the realm summoning technique which had been used.

Meanwhile, the man continued to work around the large teleporter that had been created by the strange and mysterious individual whom had traveled the spirit realms hundred of years before Nori and he had done so. But somehow that man was still alive as he had dragged the pair from the serpent realm into his own personal realm that was like a gigantic library of floating shelves and books. Who was he? Did he really just leave the teleporter behind as a test for the other generation? Was he really from the mysterious country of Juu whom was deserted of all its previous inhabitants? So many questions and yet there were no real answers as of yet for the noble looking man who brought his notebook into his hands once more jotting down a unique fuuin diagram on one side of the stone platform.

Prerequisite: Charge Fuuinjutsu Concentration
After placing the necessary fuuinjutsu and performing the needed hand seals, the user summons an area up to 20^3 meters that lasts for 5 posts. This barrier creates a bubbling lake of lava overlay with small rock islands about two meters wide where any individuals were standing during the transfer from the spirit realm. This allows the user to summon spirits cost free at the cost of one lump sum of chakra up-front.

'These tests are boring, hopefully I am done by n-----' Asuma thought to himself as he entered the realm he had no idea what was going on. "WHAT THE HE-" He screamed in the sight of a lava pit and the sight of the demon in front of him. What was going on? Was this on purpose? Accident? Was this even part of the test? Asuma look at the demon, but before he could even finish his reactive yelling.... the Demon winded up his arm. It was clear it was about to swing its fist at Asuma. He looked to the right to the other islands and immediately jumped at one of them. What was weird to Asuma was that he barely escaped. The demon clearly had similar to more speed than Asuma, but he couldn't determine that for sure. Asuma landed on the next little island and had a plan already thought up.

Asuma needed to clear his thoughts and figure out what was going on. However, he couldn't stop time and it was clear that the demon would continue to hit the platforms until he would fall to his death. There were also limited platforms as well. All of these well noted by Asuma. He looked at the demon, it was only a matter of seconds before the demon would attack again. Asuma was ready for the next attack and to jump to the next platform. However, he wanted to test a theory in order to add some time and provide himself with a counter to this monster. Asuma weaved his hand signs and then shouted at the top of his lungs at the monster. "I WAS TOLD THAT DEMONS WERE REAL ONLY WHEN PIGS FLY!!!!!" Asuma could tell that the demon had ears and eyes, but he wanted to make sure that the demon was able to use its main senses AND that it was susceptible to genjutsu.

Once the hand signs were weaved and Asuma yelled, it was only a few seconds. However, after he finished all of that the got into a somewhat crouched position and readied himself to jump to the next platform if the demon would attack again.

A rather simple genjutsu that is put into place when the user says a statement ending in "When Pigs Fly". Seconds later, anyone who hears the user say that will see several pigs with full hawk wings fly past, just a few feet above the user and the victim’s head, serving as a somewhat confusing distraction.

Asume would move just in time as the large, heavy fist of the lava spirit came crashing down onto the small island of safety smashing it into small chunks that were swallowed up by the surrounding lava removing one island. Now only five small pieces of solid rock remained on the surface of the small lava lake. A twisted smile was upon the demon’s lava rock face as its eyes seemed to glow orange from the lava contained within its elemental body now, turning to face the direction which its prey had fled off to. Seeming in no real hurry as if it was savoring the fun that it was about to have with the human. “Come back here little kid, let's play.” Laughing as he spoke the creature as he turned only to be met with the powerful yell of the chuunin now.

“What are you babbling about?” Shaking its head the creature responded before drawing back its fist once again as he prepared to once more assault either the shinobi or the stone platform upon which he was standing. But just as he was about to take a step forward several pigs with large hawk like wings flew right by him cause for even the spirit who’d seen a number of things, it was created from a body of lava after all, to pause and follow the flock of flying pigs that flew overhead now. Completely losing focus on what he had been doing leaving himself open to an attack for a few seconds. Could Asuma take the initiative to seize the opening to do something about the spirit or the realm he was trapped within?

Something was odd about this place, but Asuma couldn't put a finger on it. What was this odd feeling he had. With little time to think, he noticed the creature get distracted by the genjutsu. This test allowed Asuma to know that it was rather vulnerable to Genjutsu, or at least unfamiliar. This was the time to act! Asuma only needed a couple of seconds to jump towards the monster while focusing his chakra. Within a few seconds he was able to place himself into Form 1. Asuma had a strategy that required him to be in his first genma form. He liked to take advantage of the eye color change and brightness to place people in genjutsu's. The second he transformed in mid air, he also was working on dissipating the pigs fly jutsu while weaving a whole new set of hand signs.

Asuma was flying directly towards the monster's face. He was done with the hand signs just in time. The monster was still looking up and Asuma needed its attention in order to release the genjutsu on him. Right before he would hit the monster's head he yelled "HEY UGLY!!" By the time Asuma would yell that, the monster would only have enough time to turn its head. If the monster did so, Asuma would attempt to slam his feet against its forehead, but angle his body down to the ground. He did this in order to make eye contact with the monster. If eye contact was met then the jutsu would activate.

Asuma would dissipate his form 1 and land on the closest platform. However, if the jutsu activated then a brighter form 1 version of Asuma would have bright white wings and be flying a couple of meters from the monster. As much as the monster would swing or try to hit the fake Asuma, he would be destined to always miss. The fake Asuma would laugh and dodge all of the creatures attacks. This illusion would hopefully cause the monster to get frustrated and keep focus on the fake Asuma.

If this all went according to plan, this would give Asuma a little bit of time to figure out where he was and what was going on.
Jutsu UsedShow
*[Genjutsu • Demonic Illusion • Hell Viewing]
C-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
This is a genjutsu technique that causes its target to see a horrifying vision. The ninja will perform some hand seals and make eye contact with the target. Once cast, the world will appear normal to the target until they see the illusion. The illusion is at the discretion of the user. However, they can only make a stationary image, or a visual loop, not a controllable visual illusion. Examples would be a decapitated head on a table, or one of their friends running in circles on fire. This illusions may only last up to 4 posts, or until the user ends the jutsu themselves. As a note, this only effects sight.

“Ugly?!” The words from the young man drew the attention which had been previously diverted by the ‘flying pigs’ back onto the young Suna shinobi now, its brows narrowing and its rocky lips twisting into an ugly expression upon its lava rock face that was raven in color. But it's unhappy face turned quickly into one of surprise to find that the chuunin had launched himself towards him now and found a pair of feet coming right down onto its face. The force of the impact was enough to knock the large creature’s block lik head backwards and in turn caused for him to fall backwards off the small piece of land he had been standing upon and straight back into the lava. Unfortunately the boy’s feet were in the path between them preventing the eye contact he had hoped to achieve in order to activate the genjutsu now as the creature was completely submerged into the lava.

It would take a few seconds for the creature to recover from the blow as it sank deeper into the pool of lava, anger was apparent on the beast’s face now as its head snapped back forward into its proper place and it turned its body upright. The time it took the beast to recover would be around five to ten seconds now as it slammed its hands together and pushed them towards the surface activating a lava wave technique. From the area where the creature had fallen a sudden burst of lava would occur in which a ten meter wide, five meter tall wave of lava was created moving at a speed and strength of five now, it just so happened to be aimed in the direction of the young ninja. As the wave would wash forwards the lava construct would leap out of the lava just behind the wave now and appeared to be a standing atop of the wave of lava, as though he was a surfer, eyes constantly searching for the child.

He planned to crush this foolish human, upset that he had made a mockery of him with that last technique which must have been some form of illusion, he’d heard that humans used tricks like this to defeat each other. The white haired man just on the other side of the barrier turned from where he had been working, exhaling slowly as he didn’t feel that he was making any headway with the strange artifact left over from the mysterious Juu countryman. Taking a break from the relic now he turned towards the maroon barrier about five meters away from him, the side closest to him, his own eyes seeming to take on a maroon tint that stood out from their normal bright crystal blue hue now. His gaze was a deep one as he watched the events that were unfolding within the barrier between his student and the lava spirit now, the spirit haven been chosen specifically because he believed that it would be able to push the body to reveal what progress he’d made since the man returned from Fur country.

‘That must be the first form…” A hint of a smile began to form on the thin lips of Zao’s lightly tanned face now, his student was making great progress it would seem, and on his own no less. After all the man as a teacher or mentor could only help guide the student and answer some questions but everything else would be left up to host himself to learn and discover along the way. “I’ll let them continue for a little bit longer before I end the realm technique.”

Post by Texas » Tue Jan 22, 2019 11:39 am

Asuma noticed something when he was in his first form. He felt a presence very similar to when he was in the desert with Zao. Earlier when he was in his first form he felt not only the presence of the demon, but he could feel the spiritual energy all around him. Asuma knew what he had to do.... he had to break past the limit that Zao might think Asuma had. He smiled as he landed on the rock platform. Although his genjutsu clearly didn't work, he knew that there was potentially one other way to end this nightmare. 'Time to impress Zao' Asuma thought as he watched lava come flying towards him. Asuma used the few seconds he had to jump to another platform. However, while in mid-air he focused on himself with his eyes closed completely. Time almost stopped and he spoke with his Genma that was trapped inside him.

"Janesisu I need to try to get into the form we broke through with training. It will allow me to be slightly faster and more combat smart. I would be capable to find out where Zao is too. I could potentially sense the caster of this jutsu." Asuma continued to speak in darkness. It didn't seem Janesisu was anywhere within him. It took what seemed like a minute before he heard her speak. "Do you remember what happened last time darling?" She asked in her typical flirtatious tone. "You wouldn't last too long and you could potentially lose consciousness. If you lose yourself in an area like this it could mean death... for both of us." Janesisu, made it clear that her intentions were to keep both of them alive at this point. However, Asuma knew that he could lasts a little bit in the third form. "I can last just long enough to pinpoint Zao and end whatever realm we are in. The demon has to be a distraction from what's going on here. This whole thing just doesn't make sense." Janesisu made sure to give her final thoughts. "Asuma hun, if you do end up doing this.... do not die." Her flirtatious tone changed pretty quickly. Asuma smiled at her in their own realm and simply said: "I got this."

What felt like a few minutes within Asuma's mind, was only a mere few seconds. It didn't take long for Asuma to change into the first form again. His white chakra flowed around him and as he landed on the ground, he opened his eyes and released more of Janesisu's chakra as it molded around him. The chakra itself manifested into a shinier and brighter version. It was clear that Asuma was in form 2. Then with great focus, it took a little extra time to mold the chakra into form 3. Asuma had some faith that he would have enough time to fully transform. If it was successful, the chakra would form around him. His eyes would brighten, his mouth was now bright with light, the chakra formed into a ribbon around his arms. He was fully in form 3.

Asuma would not hesitate either. Once in the form he would quickly move out of anticipation for an attack. Asuma was faster and slightly more brighter than he was. It was important that he didn't waste any time! He used the power he had obtained and focused it on the area completely. He did this by focusing on the spiritual energy around the whole entire area. He would attempt to see if there was someone outside of the spiritual area and the location. By focusing his spiritual energy he had hopes in figuring out exactly what he was in.

Dodged again…’ The nimbleness of the chuunin was beginning to irritate the lava spirit as the wave crashed down upon the platform where the young man had previously standing before leaping away just before the molten death wave came crashing down. As the wave continued forward splashing against the barrier wall it didn’t even make the Tenku barrier flex let along tremble, its power was truly to weak to cause such a reaction. The creature itself leaped up and off the wave as it had washed forward landing in some lava as though it was a shinobi standing atop water at this point, then immediately pushed to chase after the young man who was just about to land off to the side where he’d leap towards in order to avoid being smashed by the magma wave.

Though the slow witted spirit hadn’t noticed the brief moment in which Asuma had closed his eyes in which to communicate with the powerful spirit sealed within him, the detailed bright blue eyes of his sensei only smiled as he witnessed the twos chakra interacting within the chuunin. ‘He must be discussing the current situation with Janesisu.’ A faint smile hung on the man’s thin lips as he looked forward to seeing just what else his student was capable of since he’d already demonstrated the first form transformation a few moments earlier. ‘Hmm?!’ Next came a brighter and purer version of the bright white chakra of the spirit contained within the host but it felt more powerful than what he’d seen a few moments ago and it left he man to only assume that this was a new form.

Yet, it didn’t seem to be stopping there as chuunin charged forth and light seemed to almost be exploding from the young man’s body as it was even coming from his eyes and mouth at this point in time. This sudden change caused for the spirit to become cautious as he had been planning to continue charging overhead on but came to a sudden stop about halfway having to shield his eyes against the light? “What the hell is going on with this kid?” Gritting his teeth the lava spirit felt that if he continued to let the boy charge up this strange, bright chakra then he’d really be in a dangerous position. The boy’s sudden movement caught the spirit by surprise once more as he’d become noticeably faster than a few moments ago, something that would most likely be attributed to this strange new chakra and form.

As Asuma let his spiritual energy spread out he would quickly discover that the chakra was having trouble passing through the Tenku barrier that made up the box of the realm summoning technique, the spiritual energy seemed comparable to the lava realm it was created from. The spirit would give chase but wouldn’t be able to catch the young chuunin for the time being due to the difference in their current speeds. While on the outside the man’s bright eyes couldn’t help but widen a little at the events unfolding within it, “This is the third form of the genma? Impressive, impressive.” Zao praised the young student of his and planned to cancel the spirit barrier but paused, wanting to see just what he was capable of doing in this form. He’d allow a few moments to observe before he’d then continue with the hand seal to end the technique.

"Remember this form is still new..." Janesisu said. Asuma simply responded with "I know." She continued with the warning: "Last time you got rather aggressive. You seemed to enter into a love me or die mentality." Asuma couldn't help but struggle to say: "I know." Asuma looked up at the spirit and smiled as it almost looked slightly confused. The purpose of going into the third form was to be able to sense a way out... however, Asuma's mental state slightly changed. He couldn't help but taunt the spirit further. "It seems you don't like me for some reason... Why is that?" Asuma wasn't acting 100% like himself. As he spoke to the monster he weaved a string of hand signs and activated a jutsu. Asuma then took out his blade with his right hand.

"I'm done avoiding your attacks!" Asuma planted his feet and exploded forward at the monster with his blade still in his right hand. Deception was Asuma's main plan now. He shouted while in mid air: "I hope you can avoid my shadow explosion technique!" Right as he said that and felt he was close enough to the demon, Asuma snapped his left fingers. If the monster heard the snap, then he would hear a giant explosion behind him. Asuma has his blade ready, but his mind more ready. At this point if the monster gave in to the bait and let himself be distracted, then he would end up with a blade attempted to be stabbed at him. If not, then Asuma would be prepared to try to maneuver around any counter the demon would have in store.

The user will do a series of hand seals, then within the next post, snap their fingers. Anyone who hears the snapping will hear an explosion in the distance behind them. This works as an effective distraction, or a scare tactic, if properly utilized.

[PB] Something Unexpected

Post by Zao » Wed Jan 23, 2019 9:22 pm

The chuunin’s teacher continued to watch from outside the barrier, even facing it fully now and walking closer to observe the young man’s fighting ability along with his tactical thinking in this current situation. “My young student does like to talk, but it's just part of his style, I suppose.” A light chuckle once more escaped Zao’s lips as he folded one thin arm over the other as the rose bud head of his little spirit plant Hana wiggled its way from within the wide sleeve to watch as well. “This kid is pretty strong, eh?” Though the space-time user didn’t respond outloud to his little spirit pet he did nod as he continued to watch things unfold.

Back within the realm summoning barrier the creature had managed to adjust to brightness given off by this new form released by Asume, its hands still up though protecting its face incase of a surprise attack from the human when he was spoken toby his foe. “Humans are all despicable scum that should be eliminated on sight!” Just from the short words and the hate filled tone of voice one could make the assumption that for one reason or another the lava spirit viewed the human race as very despicable creatures. “Just die!” With only a brief pause between its words to Asuma now the creature drew back its right first and went to charge head on as the human spoke of facing it head on.

This was his chance to take care of the little brat in one fell swoop as his body was an elemental one and was able to take much more damage than a normal human could, he thus felt confident in fight at close range. Yet, he was unprepared for the explosion which caused him to flinch and hesitate for only a moment. But it was only a moment that the man’s student needed to deliver a powerful stab that would sink the blade up to the hilt if he didn’t stop it before. “That’s enough for now.” Zao on the outside couldn’t help but smile proudly at the advanced in not only his tactics but also in how well the boy had been able to manifest and control the spirit’s chakra.

With a single hand the slender fingers made a hand seal and just as the blade plunged into the lava body of the spirit everything would instantly disappear, almost like the boy had been trapped in an illusion if he didn’t know any better. But due to Asuma’s spiritual sense he would be able to tell the realm summoning technique apart from an illusionary one. Clapping could be heard as the two tattoo covered hands and fingers came together a few time showing his approve of the young man now as he spoke. “It hasn’t been that long since I left and went to the Fur country festival but in that time you’ve already matured and grown so much my young student. Even your control over your genma has improved by leaps and bounds.”

There was a smile on the white haired scholar’s face as he spoke words of praise towards Asuma now, the room was decently lit but it would still appear a bit dark at first after being in the much bright lava realm from a few moments before. As things would come into view more clearly the chuunin would be able to make out the book and parchment littered room that was probably thirty meters by thirty meters in size and had numerous bookshelves and work tables around the wall. But without a doubt the most eye catching thin was a the ten meter wide, circular platform that was about a meter thick, the aged stone held numerous complex fuuin diagrams upon it that were unlike any most people had seen.

This was because it was created by a man from at least a handful of centuries ago, that mysterious man was of great interest to the spirit enthusiast as it had been him who had saved Nori and Zao from the spirit realm trials. In the very center of the platform was a meter tall pedestal that was a mini column with a hand imprint upon it if one was to inspect it closely. This was truly an artifact with such mysterious origins...Zao was currently attempting to discover just what secrets were contained within its strange fuuin and the materials used in its creation..

[PB] Something Unexpected

It seemed to be a blink of an eye and Asuma was standing in a room with his blade hanging out as if he was stabbing air. Asuma straightened his posture and looked around the room as he placed his sword back in his sheath. Asuma could feel his energy draining and without hesitation, he dissipated his third form. He looked at Zao as he spoke. The man was clapping. If Asuma wasn't in his genma form... he would of thought the whole thing was an illusion. Asuma looked at the man and couldn't help but have extreme respect for him. How powerful was he? What was his true limit? All questions Asuma had after being in another dimension with a demon... only for it to end within a few hand seals.

Asuma smiled at Zao's comment. "Well I can feel myself progressing, I know with a little bit more training... I can get to the next level." He clenched his fist in a dramatic tone. Asuma couldn't help but look at all of the old scripts and writings on the wall. After a quick moment of looking around, he asked Zao a question in a confused tone: "Hey Sensei, why do you have all this old stuff in your basement?" At this point Asuma completely forget the reason he had came and got heavily distracted by the vibe that was being given by the basement.

All while this was happening Asuma could feel a bit of fatigue in his body. The third form was still slightly new to him and it drained his energy rather fast. He wasn't fully used to it and often times his personality changes because of it. Asuma finds that when he doesn't have full control over a form, Janesisu's chakra heavily influences his behavior. This is something he would like to ask Zao and his face showed he had a concerning question to ask.

[PB] Something Unexpected

Post by Zao » Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:50 pm

I must agree, you’re progress is truly impressive my young student.” The white haired man spoke out and smiled as he finished speaking to Asuma’s words, pondering on just what it meant for the genma host to advance to a new level. ‘Asuma must feel that he’s reaching the next bottle neck in his mastery over the spirit’s chakra. It almost feels as though he’s advancing a bit to fast. Is this from his own personal skill or the help of the female trickster…’ There was a slight bit of worry concealed within the bright blue eyes of the smiling man as he listened to his student now, as an experienced Tenku user the man had seen those who thought that they were in control of a spirit be overcome and even seen them suffer the worst of punishments: death. This was definitely not something that he’d allow to happen to his first student, he’d need to more closely monitor the boy’s progress as he gained more and more control of the genma’s chakra and the spirit’s interaction with her host.

Oh that?” Seeing the chuunin’s eyes wander across the junk filled basement of his, the man couldn’t help but let out a little bit of a chuckle as he turned to also survey the scene of scattered texts and various artifacts ranging from those that fit within one hand to the massive circular platform that held a certain ancientness about it. “These are all things that I’ve gathered through my time adventuring through out various places around our world and others.” Pausing for a moment he would continue to speak pointing out various things and naming what they were and where they’d been found until he came onto the teleporter platform. “Though this is the oldest and most mysterious things I’ve ever come across to date. It is actually older than even the village’s and is able to interact with Space-Time to traverse realms, it nearly got my friend and I killed in the spirit realms. Though some of those that had been traveling with us were not so lucky….

The white robed scholar’s words trailed off a bit, a hint of sadness visible within his eyes and even briefly upon his facial expressions but only for a moment. As suddenly as it had appeared it would fade as though it had never been there in the first place, if one hadn’t been looking at Zao during that moment they wouldn’t even notice. “But don’t worry, it’s safe now. For some reason it seemed to have a certain charm to other spirits, as well.” The blue eyed jounin’s last comment was directed towards the fact that both his golden thorn vine spirit pet and his desert rose spirit pet were curled up on the stone platform near the center pedestal. Though it appeared to be damp and cold looking stone when one actually touched the polished looking stone they would find ti was actually warm to the touch and gave out an almost soothing feeling.

He casually walked over to it and allowed for his slender fingertips to touch the edge of the platform as he turned his head to look back at his young friend now, “I’ve been attempting to decipher the mysteries contained within this platform. Though even the fuuin diagrams that were used to create it are far above even my skill level in the are of Fuuinjutsu. But while I don’t understand them yet they have helped for me to increase my own skill and knowledge in the art.” A faint sigh could be heard, the mysterious figures that once lived within Juu were truly above even his own level, what a scary thought it was to think how things would be if they still resided within the country of Juu today.

[PB] Something Unexpected

Post by Texas » Tue Jan 29, 2019 10:25 am

Asuma looked at everything Zao was pointing at. He viewed everything as something cool. He had excitement in his eyes as he looked at every last artifact. However, there was a momentary pause and a different tone in Zao's voice which reactively had Asuma look at him. He saw a hint of sadness but it was brushed away quicker than it was even present. "Clearly something happened to obtain this Asuma, show some compassion towards your 'Sensei'" Janesisu noted to Asuma. Asuma looked at the artifact. He figured that Zao would probably rather Asuma pretend like he saw nothing than console him. Since he had clearly come to terms with what happened even though it was a sad point in his life.

The artifact looked weird to Asuma. He didn't fully understand any of this fuin nonsense but he was known for being vocal. "Pshh it's too bad you can't find who made it. If you can't even figure it out, I bet there must be an older spirit who might know more than you and could help. But that's a stretch since you are the smartest guy I've met and you probably already thought of something like that." Asuma spoke honest and innocently; it can come as sounding genuine or sounding inappropriate. Asuma went from looking at the artifact to looking at Zao before speaking again. "Maybe that's why spirits are attracted to it." He smiled at Zao trying to help but in the grand scheme of things Asuma thought Zao knew all of this... so maybe just by giving a fresh perspective would allow Zao to come up with a new idea. "Maybe there is a reason why your 'Sensei' can't decipher it.." Janesisu pointed out to Asuma.

[PB] Something Unexpected

Post by Zao » Tue Jan 29, 2019 5:58 pm

Heh” The chuunin’s words couldn’t help but lighten the man’s mood, even causing for a small chuckle to escape Zao’s thin lips now as he turned back to look at the genma host. ‘This kid, he’s a special one.’ Shaking his head lightly the slender fingers of the left hand rose up to lightly scratch the side of his head through the long locks of snow white hair as he thought about what Asuma had said. It was true that the man had been perplexed over this platform and not only its creation in general but the amount of skill and knowledge that went into the unique craftsmanship of it. In the matter’s of spirits and ninjutsu the man did believe himself to be well versed in the knowledge of those areas but even this was beyond him. “Well, your master has some skill and knowledge but there is quite a number of people much smarter than me out there.

In the end he gave a dismissing wave towards his young friend now as he directed his attention back onto the platform as he could only quietly shake his head to himself now before glancing back to the young man. “Feel free to wander around for a bit, I just need to finish taking down a few notes about the platform then you can tell me more about what you’ve been doing since we last spoke before the Fur country festival.” Zao had a general interest in just what Asuma had been doing in terms of training for his mastery over the spirit’s power to increase this quickly, perhaps there was even something for him to learn as well since the scholarly man had never had much interaction with genma level spirits. In turn this was also a learning experience for him as well now as he attempted to mentor and guide the fellow shinobi in his progress, in the end creating a powerful weapon to protect the village.

His thoughts were drawn back to the creator of the mysterious platform and the single time that Nori and himself had managed to encounter the legendary figure. The feeling that he had at that point in time when standing before this stranger was though he was a single leave within a wind storm, completely outclassed and overwhelmed in all aspects. Yet, one needed to keep in mind that this unknown man or being had been documented as far back as five centuries ago, but who truly knew how long this figure had been around. Moving back to the nearest edge of the platform the man retrieved a small notebook that had been resting upon that edge and then took a step up onto the stone platform moving to the center of the platform to inspect the operating pedestal.

While Zao had become momentarily lost in his thoughts and had continued with his inspection of the spirit realm platform, both the chuunin and his spirit would find a strange, unknown attraction towards the old relic before them. It was almost like a instinctual connection on a level that would be beyond their current understanding. Almost as though there was a connection between his genma and this structure and quite possibly even the creator of this strange teleporter.

Asuma looked at Zao with a smile as he rested both hands on his hips and pointed his elbows outward. It took only a short time to move his attention to the relic that Zao was so fixated on. Asuma did not fully understand what purpose the relic had, but he did start to feel a drawing to it. Before he could turn back to Zao it seemed that time started to slow down and with one blink, Asuma was in the Genma realm with Janesisu. "I know you can't sense it now, but there is something.... familiar about that artifiact. Do you feel it Asuma?" Asuma looked at Janesisu. "I don't feel it... what's wrong with it?" Janesisu gave a minor sigh, then tried to explain to him. "There is something about that artifact that gives me chills. It is very familiar but it looks very old, so it could be something from the far past. Try giving it a closer look." Once she finished talking Asuma found himself right in front of the relic.

Asuma's eyes examined the relic as he slowly starting inching his way towards it. Asuma knew that he couldn't see anything the way he was, he had to change. There was only one way for that. Asuma started to focus his chakra and mold it with Janesisu's chakra. Within a few seconds he changed himself into his first form. The white chakra began to radiate from his body. His eyes began to change colors and with the merge of chakras, Asuma walked even closer to the relic. "Do you feel it now Asuma?" Janesisu said to him. He said out loud and to her, "Yes, I feel something... different." Asuma's voice would be heard by Zao.

The feeling of connectivity was oozing from the relic. Asuma walked close enough now to be able to touch it. Before he touched the relic, he said out loud to Zao, even though he back was to him: "There was something about this Relic that didn't sit right with Janesisu. I wonder what this thing is exactly." With that last word, he placed his hand on the relic in a soft and slow manor. It was within that moment something happened......

Post by Zao » Sat Feb 23, 2019 9:25 pm

Of course Zao had no idea that their was any type of relationship between the young genma host and the old relic, but he was able to Asuma speaking out loud now to his genma about feeling something different. ‘Something different?’ These words even caused for the man to lift the pen tip from the worn looking notebook as he paused writing mid sentence now, slightly confused at the words that his young student had just spoken. They didn’t feel as though they were meant for him and instead it was as though the chuunin was speaking aloud to the spirit sealed within them, but just what did they mean? “Something?” The scholarly looking man couldn’t help but furrow his thin eyebrows at the mention of something not sitting right with Janesisu. It was true that the most powerful spirits, the genma, were older than even the first shinobi and that it was possible that they could even recall their memories of those times.

Knowing that this artifact had been created hundreds of years ago by a member of the mysterious Juu no Kuni and yet could somehow also have a strange attraction to the genma caused for Zao to be momentarily lost in thought as to what implications this brought along. And yet it hadn’t even registered that the shinobi a few meters away from him had reached up to place his hand gently upon the smooth surface of the relic. As he did a warmth would be felt within the skin of the hand which he used to touch the teleporter, something that shouldn’t have been the case as a stone should have been at least cool in this type of environment. But the spirit within him would suddenly have a sense of danger wash over her as the teleporter began to draw at her special chakra now and even Asuma would find that he didn’t have the strength to remove his hand from the stone surface.

A strange and unseen attractive force had locked onto the hand and almost instantly the entire structure began to light up with complicated runes that glowed with the unique white chakra that was a trademark of the spirit sealed within the chuunin. There was only one thought that leaped into the racing mind of the blue eyed man in that moment as he immediately came back to his senses after seeing the brilliant snow colored runes forming across the relic. It was just like what had happened when he’d channeled his space-time chakra into the platform on that day only he wasn’t doing this and the chakra wasn’t the same color. “Fuck!” The curse word was spoken out loud now as he knew extremely well what could happen and with that his eyes shifted instantly onto the youth off to his side. “Step away, quickly!” He called out at the same time that he moved in order to help remove the genma from what could potentially be a rather dangerous situation but to his surprise it was not to be.

As the man would reach out to grab the chuunin by the outstretched arm in order to remove him from contact with the old relic he would find that an invisible pressure pushed back before he could move within half a meter of the shinobi. “What is this!” And with that the young man, Asuma, would find himself covered with flickering distortions of space and time now before a sudden feeling of movement would suddenly wash over him. This would be similar to that which he’d experienced when traveling through space with Zao but on a more intense level as the distance was much further away. From the jounin’s perspective he blinked and the genma host disappeared, tossed through space just like his group had been on that day. Then the platform itself began to grow dim and after a few seconds everything would return to normal as though nothing had even happened as the white haired man stood their wide eyed and mouth left half open.

How could this have happened?!” He was yelling to himself in the basement research laboratory as he closed his eyes tightly, trying to think of his next action as his student had somehow been dragged through space by the platform. The special white chakra that had activated the platform had to almost certainly belong to the spirit sealed within the young shinobi, but why had it caused this sort of reaction to occur? There was nothing that he could determine as to why the event had occurred only that he needed to find his student and travel to him as he had no idea if the boy had been sent to the same realm that they had been that time or some place completely different. Droplets of a nervous sweat had already broken out upon the man’s lightly tanned forehead as he immediately sat down in the lotus position and formed a hand seal to help him concentrate.

After their training in the desert that day the traveler had given his young companion an intricate bracelet, but it was more than just a small gift it was actually a special piece of space-time jewelry crafted by the powerful space-time user himself. It not only allowed for his student to call upon him in a time of need or communicate danger but it also allowed for the shinobi to sense its location and even teleport to him if needed. As he attempted to lock onto the bracelet and its location he could only frown as it was moving at such speed and the distance was only increasing as it did so. Even though he wished to jump to his location the speed at which he was moving through space made it almost impossible to do anything before the wearer had arrived at their destination.

From Asuma’s prospective things would have went black after the initial feeling of motion washed over him but his senses would return to him after some time and he would find himself within spacial tunnel that caused for everything outside of it to pass by in a blur. Most likely the only thing he could tell was that he was being propelled along at a tremendous speed, this would last for what felt like nearly an hour before there would appear a light at the end of the tunnel. Woosh! Next he would enter into a rather hot and muggy environment as the feeling of falling could be sensed, the fall was a short distance of only a few meters but he fell in something warm and wet. As his senses fully recovered he found find himself in a strange blue liquid but what was most surprising or frightening would be the fact that when he followed the strange, sticky liquid back to its source a short distance away behind him he would discover something unexpected.

The environment itself seemed to be not like anything he’d seen before in the human realm, with strange plant life and weird bugs as big as a persons head flying about, but even all that would fail in comparison to what laid behind him. The source of the blue liquid was a twenty meter long azura scaled dragon with white fur and whiskers that was laying upon its side as the blue liquid was actually blood that was seeping through its wounds. One of its large eyes half opened to see the child before him only five or six meters away, that sound of his fall drawing his attention as the look on his face was one of regret stemming back from his rash actions of challenging the clan’s current leader only to fail so miserably. ‘A human kid?

Panic. Fear. Asuma couldn't move. The relic was doing more than drawing him in... it was sucking him in. Once Asuma's and Janesisu's chakra met the relic, it was as if the relic had caught the two. Asuma could barely turn his head, but he heard Zao try to have him step away. Barely able to speak he yelled... "I....... CAN'T!" The last thing Asuma heard before completely disappearing was Zao say "Fuck".

The Void, it felt as though he was bring pulled into one flowing direction. He couldn't see a single thing. In a panic, Asuma tried using his bracelet that Zao had given him. However, for some reason it did nothing but look fashionable. 'Janesisu? What's going on?' Asuma asked for the guidance of his spirit. 'My Darling, this is something that is foreign and familiar at the same time. I am sorry I am of no help.' Asuma could not figure out what was going on. Everything was rushing and it was mostly a blur. Almost an hour in, Asuma became rather bored. He kept wondering when this would end. 'Do you think this is an endless loop? I would get so bored being trapped like this forever' he told his spirit. 'Keep your mind sharp! I can sense this ending very soon.' It took no more than a few minutes after Janesisu's comment before a large light would appear. Asuma saw the light and had heard about this before. His last though before entering the light was: 'Am I dead?'

Asuma's body was flung forward and he felt himself fall a very short distance. He landed in something wet. His eyes took a second to adjust, but all he could feel was the heat of the air and the wetness around him. When his eyes finally adjusted, he looked at what he fell in. "Blue liquid?" He said out loud accidentally. He got up from the tiny puddle and looked around the area. It was nothing he was used to. Asuma had suspicions about this place, but based on the tingling he felt.... he knew he was in some sort of spirit realm.

The boy looked down at his clothes, but then directed his attention towards the liquid. There seemed to be a minor stream, low flowing, but nonetheless a stream. He decided to follow where the source was coming from. Maybe he could find someone that could help. As he turned the corner he started to think for a few seconds. 'Maybe if I find someone I..... can.... m---.' Before Asuma could even finish his thought, he stumbled in front of a large blue dragon. This liquid's source was confirmed, but Asuma was stunned when he saw what was before him. 'Could this be?'
