Amaya was in her room, laying on her bed and staring at the ceiling. She had spent a good part of the day training, her room having books and scrolls strewn about. Many of them were open and she had spent a great deal time pouring over them as she would gather her chakra over and over again. It hadn't been easy, studying anything she could find on the body genma, as well as information on any jutsu that dealt with transformation. It had taken time for her to find it, and so it'd been about a week since she had last seen Shinjiro. Fights with her brother came and went as they always did, but the subject of the Karagata had barely been brought up since that first day. Laying on her bed she smirked as a thought crossed her mind and she saw the cloak that currently hung on the back of the door of her room. She replayed in her head the way she had horrified her brother, not even hearing the knock at the front door or Kouta answering the door. Her thoughts were only interrupted as the door to her bedroom swung open and Kouta stood in the gap of it. "Someone's here to see you, he didn't give me a name but said you have his cloak?" Kouta asked, clearly confused. His confusion certainly didn't clear up a smirk crossed Amaya's lips

"Thank you, Kouta. I'll be out in a minute." she replied, waiting until the slave left before smiling to herself and allowing the chakra to gather around her with a deep breath. When that breath let out the chakra left behind Amaya in the form of a full grown cheetah. She looked nearly identical to the wild animal version, save for the crimson red that was her paw's pads, and claws. She nudged the door back open and padded out of it, trotting down the small hallway to see where Kouta might have left Shinjiro waiting.

Perhaps surprisingly, Shinjiro hadn’t thought about Amaya much in the week that passed since their encounter. He was adept at setting aside distractions and disconnecting his emotions from his training and day to day life. He still had much he needed to accomplish, honing his swordsmanship, developing new kaerujutsu techniques and keeping up with the demands of maintaining his exceptional physical prowess. Though he was still a Special Jounin his skills easily surpassed that of the vast majority of the Jounin in the village. It was entirely possible he could even defeat the other members of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist if it came down to it. Currently there were only 4 in total including himself. They would need to continue to fill the ranks though the leader of the organization Jouchaku Chiane remained as elusive as ever. He had yet to select a dagger to serve under him, briefly considering enlisting Yuuto despite him being personally rejected by Chiane. Ultimately however he was not someone easily impressed, and he couldn’t bring himself to take his cousin under his charge until he was strong enough to prove without a doubt that he was worthy.

There was also Ryu to consider, though from what he had heard upon looking into the twins the son of Ryoga was not yet anything remarkable. Both he and Amaya mere Genin, with some indication of potential to be sure but nothing outstanding. Still, he found that he desired the twins to become strong. The red-haired girl interested him, he had enjoyed her company even if it was out of his element and he wanted a reason to spend more time around her. As a famous and powerful shinobi however it was beneath him to associate with anyone weak and low ranking without good reason. If they became important figures in the village as well then surely their paths would intertwine naturally, and he wouldn’t have to continue to make such flimsy excuses such as retrieving his cloak. Approaching their place of dwelling, Shinji wore his grey sleek trench coat style jacket with green trim. On the left shoulder he wore his hitae-ate and on the right was a patch of the kraken, the symbol of the Karagata family. Furthermore, his membership as one of the Seven was displayed by the organizations symbol on the right side of his chest. Beneath the jacket he wore a simple form fitting black shirt, black pants as well as combat boots. Tying together his attire were his gloves, hood and half-mask which were all made of a grey-brown fabric trimmed with green. Lastly were the twin katana’s, slightly shorter than standard that formed an X across his back.

Sighing lightly, he second guessed himself for a moment, wondering why he had bothered showing up after all. For the cloak of course, though there wasn’t anything special about it really, just an average thick brown cloak with a silver clasp at the neck. Steeling himself he knocked on the door, convincing himself that he wasn’t at all nervous to see the girl who had kissed him once more. Naturally it was their slave that answered the door and Shinji would keep the instruction brief, that he was here for his cloak and that he should inform Kazuki Amaya of that. Being led inside he would stand at the entryway, tilting his head in mild confusion as a Cheetah soon emerged from a room and walked over toward the entryway. This species of feline was not native to Kirigakure though it wasn’t unheard of to import exotic pets, something like this would be more likely to be found in the open plains, somewhere like Grass Country and perhaps areas of Wind Country. “Well aren’t you an unusual sight” he spoke softly, crouching down as he removed his right glove and held out a hand to greet the animal. He had never cared much for animals before becoming a Jinchuuriki but over the years he had grown to appreciate and respect nature, both the environment and the animals that roamed the world. Animals always seemed to be able to sense Vorashu within him, often they were afraid in the presence of an ultimate predator though other times they would submit though never would they stick around for more than a few hours.

From within his room, Ryu was currently in the process of consuming a meal of fresh goat, the entire creature being devoured bones and all while Hisan manifested around the entirety of his form. Obviously Ryu didn't have it in him to consume meat with the same voracity and tenacity that Hisan did, so he found it best to simply let the creature eat it's fill when the time to feed came. And it usually didn't last very long, Hisan was a very quick and aggressive consumer; the entire goat lasted maybe three minutes. At first the young genin preferred to simply tune it all out, to go somewhere else in his mind while he let Hisan take the reins. But after realizing he didn't want to let Hisan have too much free reign, he learned to power through it and maintain his grip on reality... and eventually he learned to like it a little. The fear in the creature's eyes as Hisan began was becoming less horrific and more... fascinating to the young genin. Their last moments of life were so primal, so instinctual.

After Hisan was done was when he heard Kouta speaking outside his room, talking to Amaya about the boy who was back for his cloak... "Shinjiroooo." He spoke, though it was Hisan who truly spoke the words a deep gurgly growl emanating from his throat. As he approached the door Hisan began to recede, and by the time he opened the door and stepped into the hallway, All Shinjiro would notice was a small bit of red matter receding into Ryu's left arm... and a bit of blood on his face. There was also the fact that his eyes were now much stranger than normal, with red sclerae and pupils, a ring of black iride separating the two reds. As his eyes fell on Shinjiro he was filled with a mixture of frustration and admiration. While the boy had apparently kissed his sister, at the end of the day, his skill and fame were inarguable.

"Karagata Shinjiro... I assume it's your cloak that brings you here? I don't know where my sister is right now but the cloak is hanging up in the living room. I'll get it for you... I don't really want your pet there treading too far into our home." He had no idea where that creature came from, but he had never seen one before in his life. Being the host to the Body genma, he naturally assumed it had something to do with Shinji and his animal magnetism.

Amaya, remaining in the form of the cheetah, walked briskly over to Shinji as he offered a hand out towards her. In the back of her mind she silently wondered if he'd figure it out, or would he have to see her change back just as she never figured out who he was when he was the wolf? The cheetah took the last step to close the gap, nuzzling under the hand roughly and purring at a rather intense volume. It was an aspect even Amaya wasn't used to yet. She admired the animal whose form she could take but aspects where she expected quiet, she found the creature to be quite loud. Her brother came walking out of his room and her head turned to regard him a moment, mentally keeping back a laugh as he quickly assumed she was a pet of Shinji's.

She moved past his hand and brushed up against his leg, walking around him in a circle even as she realized her brother was looking for the cloak in the wrong place. Deciding to have a little fun, she suddenly trotted away from Shinjiro and past her brother. If her brother reached for her, she'd naturally just lower her backside to evade his grip and slip away from him quickly, trotting around the corner and into her room. She knew the two would likely exchange words about her presence, neither realizing who she was in reality. But she had a hunch one or both might suspect as she pulled the cloak down from where it hung in her room and soon reappeared with it, trotting over to Shinjiro and sitting in front of him, waiting for him to take it from her.

As he pet the cheetah, it nuzzling his hand Shinji’s nose perked up, sniffing lightly as he realized he detected the scent of blood. He could feel Vorashu stirring within him, something that excited the Genma though he did not speak, only a haunting chuckle reverberated in Shinji’s mind. Naturally, this put Shinji on edge, there was something unusual about this cheetah but also he was experiencing an ominous feeling emanated from deeper in the house. Another predator. He heard his name, deep and unnerving though as Ryu came into sight Shinji relaxed. A genin was no threat to him, no matter how interesting this presence he carried was. He recalled Amaya mention something had fused within her brother, some sort of creature though the name eluded him. Noting the blood on Ryu’s mouth, Shinji began to salivate as he too craved a fresh kill which he immediately recognized to be the situation. ‘This creature…a true predator, raw and primal. Challenge him, force him to reveal the power he stores within’ Vorashu gleamed, eager to subdue such an interesting specimen. ‘I don’t care what creature he hosts, no Genin is worth taking seriously’ Shinji scoffed, not intimidated in the least by this boy with red and black eyes.

He stood slowly to his full height, refusing to remain in a position that could be associated with deference or meekness. "Am I supposed to know who you are?" he retorted with a bite to his tone. It was imperative that Ryu knew his place. His gaze took on a dangerous look finding some degree of annoyance at being spoken to so casually by a mere Genin that he had never met. Something clicked in his mind however when Ryu mentioned the ‘pet’, glancing down at the large feline that circled his legs he suddenly realized the abnormal red markings as well as the somewhat unusual behaviour. The cheetah had approached him brazenly, relaxed and friendly as if it knew him. No animal had acted quite so familiar with him before, with not even a hint of fear or submissive behaviour. ‘Amaya?’ he considered, remembering now that she had mentioned wanting to learn how to turn into an animal so they could run together. He hadn’t expected her to actually achieve it though let alone in only a week. ‘So you noticed. She’s a crafty one and has good taste’ Vorashu noted, approving of her even more strongly than before. While he despised most humans there were some that he could tolerate and those who strove to be more like animals were seen in a more favorable light. Shinji’s light green eyes lit up as he smirked slightly, getting a mischievous thought that helped dispel his annoyance. “She’s not mine, must have snuck in. I can take her off your hands if you’d like. Keep her as my own” he offered, wondering if Ryu would fall for the ploy. The cheetah would move further into the house and return shortly with his cloak which Shinji would gratefully accept, scratching under the cats chin before throwing the cloak over his shoulders, adjusting it to fit underneath his swords before clasping the buckle around his neck.

Ryu was admittedly off put by Shinjiro's sudden stance, the killer instinct emanating from him as he showed how unimpressed he was by Ryu, a simple genin in the host's eyes. You aren't about to let him punk you like that, are you? In your house? Ryu knew it might not end will but Hisan was right; whatever primal instincts Shinjiro had be damned, this house was his territory and he was the interloper. He refused to back down, puffing out his chest slightly and squaring his shoulders. "Not yet, but give it time and you'll hear my name all over the village. Maybe more than your own." Ryu smirked at the jinchuuriki, knowing full well he could tear him to shreds if he felt so inclined.

But it seemed the random cat would be the interruption that was necessary, though the question of where it came from still puzzled Ryu. "Go ahead, I sure as hell don't want it. Never been an animal person... Sorry if that upsets your 'friend'." He gave a shrug before looking once more for the cloak that belonged to the young Karagata, but he was surprised to see that the cheetah had gone and tracked it down. How strange... did Shinjiro in fact have a way of communicating with animals like that? Whatever, if meant that Shinji would be leaving at least. "Cool, you got your cloak and your pet, I'll let Amaya know you stopped by. You can see yourself out." With the short business concluded he turned to head back towards his room.

After Shinji took the cloak, Amaya plopped on the ground in front of him, semi-sprawled with her tail flicking slowly back and forth, just watching her brother. A small 'huff' escaped her nose as Shinji made his joke and she realized he probably knew exactly who it was. Of course, her brother was so pissed off already that he was entirely clueless. So the cheetah stood up on all fours, flicking her tail back and forth a couple times in front of Shinji before doing a full ass-in-the-air stretch and even smacking him with her tail a couple of times before straightening up. She made her way towards her brother at a playful trot, moving in front of him before suddenly launching at him. Taking him by surprise she fully expected to knock him in the chest and knock him down by her difference in speed alone, plus the element of surprise.

She took a brief moment to snarl in his face, before the swirling of chakra began.

When the chakra swirled away, it would leave Amaya in its wake in her usual outfit, sitting on her brother's chest with a raised eyebrow. "You know, if you didn't get pissed so quickly you would have realized exactly who I was when Shinji did. Is it just me or Hisan making that ego of yours even worse?" she asked, wrinkling up her nose as she stood and offered a hand to help her brother up, speaking to Shinji as she did. "I finally got it figured out late last night, figured I'd show it off a bit. But my brother here didn't even know I had been working on it." she remarked, lifting her head to look at Shinji after her brother was on his feet again, whether he took her hand as help or not.

"I see you found the place okay."

The teenage Karagata completely ignore Ryu’s declaration, focusing instead on the cheetah as he pretended to not even hear the Genin. Idle words and vows meant nothing to him, especially coming from someone who had done absolutely nothing of any repute. The only minor points of interest surrounding him were in regard to the legacy of his father and a mission gone wrong that resulted in something merging with him instead of being exterminated. If in time he was able to prove he was more than just talk then maybe Shinji would begin to acknowledge him. To speak boldly with no ability to defend yourself was a foolish trait though and if they were out in the streets and not in the presence of Amaya he might have decided to punish the kid for his insolence and really find out if he had any grit.

Instead he reveled in outwitting the younger teenager. Though Shinji was only two years older than the twins his presence, experience and skill was astronomically greater. He had earned every bit of respect and praise that the village awarded him. He didn’t feel that he had anything to prove but that didn’t mean there wasn’t a sense of satisfaction in getting under Ryu’s skin. He would give the son of Ryoga only a knowing gaze as he was told he could leave with the cloak and pet. The fool had just given away his sister without even realizing it. If she were a slave that could be enough to warrant a legal transfer of ownership though as a shinobi, even a Genin she had more rights than that. Still, to make such an offer to a person of Shinjiro’s status was not meaningless.

Shinji was abruptly distracted as Amaya presented herself before him, albeit she was in the form of a cheetah the primal teenager found himself oddly aroused at the display. If he were in a compatible animal body or she was to make such a pose in her human form, especially with the same parts exposed he doubted he could resist himself. Control in all aspects was something Shinjiro strived toward though with his own hormones and the influence of Vorashu flowing through his body his sex drive could easily overwhelm him. The only saving grace for his temptation was the fact that he was still a virgin and had yet to fully understand and experience for himself the pleasure in pursuing such carnal desires. His face reddened somewhat, though obscured by his hood and mask. He hardly felt the touch of her tail slaps, instead focusing on keeping his pulse from rising too high. Fortunately, she didn’t tease him for much longer, if that had even been her intent and went on to tackle her brother to the ground before transforming and sitting atop him.

Oddly Shinjiro realized that he was envious of the closeness, even considering that he might enjoy her straddling him. ‘Embrace your desires, claim her as your own and force her sibling into submission’ Vorashu demanded, seeming to enjoy this opportunity to goad Shinji into accepting his animalistic urges. Shinji was even considering it when he realized that Amaya had addressed him. Clearing his throat, the young assassin would attempt to regain his composure. “Naturally. I have many resources at my disposal” he stated simply, keeping an even tone. Smirking slightly, he would regain a darkly playful look, “So, Ryu? Is it? I guess I’ll just be on my way then. With your sister of course, you did say I could keep her right?” he affirmed, rubbing it in a little more as he watched to see how much the kid would try to back his way out of his statement.

By the time the creature cut off his path forward, Ryu's hand instinctively dropped down to his blade's hilt, as the creature was obviously threatening him. However, it moved with such speed that he was hardly able to react, only getting the sword out mid way before the creature crashed into him and slammed the sword back into it's hilt in the process. He now laid on the ground with the creature snarling above him, and for a second he wasn't sure if it would rip out his throat or not. Hisan, the beast within him, was already in the process of manifesting, a tendril preparing to rise up from Ryu's stomach to pierce the beast's chest. But a moment later it was enshrouded in chakra, and as the chakra faded away it was Amaya on his chest now.

Hisan stopped inches from her, the tendril still clearly visible, while Ryu figured out what was going on. "I don't even know what the hell you just were Amaya, let alone that it was you! It's not ego, it's anger! Now get the hell off me!" The young genin yelled at his sister until she finally got off of him, and a moment later more tendrils expanded out from Ryu's back, pushing him upright without the need to take Amaya's hand. It was then that all of the tendrils receded, and Ryu's rage showed clearly in his eyes as he looked back to Shinji, then to Amaya, as Shinjiro made his quip about taking his sister. "So you'd rather mimic your new boyfriend and play tricks on me huh? Go ahead Shinjiro, I don't give a shit anymore. You can have her!"

In a fit of rage Ryu stormed down the hall, not wanting to look at either his sister or that stupid jinchuuriki again. No respect, not even in his own home... Who knew the Body genma host was such a dick?

Amaya rolled her eyes as her brother stormed off and she raised her voice, speaking to both boys. "You know, any other time I'd tell two pissed off boys to put 'em on the table and measure but I really don't need to be scarred for life right now by seeing my brother's junk." she said, clearly frustrated with the whole situation. She turned to yell after her brother. "You need to chill! If you had greeted him normally from the start we wouldn't have this issue! And you!" she rounded and looked towards Shinji. "It wouldn't kill you to be a little nice instead of acting like such a douchebag constantly." What had started as a practical joke, Amaya could see had gone way too far and when she was done yelling at both she suddenly fell quiet, her hand coming up to rest on her forehead.

"Sit down before you pass out, my dear." From around the corner came an elegant looking woman. She wore a a blue dress that went to the floor with flowing sleeps running down her arms. Her black hair was partially pulled up at the back of her head with various beads intertwined in it. Looking at her she might have looked like she was in her 20's at her oldest, an effect of jutsu and abilities she had long since perfected. "If I had known that was what you were borrowing my scrolls for I would have kept you from actually using it just yet. You're a Genin, my dear. Your stamina, your chakra pool, isn't ready to use such a thing with any kind of duration."

"Yes, Baba..." Amaya replied, glancing between her and Shinji before sitting heavily on the couch. She leaned forward, an elbow on her knee and head in her hand as she fought against the darkness encroaching on the edges of her vision. "How long were you standing there?"

"Much longer than you wish I had been." Baba replied, turning her attention to Shinjiro. "I am Kazuki Yoshiko, and you are in my home. I know who you are, and I know you are well known out there in the village but this..." The woman held up a hand in front of her in a strangely gentle fashion as she started channeling chakra that quickly turned a shade of maroon. "This is my home, and you will show a modicum of respect to those who reside here. Do we have an understanding?" She asked, waiting quietly for a response before continuing. "Now my grand-daughter seems to fancy you, so you're welcome to stay. I'll have the slaves fix up a few things, but I ask that you try not to goad her brother further." She turned her head down the hallway, but didn't yell after Ryu, instead with a flick of her fingers and a focus of chakra, they were certain hear a crash and a few swears shortly.

The teenage Jinchuuriki assessed the speed of both Amaya and Ryu. For a Genin and at least in her cheetah form Amaya was more promising than he had expected whereas Ryu’s reaction time was severely lacking though his form and movement was not terrible. Still, it seemed his greatest potential for usefulness relied on that creature inside of him, the red formations not going unnoticed. If only he could control his temper, he might be a competent swordsman. Whether or not he and Shinji would ever get along was something else entirely, naturally, the Jinchuuriki clashed with bold males, deferring to those who had proven themselves superior to him in skill or status and having very little tolerance for those beneath him. He smirked arrogantly as Ryu conceded, if he couldn’t put the kid in his place with force then he could at least enjoy the satisfaction of claiming his sister.

Shinji reigned his expression in to a more neutral one as Amaya addressed him, though his posturing and bold eyes still gave off an air of smugness. He exhaled sharply at the thought of comparing dick sizes with Ryu, that was a contest he was sure he would win. Both being naturally well endowed and having the power to make partial transformations to himself he could be quite literally as hung as a horse if he so desired. No man could compete with that. “Fine by me” he muttered, realizing that perhaps he shouldn’t push his luck but not quite being able to refrain himself from making a comment. Around those lower ranked than him he rarely felt the need for niceties or excessive restraint. When the red-headed girl snapped at him though he did cringe his face in contemplation as he considered that maybe she had a point. If nothing else, he would rather not upset her if he could avoid it. He did desire her after all and enjoy her company, some degree of cooperation with her brother would likely be needed if he were to make Amaya his. “I’ll…do my best” he conceded reluctantly.

The Karagata assassin shifted his attention as a woman in a blue dress entered the room. Immediately his posture relaxed to a less aggressive stance. From the way she carried herself he assumed she was a Jounin, in fact the greatest likelihood was that this was the owner of the house, Kazuki Yoshiko. He had heard of her of course, being one of the most renowned healers the Muramasa family had contracted to them but also skilled in other areas of Ninjutsu, making her talents known to many. She looked far younger than he expected considering he knew her to be of a similar age to his father, Karagata Izune who had recently turned 60 despite still being every bit as fearsome and deadly as in his youth though he was certainly at his peak, unable to get any stronger despite rigorous training. Still the man was regarded as one of the top 20 most respected and wealthy shinobi in Kirigakure, his physical might and assassination skills second only to his nephew Karagata Shiv. But even a man such as Shinjiro’s father had respect for Yoshiko, having mentioned her on a handful of occasions, specifically in conversations Shinji had overheard between his father and elder sister Chiasa.

The body Genma host would kneel respectfully as Yoshiko chastised him, as a further show of curtesy he pulled back his hood and lowered his mask to hang around his neck. Despite his frequently imposing aura Shinjiro had a remarkably youthful and handsome face, light brown hair and vibrant almost lime green eyes. His eyes narrowed slightly, displeased at the veiled threat as maroon chakra formed around her hand. Even with her skills he was sure he could kill her at this range if he was forced to fight her seriously. It was not out of any sense of fear that he deferred to her but respect, for her rank, her experience and her wisdom as his elder. She had earned her place in the village and regardless of family allegiances, he would treat her with what was due. “My apologies Yoshiko-sama, please forgive me” he said in a soft and genuine tone. He nodded as she requested that he essentially ‘play nice’ with Ryu, “Understood. Thank you for your hospitality” he added, dipping his head until she left the room when he would finally stand once more. Though one couldn’t deny that Shinjiro was often a jerk to those perceived as beneath them he was also immensely dutiful to the village and respected the hierarchy of the ranking system as well as honoring the weight of one’s reputation.

Ryu took little time to hear what his sister had to say, and truth be told so blinded by rage was he that he didn't care about what she was saying anyway. The damage was done, his pride was shattered, and he had no desire to stand out there and be demeaned any further than he already had. "Tch... This guy walks into your house and treats you like that? He deserves to die... And we would take great pleasure in tearing him apart." The small tendril emerged from Ryu's shoulder this time and took the shape of that hideous, bulbous head that was Hisan's face, it's gnarled teeth seemingly unfolding from the amorphous mass.

"You don't fucking get it, do you!? I can't! I'm... not strong enough. He's leagues beyond me." Hisan laughed it's gurgly laugh, more of a chuckle really, before responding in kind. "For now. You aren't strong enough for now. But you keep talking like that... 'I'm not strong enough, he's leagues beyond me, i can't do it'. You're so blind, Ryu... I've told you, you aren't just you anymore... You're 'we'." The creature receded back into Ryu's shoulder as it left him with those words, and the boy's rage began to slowly simmer down... just in time for that rush of cold water to catch him from below, right in the nethers before coating the rest of him.

"Shit, what'd I do Baba!?" Both the two shinobi and his grandmother would hear the boy's curse as he suddenly burst out from the door in time to watch Yoshiko disappear around the corner. He turned back to his sister and the bastard that had started all of this, water dripping from his wet mane in front of his face. With a bit of annoyance he blew wet hair out of his face before whipping his neck to throw the hair behind him. "You're still here? Thought you two were leaving..." It was clear that he didn't actually want Amaya to go, that he was hurt and embarrassed, emasculated by this newcomer into their home... But he noticed now that Amaya was sitting on the couch with clearly labored breath, her skin pale as a sheet.

A moment later his instinct as a brother overcame his wounded pride and he was at his sister's side on the couch, checking her eyes for pupil dilation to ensure she was still okay. "Hey, what happened? You still in there?"

Amaya hardly even noticed that Shinji got up the moment her grandmother left the room. She stayed where she was, against the arm of the couch, slowly leaning forward a bit more every moment that passed. It was as she started to slip forward she felt her brother's hands and realized he was not only back, but talking to her. She lay back against the back of the couch and nodded slowly. "I'm fine..." she whispered with a bit of a groan. "Just... um..."

"Your grandmother says she used too much chakra." Kouta spoke up as he returned to the room, sparing a glance at the newcomer before moving to Amaya's side. "Look I'm new to all this, but from what she said she used too much when she did whatever technique she did. That she's not experienced enough for such a thing." The man shrugged. Before all this he had simply been a mining slave, he knew next to nothing about chakra and shinobi. Their entire world was new to him. He shifted to the side of the couch, next to Amaya, and withdrew something from his pocket. "Your grandmother told me what to do to help for now, but said it'll only work for an hour or two, after that she needs to sleep it off." He took a vial and moved to Amaya, tilting her head and putting it to her lips. "Drink this..."

Amaya drank as instructed, hardly aware of what was going on around her for the moment.

Shinjiro had overheard some of Ryu’s conversation with Hisan. He felt almost excited by the prospect of the son of Kazuki Ryoga wishing his death. He hoped Ryu would become strong quickly so that he could provide some semblance of a challenge, anything to better hone his own skills. There were so few individuals left that he could properly train with. He had no need for more friends but there was always a prominent drive to surpass others and be pushed to his limits. When Yoshiko left and as Ryu returned Shinji would now notice the state of exhaustion Amaya was in. It seemed the girl was more like him than he realized, not knowing her own limits and pushing herself to complete exhaustion in her ambitions to utilize advanced techniques. He had experienced that hundreds of times and so too had he been on the brink of death more times than he could accurately remember. “I think I’ll stay a little longer, doesn’t look like she’s in any condition to go anywhere” he stated dryly. He didn’t show any immediate concern for Amaya though he was watching her carefully.

He saw her sway and in an instant, he was at the side of the couch, his hand firmly against her shoulder to prevent her from falling over. If Ryu had looked over his shoulder at the sudden appearance of Shinjiro he might notice that he had moved so fast there was even a lingering afterimage across the other side of the room where he started that would persist for several seconds. His movement itself would have been faster than even teleportation for there was no need for any kind of casting time with such sheer explosive speed. Ryu was checking the girl’s eyes, clearly worried and beginning to panic in concern for her safety though Shinjiro remained calm and observing. The slave made his comments so Shinjiro didn’t have to, explaining what seemed rather obvious to him. He was intimately familiar with exhaustion, poisons and life-threatening wounds or diseases after all and could easily recognize the differences. Not to mention that if it was anything serious Yoshiko-sama would have been tending to her. Shinjiro pivoted and moved back against the wall next to the edge of the wall as the slave stood where he had previously been. There was no way he was going to let someone like that get in close proximity behind him. There were two people tending to her now so there was no longer any need for him to steady her.

With predatory eyes Shinjiro watched the slave and assessed the vial. Any sign of deception or ill-intent and he wouldn’t hesitate to break the man’s arm and relieve him of the vial, though of course there was no need for that. His intention seemed genuine and he would have been a complete fool to try something like that in his presence. If it was one of his own slaves Shinjiro would have complete faith in their loyalty but he knew this man was someone that had only been recently acquired and previously mistreated, there was no telling what kind of grudge or motives he might have, even towards his supposed saviors. They were still all Kirigakure shinobi after all and the man remained a slave even in this household. As Amaya drank the liquid, Shinjiro watched both her and Kouta closely for several long moments, his eerie bright green eyes glowering with intensity and protective instincts. “She’ll be fine” he said at last. “She’s resilient” he assessed. It would take more than exhaustion to bring down something with her kind of drive and ambition. Of course, he knew full well that it was possible to die from extreme chakra depletion though he refused to believe such a thing would occur over a single transformation technique, advanced as it may be.

Ryu looked to Kouta as the slave brought the medicine for her, helping her stay steady as she took the drink down, a look of obvious concern on his face. Despite the earlier tension in the house from all that went down, Ryu was still Amaya's brother, and was still there for her... even if she pissed him the fuck off sometimes. It seemed that Shinjiro would be hanging around a while longer, another fact that Ryu wasn't particularly happy about, but he clearly had other things to worry about. "Easy, Amaya. Just relax. Baba's medicine will help you get back to your feet in no time." Ryu would stay by her side, though he would turn his head to Shinji as he hung back from the situation.

"I want to start over with you." That was... surprisingly big of Ryu to say, given what anyone knew about him. "You piss me right the fuck off, but your skill is undeniable, and if i'm going to ever get stronger I need a good teacher. Jiji only does so well, he's growing gray, his speed is slowing down. And you clearly have experience with things that... live inside you." Ryu seemed to twitch for a second, the creature within him stirring beneath his skin. "Your disrespect, my disrespect; let's forget about it. Teach me, Shinji. If not for my sake then for Kiri's sake, so you know you're grooming another brilliant warrior for Kiri's use."

While he spoke, he never moved from Amaya's side, his concern for her even greater than his desire to get stronger. But deep in his mind, Hisan giggled like a fiend. Heheheheheh... There ya go, I knew you'd figure something out. If he's that strong, surely he can make us stronger too. And then, we get our revenge... And we eat him, right? Ryu couldn't help but smirk a little at the creature's assumptions, although it had partially figured out his plan. Heh... Maybe. He's still one of the sharpest blades in all of Kirigakure. His life is more useful then his death, in the grand scheme. But it's tempting... I don't know if we can resist." HEHEHEHEHEH... You just said 'we', Ryu. HA! I knew i'd grow on you eventually.

...He really wanted to be mad, but honestly he couldn't. The bastard was right... he was starting to like him.

When Amaya had drunk the entire vial, Kouta took a step back and watched for a moment as her brother and Shinjiro were near and after a moment he seemed satisfied. "I'll bring the food in here for you." he said quietly. "I don't think she's in any shape to leave this room unless she's heading for bed... and from what I've seen she's too stubborn for that." Looking at Amaya long enough to see the girl raise a fist at him, complete with a raised middle finger, the slave chuckled. "I thought so... I'll be right back." he said, bowing quickly before turning to leave the room.

Amaya herself managed to drink the medicine, leaning back on the couch to rest her head against it as she looked at her brother and then pointedly looked around for Shinjiro. She raised her hand a moment, seeking his subconsciously though unsure if she'd find it before she looked at Ryu again. "I'm okay." she assured him. "Food, rest, I'll be good as new." she said with a chuckle, falling quiet as she listened to what her brother had to say to Shinjiro. It was honestly enough of a shock that if she'd had the energy and ability, she might have sat straight up and accused him of lying. Instead the most she could do was stare at him as she wondered if her brother had gone mad.

"There's still something I need to tell both of you actually." Amaya said, sighing heavily as she looked between the two as best as she could, a subject suddenly coming to mind that she had yet to fill her brother in on and definitely hadn't had a chance to tell Shinjiro as of yet. "I've spoken to Uncle Shiv. I put it in motion. I will be swearing to the Karagata family like mother did."

After a few moments of observing the slave, Shinjiro felt satisfied that the man seemed trustworthy. He was skilled in reading expressions and body language, ever vigilant for those who might harbor aggression. Kouta checked out, though he still regarded him as being significantly lower than a shinobi he was more worthy of life and served a greater purpose than the untouchables or other low lives that lived in the outer district. He still wouldn’t speak directly to him or seek any direct interaction with him, he was the property of Amaya and Ryu after all, it wasn’t his place to give him any orders and he had no reason to desire social interaction with someone like him. The slave left the room and Amaya drank her medicine before seeming to look around for him and even extending a hand. He wasn’t comfortable enough with casual affection to hold her hand in front of others, not yet at least. Instead, he would simply take a step forward and place his right hand lightly on her left shoulder. If she elected to touch his hand after that he wouldn’t withdraw.

The esteemed Karagata gave a scrutinizing look as Ryu suddenly declared he wished to clear the slate. He didn’t trust that at all and expected there to be some catch or backhanded comment following it up. His gaze softened somewhat as he acknowledged Shinji’s skills. The Jinchuuriki’s pride and ego was always something he took kindly to being stroked. Having worked immensely hard to achieve his status he expected respect and recognition. He felt he deserved it, others had died enduring the same training he had and he owed it to them to make it worth it. To achieve glory, to always win and strengthen Kirigakure as a whole for their sake and to honour their lives and deaths. In his mind to belittle that, to disrespect him or his rank was to disrespect his family and the village as a whole. Likewise, he would always show respect to his superiors, to those who had earned strength above his own. “I accept your apology” he stated dryly, fighting to keep out the inflection of a mocking tone. “Yeah, you and I. We could be quite good for one another.” He admitted. Ryu was a hot head but he had a strong lineage and a powerful ability. He could be molded into something great.

The young member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist smirked wryly, his bright green eyes assessing the red-haired Genin. “I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t considered you as a potential Dagger. I was planning on waiting until you were Chunin to test your skills, see if you had the right potential. I suppose I could help you out a bit before then” he decided. He hoped Ryu would be worth his time, though he realized he would surely have to hold back his training methods considerably less waste his potential by having him drop out too soon. It would surely be annoying but perhaps it would eventually pay off. ‘In a few years he might actually become strong enough to keep me on my toes’ he hoped. There was nothing like the threat of one’s fellow shinobi to keep you sharp. The only individuals he could think of that could pose any significant threat to him currently were all elite Jounin or Bannin, though perhaps Ryu would be able to surprise him and catch him off guard sometimes. He turned his head slowly to look at Amaya as she prepared the pair of teenage boys for some kind of news. If she still touched his hand he would be feeling a little uncomfortable with the affection, especially in front of Ryu though it was something that he was gradually growing more fond of. Shinjiro smiled widely, practically grinning as she declared her official decision to join the Karagata. “A fine choice. I can help you become strong too” he assured. She would soon be bound to his direct family line which surely meant they would have the opportunity to spend a great deal more time together and nobody could question their involvement.
