Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Toushi has shoulder length, straight white hair that is slicked back with some form of product to keep it out of his face. A set of light brown eyes with sharp eye brows rest just over his average sized and shaped nose. A thin set of lips can be found under the nose and above a pointed chin. A chin strap style white beard can be found on the man's face, seeming to lack the ability to grow anything other than this style of beard..
  • Body: The former Kumo nin has a defined body type, demonstrating his desire to look aesthetically pleasing to the eye with naturally dark skin but not appearing bulky. Somewhat lanky limbs give the man a good reach and help serve him well in close range encounters. Aside from his deeply tanned skin the ninja doesn't have any special markings or injuries on his body to speak of.
  • Notable Features: White hair and dark tanned skin
Clothing/Accessories: Wears a sleeveless black button-up cloth shirt with a high collar that has white and red accents on it. A pair of traditional grey cloth pants run down from his waist into wrappings that start just below the knee and end at the ankle. On his feet are a pair of simple looking sandals worn by a normal farmer that are white and brown in color, as well.

  • General: Like most members of the Arashiyama clan, Toushi has inherited a calm and easy-going mannerism in the majority of his actions. Even to the point that in combat he has a gentle smile on his face despite how fiercely he may be fighting. He is an avid reader and thus has a rather good level of intelligence, being able to converse with just about anyone. Never one to feel as though he is to important to take time to speak with someone or view them below himself. Despite having honed his body and mind on the battlefield it will be the last thing he talks about as the man seems content just being an easy-going type of person. Yet, the man harbors a true hatred in his heart for the Nakajima clan/family and their actions in the past which cost him loved ones. One of the deciding reasons for him disappearing from the village the man is a bit lost in his mind as to where or what he should be doing with his life at this point after burying family and a lover. Believing that perhaps on his current journey around the countries of the world he can find peace of mind...maybe.
  • Hopes/Dreams: His dream is to simply wander around the world and experience it not as a shinobi but a simple swordsman.
  • Fears: The repercussions that will one day come looking for him for his actions of throwing away his relationship with the village..

  • Description: A pair of Urumi sword whips with four flexible blade-like whips attached to a sword hilt with hand guard. The relics have been infused with the core energy of a powerful spirit and passed down Toushi's family for several generations. Made completely of a dark metal with red writing and outline coloring, the Urumi's hilt is only about six inches in length while the whip portions stretch out to two and a half meters in length being only about half a inch in width and about an eight of an inch in thickness.

Ranton [Storm Release] is a unique elemental affinity exclusive to the Arashiyama clan. By mixing their natural affinities for Raiton [Lightning Release] and Suiton [Water Release] the clan is able to create a liquid-like plasma called storm.

Ranton has a splashing nature, which causes it to break into ribbons on impact, and distribute over an area. Ranton splashes on impact, and breaks into X number of ribbons with X strength, where X is equal to 1/2 the strength of the jutsu(rounded up) and distributes over an area of Y meters, where Y is equal to 1/4th the speed of the jutsu (rounded up). These ribbons retain the effect of their original jutsu, so a Ranton jutsu used to pierce would create ribbons that stab and pierce anything they strike, while a Ranton jutsu that is wrap would create ribbons that wrap. After years of training and study, the user has learned how to more quickly recognize openings and weaknesses in their opponent's defenses and fighting style. This Discipline represents the user's reduced reaction time required to take advantage of an opening that presents itself in the middle of combat, thus increasing the likelihood they will score a successful hit when targeting the vulnerable area. This does not grant them any protection against falling for feints or traps sent by the opponent.

After years of studying and training, the user has increased their auditory acuity and has learned how to track opponents without using sight, instead of relying on the sense of hearing to locate them. This technique allows them to accurately isolate and track an opponent using only sound so long as they remain within a distance of meters equal to [Taijutsu/4].

After years of training and study, the user has mastered basic breathing techniques to fully oxygenate their bloodstream with minimal effort. This can even be used on close range attacks such as sword swings or punches as long as the user's [Instinct] is equal to or greater than the speed of the attack.

The 'Dance of Storm God' is a specialized form of Nintaijutsu that involves mixing the user of Toushi's Urumi and Storm ninjutsu to develop a rapid-paced, agile, and deadly style of combined arms combat able to effect large areas of the battlefield. Due to Ranton's ability to be used to either pierce or wrap targets, the user can decide which effect is being used, depending on the target. They must specify in the post that the maneuver is being used which they are using.

Requires: [Sword], [Corded], [Acrobatics], [Perception] Taijutsu Concentrations; Ranton (Storm) Ninjutsu Concentration.

Ranton Style - Breath of Susanoo • Level One
D-Rank Nintaijutsu Stance
Utilizing a special form of breathing while constantly channeling Ranton chakra, the use is able to force their body into a state where a small amount of chakra is constantly being channeled and primed to mold and emit Ranton chakra. The Ranton chakra is used to enhance the user's attacks and movements with Ranton chakra. As long as they remain in this Stance, they are able to reflexively emit a constant stream of Ranton chakra from their weapon(s) or strikes to enhance their attacks. If this effect is used to enhance an attack(s), the enhanced attack is treated as a double attack, the second attack hitting with a Speed equal to the user's Speed and a Strength of [5]. Nintaijutsu maneuvers in the Breath of Susanoo style executed while in this stance are granted a Strength value of [5]. Any nintaijutsu maneuvers executed while in this stance will grant those an unfocused buff of [+2] strength, this also applies to Ranton's splash damage. The stream of Ranton travels at a Speed equal to the user's Speed and a Strength equal to the Strength value offered by the current active Stance. This is a cutting/piercing style of attack.

Using the Ranton chakra currently channeled into her sword, the user releases the Ranton chakra in a 5-meter wide spinning circular stream of Ranton that expands outward upon contact with the opponent or after the spinning slash is completed. This technique turns the slash into a double-strike, the circular stream of Ranton striking the opponent with a Speed equal to user's Speed and a Strength equal to the Strength value offered by the current active Stance for up to ten meters away. This technique can be performed vertically, horizontally, or even diagonally. The user performing a front-flip slash in the vertical variant. This is a cutting style of attack.

Using Ranton chakra currently channeled into their body or weapon(s), the user slashes out with their weapon releasing two horizontal slashes with their weapon which release two streams of Ranton , each a meter wide by five meter long, that extends outwards in an arch that extends the range of the swing/attack by ten meters. The First slash is released at [-1] speed while the second is released at full speed allowing for it to strike the other stream causing both to release the splashing effect of Ranton. The streams of Ranton travels at a Speed equal to the user's Speed and a Strength equal to the Strength value offered by the current active Stance. This is a cutting/piercing style of attack.

When the thrust strikes a target or reaches the end of the motion it releases a spiraling column of Ranton one meters in diameter in the direction of attack that extends outwards to a range of ten meters. The stream of Ranton travels at a Speed equal to the user's Speed and a Strength equal to the Strength value offered by the current active Stance. This is a wrapping style of attack.

Using the Ranton chakra currently channeled into their body or weapon(s), the user slashes out with their weapon a two-combo strike attack that starts with a vertical slash and then a horizontal one right after releasing two slashes with their weapon which release two streams of Ranton, each two meters wide by five meters long , that extends outwards in an arch that extends ten meters away. The stream of Ranton travels at a Speed equal to the user's Speed and a Strength equal to the Strength value offered by the current active Stance. This is a cutting/piercing style of attack.

Prerequisite(s): Breath of Susanoo • Level One or Higher
Using the Ranton chakra currently channeled into their weapon or strike, their swings upwards towards her opponent, aiming for their guard while channeling Ranton chakra into the tip of the weapon or strike. Immediately after finishing the swing or making contact with the opponent's guard, a rushing steam of Ranton slams into the opponent from underneath the blade, striking at a Speed equal to user's Speed and a Strength equal to the Strength value offered by the current active Stance. If the opponent's average of their Strength and Stamina stat, rounded up, are lower than this technique's Strength, they are pushed up off the ground, being continually buffeted and suspended by the Ranton This allows the user the opportunity to follow up with a second attack, targeting an opening in the opponent's guard. This is a cutting/piercing style of attack.

Using the Ranton chakra currently channeled around their body, the user rushes the opponent while channeling Ranton chakra into their feet, granting them the ability to move through the air by using bursts of Ranton from their feet as footholds and allowing them to approach an opponent from a variety of angles for the remainder of the post. The user can end this technique at will if they wish to conserve chakra. This can be used offensives as when the user steps on or kicks off the burst of Ranton chakra it causes the foot holds to release piercing style ribbons from the Ranton passive.

C-Rank Nintaijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): Breath of Susanoo • Level Two or Higher
Using the Ranton chakra currently channeled into their body or weapon(s), the user slashes out with their weapon a three strike combo strike attack that starts with a vertical slash into a horizontal slash, into a diagonal slash one right after releasing which release an arching slash of Ranton from each attack. The slashes of Ranton are each a meter wide and five meters in length that extends outwards in an arch that extends out to fifteen meters. The first slash traveling at -2 speed, the second strike at -1 speed, and the third at full speed causing for the three to collide and release the splashing effect of Ranton all at once. Normally used from above targets or when attacking strong defenses. The streams of Ranton travels at a Speed equal to the user's Speed and a Strength equal to the Strength value offered by the current active Stance. This is a cutting/piercing style of attack.

Breath of Susanoo • Susanoo's Anger
C-Rank Nintaijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): Breath of Susanoo • Level Two or Higher
Using the Ranton chakra currently channeled into their body or weapon(s), the user slashes downward at an opponent's guard (normally from above them) releasing which release a mass of Ranton chakra from the weapon as they swing downwards. The Ranton chakra takes the form of a crashing pillar of Ranton that crashes down for the remainder of the post, moving at a Speed equal to user's Speed and a Strength equal to the Strength value granted by the current active Stance. The Ranton mass has the ability engulf and trap the opponent if the average of their Strength and Stamina, rounded up, is less than the Strength of the Ranton, cutting off their ability to run and slowing their movements, inflicting a [-3] Speed penalty on them for the remainder of the post. This can allow the user to follow up with another attack if they so wish. This is a wrapping style of attack.

Prerequisite(s): Breath of Susanoo • Level Two or Higher
Using the Ranton chakra currently channeled into their body or weapon(s), the user torques the muscles in their legs and quickly rotates before releasing the Ranton chakra with a spinning slash, producing a rotating vortex of Ranton 10 meters high that expands out to 15 meters away at a Speed equal to the use's Speed and a Strength equal to the Strength value granted by the current active Stance. This technique can be used as either an attack or a defense. Once the cyclone reaches max range, it persists for the remainder of the post before dissipating. This is a cutting/piercing style of attack.

Using the Ranton chakra currently channeled into their body or weapon(s), the user thrust out with their weapon in a stabbing motion. The Ranton chakra is used to enhance the user's attacks and movements with Ranton chakra. Prerequisite(s): Breath of Susanoo • Level Three or Higher
Using the Ranton chakra currently channeled into their weapon and around the body, the user swinging their weapon forward twice, once from each side. A body of Ranton chakra rushes forward in the direction of each swing, taking on the form of a large flood dragons (ten meters in length). This dragon-like body of Ranton is able to move up to 40 meters away with a Speed equal to the user's Speed and a Strength equal to the Strength value offered by the currently active Stance. If the user chooses they can change the direction of the dragons by swinging again along with extending the range by up to an additional 40 meters, but each additional swing will require additional chakra equal to the technique. This is a wrapping style of attack.

Prerequisite(s): Breath of Susanoo • Level Three or Higher
Using the Ranton chakra currently channeled into their weapon and around the body, the user swinging their weapon creating a circular slash in front of them. A body of Ranton chakra rushes is released from the weapon creating a circular wall of Ranton that pushes outwards from the user, serving as either a defense or offensive attack. The wall of Ranton grows to over twenty meters in diameter and extend out from the user up to [25] meters away with a Speed equal to the user's Speed and a Strength equal to the Strength value offered by the currently active Stance. This is a cutting/piercing style of attack.



Ranton Style - Breath of Susanoo • Level Four
A-Rank Nintaijutsu Stance
Utilizing a special form of breathing while constantly channeling Ranton chakra, the use is able to force their body into a state where a small amount of chakra is constantly being channeled and primed to mold and emit Ranton chakra. This does not affect the Strength values granted by the stance itself, only granting them to the maneuvers performed. The user can exit this stance reflexively to conserve chakra. Due to the chakra intensive nature of this Stance, this technique drains [-1] Stamina point worth of chakra every [2] posts in addition to the chakra costs of other techniques used, regardless of whether the user utilizes the Ranton chakra or not.

Using the Ranton's chakra currently channeled into their weapon and around the body, Toushi channels the chakra into each individual whip of his weapon. Then he will draw the weapon back and snap it forward causing for each strand of his weapon to release a single strand of Ranton Chakra, though doing this weakens the technique as a whole causing the four waves of Ranton to be down ranked one rank in strength. The four streams of Ranton can be controlled by the user's 'snap' to strike against a target from as close as the tip of the Urumi out to a spot [50] meters away, causing the four streams to release their splashing passive all at one time. The streams of Ranton travel with a Speed equal to the user's Speed. This is a cutting/piercing style of attack.

Historical AccountsShow

Born into the Arashiyama family, Toushi was the third child of his mother Sakura and father Toro. Both were shinobi of whom the baby would grow to learn were from the prominent, almost noble family of the Hidden Cloud. His life as a young child was simple, learning from his mother mostly when not playing with his two older siblings, the closest to his age was his sister Ji who was two years older than himself, while the pairs older brother was five years ahead of Toushi. Soon the young boy felt like his both disappeared as the boy had started the standardized schooling portion of his life within Kumo, before soon after transitioning to the shinobi academy leaving little time to play with his younger siblings.

This was something that would become a driving point in the boy's younger years, feeling that he needed to succeed and study in order to become a shinobi as well so that he'd be able to spend more time with his brother and parents who would often be drawn away due to the commitments that came with being a shinobi. At the age of eight he would enter into his first year of classes, meeting many other kids and making number of friends due to the easy going personality that he had acquired from his siblings and parents, it was something of a common trait for those within his clan. A year later he would sadly leave a large majority of his new found friends behind as he transitioned into the shinobi academy, still chasing after his older brother who had long since graduated and even his older sister who was about to graduate the academy herself.

The two of them would always try to make a little time in their busy schedules to help Toushi along as he often had so many questions about his life and about being a shinobi and all the other things that came with it. Three years would seem to fly by as the man had just reached his twelfth birthday before graduating and being given the headband etched with the precious village symbol upon it, something he'd been striving for what felt so long to achieve. Finally he had managed to at least catch up a little to his brother ans sister, the latter who was still a genin while the boy's brother had already reached the special jounin rank and was even held in high regard by many of their relatives within the clan. Toushi partnered up with two of his best friends, Jin and Sato, whom he had been with since the first day of the shinobi academy and had become very close.

A trio under the guidance of a senior chuunin, the group began to slowly hone their basic skills from the academy as each began to seek out their own path to being a shinobi. Toushi was very intrigued with the special release of his clan, a fusion of Water and Raiton, and was always daydreaming about how best he could use it. Even though he found himself proficient with the elemental ninjutsu he couldn't pull himself away from wanting to fight and hone his taijutsu at the same time. This in turn led the boy to creating a style of elemental taijutsu that he later learned was called nintai. Though it had its strengths for sure it was rather chakra intensive, a drawback that forced the man to work a lot on his stamina which began to slowly mold the young boy's body into a muscular form over the next three years as the trio of genin worked relentlessly to improve and complete missions. At the age of fifteen, the now young man was able to succeed in passing the C-rank mission on his second attempt, given to him by their sensei and the village in order to prove his worth and abilities that he could act at the rank of Chuunin.

It was on this year that something truly unexpected happened as the Nakajima family did something that no one ever though would happen and what was one of the bloodiest events in the last half a century within the notional walls of the village. On one early Nakajima Kadou, a notable politician who criticized the “hand-holding” state of Kumogakure had tried to lead a revolution in Kumogakure. Along with his brother they attempted a coup d'etat on the Raikage. The band of assassins and shinobi however swiftly failed, dying at the hands of the Raikage and his bodyguards. Even as a chuunin and young shinobi this was a memory that he would never be able to forget as it cost the man's older brother his life during the unexpected burst of conflict and fighting. This was big setback mentally for the young chuunin who had lost his sibling not to conflict with another village but to people just the day before were their brother and sisters in arms against all who might threaten their grand home.

Toushi's progress which had been so steady in growth plateaued and even dropped for about six months to a years worth of time to finally come to terms with the events and with the help of his sister and mother begin to once more advance slowly back on the tracks of his life as a shinobi. Understanding that we were all tools of the village and sometimes there would be death on both sides of that tool. Finally the chuunin began to train harder, wishing to find the strength to limit such needless casualties as the rest of the world was an uneasy place with war and death breaking out between other great shinobi nations while their own country had tried to maintain a form of neutrality in order not to get pulled into the destruction. Then their was a team of peace for the man as he slowly trained his skills in Ranton and Taijutsu, still slowly forging a method to combine them into one single style of fighting. It was at this time he stumbled upon one of the old relic weapons of the clan from a time that was before they were even part of the Cloud village.

It was a strange looking thing, it looked like a handful of whips that had been attached to the hilt of a sword, but the whip portion was more compatible to thin, flexible blades. Something about it drew the man to the weapon but the clan elders would not allow for him to obtain the weapon just yet as it was one of the artifacts from the older days of the clan and he also couldn't understand why the youngster would want to try wielding such a strange weapon that could be just as dangerous to the user as the target. He made a deal in the end that he would be allowed to take the weapon out of the clan's armory after become a jounin and the old man just laughed a bit and shrugged before finally agreeing. Not really expecting the young man would want to put in the level of training and work in order to develop a style of fighting with the odd weapon and nin the end he also thought that it really wasn't doing anything except gathering dust in the store room.

In what felt like the blink of an eye the young man was eighteen and had promoted to the rank of jounin and that very day he went back to find the old clan elder who scratched his head as he'd forgotten about the agreement and had to take some time to remember. A short time later he walked out of the clan compound and began to seclude himself at times when not tasked out on a mission as started to learn how to utilized the weapon which was called an Urumi. The first couple of months caused for the man to spend a portion of his time in the general hospital due to the self inflicted injuries that occurred during the training on how to properly wield the weapon. No one else in the village knew anything about how to best wield it and the man was forced to read about flexible swords and whips to develop a general understanding on the best manner to approach the weapon.

After a few years worth of training the man not only developed the fluid ability to wield the weapon but also managed to combines it flawlessly with his NinTai techniques, it was at this time when he truly felt at one with his style and the storm chakra within him that he unlocked something within the weapon. While in his hands the weapon was able to actually empower Ranton techniques that were used in his nintai styles when the chakra flowed through the weapon first. It was an amazing discovery but one that he also tried to keep to himself as a trump card, one always needed a few techniques or abilities that no one else knew about just in case.

Around the age of thirty, the man had developed a strong reputation in the clan and even around the village for his work ethic and easy going nature, but those who experienced his whip-like weapon often thought the complete opposite and in the end this was the time that the nickname of Kumo's Storm Beast began to stick for the man. He only laughed at the nicknames himself and continued to train. At the age of 31 the man would end up marrying a fellow jounin, Sora, the two contemplating starting a family. Yet, neither of them knew what was about to happen. Not long after their marriage the lightning spirit appeared to attack the village while they were both away on a mission, upon getting the emergency recall to the village both couldn't believe the amount of destruction and death caused by the spirit as the mountain had literally collapsed on one side falling down upon the village below. It was hard clean up process but one had to wonder if it might have been worse without the Nakajima who had stepped in to fight the beast alone before managing to drive him away in the end, bringing some honor to the family after the attempted coup over a decade ago.

Yet, just as the village was finally recovering from the natural disaster, everything was thrown upside down and the village and all of Lightning country was pushed into a civil war. A time when Toushi carved his name across many battlefields, even still he couldn't compare to the Nakajima who had fought against the lightning spirit. Though the man may not have known it his appearance on the battlefield had saved Toushi's life at least twice during the numerous battles that brought nothing but death and tragedy onto the land. The violent civil war didn't last long, and soon those who had truly started this war were fully punished and a new heir put in place as the country was once more reunited, yet Toushi found himself alone as he had buried his wife Sora due to the intense conflict of the civil war.

This also marked the return of that man Nakajima Hayate, who had been one of the main reasons for the overall success of several battles and a man who had earned the respect of the village, this man would become the next Raikage. The older jounin however was filled with grief over his lost wife and still harbored a great amount of hatred for the Nakajima man and even felt that her death was partially his fault. No longer able to serve under this man the jounin at the end of the war when things were still so unstable disappeared while out on a mission for the village and for over the past few years has had no contact with the village or his family. Simply wandering the land as a simple swordsman, looking to find the missing pieces in his life.

Alright so one basic thing that's going to apply to majority of your nintaijutsu is that since they're Ranton, you do still have to put the numbers up for the secondary ribbons or at least mention them. This is because of the fact that those ribbons count as attacks on their own.
Ranton Excerpt:
Ranton splashes on impact, and breaks into X number of ribbons with X strength, where X is equal to 1/2 the strength of the jutsu(rounded up) and distributes over an area of Y meters, where Y is equal to 1/4th the speed of the jutsu (rounded up). These ribbons retain the effect of their original jutsu, so a Ranton jutsu used to pierce would create ribbons that stab and pierce anything they strike, while a Ranton jutsu that is wrap would create ribbons that wrap.
You'll wanna say that the Ranton passive cuts/wrap/splashes/does whatever the base jutsu does with 1/2 the Strength granted by the currently active Stance, rounded up and travels Y distance, which is equal to 1/4 your Speed rounded up. The actual Speed of the ribbons remains the same.

Ah, forgive me, I mentioned it because the Ranton archives in the clan page actually spell out the passive Strength and distance in the jutsu. Which actually leads me to my next point, cuz you mostly got what I meant but just need a little tweaking. For the passive ribbons/spikes/whatever, you're gonna have to give the actual numbers, not just the equation. I say this because it's the same thing that the Ranton Archives specify:

D-rank Ranton Ninjutsu
After performing a string of handseals, the user focuses storm chakra into their mouth and pools liquid in it. The user is able to shoot the liquid in a straight line with a speed of 5, a strength of 5, and a range of 5 meters. The liquid bursts into 3 ribbons on impact, with 3 strength and 5 speed that lunge for the target up to 1.25 meters.

So for all of your Nintai you need to remove the word "additional" from each of them where it talks about setting the strength value of all the nintai maneuvers being used while the stance is active. This is because "additional" implies that there's an outside factor determine the Strength of the maneuvers when there isn't. The Strength of the maneuvers are set by the Stances themselves.
