Prank gone right?

This typical weekday was sunny and bright. Another beautiful day in the place that Aki called home, Kumogakure no Sato. In the morning the shinobi walked out of the house that his parents owned and immediately went into the thick of town. Aki's bright pink hair usually was a standout in the crowd, however when he got to town he was slightly shocked that no one would stare at him. Seeking the thrill of getting attention, the young boy decided that maybe he should pull a prank of some kind. He walked through several groups of people within a square where there were some local shops. What should the Genin do?

After stopping at a furniture shop, Aki had a bulb light up above his head. A glimmer shined throughout his eye and a shit eating smirk followed. Aki walked up to the shop and used his right hand to open the door. It was a small shop that had simple housing options that someone would need to buy to furnish a home. Couches, chairs, tables, closets, and more. All though there wasn't much variety in options, there was enough necessities there to fill an empty home. As Aki walked in he looked over past some of the couches and watch as the only employee was speaking to an adult man and woman about the different bed options. That conversation alone was enough to bore the young lad to sleep. He quickly looked out of the glass viewing windows that lead to the walking road throughout the village. He could see different types of people stopping to look at the displays within the glass. Aki saw a particular closet that was promoted as a sale. When the young shinobi turned his head, he saw the same one against the wall on the far right. This was a great opportunity for the lad!

He crouched down a little bit and made his way to the closet. The Genin tried his best to tip toe and be quiet while ducking. This was his way of being incognito. He kept an eye on the three people talking in the far left near the beds as he made his way to the promoted closet. Hoping he had not been seen, Aki made it to the closet against the wall that was the same as the promoted one up against the glass. With the other models lined up on the right with it, he quietly and slowly opened up the closet. Aki tried to sneak into the closet and shut the door behind him slowly in hopes not to make any noise that would cause a stir. While he was in the closet, Aki couldn't help but snicker a little bit. What sucker would he startle!?

Another day, another sale. At the rate he had been selling closets Ryuuta was sure they wouldn't just promote him but likely put him in charge of the Fuuinkai division. Ever since he stepped foot in the door of the department store as a young, fresh-faced graduate of the Northern Imperial Trade Academy, he had felt a great destiny. One almost divine. The old geezers who lined the store wouldn't be able to hold a match to him- their strategies as boring as their banter. If he could make one more sale today he was certain he would reach the divine destiny he dreamed of, working the isles of the Fuuinkai department, where he could sell the latest in f cutting edge shinobi-fuuinjutsu-powered-appliances. Ryuuta was nearly grinning ear to ear as he found his mark and guided her through the store to the closet section.

"Closets, closest, closets!" he smiled. "Ma'am, in the humblest way I have to tell you I am an expert on closets. I live, sleep breathe em', hell I'm practically in them half the day." he gesticulated to a closet to his side. his eyes catching the low-price tag out the side. Such a closet wouldn't improve his sales portfolio. "This ones made of Bamboo- but let me tell you this isn't Sunagakure. Here bamboo is cheap it's nothing." he said as he guided her to the next closet over, not even giving the old woman a chance to decide if the quality-cost ratio really mattered. He cleared his throat- glancing to the most expensive closet in the whole place.

"This one is made of petrified tundra wood. It's imported from the new northern continent of our majesty and the empire. It's extremely expensive but you won't beat its quality. This closet is strong. It's good. House burns down, earthquakes wreck it, typhoon knocks it over, doesn't matter this closet will still be there standing in the wreckage, and you and your family huddled safe in it ma'am" he said as he dramatically reached for the price tag, showing it to the woman only for her eyes to widen.

"Of course, we do have a more affordable option that strikes a middle ground in quality and cost- it's even on sale and if you like it, I might be able to talk my manager into providing a large discount." Ryuuta said as he shepherded the lady to on final closet- one marked for sale, and unbeknownst to the both of the, with a young shinobi delinquent inside.

"GO ahead ma'am, open it up and walk inside- this ones a big one, one helluva closet I tell ya. Made of Oak from the beautiful forests of Fire Country this one can take a beating and boy does it hold a lot of clothes. Two options rails- three shelving units, and a slide-out shoe shelf too if you like collecting shoes..." he said as the woman clutched the handle with one hand, her cane in her other.

She then swung the doors open.

Holding his bent knees and curled up in a ball was the best way Aki could hold himself inside the shelf without sticking out. He waited there for a few minutes. Before he knew it, the young annoyance could hear a man enthusiastic about closets. Anxiously waiting, Aki was having a tough time holding his excitement. This was going to be a great moment in his mind. When the when man's voice got closer the Genin clenched and started to flex his muscles a little bit in anticipation. What would he do after? With only a few moments to think on the spot, Aki decided he would just do a classic jump scare and try to make a run for it. 'Hmmmm that would be funny! What could go wrong??' When the make-shift plan was put together, Aki heard the man allow the customer to open the closet door.

Staring forward with his goldish green eyes, Aki watched as the darkness of being in the closet started to illuminate. Although the close was open semi quickly, it had felt as though time was going very slow. Once the two doors of the closet were open enough for the customer to peek inside, Aki used the leverage of being in the fetal position to push himself forward. The juvenile didn't push forward enough to cause harm, but just enough to have the closet open. With a quick burst in his voice he announced "ROAR" The roar could be heard within the store. What Aki didn't expect was for an elderly woman to be on the receiving end of the prank. The poorly planned "operation" didn't go well when the elderly woman was more than surprised.

With a smile of excitement, the young genin wanted to use the slight confusion to make a run for it. Although his hair made him rather noticeable, the shinobi wanted to try to get the hell out of there. Using the motion that caused him to pop out of the closet, the boy landed on his two feet and used the falling momentum to bend his knees. Using this as a way to propel himself forward more, Aki tried to jump away from the two standing at the result of his prank. He would get a couple step head start away from the two. However, when the boy ran to the doors to push it open he forgot that he had pushed it open to get in. So in fact, the young lad would have had to pull it instead. Due to his hand pushing forward and his minor speedy attempt to get away he hit his face on the door and fell on his butt.

The old lady clutched her chest and let out a loud gurgled, "GAAAAH" as she feinted, falling over on the ground as the Genin sprinted away for the door. The young man's face turned white like a ghost, drained of all its blood as he looked at the lady in horror, then the boy. He was never going to get promoted. He would never work on those new-fangled appliances. His career was over. His white face quickly returned to its color then faded to red as he was filled with rage. As another clerk confirmed the lady had a pulse and was likely fine, nothing but a feint, he took off running after the boy- who eventually collided with a door and fell flat on his butt.

He would instantly pull the boy up by the nape and pin him to the door whilst yelling, "SECURITY!". It would be a few moments but eventually, an overweight man would saunter over to the pair, tucking in his shirt and brandishing his security badge as he coughed. "What did the little runt do?" he'd ask as he reached for his handcuffs, which he would place on the boy.

"He almost killed that poor old lady- gave her a near heart-attack! And he's ruined any chance I have of ever getting promoted and getting out of that closet hellhole!" Ryuuta screamed like a rage-volcano. The portly security guard blinked twice, then turned to the boy. He had shinobi slippers on.

"So you're a shinobi. You probably shouldn't be up to this kind of non-sense, how bout we go ahead and report it to the academies." he said as he pulled on the cuffs, and Ryuuta let go of the boy, but not before saying "I hope they banish him from being a shinobi." and walking away angrily. The guard would take the boy to a guard room in the department store, at which he would call the academy. There would be a short discussion.

"Someone from the academy- a teacher I guess will be coming."

How could this go so wrong? Aki was a shinobi after all! With defeat, the shinobi could feel the sweat start to pour down his face as he gently looked down in defeat. The taunting feeling of doing something wrong swept over the young boy. Was this a feeling of regret? Was this upset he got caught. Not even the pink haired deliquiate knew what it was. The defeated child stayed seating as he heard over his shoulder the steps of another salesperson run over and check the old ladies pulse. The carpet had slight crunching sound that got louder as the man approached and gripped young Aki. In a few moves, the man picked the boy up and pinned him to the wall all while yelling for the guard to come and assist. Aki knew; he was simply in trouble again.

What kind of prank was it if it almost got someone hurt? Aki was on the fence about his creativity. Maybe next time he would have to venture in doing something that didn't have any variable consequences. or maybe he just wouldn't do it at all? The heavy steps followed by fast paced breathing crept up to Aki. He twisted his neck a little bit more. Within his peripherals he saw a slightly out of shape man take control of the situation. A twist and burn feeling followed by an uncomfortable tightening of metal crunched Aki's hands together once the guard got ahold of him. He could hear the clicks of the cuffs locking into place, leaving him slightly immobilized.

Aki kept his head down as the guard picked him up from his feet and spoke to him. He could tell that ignoring the guard only made the man more frustrated. The sound of teeth grinding and a louder version of how he was speaking helped with coming to this conclusion. As the guard held him, Aki thought about speaking up, however he would wait for whoever would claim him. Like a switch went off in his head, he decided that if he was let go from the cuffs, he would make a run for it.

It would only be a few minutes before a sudden gust of wind would rip through the department store followed by a change of pressure in the room. If Aki's senses were very sharp, he'd also notice the air smelled like it did after a thunderstorm and a blur that suddenly revealed the full figure of a large man. He was decked out in an elaborate white robe embroidered in gold and the kanji for "lightning" scrawled dramatically down the sides of the arms. The figure tipped his hat- which was a pretty cool hat that had the symbol for "Cloud" on it. It was none other than the emperor and ninth Raikage, Nakajima Hayate, who had recently been working alongside the new academies as an adjunct of sorts.

Before words even left his mouth he tipped his hat back into a solid position then bowed deeply until the point of taking a knee to the guard.

"I am deeply sorry for the trouble my pupil has caused you and your store today." the Raikage said in a calm but stern voice- one that somehow, despite putting the blame on himself, seemed to shift an insane amount of guilt towards the boy. After all, it was odd for an emperor and practically a god to basically apologize and shame themselves for their underling- such a thing was, culturally, sure to elicit some kind of guilt in even the most grizzled delinquents.

The guard was also notably embarrassed or ashamed to have such an action, and likewise fell into a deep bow followed by "No no don't mention it, really it's fine." While likely the guard couldn't see it, Aki probably could see that Hayate would smirk ear to ear as he kept his head bowed. This was perhaps the biggest abuse of culture ever- the forced guilt/embarrassment/humility move. He truly was sorry for his students actions- but he also was using the outcome of his own absurd reaction to throw the guard off guard and make sure there would be no further punishment or trouble.

"We'll take care of this on the academy side if you don't mind." Hayate said exiting his bow and pointing to the boy, then flicking his finger upward in a motion that said "up boy- walk with me" but without saying it. The two would exit the room, and Hayate would start a short but brisk walk towards the Raikage tower. The guard would merely bow once more, slightly shell-shocked and unsure of what to make of the situation that had just unfolded.

Just why the hell did the Raikage and emperor of the lightning country show up for some delinquent little shit?

What was minutes felt like hours. Aki wasn't thrilled with the academy getting involved, however whoever it was must have been a simple pushover. He would probably get a lashing or verbal "warning". All of these things were running through the shinobi's eyes. A weird feeling struck the air.... was it raining. The crisp feeling of post storm air moved through Aki's nostrils. To Aki, it had the feeling as if a storm was either about to start or finish. Puzzled by the feeling, however, it was fleeting. Within a moments notice Aki watched forward out the window as a man in white robes appeared before him. 'Incredible speed!' he thought before fully realizing who was in front of him. No... it couldn't be?!?! Was it the Raikage?? What could have the young boy have done to truly weren't the leader of the village to this furniture shop.

Akihiko kept quiet as the man bowed his head before him towards the guard. The physical appearance combined with the full status of this shinobi confused Aki by his behavior. Why would this man have to bow to him? From what seemed like a bow-off, Aki kept his eyes on the Raikage. Listening to the two adults had Aki's stomach fully drop. His head felt the rush of blood going faster causing the young boy to get rosy cheeks. Did he cause this much of a stir? The young boy could feel the guilt throughout his body and truly had a feeling he had never felt before, regret. Keeping his body hunched and trying to hide the redness in his face, Aki stayed still until he could see a motion the Raikage weaved with his finger. His actions were enough for Aki to understand and the young shinobi lifted his body.

With the guilt settling in, Aki felt as though he wasn't in his own body and watching himself leave the store with his cuffs over his hands behind his back. As they stepped outside and started walking Aki thought to say a few things. Immaturely he didn't want to acknowledge what had happened. "Lord Raikage, you didn't have to come... I'm sure you have more important things to do. Want me to wait for a teacher? If you take these cuffs off I could just wait at the store." Aki might have been one for getting people's attention, but he wasn't fully an idiot. The boy knew that he couldn't outrun the Raikage.... although at some point he would love to see his speed in action.

The Raikage was quiet and merely would continue to usher Akihiko along for the majority of their way to the Raikage Tower atop Akino peak. At this point, Hayate was torturing the boy in his silence- in fact a little prank of his own. In reality Hayate had happened to be set out for Akihiko from the beginning when the call to the academy came in, and taking advantage of that coincidence, decided to use it to break the ice. In truth, the boy was in zero trouble. While his action was unbefitting of a shinobi no one was actually harmed in the end and he was just a kid after all. But also in truth was that perhaps being punished for a prank was a lighter sentence than what Hayate was prepared to tell the boy.

Akihiko had won the lottery- he had been selected to be the next Genma host in the village. The bad news was there was a long line of... corpses of previous hosts who failed. Eventually, the pair would arrive, Akihiko still in cuffs. They would take a lift to the top of the Raikage tower and before long, swing open the large doors to the Raikage's office.

"Our guest Akihiko has arrived."

Syaoran, the headmaster of the genin academy, and a few other key members of the village were on sofas and in chairs around the Raikage's desk. At this point, Hayate would shut the door behind them and undo the child cuffs, motioning for him to sit besides Syaoran. No one would speak. How would Akihiko react?

The guilt that was clouding over the young boy's mind began to fade. In fact, frustration started to fill the void that was left. To Akihiko there was nothing he despised most than being ignored. The silence was something he couldn't accept either. Aki being shrouded in silence and craved attention whether it was positive or negative left the boy to start speaking in order to get some kind of reaction. However, by the time the two had arrived at their destination, Aki couldn't believe his eyes. The headmaster of the Genin Academy? What did this young pain in the ass too. The icing on the cake was the cold introduction as the guest.

The young shinobi shuffled his feet in the shadow of the Raikage. As Aki lumbered in front of the Raikage to not just see the headmaster, but other adults, the door was shut behind him. Aki followed the Raikage's actions and lifted his hands to be uncuffed. The tight and irritable feelin around his wrists left him to feel ackey and itchy. Aki looked at the Raikage and softly said "You could have taken them off on the way, now I might get a rash". Looking for some kind of reaction, but Aki wasn't fully an idiot. He knew that he would get no reaction out of Hayate. Aki twisted his body slowly and shifted his position so that he could be facing the group of people.

With no shame or willingness to read the room, Aki decided to do a grand introduction. He smiled in front of the adults in front of him. "Hello there Sir's and Ma'ams. My name is Ishiguro, Akihiko. I just want you to know that I haven't done anything wrong to be put here. I hope that justice sees it that way too." In the young delinquent's mind he nailed it. In fact, he couldn't wait to see the faces of the adults that would actually listen to him. However, the boy might have read too many manga that involved criminal interrogations.

Syaoran's eyes would tighten on the boy, his nose wriggling a bit as he sniffed the emotions of the young man in front of him. They were quite the mixture and unsure of many things, and his words only confirmed it when he spoke about justice and the likes. What was he on about anyways... rather, what had Hayate told him? The once-stand-in Kage and Bannin of the village let out a drawn-out sigh before mumbling under his breath to the headmaster sitting next to him, "Great, let's put the weapon in a mini-Hayate. Need more of those..." The headmaster stifled his laughter and merely locked eyes with Syoaran confirming he too felt the same, then cleared his throat as he stood and approached Akihiko.

The Raikage would make his way to his desk, taking a seat before staring at Akihiko.

"Quite the contrary Akihiko, you are here because you have done something very right. Well, not you specifically but your body has." the head master said a he quickly became lost on his own words- it sounded very awkward. A slender woman to his side pushed her glasses up her nose before pinching the headmasters arm and speaking up.

"What he's trying to say Akihiko is the village possesses a great weapon but very few are compatible with it." she would say, followed by the Raikage chiming in. "And you, Akihiko, are apparently the one with the highest calculated chance of survival for... becoming that weapon." Hayate said with an almost bored tone as he stared past the boy.

How many young children of my village to I need to send to their deaths for these genmas... The Raikage would certainly seem dejected from the situation as his mind wandered to past discussions.

...

It was dark. Instrumentation, fuuinjutsu, and lanterns were strewn all over a dark area, likely some sort of cave. Several robed individuals were around the Raikage, he looked angered. The Raikage was slamming his hand on a table, each time denting it.

This boy is nothing special- in fact he's mediocre at best.

HIs opposite hand slammed a large docket of papers on the table, some of them fluttering out into the air and falling about the table. The researchers and robed individuals seemed adamant, one of them stepped forward.

We believe his Ishiguro chakra will nullify the Genma to a point where perhaps it will be unable to take him over- we think the Ishiguro's EMP is potentially the key to making hosts safer. the researcher said. Hayate's eyes tightened at the statement.

So you want to sacrifice him as a guinea pig? If you think EMP will increase survival chances by canceling out a genma, wouldn't you also think the genma will be plain useless? he said as the tip of his finger lit on fire and he pointed towards the documents. The main researcher pushed his arm out of the way and fell to his knees, bowing to the Raikage.

I apologize my lord but I cannot let you burn our research. We think as he gains more control of the genma he can lesson his nullification on the genma- we believe this is the perfect combo, the perfect way to stop losing them, sir. Please, give it a shot. This may be a new way to make the hosts safer than before.

Hayate extinguished his fire and left the dark room- exiting out the side of it. In truth, he did not have a choice. If he did not elect a new host soon, the power imbalance would become obvious to Kirigakure and Iwagakure.
...

"Are you aware of the Genma, boy?"

Aki stood there to the empty response, once again being ignored. Some anger started to boil in his stomach, but the young boy knew better than to let his emotions expel from any form of facial expressions. It wasn't until the shinobi slightly adjusted his position while standing, that he noticed one of the adults stand up and walk towards him The man had a quiet and somber expression as he began speaking. As the shinobi heard the words "Quite the contrary", he couldn't help but smirk a little bit. With his eyes facing the adult and eager to hear what he had to say, it very quickly left. The man explained that he had something very right, his body.

The young boy knew that what was said wasn't actually suppose to be at face value. However, the little delinquent couldn't help but react in a way to make it worse for the man. Placing his left foot backwards with his right foot to follow, he "Ew... you're a little sketchy." What followed was a woman who was clearly better with her words. Aki shifted his attention towards her, locking in his goldish-green eyes toward the 4 eyed elder. All of the different adults talking left the young boy to posit that this was more than getting in trouble. This was a planned strategy. There was something more and bigger than what Akihiko could imagine. Those concerns and questions were fleeting once the Raikage began to speak.

The word Genma struck a cord through the young boy's mind. "Genma?" It took a few seconds, but he had learned a little bit about it in class. Although maybe he wasn't the best student to ask about that. Aki's mouth twitched and the smirk he had before decreased to display a more serious thought. "We learned a little bit about them in the Academy, but nothing in depth. What does the Genma have to do with my body?" Aki said as he did a slight glance to the headmaster.

Hayate rolled his eyes at the pair from the academy. They meant well, but they also were just not so smooth given that this was the first time they were being brought into the inner circle for a Genma sealing. He cleared his throat creating a long pause. Silence had fallen upon the room leaving Aki standing there in his own question. Finally, the Raikage let out a sigh before standing back up and approaching Aki.

"We're going to put a massive chakra demon inside of your body with fuuinjutsu. It's going to be excruciating, but, you will become a living weapon with power to end nations." Hayate said as he squatted slightly, putting himself at eye level with Aki. "9/10 this results in immediate death of the person we seal the Genma in. The rest of the 1/10, well, most people don't last more than a few years." he said staring intensely into Aki's eyes.

The headmaster nervously retorted, "In recent years we've been able to revive and save some of the hosts even after separatio-" Hayate raised his hand cutting the headmaster off as he gulped as if he had just swallowed his tongue. He then spoke again.

"This isn't undangerous kid, but, our researchers think your Ishiguro chakra makes you the absolute safest choice to be a host. In theory, your kekkei genkai will cancel out the genma to a degree. To be honest your body isn't specifically special but anyone from your clan is. We think though, amongst them, you have the right chakra nature to jive with the beast, so if you survive, it will be a harmonious bond."

He stood back to his full height, waving his hand as robed individuals stepped out from the shadows.

"Look kid, it's your choice. Your clan was cool with it, so if you say yes, we need to start now. If no, you 're free to go continue wasting your life doing meaningless pranks on old women in home stores." The headmaster quivered, "It would also be the highest honor in the empire should you accept!"

Nerves ran deep and silence in the office meant that not only could you hear a pin drop, but everyone in the room could hear their own hearts beat. Aki wasn't great when it came to direct book knowledge, however he was situationally smart. Not reading, but reading between the lines and body language were Akihiko's specialty. The shinobi stopped talking. The once smart ass grin and demeanor he had, faded along with his attitude. It was clear that maybe Aki should show a little bit of professionalism in the room, although it wouldn't last. As long as the Raikage and the other members knew that when it came down to it, he was a shinobi worthwhile.

The light embrace of Hayate's eyes towards Aki as he moved himself to become eye level with the child. Although animals saw this as a sign of respect, the shinobi saw this as a way to show his strength. Aki listened to the interjections and the Raikage speak. It made several things clear to the bratty prankster, this wasn't something he was chosen for good reasons. Aki shrugged his right shoulder while using his left arm to grab it as if to stretch out his joints completely. He spoke up after listening to the adults speak. In a serious manner, Aki expressed his emotions and somewhat confided to the adults around the room in a light tone. "So since you haven't done this with someone from my clan, along with the lack of success with others, I am pretty much expendable." Saying these words with his eyes facing the ground. With determination and fire in his eyes, he locked them with Hayate.

It wouldn't be an easy task. The success rate was so low. However, the Raikage's words hit deep when challenged. Aki's current rate and future was just put on blast. It is true at this rate he could keep doing what he wanted and essentially go nowhere. Maybe it was time to step up and put it all on the line. Who knows, maybe it could make the future for Aki more fun than it ever could have. With Aki's eyes locked into Hayate's, there was a few second pause before continuing. "Verywell, lets get to it."

The boy was, as Hayate had expected, frank. Though he hadn't stated it there were reasons why he was chosen instead of any Ishiguro. He wasn't one to internalize things and his emotions were on his sleeve. Hayate had seen many hosts- even those outside of the village. The one thing he had learned was surprisingly, the seemingly "least together" shinobi where the ones who always mastered genma and managed not to implode. They had a strong sense of self and identity and weren't afraid to be who they were. Of course, Hayate wasn't going to just say that to the brat though. It was much more fun to play coy.

"For the sake of our nation we are all expendable, myself included." Hayate said with a grin, dropping his attempt to level with the boy and standing straight up, towering above him. "My advice is just be really damn hard to kill-" he said as he exposed his arm from beneath his robe- it looked odd, as if it was different persons and the color was off. "Recently lost another arm- I grow em back, but I can't tell you how many limbs and near death situations I've been in, knowing full well if it comes down to it I'm dying for our nation, no, our Empire."

"But who needs bullshit talk like this; I'll instead tell you something the world forgot." Hayate said, pointing to the head master.

"Highest honor isn't bullshit. There's only 10 individuals in this world who get to be hosts to the Genma. Most don't make it, but the ones who do... they have power that is hard for me to match. Shinjiro of Kirgakure bagged many bodies in the war, killed a lot of allied forces. Taiga, the ghost of Konoha, is impossible to catch and equally dangerous. And Sou...." Hayate seemingly broke for a moment.

Despite having been playing it as a tough guy, something broke deep inside him and he paused. The headmaster instantly took note, and put his hand on the Raikage's shoulde.r

"Anyhow, in history the Genma once ruled us, but we beat them, harnessed their powers, and those who did, the Jinchuuriki became gods."

"Time for your ascension, kid."

The stern an slightly menacing look of the god they call the Raikage emulated throughout the room. This man had the ability to be both humbling and overwhelming in the same breath. This was something the young boy was not really used to. In fact for the most part, his teachers and mentors eventually gave him less attention the more he bothered them. Standing straight up as the Raikage stood over him, the power difference was immense and Aki could truly feel it. What the young lad didn't expect was the full depth of power that the Hosts' of Genma could be able to obtain. The opportunity to stand out and be different was something he didn't take likely.

After the adults finished talking, Aki folded his arms and looked the Raikage straight in the eyes. Another slight change in his facial expression resulted in a rather serious look. The glimmer in his eyes reflected excitement and eagerness.

"This one time I will admit, you are right. We are all expendable, it is the reality of being a shinobi. I don't know much about the Genma that I would be a host of if I survive, but I would be honored to jump in to this opportunity."

The delinquent was excited to get rolling. However, what Aki didn't know was what was cruelty awaiting in him. A trial for the merging process was nothing short of experience death. However, with ignorance and conviction, he was ready to give it a shot.

He cleared his throat and waved his hand. Some of the hooded and robed figures, along with the researcher would scurry along pulling Akihiko with him as everyone quickly made way to leave the room. There'd be release papers, talks with parents & the clan, and a bit more stuff to do before the sealing commenced, but they would begin preparatory tests and what they could for now. Finally, when the room was empty, it would be just the Headmaster and Hayate- whose hand seemed to be clenched around the edge so hard the wood was splintering.

The Headmaster took a moment to lock eyes with Hayate while letting out a sight.

"It's not your fault, Lord." he said, before taking a bow and following the others out the room. Hayate's hand quivered before finally releasing the edge of the table.

Sou... was not even the first. How many more of our villages youth will we send to their deaths for these blasted Genma.

Hayate's words to the boy were the words of a leader, but morally, it pained him very much.
With that, Akihiko would be in line to be the next host...
