Traditions: Training in the samurai arts.
Influence: While their influence is minimum, even though they are one of the oldest families in the country, it is due to a lack of desire for such influence rather than lack of ability to gain it.
History The Mizutane clan date back to the formation of Konohagakure and the creation of the Acadamy, assiting in teaching the basics of martial arts to the first generation of students. Once the acadamy and village were stable they chose not to join the village proper and instead settled in nearby Tea country. They brought with them the basics of Ninjutsu and continued to hone their swordsmanship each becoming masters of Iaido and augmenting it with the Shinobi arts. The mizutane clan wandered and found themselves a relatively new part of Heart and some surviving members can be found in places other than the newly established heart Shogunate. However, these are few and far between now.
A year hence, there was a clan split, between the clan members that wanted to stay in Konohagakure and those who wanted to join heart. The ones who defected to Heart were hunted down, including the head, Katonrai, Lin. Lin dealt the final blow to the Konohagakure faction, dividing it into smaller, unbound factions and joined in with Heart, enjoying the freedoms and privlidges that a new power afforded them, along with the technological advances of the newer Shogunate.
The scattered remnants that didn't join heart soon found that joining the main family was advantageous, but they did so with a caveat. Those who were not born into heart, or didn't join Lin in the first exodus out of Konohagakure have been branded on their backs, between their shoulder blades with a leaf broken by a sword. The Mizutane clan members now, that do not have their allegiance sworn to Heart are seen as open enemies of the Heart Mizutane clan.

Clan Jutsu
Mizutane breathing:[Mizutane Breathing]
~[Mizutane Breathing • Sheer focus]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The first rank of Mizutane breathing allows for the user to focus their blade to slash with the edge against their target every time. This effectively allows for the user to make deeper slashes, and avoid breaking their blade against harder surfaces that would normally chip or break their sword.
~[Mizutane Breathing • Calm focus]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: *[Mizutane Breathing • Sheer focus]
The second rank of Mizutane breathing allows for the user to flick their sword with increased accuracy, making it easier to place a particular part of the blade to their target such as the tip, the base, or the middle of the sword. This allows for the Mizutane clan member to fight with a damaged blade or even a broken blade.
~[Mizutane Breathing • Elemental breathing]
B-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: *[Mizutane Breathing • Calm focus] [20 control]
The third rank of Mizutane breathing allows for the user to focus their blade to slash through harder targets than normal by focusing their element into the edge of their blade. This technique enhances the edge of their blade and makes it strike with an additional [control/10] strength.
~[Mizutane Breathing • Barrier Breathing]
A-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: *[Mizutane Breathing • Elemental breathing] [25 strength] [25 speed]
The fourth rank of Mizutane breathing allows for the user to focus their blade to block incoming blows with the flat of their blade or the back, which allows for the blade to always be sharp. The way that they do this is to redirect the flow of the attacks with their blade, changing the trajectory, allowing them to change the trajectory if their [strength] is greater than the blow’s [strength]
~[Mizutane Breathing • One with Blade]
S-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: *[Mizutane Breathing • Barrier Breathing] [30 strength] [30 speed]
The final rank of Mizutane breathing allows for the user to focus their blade to land precise blows. The Mizutane is able to redirect blows per the Barrier Breathing technique and counter attack when they are inside of their opponent’s defenses. Attacks that land this way have +3 to [strength] and are highly precise, aiming for chinks in armor, and for the soft spots of the body such as the armpits, groin, the backs of knees, necks, eyes, nose, midriff, ankles, wrists, and fingers.
Dotoken Style:--[Dotoken Style] combines Iaido style with Doton to create a style of swordsmanship unique to the Mizutane clan. Each strike is enhanced with Doton chi and applies its passive effect.
~[Iaido Dotoken • Earth’s grip]
D-Rank Nintai Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 10 Speed, *[Mizutane Breathing • Sheer focus].
Drawing the blade at a blinding speed, the user channels Doton into the back of the sword, adding [control] strength to the slash along with the Doton passive. The first time that this blade touches an organic substance, the doton spreads at [control] strength for up to 1 meter, encasing that object but not the sword for up to 2 posts.
~[Iaido Dotoken • Earth’s tremor]
C-Rank Nintai Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 15 Speed, [Iaido • Death’s Gate].
Drawing upon the superlative speed of Iaido while channeling Doton into their blade, the practitioner momentarily torques the muscles in their body to draw their sword from its scabbard and deliver a blindingly fast slash before sheathing their blade. The speed of the draw combined with the channeled Doton results in a Doton blade being drawn behind the blade striking with [Control] strength and attempting to encase up to 2 meters of substance while applying the Doton passive. Properly reading this attack requires the opponent to have a Perception technique of equal or higher rank than this technique. Otherwise, they cannot accurately read the attack and will be unlikely to completely avoid the attack, if at all.
~[Iaido Suiken • Stalagmite Strike]
B-Rank Nintai Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 20 Speed, [Iaido • Phantom Funeral].
The superlative speed of Iaido combined with channeling Doton chi, momentarily torquing the muscles in their arms, the practitioner manages slashes and they spawn Doton Spikes of Dotoken that erupt after, following the trajectory of their original attack. This attack spawns a single row of Doton Stalagmites of 2 meters tall that travels up to a number of meters equal to [Control], and hits with [Control] Strength. If this technique is used in tangent with a melee attack, the weapon’s blade strikes immediately before the Doton attack is finished, potentially sealing the opponent's guard and creating an opening. This technique can be used in conjunction with other techniques.
~[Dotoken • Earth’s Patience Stance]
A-Rank Nintai Stance
Channeling Doton and assuming the proper stance, the user raises a cloak of Doton chi with [Control] strength out to a distance of [Control/5] meters. Anything of lower strength inside the cloak is pushed along the edge of the jutsu, in a swirling circular motion one meter, plus per difference in strength from the Earth around the user per post. Anything of equal strength is held back unable to advance. The user breaks the stance upon attacking creating a sudden explosion of Doton Splinters the size and shape of Senbon at [Control] strength and speed, out to [Control] meters. This applies the Doton passive.
~[Dotoken • Stone’s Repose]
S-Rank Nintai Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 35 Speed, 25 Control, [Dotoken • Earth’s Patience Stance].
Initiated from the Patience stance, the user tensions their muscles to release a super sonic attack that coalesces the chi cloak around the blade before instantly dashing forward up [Speedx2] meters and delivering a devastating slash, unleashing the stored Doton on the target. On impact the target is encased in swirling Doton chi of [Control] strength constantly pressing in from all different directions for [Control/5] posts. This also moves the victim 2 meters underground per post that they’re encased. The quasi-teleportation effect of this technique constitutes the use of one of the character's two teleportation uses per thread.
Suiken Style:--[Suiken Style] combines Iaido style with Suiton to create a style of swordsmanship unique to the Mizutane clan. Each strike is enhanced with Suiton chi and applies its passive effect.
