[In a country of the Blind, the one-eyed man is king]

General Information Age: 18

Height: 5’7

Hair: Ichiro’s hair is black and of medium length, his bangs fall just short of his eyes and tuffs of his hair often stick up throughout his head. His hair covers his ears and extends to the nape of his neck. Once he would keep his hair short and tidy though since being on the road he seldom cuts his hair, though he does his best to keep it relatively clean and combed.

Eyes: The boy’s eyes are a distinct, almost eerie ice blue. His gaze is a determined one, filled with ambition and purpose. He does his best to banish emotions of weakness from portraying themselves in his eyes. Life on the road is a harsh one after all and confidence and power are far more important for survival. It should also be noted however that the boy’s eyes tend to gleam with intelligence, ever vigilant and watchful of his surroundings, analyzing situations, forming strategies, and constantly plotting.

Physical Features: Now entering adulthood Ichiro’s body has developed well, maintaining an athletic figure. He stretches regularly, maintaining his flexibility and speed. His muscles have some distinct toning to them from his days hiking across the continent and practicing kenjutsu. His stomach has notable definition, having spent many days swimming and working ropes and sails aboard various ships on the open sea. His skin is unmarred and mostly clear though often coated with some degree of dirt or sea salt depending on his most recent means of travel. The young man's smile is kind and charming when applicable while his nose and jawline are well-proportioned and strong. Overall he is a handsome young man capable of drawing some attention from women though mostly blending in with a crowd and only giving off a moderate impression of being able to handle himself in a fight.

Clothing/Accessories: Ichiro has a strong inclination towards the color of blue. He wears simple close-toed shoes, his pants are full length and made of cloth, varying from greys to blacks. He too wears a variety of undershirts, always covered by a navy blue jacket or tunic. Occasionally he can be seen wearing a grey-blue protective vest, adapted from a Kiri uniform though with the village engraved shoulder pads removed. His final layer is a hooded black cloak which he occasionally chooses to go without, in such cases he stores it in his leather backpack. Lastly the boy wears hardened and lacquered leather shin and arm guards, both dyed a charcoal black.

Forehead Protector: Ichiro does not hail from a ninja village and therefore does not don a hitae-ate. He does however wear a blue cloth, with the symbol of the waterfall country sewn into it, tied to his right shoulder.

Personality: Ichiro is an enigmatic young man. He is both extremely wary and distrusting of others and yet he longs to unite individuals to his cause. Often he will seem distant, ever vigilant and cautious though he has a noble heart within, he cares about people and is willing to lend a hand to save a life or help someone in need, though not blindly, he will always assess the risk with the reward.

An extremely cunning individual the boy possesses natural machinations. Once the boy has set his mind to something he will stop at nothing to achieve his goal, namely his dream of restoring the Waterfall country to prosperity and more specifically building a hidden village named Takigakure. Despite his usual caution this does cause him to at moments be afflicted by impulsiveness. He is also, not by any means immune to fear or any of the usual emotions that a person may experience, he is very much raw to the world of fighting and bloodshed, though his insatiable will allows him to persevere despite whatever hardship he may experience.

Often Ichiro worries; about his family back home, about the success of his plans, and whether or not he can achieve his goal, though this worry is far from being enough to actually dissuade him. In his mind his dream is achievable. He is not however naïve as he knows that much sacrifice and suffering will be required, affecting both his life and others. This is a price however that he is willing to pay. Nonetheless he is still a boy and has yet to kill anyone, though has had a few minor skirmishes with thugs who have tried to rob him.

Lastly Ichiro is highly ambitious, his morality able to waver to align with whoever is capable of helping him achieve his goals. He also has a tremendous fascination with the human body and wishes to learn medical jutsu so he can further his studies in order to develop new kinds of abilities for his people, and ultimately to ensure strength and diversity among the members of the new village, as well as his countrymen as a whole. In this endeavor he maintains the belief that the ends will justify the means.

Suiton Affinity
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Suiton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Suiton affinity. Suiton has a passive enveloping effect.
Passive (Enveloping)Show
Suiton's effect is enveloping, meaning that suiton passively surrounds anything that it makes contact with. Suiton techniques that do not last over periods of times (i.e, exploding techniques) drench their opponents, but long term techniques will envelop anything they come in contact with and maintain a hold on it with the 3/4th strength of the technique, rounded down. This means that if a suiton wave is shot forward with 17 strength, it will envelope and move anything with it that does not have more than 12 strength to resist it. This allows Suiton to fill a very powerful role in eliminating tools from opponent's access and capturing targets.

A character with this concentration is able to utilize Raiton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Raiton affinity. Raiton has a shocking effect.
Passive (Shocking)Show
Raiton has the effect of shocking, which means causes it's effect to be diffuse upon impact. In organic material, this causes nervous stimulation which results in numbness, tingling, loss of sensation, and sometimes paralysis. In inorganic material, this means that the strength of the jutsu diffuses across an area 2x the size of the attack. In a jutsu that creates a lightning ball 2m in diameter, if it struck a wall the size of the attack would cover a 4m area.

Additionally, the strength of the nervous effect on organic material from raiton jutsu is determined by the ninjutsu stat requirement.

This concentration allows for the user to user chakra to affect the biological processes of a living creature. This includes modifying, speeding up, or slowing down the biological processes. Iijutsu is known for it's advanced nature and requires precise chakra control to work effectively. It can be differentiated from normal techniques by the faint light green colour of the chakra used in Iijutsu techniques.
Sword Weapons:
The fundamental skill of [Sword Weapons] indicates the user’s proficiency with swords and sword-like weapons such as knives, daggers, sword-breakers and the like. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.
Deft Hands:
The fundamental skill of [Deft Hands] indicates the user’s proficiency with using their hands in very specific and complex movements, like sleight of hand and targeting very small and specific points on an opponent’s body. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu in various ways.
The fundamental skill of [Medicine] describes the user’s mental and physical ability to perform traditional and mainstream medicinal practices. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.

After completing a set of handseals, the user forms a slight chakra 'body', thus creating a single, massless clone. The clone created from this technique is very basic and will dissipate when hit with anything. These clones do not possess vital signs or a unique chakra signature, meaning they don't disrupt the environment, and anything on their person is superficial. The clone has 1 in each stat. They are limited to basic movements.

After completing the needed handseals, the user of this technique will be able to alter their physical appearance to match that of another person. By consistently emitting chakra throughout their body, the user is able to keep their appearance adjusted at the cost of their stamina draining over time. As this technique is quite strenuous to uphold, experienced shinobi may see more clearly through this delusive disguise. This technique lasts for a number of posts equal to that of the user's stamina.

A jutsu used with the purpose of activating seals and a range of devices and weapons, this technique begins with a single handseal. Once this has been performed, the user will focus a dollop of their chakra into what they are looking to activate in order to complete the task. Seals activated with this technique must be within 20 + (Control/2) meters of the user's position.

By focusing chakra into his/her feet, the user is able to walk up trees and other vertical surfaces in a similar fashion to walking along the ground. This chakra amount must be precise, and although all shinobi learn this technique, the user's control stat will determine how well this jutsu can be executed. Users with low control 2 or lower will often fall during the use of this technique, while users with average control 3 or higher will be able to use this technique functionally. It lasts for a number of posts equal to the user's stamina stat times 3.

A variation of the Act of Tree Climbing technique, this jutsu requires the user to focus a precise and balanced amount of charka into the soles of his/her feet. By doing so, the user is able to walk on the surface of water as though it were a solid surface. Users with low control 2 or lower are much more likely to fall through the surface of the water, while users with average control 3 or higher will be able to use this technique functionally. It lasts for a number of posts equal to the user's stamina stat.

After completing the necessary handseals, the user is able to quickly substitute his/her body with a nearby object that is at least 2/3rds his/her size, but no bigger than their body. This substitution allows the object to take the force of the attack that was meant for the user, additionally allowing the user to create distance between him/her and the opponent. The object used in this jutsu may not be objects that are imbued with chakra or controlled by it, and they may also only be single, solid objects within a 20 metre radius of the user. This technique may only be used a total of one time in a single thread, give or take how many times Shunshin no Jutsu has already been used.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will spray water created from the inside of their chest through their mouth. Once the water is expelled, it will form an umbrella shape that is concave to the user and about two meters in diameter. This defense is somewhat solid and can be formed in any direction the user can spit, up to five meters away. The defense is shot at a speed of 5 and has a strength of 5 and unless completely destroyed it lasts for three posts before falling lifelessly to the ground.

The user will form the necessary handseals, causing rain to begin pouring down from the sky from an elevation of 10 meters, similarly covering a 10x10 meter area in rainfall that comes down with 7 speed and 3 strength. The rains will persist for a total of 4 posts, capable of completely drenching anyone remaining within the area and causing a total accumulation of about 6 inches of water within the area.

The user must first form the needed handseals before spraying water outward from oneself or focusing on existing water on another target within 10 meters of the user. The water will spray at a Speed of 8 and impact with 2 Strength, spreading outward to cover a 5-meter radius in a thin, almost mist-like spray of water. This will leave the affected target completely dry. If the targeted water contains foreign chakra then this technique will only work if the user has higher control than the creator of the foreign chakra.

After forming handseals, the user will focus on existing water around them pulling in the water from within a 10-meter area at a speed of 3 into a sphere of water no bigger than 3 meters in diameter. The sphere will then hover in the air for 4 posts before falling to the ground. This mass of water will contain 7 Strength, capable of impeding the movement of anyone who might attempt to pass through the liquid.

After forming the needed hand seals, the user touches a body of water. Then, the water becomes purified of germs, bacteria, disease and other organic materials. In addition, the water becomes 'pure' which can be used for many different things. However, this does not eliminate foreign chakra from the water. This technique can purify up to five litres of water per post, and can be used for every point of stamina the user has, meaning that the user may simply purify five litres in one post, ten litres in two and so forth. While using this technique, the user must be constantly touching the water and cannot use any other techniques.

After performing the correct hand seals the user expels a massive conical water torrent that drenches an area thoroughly, capable of soaking a meter down nearly instantly for soil and like materials. The cone spreads to a width of 10 meters and extends 15 meters, traveling at a speed of 10 and pushing things back with a strength of 10.

After performing the correct hand seals the user creates a clone of themselves comprised completely of suiton chakra. This clone is incapable of jutsu, however its liquid nature makes it a very capable taijutsu combatant capable of reforming its body and limbs. This clone lasts for 5 posts.

Created to safely incapacitate opponents, after performing the correct hand seals, if the opponent is within 15 meters and is standing a top a body of water with the user's chakra in it, the user will begin to churn their chakra causing the water to turn into a vortex and engulf the opponent, trapping them in a vortex about two meters in diameter. Once the target is inside, the user must hold the last seal and cannot use any other techniques, capable of holding this for up to five posts. In order to escape, the target must have at least 10 strength to physically make their way out, or the user must be disrupted. Most shinobi would pass out after two posts due to a lack of oxygen. However, if a target possesses a stamina stat higher than 10, it would require three posts for them to pass out. Should the target possess a stamina stat above 20, it would require five posts for them to pass out, but anything higher than 30 would allow them to resist passing out altogether.

After performing the correct hand seals the user covers their body in a layer of visible static which crackles around them for 4 posts. Anything which comes within 6 inches of their body will be repelled with a force of 5 strength and have the Raiton Shocking effect applied.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will extend two fingers toward a target. A bolt of lightning will jump up to 10 meters from their fingers at a speed of 6, striking with a strength of 4.

C-ranked Raiton Jutsu
After performing the correct hand seals, the user will seep Raiton chakra in an area around them with a 20m diameter. This will produce an electric current on the ground in this area visible as crackling lightning on the surface. Any other than the user who step into this zone will have the shocking effect applied and their legs will sustain first degree electrical burns. This current lasts 3 posts, while it ends immediately if the user leaves the area.
Yoshin Kenjutsu
Waterfall Country's samurai are the creators of Yoshin, a style of Kenjutsu honing one's precision to strike more precisely than any needle or arrow at the enemy's inherent weaknesses. The human body is full of natural weak spots and vulnerabilities, and Yoshin takes full advantage of those weaknesses in combat with calculated, precise, intelligent strikes and thrusts to cripple and cut down their opponent. Common joints, unseen nerve endings and nerve clusters, critical tendons and muscle groups, and even vital organs are all fair game to the users of Yoshin. The precision required for this style causes most users of its techniques to prefer short blades such as kodachi and wakizashi, often with serrated edges to maximize damage on the blade exiting the wound, though katana can still be used with this style.

Detailed knowledge of the human body's vulnerabilities and weaknesses are fundamental to learning Yoshin. This Discipline represents the practitioner's knowledge of the precise location of all major organs, tendons, blood vessels, and nerve clusters on both their body and the opponent's body. This allows the practitioner to accurately target those areas even in the heat of combat.

After taking the opponent's side either offensively or after evading an attack, the practitioner draws a quick, firm slash across the opponent's side, such as their oblique, rib cage, or arm. The attack is intended to both injure and startle the opponent, often used to disrupt an opponent's attack or sequence of attacks with the severity of the damage. A unique attack within Yoshin, this particular technique is meant to dig as deeply into the opponent as possible, many times slashing into bones to cause as much long term damage as possible. The depth of the cut can also cause serious blood loss over time.

Prerequisite(s): 8 Taijutsu, 8 Speed.
Forgoing the typical practice of aiming one's blows to do the most critical damage possible, the practitioner instead lashes out at the opponent with a quick snapping slash or thrust. If the attack lands, the practitioner curves and angles the edge of their blade along the cut, making a shallower, irregular cut. While these cuts rarely cause any serious damage on their own, the nature of the cut not only make them difficult to mend or stitch, they also contribute to significant blood loss over time and are incredibly painful for the opponent. This can make moving and executing techniques more difficult for an opponent hit by this technique.

Prerequisite(s): 8 Taijutsu, 8 Speed.
Aiming to hinder the opponent's mobility, the practitioner launches a quick snapping slash or thrust at the side of one of the opponent's knees, damaging the tendon and causing the muscles in the joint to flare up. Aside from causing significant pain, an opponent hit by this technique will not be able to fully support their weight on the targeted leg, hindering their mobility and creating additional openings for the practitioner to exploit.

Prerequisite(s): 8 Taijutsu, 8 Speed, *[Yoshin • Prey's Anatomy]
Looking to cause the opponent as much pain as possible with minimal energy or effort, the practitioner launches a quickly snapping thrust meant to slip through the ribcage and lightly cut the outside of one of the opponent's lungs. Aside from causing significant pain, an opponent hit by this technique will have difficulty breathing, causing future techniques they use to take up more physical stamina due to oxygen deprivation.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A technique to disarm opponents, the practitioner launches a snapping slash or thrust at the opponent's forearm, severing several key tendons in the forearm. The damage caused to the muscles and tendons in the forearm by this technique can cause an opponent to drop whatever they are holding. Aside from being disarmed and causing significant pain, this technique also imposes a persisting -3 Strength penalty on the opponent due to the damage the muscles have sustained. This penalty can be lifted if the opponent receives medical attention.

Through copious amounts of studying Ichiro has come to learn the various indigenous plants of Waterfall country and other forested regions. This knowledge is useful in determining not only which plants and berries are edible but also which serve best for building structures, using for fires, and most importantly which herbs are best suited for medicinal purposes.

D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Combining a mixture of herbs and mustard seeds carried in his herb pouch Ichiro is able to create a grimy paste which can be applied to wounds to stymie bleeding and more importantly to prevent infection. This paste is only effective for minor wounds and must be reapplied every few hours or 5 posts in combat for maximum efficiency.

Fever Remedy
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
By mixing a variety of herbs into water and bringing it to a boil Ichiro can brew a tea which when consumed will aid in relieving one of the symptoms of a flu or fever. For optimal effectiveness one should consume several cups of tea over the course of 3-5 hours. This tea has the added benefit of helping to flush toxins or poisons out of one’s system, effectively reducing the duration of D or C rank poisons by 1 post.

The user knows how to utilize bandages, wrapping a wound in a manner that creates a near-perfect barrier from external forces, keeping the wound clean from bacteria. The bandage is tucked in place, preventing it from falling off, though excessive rubbing, pulling, or getting the bandage wet can cause it to fall off.

Unlike the mystical means of diagnosis utilized through iijutsu, those who utilize the Arts of Medicine must learn the most effective manner to assess a patient. Learners of this discipline have learn the most effective manner to diagnose a patient, starting at the head, and assessing for head wounds, then moving down through the torso, both arms, the groin area, both legs, then the back. Those who learn this discipline will be able to account for any wounds that present with physical symptoms on a patient.

In the case of injected venoms and poisons, the user is able to assess the site of injection, and properly cut off circulation, and roll veins, to force out the poison or venom. So long as they begin within the first post of injection, they can prevent the effects of the venom or poison.

Perhaps one of the most important disciplines of any aspiring Medic, one who has mastered this Discipline can maintain a clear mind when treating patients. Techniques C-rank and below that effect their emotional spectrum, or attempts at distracting them will have no effect while they are treating patients.

D-Ranked Ninjutsu
This highly useful field technique is applied to bleeding wounds to help encourage the coagulation of the blood. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will hover them over the bleeding wound and begin to channel chakra through it. The chakra will began to thicken the blood, causing it to clot. Wounds must be dealt with one at a time, and the number of wounds that can be tended to within the three (3) posts that this technique lasts depends on their size. Small wounds take very little time to clot, while moderate wounds take one (1) post of concentration to clot, and large wounds take two (2) posts to clot. Although this technique stops the bleeding, the wound remains vulnerable and will require further care after this has been performed.

D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After performing the hand seals and pricking the opponent with some sort of small weapon (usually senbon), the opponent feels their arms and legs fall asleep. It feels as if the blood flow to these appendages has basically stopped, making their movements a tad sluggish and just all around uncomfortable. This jutsu doesn’t really hinder a person, but it makes everything they do feel off. For those who are attuned to the way their body feels during battle, it can be extremely distracting. Lasts 3 posts.

Ichiro was born in a moderate sized farming village in the North Eastern portion of Waterfall Country. His father; Takeda Masato was a fairly wealthy man, who served as the village leader and for his services in managing the farms of his village was paid well by the Daimyo of the nation. His mother on the other hand was born with the name of Ito Setsuko, she had been raised in Kirigakure and had fled the village while on a mission at the age of 19 as a Chunin. Quite simply she had broken mentally from the loss of her comrades, whom as a medical ninja she had failed to save. She faked her death rather than continuing to fight, which in the chaos of 2 of her other comrades being killed, was a farily easy feat to accomplish. Her last squad member however narrowly managed to escape and report back to kiri the loss of his unit. The enemies had left the bodies to pursue the surviving team member giving Setsuko an opportunity to escape. Rather than returning to the village though she decided to abandon the life of a shinobi. For three years Setsuku travelled throughout the minor countries, starting in Grass country and working her way down to bird country, never staying in one town for more than a few weeks. She covered her tracks well, using a different name in every town and only taking odd jobs, never using her shinobi arts. Often she would change her appearance and several times she had caught wind that there were hunter-ninja inquiring about her whereabouts. After years of using her high intelligence to stay ahead of her pursuers she quickly passed through the outskirts of earth country and began moving through the towns of Waterfall Country. Eventually she settled in one village after falling in love with the man who ran it. She had been using the alias of Kaori at the time and as such decided to make it her permanent name. After years of living day-to-day, struggling and barely able to afford food and housing Setsuku was finally able to settle down and live comfortably, eventually even being blessed with a family.

Childhood was kind to the boy. He had access to private tutors and learned how to read and right as well as other schooling such as art, arithmetic, history, and biology. Sciences and anatomy in particular held appeal to the boy, though his mother instructed him in the basic ways of medicine she refrained from sharing her ninjutsu knowledge. No one knew about her background and she wouldn’t endanger her family by exposing her shinobi past. Despite their fortune however, his parents insisted that Ichiro work the local farms several days a week in order to build character and discipline. Even his younger sister Sayuri was brought up to do chores and help out on farms with ‘women’s’ work such as cooking and sewing.

At the age of 8 Ichiro began training at the Yoshin style kenjutsu dojo, training regularly on the weekends while still maintaining his studies and farm work. The dojo was several hours from his village by horseback though he would always travel with a hired escort for protection. By the time he was 12 the boy was permitted to no longer work the farms and instead dedicate his time to intellectual matters and his kenjutsu training. He had even begun to spend days at a time at the dojo.

One year later tragedy struck, the soul Genma had begun a rampage through his country, demolishing many villages and raising the dead in a swath of destruction across the land. Fortunately the horrors took place throughout the central and western regions of the country and then continued south, leaving his village and the dojo he trained at un-harmed. Months later however an aftermath of the attack plagued areas of the country, a sickness had begun to spread due to contamination of the rivers and soil from rotting bodies.

Eventually the sickness reached Ichiro's village. At the time of first discovery Ichiro had been at the Dojo, where he had been urged to stay by a messenger sent by his father. His younger sister Sayuri was among the first to be afflicted. Takeo’s father moved to a safe-house while Ichiro remained at the dojo and Kaori (his mother) tended to Sayuri, drawing on her medical experience to tend to her daughter and keep her alive. The village was cut off and those that were sick were quarantined, the bodies of the dead burned. Crops died with nobody to tend to them and the village was thrown into turmoil. After a month Kaori left her daughters bed-side, she had begun to recover. Once her daughter was stable Kaori took control over the matters of the village, working tirelessly to treat those who were sick and to take the proper precautions to prevent it from spreading to other villages. By mid-fall the sickness had finally been purged, of a village of 150 people, 31 had died, whilst 64 had managed to recover, the rest remaining unaffected due to Kaori’s precautions. Unfortunately his mother had contracted the sickness and being too determined to save others had ultimately died as a result.

The boy returned to his home, reunited with his father and sister, though only for a few months in order to mourn for his mother. It was then that Sayuri told him about how their mother had used magic to save the village. Her and many villagers had seen it first hand and chose to honour Kaori for her sacrifice, deeming her some sort of mystical saviour. Through his studies however Ichiro realized the ability to be one of the shinobi arts and decided at that moment that he too would learn of its powers. The village’s food reserve was dangerously low and Ichiro couldn’t bear to see more of his friends die. He packed his supplies and weapons, told his sister that he would return and that he loved her and then at the age of 14he left. His goal was simple, become stronger, learn medical ninjutsu and return with allies so that his village would never face such hardship again.

Within a few months of leaving home Ichiro came across a healer named Saigo who had set up a triage in southern Waterfall country. It hadn't taken long to discover that the man was a shinobi and so Ichiro devoted himself to the man, learning much in the principals of chakra and medical techniques as he helped in the clinic for several weeks before departing to Marsh Country. The journey was long and in that time Ichiro finally learned some basic applications of chakra as well as discovering his primary affinity for Suiton. Not long after arriving in Marsh Country to assist in bolstering the defences of a small village and tend to their people, Saigo departed, claiming that he had important business to take care of that would be too dangerous for Ichiro to come along. Staying in the village for the remainder of the year Ichiro grew impatient and frustrated at his lack of progress without his mentor and so he set off on his own.

His travels brought him to Fur Country where he took in the festivities and encountered several shinobi and minor folk alike who could wield chakra. It was here that he finally mastered the basic techniques with the assistance of a Sunagakure shinobi by the name of Zao. He too furthered his understanding of Suiton practicing alongside a handful of others like himself. Of course he knew the protection of the festival wouldn't last forever and so he set off before it ended, having caught some negative attention from a Konoha shinobi. His travels brought him to Water Country, birthplace of his mother, though Ichiro was cautious not to interact with any Kiri shinobi, instead searching for work as his financial situation grew dire. Fortunately the now sixteen year old was able to secure a position aboard a ship with a man named Kaisui and his younger sister. As it turned out the group of teenagers ended up resorting to minor piracy in order to keep themselves fed, traveling the seas for over a year together aboard a small ship until eventually they drew the attention of Kirigakure. Kaisui, whom was a former shinobi himself from Kumogakure, managed to draw the attention to himself and allow Ichiro and his sister to escape together to Tea Country where the girl promptly ran off to fend for herself.
