Arm Wrestling Competition

Post by Ace Trainer » Wed Oct 30, 2019 3:07 pm

The arm wrestling had gotten a lot more viewers than Kozaki had expected. But, it wasn't that surprisingly. Kozaki was a loud mouth and drew the eye with his tattoos and bright eyes, Iwamaru, despite being so stout, was also very short. So it would certainly be difficult for any self respecting strong man to turn down such an obvious in your face dare. There secret was chakra, however, and even though people had to know shinobi were here (it was, after all, a shinobi event), there was no telling how strong this little short guy really was.

Finally the time was there, and there was a good number of people waiting to get their try. Kozaki checked on Iwamaru, giving him a thumbs up and a raised eye brow, but Iwamaru looked all business. Well...he always did. In this short amount of time knowing him, Kozaki was confident Iwamaru was a bit stale in the social department, hopefully this would loosen him up a little.

"Alright! you're first buddy!", he pointed to a man waiting, he was large, but not exactly the biggest guy in the group. Might as well give Iwamaru a warm up right? Perhaps the most noteable feature on this guy was his long hair, done into a braid and hanging down to his waist. Flinging it back over his shoulder, the man sat down on a chair to Kozaki's right at the table his was standing on. Kozaki gestured to Iwamaru to sit to his left, then jumped down off the table.

"Alright boys, standard rules, first one down loses. Elbow stays in the boot, no thumb diddling, and no crying when ya lose.", he winked at the challenger.

Placing his hand on top of their clasped fists, Kozaki nodded to each, then counted down,

"Three..Two...One.....GO!"", and he released. It was Iwamaru's turn now.

Well, Iwamaru was the spectacle of a sideshow. He might as well try to enjoy himself in the thrill of the challenge.

Kozaki’s showmanship and plethora of tattoos had drawn a large crowd, many hungry eyes staring the boy down, looking to put him in his place and make a quick bit of cash. Part of Iwamaru’s seriousness came from a desire to maintain humility. He had plenty of positive reinforcement from his brethren back in Iwa. Jousai was filled with a litany of powerful shinobi, yet even with how recently he’d been initiated, he was a person of note, even to one like Tatsuo, a man qualified to be Tsuchikage.

Pride had its place, but given free reign, it was dangerous. It would make him take risks that were foolish, or make airs that would garner him more enemies than allies. Each opponent would receive his all. It was both the fair and humble thing to do.

Iwamaru sized up his opponent. He was mighty in size, and he certainly seemed to be fit. Giving a respectful nod to his opponent, he quickly clasped hands. Feeling the chakra flow through his muscles, he readied himself.

Kozaki called the start of the match, and Iwamaru was still waiting. His eyes shifted from determination to confusion as his opponent’s face grew increasingly red from strain. Veins started popping on his face and neck, and his arm trembled as he put all of his strength into his arm. With not the slightest bit of effort, Iwamaru smoothly bent his opponent’s arm and pinned it to the table, finishing the match. The look of bewilderment nearly solicited a laugh from Iwamaru’s lips, but he held himself back, allowing himself a slight grin as he nodded to his bested opponent.

The crowd was likely in an uproar at the sight of a mere teenager toppling such a physical titan. Whom else would step up to challenge him?

Kozaki crossed his arms, his slightly content face quickly transforming to a smug smirk to a shit eating grin as the fully grown man struggled to achieve any sort of traction against this....well child, really. Kozaki waited patiently, he was surprised that Iwamaru even let it last this long, he was almost expecting the guy to simply elect to immediately demolish anyone. But instead he played with him, maybe Iwamaru was a little more mischievous than he was letting on. As quickly as it started, however, it ended, and Iwamaru's arm came crashing down on top of his opponents. Kozaki jumped into the air, fist pumping as he did so, "And the victory goes to my stout friend over here!", he said slapping his hand on Iwamaru's shoulder.

Kozaki winked at the boy again before throwing both arms into the air, leaping onto the table and looking over the crowd, " Come now! He's barely even broken a sweat again this fella with the hair! Was he the strongest among you? You next sir! Give it a shot.", Kozaki was tall for his age, but the person he called out still managed to tower over him. Easily 6'5" if not taller, the dude was an absolute goliath. "Think you can beat a kid in an arm wrestling match!?", Kozaki taunted.

The man was queued up, and simply growled at Kozaki before rolling his eyes and taking a seat. Once again, Kozaki smirked, cracking his neck and jumping down, "You know the rules gentlemen. Keep it clean.", he hand clasped over the two fists, it was incredible how much larger this mans hand was compared to Kozaki's and Iwamaru's,.

"you folks ready to see a grown man cry!? Three.....two....one!", and he released.

Iwamaru was pleasantly surprised at the ease of the challenge. He hadn’t meant to utterly humiliate the man, but Kozaki’s smugness was a little contagious. He couldn’t help the grin that rose to his face as his first opponent limped away, cradling his arm. Kozaki seemed absolutely smitten with Iwamaru’s performance and quickly egged on the crowd to bring the next opponent forward.

His grin faded somewhat as his next opponent was nearly two feet taller than him, and he was much more muscular. Iwamaru got his game face back on as he clasped the behemoth man’s hand in his own... or what he could fit, anyways.

Kozaki called the match to start, and as their muscles clashed, Iwamaru noticed that this man was significantly stronger. Despite his strength, however, Iwamaru was much stronger still. Much like the first gentleman, he allowed the opponent to expend his energy, though it was a bit more difficult to do so. When he’d felt the man had wasted sufficient energy, Iwamaru closed out the match.

It was a comfortable victory still, but Iwamaru now has a newfound respect for those who lived here. Even in an environment without chakra, they could still become this powerful. He gave another nod to his vanquished opponent, this one with a greater amount of respect.

Kozaki's hands rested on his hips, and as Iwamaru defeated his foe, this time he let out a boisterous laugh, throwing his head back to further emphasis the victory. "What a joke!", he exclaimed, collecting the money from the bettors, who were starting to wise up. But still, Iwamaru was only a young teenager, it was hard to believe he couldn't be beaten. As the man stood, excusing himself from the shame, Kozaki let out another laugh, "Grown men! Defeated by a young boy and his broad shoulders! This is quite the show isn't it Iwamaru!? What a weak group of people this village is.", personally insulting, but mostly teasing.

Confidently, Kozaki leapt back up on the table, spreading his arms out against the looked through the crowds before grabbing Iwamaru by the wrist and bringing his hand into the air, "No one wants to challenge my young friend here!? Represent your people with pride, surely someone has the strength to boast to defeat him!", it was hard to tell who's team Kozaki was really on. Was he just scamming people, or was he really trying to find someone who could beat Iwamaru.

"What say you, Iwamaru, see any worthy adversaries?", he asked. Kozaki was really enjoying this.

Arm Wrestling Competition

The young Karagata found himself annoyed where he should have been elated. He had just fought in the final round of the Taijutsu division, though the match ended far quicker than he had anticipated. In fact, of his three matches in the tournament, each one had been faster and more decisive than the last. It was a little disappointing and in fact boring, despite his high competitive drive he still enjoyed a proper challenge. ‘The world will now know our power. The Jinchurriki of the Legendary Vorashu, Phantom beast of Body. The weak will cower before us, crawling at our feet where they belong’ The Genma boasted, elated at the victory. The spirit disdained humanity and reveled at every opportunity to assert dominance over others, even if he was still caged within one. In time he might yet drive Shinjiro towards slaughtering his own people, though until then he would take pleasure in every opportunity to fight. ‘Feels kind of pointless without even being able to kill any of them’ Shinji retorted, of course, his fellow Kirigakure shinobi would have been spared but he would rather the Kumo Jounin and that persistent Konoha shinobi be dead. It irritated him that he had fought Zakuro twice now and yet he still walked the earth. ‘The time will come. They will yet be feasted upon’ Vorashu vowed, eager to see a conflict between the shinobi villages. If anyone were to kill shinobi from foreign lands it would surely be Shinjiro, his skills were of great use to the Mizukage and he already had proven himself capable and reliable of achieving such feats.

As the youngest and newest member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist Shinji hadn’t yet had the honor as serving as the Mizukage’s bodyguard, that duty was often taken by the Hitachi twins as he liked to call them. Despite them not being related at all the Kaguya and Tsukino both had white hair, bore the same name and served as members of the Seven Swordsmen. They were each strong shinobi that Shinji hoped to defeat one day. At least within that prestigious organization, he could find worthy rivals. He only wished that Aimi had taken the offer to join the group, for he was the most skilled swordsmen Shinji had ever seen. Moving through the crowd the Special Jounin kept his hood off and his mask down, deciding to take a more casual approach than usual as he looked around for something to do. A gathering crowd caught his attention and moving through it he quickly discovered that a pair of teenagers, about the same age as himself though a little shorter had set up an arm-wrestling challenge. He didn’t immediately recognize either of them or notice any village insignia’s but he still knew a shinobi when he saw one. Moving toward the front of the line several individuals parted before him, recognizing him from the tournament. His outfit adorned with the symbols of the Karagata, Kirigakure, and the Seven swordsmen of the mist were unmistakable in addition to the pair of Katana across his back. “Are you tired of winning yet? I can show you what defeat feels like” he offered confidently, standing before the young Iwagakure shinobi. He didn’t particularly care about their little hustle, though perhaps a demonstration that the kid wasn’t unbeatable would actually inspire others to feel they had a chance. After all Shinji appeared to be of average stature, though by now nobody would be fooled into thinking he was just some ordinary teenager.

Within the crowd, near the wall farthest away from the actual contest could be found a depressed-looking young child that from appearance alone one might have guess that he was around the age of ten or so. His clothing looked a little dirty and his hair was a bit disheveled looking as though it had never been combed before. But it was just this kind of thing that was normal for others to glance at and simply turn a blind eye as they continued on about their day. Yet, this was exactly the reason for Hyoryu to design this kind of tiny body.

It was not made for combat, only having a few offensive measures on it for those emergency situations but instead it was better outfitted for stealth and reconnassin missions in which the man needed to gather information. This festival was the perfect time fro that as he had been able to watch all the fights and then meet up with a few new prospective business clients while here as well. Today he found himself in this busy crowd as he'd been using his enhanced hearing to listen to the different conversations and determine if there was anything of worth. But that was interrupted by the words of a tattooed kid, Kozaki, who had been shouting and hyping up his companion who wasn't much older or younger in age about an arm-wrestling contest or something.

This caused for the tiny bodied Hyoryu to shake his head slightly in frustration, as this was interrupting his efforts to perform his work. Looking over with a set of dark eyes the boy watched as the fellow who had the aura of a young shinobi was able to quickly beat a couple of the local men, not an amazing feat in itself but it did prove that for a kid he did have some level of strength. As he was about to investigate a bit further into just whom these two young shinobi running this racket were a voice came over that made the man shift his gaze to the left as the crowds parted a bit and Shinji walked through. 'Ah, this one.'

Hyoryu had been watching all the tournament battles and so of course he knew who this figure was just based on sight alone, but there was something else truly familiar about the person now that he was at a better viewing range. Suddenly a mischievious smile began to form on the puppet's thin lips as he briefly remembered something that had happened not to long ago. For now he simply watched to see the show play out for a bit. ' It was him, how interesting today has become...'

Iwamaru felt the imposing presence of Shinjiro before he saw it. Despite being so young and only recently promoted to chuunin, he'd developed a keen instinct, one he'd come to rely on and one that had kept him alive. It was nothing supernatural, nothing he had honed to the point of otherworldly perception yet, but it was there. And as he turned and watched the people part for the new entrant, from his poise to his clothing and weapons to even the calm confidence he exuded, Iwamaru could tell he was not only a shinobi like himself...

...But also that he hopelessly, hilariously outclassed Iwamaru, at least in his present state.

Iwamaru stared imminent defeat straight in the eyes. He knew this was a battle lost, but perhaps this sacrifice might win the war. Turning to Kozaki and motioning him forward, he relayed simple instructions in a whisper between only the two of them:

"Mitigate our losses. Bet against me in secret. I can't beat this guy, not as I am now."

Without another word, he'd turn and nod, accepting the challenge as he motioned respectfully for Shinjiro to take his seat. Iwamaru would not disgrace himself or his opponent by bowing out. He would face him with all his might and accept defeat with dignity, learning through the humility it brought, but it could not compromise the mission they'd set out to accomplish. Iwamaru's strength was not in craftiness but in resilience. He left the behind-the-scenes facets to his partner to maneuver as he saw fit.

Iwamaru would poise his arm as he sat down, ready to clench firmly, though not tightly, around his opponent's hand. When Kozaki called the match, he'd give it his all, even in the face of unavoidable defeat.

Kotaru should, in theory, hate these sorts of events. The youngest bannin of Iwagakure was socially challenged at best, and occasions that involved huge crowds of loud people generally set his teeth on edge. But this boisterous gathering was a chance for him to see what shinobi of the other villages were capable of, and the boy had taken note of everyone who was even mildly skillful. Now that the tournament was essentially over with only one fight remaining Kotaru lost himself in the crowd, weaving between the gaps and going largely unnoticed. Normally his appearance garnered looks, but with so many shinobi in one place it was easier, somewhat, to blend in.

He eventually came across some kid riling up a crowd for arm wrestling, shouting and grinning as bets were made and money was lost. The Akari normally would have given it no attention, but a face made him pause. The kid who was doing the arm wrestling was vaguely familiar and Kotaru was sure he had seen him somewhere before outside of the context of the event. He quickly concluded he was an Iwagakure shinobi - had he seen him in the Jousai headquarters before? That must be it. A low hum reverberated in his throat as he pushed his way forward toward the front; someone as short as Kotaru needed as few tall people in front of him as possible.

He settled in a spot near the wrestlers, crossing his arms as he waited for them to begin. He stood behind the challenger, a kid from Kirigakure he recognized from a few of the fights. Kotaru snorted at the sight and impulsively decided to place a last minute bet on the Kiri nin, village loyalty and pride be damned. After what he had seen in the tournament he had very little faith that the stern-faced Iwa kid would pull through.

Kozaki smirked as Shinji came up. He knew the boy, a genma host. Famous for his use of the monster within his stomach, or at least thats where Kozaki assumed the creature lived. When Iwamaru offered for Kozaki to cut his losses, Kozaki simply smiled. Kozaki wasn't in the business of losing. Not with his new buddy. His intuition told him to let Shinji whoop Iwamaru's ass, humble the Iwagakure ninja a little bit. But, he was on a roll right now, and if Kozaki was going to make money, he needed to keep winning with Iwamaru.

Jumping off of the table, Kozaki scanned the crowd again, despite the winning streak it seemed to be growing. And he immediately noticed several bodies in the crowd that looked like shinobi. He needed to be careful. Flexing his free hand, some Samsara would leak into a closed palm, the fluid situating itself calmly. Kozaki would then place his hands no top of Iwamaru's and Shinji as he had done so many times before. As he began talking, he'd place his other hand against the edge of the table.

"Alright! The champion of the taijutsu tournament trying his strength against my mighty friend here!? What a show this will be. You gentlemen know the rules!", the Samsara from his free hand leaked onto the table, and a sharp point was formed, silently drilling into the bottom of the table....just under where Shinji's elbow would be resting.

"First one down loses! No thumb games or tricks. Keep your elbow in the cubby.", his eyes seemed to sparkle at this point, "And no snitching to the Mizukage when you lose.", he winked at Shinji. "Three....Two....One...GO!""

He released his palm from the two. Of course this time, when Shinji and Iwamaru wrestled, if Shinji exerted too much strength, the table would break under him....easy win for Iwamaru.

Having just finished watching the letdown that was the end of the Taijutsu tournament, Kiyori was a mess of nerves and anxiety as she tried to mentally prepare for her fight with none other than the Mizukage of Kirigakure. She had seen the man fight Maido, she knew full well he was a force of absolute destruction... but hopefully he would at least abide by the rules of the tournament? At the least they wouldn't kill each other, the blood pact assured her of that. But still, those nerves of hers wouldn't calm down for anything. No, what she needed was a distraction...

And as it happened, leaving the Taijutsu tournament behind her, she'd get just that; a large crowd of people surrounding what appeared to be a table for betting on Arm Wrestling? How interesting... no doubt the winner was a shinobi, she watched as the last loser, a titan of a man walked off. Only a well trained shinobi could exert enough power to topple a man like that. And as she navigated the crowd to see the participants she was found to be right; none other than the victor of the Taijutsu tournament, The body genma host... and another ninja too. An Iwa nin? He wasn't in the tournaments, so she really had no idea, but something about him told her he was shinobi. Even the announcer seemed to be a ninja, referencing the Mizukage to the young Jinchuuriki from what she could hear. well this should be interesting... Let's see how Shinji does when it's not a fight, just a challenge of pure strength. Her curiosity got the better of her, Enemy nation or not Kiyori wanted to know more about these iwa and kiri shinobi.

Shinji sat down across from the Iwa Chunin, his vibrant green eyes intense and predatory. He doubted he would have to put much effort into this but he did respect Iwamaru's unwavering commitment. The look he displayed indicated a strong will. Moving into position Shinji would remove his glove, revealing his muscular and heavily scarred hand as well as the odd ashy color of his skin, as if it had been permanently burned beyond what should have been functional. Rolling up his sleeve partially his forearms similarly bulged with dense muscle though still retaining a sense of leanness. "Two fingers is all I should need" he challenged with deadly confidence. His presence radiated danger even in a simple game such as this.

Assuming his opponent agreed to his terms he would allow the Chunin to grip his fairly long fingers which would feel as if gripping a steel bar. Shinji's arm remained firmly affixed in the standard angled position, close enough to his body to retain his full strength. He could sense that the tattooed kid was up to something and even got the sense that he was familiar with him, likely a fellow shinobi of Kirigakure. None of that really mattered though, there weren't any stakes on the line for him. He just wanted something to appease his boredom.

When the match was signalled to start, Shinji would keep his arm fixed, hoping to feel out the strength of his opponent. It seemed he had a habit of overwhelming others before he could even gain a sense of their strengths or skillset which after a while lost its appeal. If his opponent employed the same strategy as he had before then Shinji would simply slowly apply pressure until he could tell Iwamaru was near his limit. All the while he didn't have to put much if any downward force against the table, easily and casually able to rely on this finger and forearm strength without straining himself at all. "Yeah, not too bad. You have potential" he assesed dryly before deciding to get somewhat serious. Putting some more strength, about 30 into it he would begin to press his arm down, noting now the slight cracking he could hear and feel under the table.

Immediately he shot an accusing and dangerous glance at Kozaki though he eased up on the downward force and instead angled his hand sharply, putting immense strain on his opponents wrist in a way that he could easily break it, still staring at the tattooed Genin as he did so. Is this what he would prefer? To have his friends wrist broken as a consequence for foul play. Squeezing tighter between his thumb and his two fingers he would crush a small pressure point in the middle of Iwamaru's hand enough to cause significant pain some damage to the smaller bones and tendons that would make gripping difficult before casually bringing his hand down with little enough force that the table shouldn't have cracked any more than it already had. Releasing the Chunin's hand he would look back to Iwamaru, "You have more honor than your friend at least" he stated lowly before getting up and moving out of line. He wasn't sure what Kozaki had done but there was something, he knew his own strength and there was no way the table should have been that fragile. He wouldn't collect any winnings having not bothered to bet, just as he had not cared to place any wagers on his own fights despite his confidence. As he walked away from the table however he noticed an imposing aura, an Iwa shinobi who was also about the same age as the rest of them. Stopping he would adress Kotaru, "Be wary of the table if you're going to challenge him. Though I'm not sure if he'll be up for it" he noted, considering the injury he had inflicted.

Yuji had some local delicacy crammed in his mouth, some kind of spiced meat on a stick. Further still he had another one in each hand. Stumbling across the competition purely through wanderlust the Fukusha had to go and investigate. He saw a familiar face there immediately. "Oh Sensei this is where you got to, I didn't think this was your kind of thing." Taking a spot next to Kotaru, Yuji considered offering a snack but thought better of it.

He spied a Sunagakure shinobi and frowned a little, it seems that some of his academy training had stuck. They certainly looked like the member of an inferior village, he couldn't help his curious nature though. What kind of Jutsu did a Suna shinobi use? Ninjutsu sure was fascinating stuff. The Fukusha wondered if they had some kind of sand technique he had heard that there were people who could do that kind of thing, though it's practice was a close guarded secret.

The match seemed to be between a Kirigakure and Iwagakure shinobi. "My bet is on the Kiri guy." He yelled out as the match began. It seemed fairly one sided from Yuji's perspective. He stayed silent as the Kirigakure shinobi made his way up to Kotaru and made a remark only giving a polite bow to Shinji if he noticed was entirely a different matter. Up close even Yuji could tell that the match had been decided the moment that the pair had locked hands.

At some point during the commotion a lone, masked figure slipped into the crowd and could be observed by some onlookers simply taking in the spectacle before him. Perhaps even to some, he would be quickly noticed as the man who'd lost his match in the Taijutsu tournament though if looks were anything to judge by - the lad hadn't been taking his defeat all that harshly.

"Well, well. What have we here?" Gene inquired in a low whisper. Folding one arm over the other, he'd continue to observe while silently wondering about what would come of today's events.

Arm Wrestling Competition

Maido had all but grown bored with the festivities when a bunch of hooligans had gathered around as witness to the mighty and wonderful art of...arm wrestling. Uh-huh. Yup. That's what the miscreants and testosterone fueled neanderthals of the festival were doing. Arm wrestling. Great. Well, at least it was better than nothing, she supposed. She made her way closer to get a better look. Truth be told, she did enjoy a competition of sorts. This one in particular was definitely not up her ally. She gazed around the crowd to see if any familiar faces caught her attention.

Kota.

She had gone the entire festival without seeing him. How long had it been? Had she a heart, it would have fluttered. Should she get his attention? Did he still care? Shinji appeared to be the next up to wrestle against a rather stout looking fellow. Maido made eye contact with Kozaki and nodded. She hadn't expected to bump into him again so soon. Especially not in this particular setting. Her attire was light. Black shorts, a black top. Black sandals. Actually, it was much the same as when she had met Kozaki initially. Suddenly, the table splintered and cracked, and it appeared Shinji had injured his opponent. Well, that sounded about right. She couldn't be more proud.

She shoved her way through the crowd and again locked eyes with Kozaki as she made her way towards Iwamaru., nodding to Shinji as she did so. Her host body began to surge. A light green chakra began to eb and flow around her hands as she spoke. "Here, let me take a look." Her hands moved forwards, one on either side of Iwamaru's. She willed her chakra to waft towards his limb. It wisped through the air, shimmering and discoloring the area around itself as it made contact with his skin. His skin. The fresh wound enticed Maido, and she gazed at it longingly. How long had it been since she had tasted blood? She blinked a few times before continuing with her work. Iijutsu as a delicate art, most easily done without so many distractions. Those watching were most certainly not helpful and she would have very much liked it for them to have shut up. Her chakra met with Iwamaru's own. She willed regeneration. Commanded it. Controlled it. Her iiijutsu chakra mingled and meshed into his very flesh. Cells were spurred and energized. Tissue was mended. Bones were shifted. Slowly. Delicately.

She was incredibly focused. She finely controlled the movement of the light green chakra between her hands. She wasted not a drop, so to speak. Her mastery over her chakra control was immaculate. Godlike. What rippled from one hand made its way to the other, passing through Iwamaru's injured limb and enciting the healing progress to begin. She would continue, bouncing this light green chakra back and forth between the two of them. Her will become physical, his hand would begin to heal. Chakra would force itself into the wound and put things back into place. What was fractured would be mended. What was broken would be reforged. His bones would align themselves. She maintained her posture and continued to bounce the chakra. It shouldn't be much longer, she knew. Sure enough, she could tell from a quick examination that her work was done.

"Well...I'm glad that worked out. I've never actually peformed that jutsu before." She chuckled towards Shinji. Now, where was Kota? She looked about, making her way back into the crowd.

jutsu trained:
*[Iijutsu • Bone Regeneration Technique]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
Although simple to explain, the *[Iijutsu • Bone Regeneration Technique] requires both skill and patience in order to mend the fractured or broken bones of patients. After focusing chakra into the hands, the user will begin to channel it through the area of the break or fracture. As this chakra makes contact with the bone, it will stimulate the calcium production of the body and begin to mend the bone. To mend small-to-medium breaks, it takes one (1) post of concentration, while fractures are usually very quick to mend. Multiple breaks can be mended during the use of this technique as it lasts for a total of five (5) posts or until canceled. Users should beware that, like other regenerations of this kind, the nutrient stores of the patient's body are being depleted during its use, and too many uses of this technique in a short span of time can cause serious damage.

The old man concealed within the child like body tilted his head to the right, as if interested in the commotion that was taking place now as the tiny right arm propped its elbow up on his knee as the hand opened up and allowed for the tilted head to rest in against the palm now. Hyuryu was already sure of the victory, just based off what he'd experienced himself and seen throughout the taijutsu tournament that allowed him to ID the Kiri shinobi as the figure from that day. Part of him wanted to whisper to the shinobi and ask him how his metal tasted to see what kind of rise he could get out of Shinji. Sadly now was not the time for such games as he simply watched and listened to the surroundings. 'I need to learn more about this guy.'

As the Iwa genin whispered to his friend, the edge of the ghost boy's lips tweaked upwards in a barely noticble manner now at the words from the boy who held no hope in winning. It was around this time that a few others wandered into the field of spectators. The first was a young man who appeared relatively the same age as the genin, perhaps a few years old, but the feeling that he gave Ryu was similar to the one that Tatsuo gave him. As though they were someone dangerous. Though the young child appeared to not be paying attention out of the corn of his eye he had also noticed the arrival of the suna-nin, Kiyori, though he hadn't been able to see the final match yet, her performance so far landed her on the man's list as a potential threat in the future without any doubts. Something that if he had the chance he would need to act and deal with her. 'That Kiyori woman is here, as well.'

'What a busy place...' Speaking to himself in though the man took notice of the young shinobi who joined the other Iwa-nin, even making the mention of sensei which only helped to fuel the feeling about the young man that he'd felt earlier. But that was pushed to the side for the moment as the competition quickly kicked off. Though he hadn't caught what the Kiri-nin had done but he was able to pick up on the subtle cracking sound due to his 'Spying Ears' being active at the moment, it only made the man smile gently with the puppet body before returning to the nigh emotionless look. 'Hehe...' Ryu remained out of the crowd and in the back to quietly observe, though the crowd was to thick to see the arrival of the Konoha nin. Things seemed like they might turn out to be more fun than he thought.

Though bout was over with quickly, but from what he could tell the Kiri-nin had left the Iwa genin with a little souvenir of their first meeting. This was just the kind of personality that the missing-nin liked, it was to bad that the boy was a Kiri-nin and that they had such a bad first meeting. 'It's that woman.' What he had not expected was to see the woman whom he'd been asked to work for coming through the crowd to check on the boy's hand, actually healing it for him. This woman was truly a hard one to follow in terms of her thoughts. But it appeared that she was looking for someone, he wondered just who such a person would be on the outlook for.

It seemed like, as soon as Kiyori started to notice the group gathering around the arm wrestling table, more people seemed to start gathering until eventually, the table seemed almost overrun by spectators and betters. Kiyori had to use her height to get a good look around, seeing that there were indeed many different people now watching, some of which she could recognize as shinobi from various villages. On the one hand she saw a few more Iwa ninja, and she even saw the face of Maido in the crowd; the very woman who was beaten by the Mizukage in the second round of the ninjutsu tournameny.

As expected, the winner of the Taijutsu tournament had no trouble defeating the Iwa shinobi, with only two fingers even... outstanding. "Shinjiro... That boy will become an incredibly powerful shinobi as the years go on. I do hope to somehow convince him and his people that peace is attainable... I dread combat with them if it comes down to it." She'd wait to see if any other participants rose to challenge whoever took up the table next, be it the Iwa shinobi who started it or new contenders entirely.

"I could join I suppose... hardly seems fair to some of them though..." Souta mused to himself as he made his way through the crowd to take a look. He didn't recognize any of the faces, not immediately anyway. But it didn't take long for him to take notice of Kiyori and pass close enough to touch her shoulder. "Well at least I recognize one face." he remarked near her, chuckling to himself as he crossed his arms and took another look around the crowd. To be honest, it wasn't until the second pass he noticed the other familiar face. It gave him pause, he could feel the muscles through his back and shoulders tensing as he resisted the urge to act right then and there.

Souta had made a habit of bringing missing ninja home, his latest of course being Miyako which hadn't been any trouble at all. She'd wanted to come home, just been scared to and needed someone to talk her through it. But Hyoryu was a familiar face too, and definitely not a friendly one. He stared longer than he probably should have, pulling his eyes away by force to look at those actually competing in this fairly friendly competition.

He was happy for the distraction when he noticed a young man who had won the taijutsu tournament, a Kiri shinobi named Shinjiro he was certain. From there his eyes glanced from one to the next, taking in notice of village markings if there were any, but otherwise the man was stoic and quiet, save for the brief statement to Kiyori of course.

Despite her devastating loss in the opening round of the tournament Masami had cheered up considerably since her meeting with Shinji, even having showed up to watch the... admittedly disappointing finals of the Taijutsu side. She would have to have a chat with Zakuro about giving up when they got home. Regardless with that out of the way there was only one match to go before the tournament reached its ultimate conclusion. In the meantime she was wandering the festival looking for something to keep her busy, and that was when she spotted the fairly bustling crowd, her ears twitching like mad as she picked up on the hustle and bustle. It was a little bit painful honestly but she was admittedly very curious as to what kind of event could gather such a crowd of people from so many different backgrounds.

And so she got a bit closer, tilting her head in puzzlement as she tried to figure out how to push her way into the crowd so she could see what was going on, a sort of sad puppy look crossing her face as she realized there was no way to force herself through the ever growing crowds. Maybe, just maybe some kind soul would help a poor girl out in her time of need and let her in.

Tatsuo had been extremely scarce in Starfall. The majority of the event took place at the same time as another important trial for him but he had made it just in time to witness the finals for each category. Once the fights were finished, he too wandered around aimlessly until he caught wind of a crowd forming. The Bannin began to make his way through the crowd and his face morphed into a smile as a familiar pipsqueak caught his eye.

He stalked through the crowd until he found himself directly behind Kotaru and his friend. Tatsuo paid the arm wrestling little mind until someone pushed through the crowd to pay medic to...

Iwamaru.

Oh geez. Now he actually had to care. The pale woman was doing a fine job so Tatsuo took it as his chance to use Kotaru's head as an armrest.

Touma wasn't certain if he should even be in such a country with so many different shinobi from across all the lands but he had heard of the diplomatic situation surrounding the events, as such he gave in and finally made his way through the crater filled country up into the north towards one special crater in particular where all the festivities where occurring.

The Fukusha made no effort to hide who he was as he still believed he was in the right to escape from Iwagakure and be free to roam the lands as his clan used to as a whole, plus all the diplomatic protection offered for the event made things quite easy to manoeuvre around and so he moved through the crowds until he came across a particular commotion.
"Hmmm...?" the missing ninja quietly murmured to himself in thought as he moved through the people standing round to get a better view.

Once the man could see past the crowd he quickly realised that some kind of arm wrestling competition was occurring and some beastly young boy had just won a match with great ease, surprising Touma who was quite late and had not seen the fights the boy had previously been in and as a result filled him with intrigue as he was still getting used to shinobi even now.
"Huh, quite strong" he then muttered to himself, his left hand coming to his chin and mouth as he took in the spectacle.

As people cheered the Fukusha then scanned the area and began to take in all the other interesting looking people in the area: a strange child; some odd half dog-half woman; a black clad, powerful looking older gentleman; a tall woman covered in intriguing tattoos; a strange, eerie woman that started to tend to the loser and then just various others.
However as the man scanned the area he noticed two of Iwa's strongest shinobi that he quickly learned of through his short time in the village and even beyond, coming to learn that they had become what they called Bannin, as such he swiftly averted his gazed and shuffled his way around toward the strange and oddly sinister child, that was unknowingly to him an old puppet master, hoping not to draw attention.

New Friends:
???? I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY ARE THERE SO MANY OF YOU, JEEZ, AGORAPHOBIA KICKING IN

(Seriously, though, I don't know who to count as a friend except maybe Maido, Kozaki, and Shinjiro, since I've only had contact with them?)
Kozaki called the start of the match, and sure enough, much as he had done with the plethora of previous contestants, Iwamaru knew that this man's Strength eclipsed his quite handily. He knew loss was inevitable, but he'd go down trying as best he could. Considering the man before him was clearly a fellow Kirigakure shinobi (and possibly quite well known, considering that Kozaki referred to him by his first name, Iwamaru would not disgrace their alliance by bowing out. Though they respected strength more than anything, Iwamaru could bet that for some, honor would be fairly high on the list of qualities they respected. While in war, retreat could be sensible, in one-on-one combat, to flee or concede without effort was almost always a sign of weakness and great disrespect, and the young chuunin would show neither.

Despite his muscles finding themselves lacking as Shinji casually held him back, Iwamaru couldn't help but give a show of appreciation for the gesture his opponent showed. "Thank you," he replied through gritted teeth, offering an ironic chuckle. "I've only just been promoted. I'm hoping to make connections with others in the Mist and grow stronger yet. Maybe I'll become more than a waste of your time in short order."

The table suddenly cracked, and Shinji's countenance changed, but Iwamaru, focused so intently on his opponent, didn't realize that it had been an effect of Kozaki's making. He simply did his best to fight through both the superior strength and the pain, as Shinji crushed his hand with such force that even Iwamaru's conditioned bones cracked and fractured under the force. Iwamaru clenched his jaw through the pain. It wasn't nearly as bad as when he'd shattered his kneecap during his chuunin exam, but it was still so painful that his brain started producing adrenaline to ease the severity of the input his body was getting. Right as rain, Iwamaru was eventually defeated, the boy inhaling and exhaling with great control, his right hand throbbing from the abuse it had just suffered. Nodding to the victor, he offered parting words, even as he realized that Kozaki had indeed tampered with the match, to no avail. "...And you've given me a new goal to attain. Thank you," Iwamaru stated, shortly before moving to pick up a new table with his still good hand, lifting it up easily and placing himself on the opposite side.

He still had one good hand. That would be enough to continue. Besides, the pain would serve as a good handicap for training.

...Or so he thought, as another approached, a woman of such breathtaking, unearthly beauty that even Iwamaru's normally rigid form relaxed, if only for a moment. Such calm, calculating eyes like rubies, with porcelain skin and platinum hair, were otherworldly to the boy, having never stepped outside his own village before. Stepping to his side, she reached for his hand, and the soft green glow of healing chakra resonated with his own. Much like with his kneecap in the aftermath of his chuunin exam, Iwamaru could feel the fractured bones and the tendons surrounding them shift and ebb, but her level of chakra control was so immaculate that there was hardly any pain. Before long, the angelic woman was finished, and Iwamaru tested the movement of his hand to find it was good as new. "I... Erm... Thank you," he offered with a meek bow, frankly uncertain how he should conduct himself. He was a simple young man, focused on his work, and his interactions with women had been limited outside of work. He frankly was lost for words simply being within the same ten-foot vicinity of the woman, let alone receiving help from her.

It was after this healing that Iwamaru's eyes turned to the crowd, and what had already been a sizeable group had burgeoned into what amounted to a small concert of individuals. Many faces stood out: another woman with sun-kissed skin and strange, interlacing tattoos over one side of her body; a small child a bit shorter than him that seemed so still in his movements that Iwamaru questioned in his mind whether the boy breathed; two gentleman with silver locks, one young and one much older and much more imposing in the quiet strength he exuded; and the list went on. When his eyes finally rested on Kota, immediately recognizing him from descriptions given by other Iwa shinobi of the youngest Bannin in Iwagakure, Iwamaru had to resist the urge to immediately stand and salute. And then, of course, Tatsuo immediately strolled up right next to him, to whom he could only offer a dumbfounded nod. This... this was a lot to take in.

He turned his face back to the table, waiting for Kozaki to call the next challenger as he tried to calm down. Hopefully, Kozaki would have the good sense not to cheat this time around and simply bet against him if it seemed like he was going to lose.

More people had shown up including a fellow clansman, Yuji gave a brief nod in the direction of Touma. Looking over at the Sunagakure Shinobi once again he saw that she had been joined by another member of her village. A member of the leaf also had shown up, this was shaping up to be a hell of a mixing of cultures. Yuji was a lot less relaxed than before, he was not entirely sure on the world politics but they were supposedly enemy villages. At least Kirigakure were considered allies, that was some relief.

The woman who stepped out to heal Iwamaru's arm gave Yuji the shivers, she looked exactly like the vision that Kotaru had given him of the blood monster. He was about to ask his Sensei about her when suddenly a voice called out from behind them. Yuji turned in alarm as someone had used Kotaru's head as an armrest. They seemed familiar with the bannin and an Iwagakure shinobi to boot but surely they knew what Kotaru-sensei was like. Yuji waited to see if death was to come to this man, it did not. "Sensei who the hell is this weirdo?!" Staring at Kotaru and Tatsuo confused a bit about what is going on.

Arm Wrestling Competition

Kozaki's smirk turned into a frown as the table failed to break under Shinji's elbow. The boy had caught on too quick, not surprising for a Kirigakure shinobi. Kozaki was even more disappointed when Shinji won....by breaking Iwamaru's hand. Well, tragic really, but, Iwamaru was a shinobi, he was sure the lad could handle it. When Shinji made his snide remark, however, Kozaki frowned, thinning his eyes, "AND SHINJI IS DISQUALIFIED", he shouted loud, "I said no tricks! Breaking your opponents hand is certainly a trick!", he jumped back onto the table, careful with his feet, then smirking as he crossed his arms. Like hell he'd let that genma boy get the best of him and his new partner.

Fortune favored the wicked here, it seemed, because Kozaki saw a familiar face weave through the crowd towards Iwamaru. Maido! "Oi Maido! Thanks!", he said, immediately recognizing her going to heal Iwamaru. "I think you could use a break, huh rock man? Lets give someone else a go....", his eyes scanned the crowd, before landing on someone far off in the back.

Masami.

"Like Maido.", he said with a smirk, "You up for it Maido!? Of course you are. Great. Awesome.", he jumped off the table, it breaking in half as he did so. He'd fix that later. "And for our next match. We'll be having Maido!", he shouted over the crowd as he weaved through it, "Getting a rematch from the tournament! MASAMI!!!", he threw both of his hands on Masami's shoulders, immediately shoving her into the crowd. He knew that if he pushed her into the crowd, the crowd would get her up front.

"iwamaru you handle this one!", he shouted again, before stopping to turn to another individual, "You're after them.", he said, his eyes landing on Kiyori. "So who do you want to face off against?", he smirked. Kozaki was enjoying himself that's for sure.

Arm Wrestling Competition

Post by Kao » Thu Oct 31, 2019 9:24 pm

The arm wrestling was going as expected. The Iwa kid was struggling, and his opponent seemed as though he was hardly breaking a sweat. Even though Iwa was technically being embarrassed and shamed by the inevitable loss to Kiri, at least it wasn't against a Sunagakure ninja. Speaking of which, he spotted one nearby, the barefooted one who had fought in the tournament. She had beaten Yozei, his...friend from Konohagakure. He narrowed his eyes at the woman, but just as his lips twisted into a snarl several things happened all at once.

First, the Iwa kid lost. An expected result, of course. But what Kotaru didn't expect was for the Kiri nin - Shinji! That was his name - to come up to him, offering some warning about the table. The bannin looked Shinji up and down, taking in his stature and confidence. He had no time to respond or be even mildly impressed by his demeanor, however. At that moment Shinji was disqualified, and his older cousin to suddenly appeared behind him with an arm casually on his head just as the disqualification was announced. "Oh are you fucking KIDDING ME?!" he strained, wriggling beneath Tatsuo. Those around them wouldn't know if he was enraged about the outcome of the match, the whole being-used-as-an-armrest thing, or both. (Of course, the answer was both). And just as he started to hit the side of Tatsuo's arms, the young bannin paused.

'Maido.'

She looked the same. Beautiful. Eerie. Nearly naked. For a moment he forgot about Tatsuo and everyone else around him, and he was completely deaf to Yuji's question about the 'weirdo.' But he fell out of the trance as quickly as he had fallen into it, and he looked back to his elder cousin, his animalistic growling potentially causing even more a scene. "I AM NOT AN ARMREST, TATS, GET OFF OF ME YOU FREAK WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE?!"

Kiyori was watching the entire scene unfold, the mending of this Iwa boy's arm by the blood shinobi Maido and the other Kiri shinobi announcing the entire event with a professional's grace. It was interesting to say the least... But what was even more interesting was the sudden appearance of Souta behind her, shocking her ever so slightly. "Jeez Souta, wear a bell next time!" Kiyori said with a shriek, slapping Souta on the chest as the shock took hold. "Yeah, there's a lot of shinobi from other nations here huh? It's so interesting. I love events like this to be honest... Maybe it's the diplomat in me, but it's nice to see people from all walks of life get together without threatening each other with death for once... even if it's only for a little while, it's peaceful." She spoke loudly over the crowd, no doubt loud enough that others could hear her if they so chose.

The announcer, who's name she still hadn't caught, replaced his friend Iwamaru with the blood shinobi herself, Maido. And apparently he wanted a rematch between her and the famous Jinchuuriki from Konoha, Aina's friend Masami. She had heard much of Masami and was disappointed that the young jinchuuriki had lost against Maido. But Maido's powers were incredible to say the least... and she lost to Kasai, her next opponent. What awaited her in the ring? Those nerves of hers began to kick into high gear again, but she tried to distract herself by poking a little fun at Souta. "Hey, why don't you get in on this? You're the bannin now, I bet you could take half of them by yourself! Or are you afraid you might throw out your back? After all, you're the senior shinobi here." Kiyori stuck her tongue out at the older shinobi, just in time for Kozaki to point at her and announce that she was next... and he was letting her pick her opponent?

"Me? uhh..." Kiyori froze in place, not sure what to say next. The sudden outburst from the other side of the crowd, what looked like a few Iwa shinobi being buddy buddy, caught her attention and distracted her for the moment. She couldn't tell who that was next to Iwamaru, some tall man with red hair leaning on a much shorter man... perhaps even a kid? Who knew, but he was tiny she knew that much. And the tiny man had a big bark...

Souta couldn't help a laugh as he managed to scare Kiyori. It hadn't been on purpose, but that didn't make it any less humorous. "Honestly yeah, its good to see everyone getting along." he remarked, looking over the crowd once more. "Just good to relax and have a bit of fun." he remarked, raising an eyebrow as he noticed for the first time the woman who had healed the kid with the broken hand. Souta had paid close attention to the Tai tournaments but hadn't attended the Nin side. It wasn't his forte and so hadn't pulled his interest. But as Kiyori made a comment on Souta's age, the man frowned down at her. "I'll show you what a senior shinobi can do." he grumbled, lifting his head as the kid in charge suddenly called out Kiyori for the next match.

He shook his head, smirking as he placed a firm hand on Kiyori's shoulder and took a slight step in front of her. "No, I'll take her place." he said, speaking up. "Apparently she wants me to take someone on." he added. "My name is Souta." he added, knowing the kid doing the announcing probably needed it as he wouldn't be recognized immediately since he wasn't in any tournaments. He turned and looked over at a group of shinobi that seemed to be causing a bit of a stir, the same that had caught Kiyori's attention. "Why not give me the little one with the big bark, see how how does." he said with a laugh, honestly enjoying the sight of pair as one shinobi rest his arm on the head of the other. Of course, he was referring to Kotaru.

Shinji would nod respectfully to Iwamaru after releasing his hand. He had to admit he liked the guy, he was respectful and had a good attitude as well as notable grit. He would excel as a shinobi, he was sure. “I’m sure we’ll meet again” he said as a final statement as he stood and put his glove back on. He wouldn’t mind working alongside him in the future. That was when Kozaki, the little weasel, declared Shinji was disqualified. Shifting to look over his shoulder at the brat, Shinji considered breaking the kids arm. The balls of this guy, to accuse him of tricks. It wasn’t uncommon at all for injuries to be sustained during an arm wrestle, being able to crush an opponents hand or torque their forearm enough to shatter it were just part of the danger of the sport but he wasn’t going to stand there and argue with someone so far beneath him. Not in a place like this with such a large crowd gathered. If Shinjiro ever encountered the guy back in Kirigakure, and if he remembered this transgression, he would be sure to have a few words with him then.

Moving on, he would pay him no further thought as he spoke his warning to Kotaru who seemed preoccupied by the pair of others, presumably his comrades. The man leaning on his shoulder in particular seemed quite strong and this piqued Shinji’s interest, staring at him for a long moment with his predatory green eyes. His attention shifted however when he noticed Maido tending to the Chunin’s hand. He would lock eyes would the woman, nodding in recognition. She still unnerved him from time to time though he was growing more familiar and trusting of her. Turning to face the table now, Shinji decided to stick around for a little longer. If Maido was here then it wouldn’t be boring at least. Scanning the crowd Shinji also noticed a few other competitor’s, Kiyori and Masami, both from the Ninjutsu bracket of the tournament. He looked to the Suna shinobi and the man next to her, who also possessed an air of strength. Beginning to walk toward them until he saw Kozaki dragging Masami through the crowd. Shinji would move to intercept them, grabbing the kids wrist and pulling his arm off of Masami’s shoulder, squeezing enough to cause pain but not break anything. “No, that’s hardly a fair match. Maido should take that guy, Tats” he suggested, overhearing Kotaru’s response to the man and pointing him out. He felt somewhat protective over Masami, having met her a few days prior but he also was curious to see if his hunch about that man being strong was right. He would meet masami’s eyes for a moment, his imposing demeanor softening slightly as he indicated with his head for her to get back over to her friend from the sand village. Only when she had moved away would he release Kozaki, ignoring anything he said as he waited to see what would develop before deciding if he wanted to go over to talk to Kiyori or go back to the group of Iwa shinobi.

Arm wrestling? Maido? Herself? She laughed out loud at the mere thought of it. A child-like, innocent sort of laugh. She'd been told on more than one occassion that it was unnerving for those that had seen her true form to here her laugh in such a way. No matter. This body simply wouldn't do. Physical force was not her forte, that was for sure. But...perhaps if she were to use a different body. One more suitable to such shenanigans. One that was toned. Muscular. Beefy.

Ooh. Beef. She wondered if Shinjiro could turn into a cow. Ooh. Perhaps a bear? A bear would be good. Perhaps then, Shinjiro would make for a good body for this event. "Well...I guess you'll get to prove yourself, opponent mine." Maido's voice was soft, soothing. An otherworldly tranquility that contrasted so starkly with the chaos of her soul. Crimson red chakra began to permeate throughout her host body. Maido's voice became more stern now as she spoke. "I accept." The chakra rifled through the limbs rapidly before something most grotesque transpired before the crowds eyes.

Maido husked herself from her human flesh prison. A writhing mass of bloody tentacles was vomited forth. Or rather, expelled. It came from every hole. The eyes, the nose, the ears, the mouth. A massive, floating pile of writhing blood tendrils had evicted itself from the small woman, which collapsed to the ground slowly, being guided by a tendril towards the floor. On second thought... A tendril lashed out and grabbed the body before heaving it towards Kotaru. "Take care of this for a moment, young one."

The flying spaghetti suddenly shifted and flew towards Shinjiro. "Would you mind?" It wasn't a question. Maido's tendrils invaded him. A process that she doubted was pleasant, but after having witnessed the host to Vorashu in action first hand, she figured he could take it just fine. The sounds were lovely to her but to others it was, as she understood it, quite sickening. The slithering of wet tentacles against flesh. Music to her ears. Half of shinjiro's hair would suddenly and instantaneously turn white. But his eyes...they would become scarlet. Rubies, even. Such was her influence over a host body. She spoke now, through him. Her voice from his body.

Her new host body's left fist pounded into their open right hand. "I think I'm ready now." She spoke. Her cloak danced about wildly. She was excited. This was surely an event to remember.
jutsu used:
Body Exit
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
By channeling chiton chakra throughout her tendrils and pulling them towards her anchors, Maido can remove herself from a host body, a process which is just as painful for the host as when she entered. Leaving a body takes 1/2 a post to accomplish and will leave the body feeling extremely pained for the next 2 posts.

Willing Host Takeover
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
By channeling chakra throughout the chiton surrounding her anchors, Maido will send her chiton tendrils into a willing living host body or into a corpse, intermingling her blood with the targets and embedding her anchors into a place of her choosing. The tendrils will infiltrate the target in any orifice it can find, a process which she has been told is the "most horrifying sensation ever felt." This process takes approximately 1/2 a post to complete and will leave the host body rather uncomfortable for the next 2 posts until Maido has fully integrated. When inhabiting a body, Maido's Strength and Speed stat are changed to match theirs for as long as she inhabits the body.

Arm Wrestling Competition

Post by Kabu » Thu Oct 31, 2019 10:19 pm

Masami squealed in surprise as she was shoved into the crowd, soon ending up at the front where it was suddenly declared that she was to be arm wrestling... and against Maido of all people. Well, it wasn't that she didn't want the rematch, but she was honestly a little scared given how easily she had been thrashed during their tournament bout. Though that had been a Ninjutsu tournament and she was really much more confident in her physical strength, plus there was no telling if Maido would be able to beat her in such a contest just because of her seeming talent in Ninjutsu.

She was preparing herself to accept the terms of the match when Shinjiro stepped up, her eyes going wide as he stood up for her. Normally she may have gotten angry about such a thing but instead she simply sighed, a small smile on her face. He would know the woman better than she did so maybe it was for the best. "Well, there's always next time. When I become stronger I'll get my rematch and when that day comes I'll come out on top." she muttered to herself, taking a step back and joining the crowd as she looked around at the people gathered, noting several Iwa and Kiri nin as well as a few from Suna as well, one of whom she recognized as Henrin Kiyori, a woman whom she knew a lot about through Takeo and Aina but had never actually met herself, though she hoped to one day change that.

On the other side the Iwa/Kiri group seemed to be a rather rowdy bunch but they seemed to be having a good time so that was okay. Some part of her even wanted to get to know them but did she dare approach? She knew from her encounter with Shinji that not all Kiri nin were bad and she was sure the same would apply with Iwa but she was honestly a bit nervous all the same.

And then it happened, she barely even registering what happened as Maido seemed to become just a mass of blood, discarding her body and... taking over Shinjiro? Okay, now she was more glad than ever that he had stopped her from taking that match. Though... would he be okay?

The small worry he was carrying was dismissed once the woman finished her medical jutsu. She looked familiar but he was broken from his thoughts by the young Fukusha called him a weirdo. He blinked at the teen, his look similar to an owl before his brow furrowed in confusion.

"Me? Weird? I see the rude attract even more rude people, Kota." Tatsuo broke into a loud belly laugh at Kotaru's vain attempts to remove him. They both knew Tatsuo would let up when he wanted and Kotaru was powerless to stop him. The growling and yelling was just the cherry on top for him.

"Well I'm his older brother. Adopted him into our family after someone's appetite was a bit too greedy." Tatsuo vaguely explained to the boy. He expected Kotaru to grow a bit more angry at the statement but didn't really care. "You are totally an armrest until you grow up. And I mean physically, not mentally."

The attention turned to their group and Tatsuo felt the eyes on them. The group from Suna was something he hoped to avoid less tensions rise and an actual incident occur. The Kiri ninja who broke up Iwamaru's wrist stared at him hungrily for an extended moment. The Bannin stared back with more vigor until the young man broke off and called him by name to arm wrestle the medic.

Tatsuo shrugged his shoulders and got off of Kotaru as he made his way to the table with Maido.

"Loser buys the others drinks for the evening. Deal?" Tatsuo shot her a grin as he rolled up his sleeve on his right arm and set it into position as she grossly changed host.

Okay, what.

Iwamaru couldn't really process exactly everything that was happening mostly because of the fact that there were too many kami-frickin' people in this noggin-flippin' city square. This was supposed to be a simple and clean sweep of a small arm-wrestling tournament, and now there were so many power players in a single area that he was just looking for a little bit of sanctuary. Ya know what, he was just gonna take a cue from Kozaki's book. Don't think twice. This was all just recreation and good fun. Yep. That was it. He'd finish this, set up contact with Kirigakure through Kozaki, go home, and experience a birth by sleep as his brain recoded all of the memories of this day into a final mix that he'd actually be able to get his head around.

Tatsuo decided to take the challenge, sitting next to what he surmised was now someone else's body possessed by the woman who had healed his hand? He didn't particularly understand the exact chain of memories at this point. All he knew was that he had to face his fears of being the center of attention and officiate this match. After carefully inspecting the table, to make sure Kozaki wasn't up to any of his trickery. He placed a single hand over the clasped fists of the two participants. The only thing he said to the crowd was this:

"You all might wanna step back a bit."

Iwamaru looked toward each participant to confirm they were ready. There was no countdown, no timer, only absolute silence as the tension in the air demanded it. Then, with a single movement of his hand off of theirs, Iwamaru uttered the fateful word:

"Begin!"

Kozaki had barely gotten Masami into the crowd when that douchey little body genma grabbed him by the hand, white-knighting for Masami and preventing what truly could have been the arm-wrestling match of the evening. A redemption match! A chance for making up for that horrendous tournament battle. And Shinjiro was getting in the way. Kozaki's bright yellow eyes were like tractor beams staring down Shinjiro as he squeezed Kozaki's wrists. Before he could say anything, however, Maido interrupted, putting on a show for everyone to see. The crowd had mixed reactions of impressed and disgusted as Maido seized control of his body. Kozaki taking the opportunity to free his wrist.

Tatsuo took the helm and Kozaki smirked, pretending what had just happened hadn't, ribbing Souta in the side with his elbow, "You take winner then big man.", he said with a smirk before grabbing Masami's arm again, "Looks like you got lucky huh! Escape the clutches of that monster again.", he laughed. Iwamaru had been left to his devices so Kozaki was using this as an opportunity to socialize, "You wanna wrestle with someone though, don'tcha? Gotta pick someone, anyone in the crowd! this one over here?", he asked gesturing towards Kiyori again. "Or maybe one of them shorties?", he said gesturing towards the group Tatsuo had just left behind. "Hey you!", he pointed towards Yuji now, "You wanna arm wrestle this one?", he asked with wink.

Arm Wrestling Competition

Post by Zao » Thu Oct 31, 2019 11:03 pm

Things really seemed to get lively in such a short amount of time, though he couldn't help but want to laugh at the Iwa-nin who was treating the other like some sort of younger brother, it was truly something funny to watch. A number of people seemed to flood into the small arm wrestling area as Ryu simply continued to watch from his spot in the back not feeling the need to really get involved to much or really at all with these people. But as he watched Maido do her body swap, even the man with no stomach felt a little uneasy, that was one strange woman for sure. He hadn't known much about her as the organization hadn't gifted him much information on that client but he was rapidly learning that she two was some sort of monster after all.

Shaking his head lightly he turned his gaze to the left from where he was setting with his back against a wall to see the Iwa missing-nin circling around the back of the ground. It was a rather ballsy move for the man to come to Star, even with the strong restrictions set out by the natives here and the seeming belief that they were able to uphodl them in some manner. That spoke to the young man as he edged his way aroud the crowd near the puppet nin. Something was different about this one and as he got a bit closer and right after Maido had done her bloody spegetti thing...or what ever you wanted to call it the man withdrew his attention to just Touma .

The tiny right hand that wasn't supporting his face lifted in a half hearted style wave and it turned to look up at the man, speaking in a tiny voice that seemed ever so fitting for the Ghost body that he was currently using. It appeared almost to be a homeless child based purely on the ragged-looking clothing and the dirt that could be found on the hands and face of the boy. He only spoke a single word. "Hi."

Cousin, brother. Tatsuo's relation to him made no difference; at the end of the day Kotaru still wanted to throttle the older Akari whenever he decided to exploit their height difference. "STILL PLENTY OF TIME FOR A SNACK, TATS!" the bannin snapped, waving his arms comically as his cheeks reddened and steam seemed to shoot from his ears. Kotaru wasn't that short; everyone else was just gigantic.

Tatsuo's attention shifted which prompted Kotaru to do the same, and the boy bannin quieted as he took in the crowd. He turned towards a voice that had over the rest of the crowd, noticing yet another giant of a man looking toward him. "Little one?" he echoed, the tone of his voice dropping dangerously. His entire demeanor shifted, and for a moment fire flashed behind his eyes. It was one thing to be teased for his height by family, but it was another situation entirely to be challenged by a Suna shinobi. "Little one?' Gotta say, I don't think I like someone from the Sand addressing me in any way."

Luckily, Maido's disgusting discarded body was shoved into his hands and his gaze dropped to the husked body. He stared at it for a moment, repulsed but somehow not surprised that it had happened. He dropped the dead girl unceremoniously, wiping his hands on his pants before turning his attention back to the Suna shinobi who had challenged him. By that time, however, Tatsuo had taken control of the situation and the next match was underway.

Kiyori was just as lost in this giant crowd of people as anyone else, finding it hard to really follow all the different conversations and interactions going on. But at least for the most part the interactions seemed to be happy, or at least calm. The situation between Shinjirou and the previous announcer was a little strained, but that was all brought to a halt by the sickening amalgamation of bloody tentacles that suddenly emerged from the female she knew to be Maido, which then entered the body of Shinjirou. Of all the moments in her memories she wished she didn't have a perfect recollection of, this was easily in the top 5; a retch forced it's way from Kiyori's throat as she fought the urge to vomit.

"Gah... Some things just shouldn't be possible Souta, even for Shinobi." Kiyori spoke when she finally recovered, then began to eye the challenger that accepted 'shinjirou's' offer. She had no idea who this guy was but apparently he went by 'Tatsuo' and he was a big deal in Iwa, perhaps an up and coming jounin or even a bannin based on his rippling physique and commanding presence. She'd like to speak with him at some point... but his ally, the short one with the big bark, seemed to take offense at Souta's comment about height, which prompted Kiyori to speak up towards the Iwa ninja. "Hey, nothing personal Kota. We're all friends right now right? There's no reason to be upset, we're all here to have a good time so let's try to stay happy!"

With a chipper grin Kiyori spoke to Kota, having gathered his name from a little eavesdropping on the Iwa crew's conversation. Perhaps that was the icebreaker she needed to actually start a dialogue with these ninja from the 'enemy' nations...

Souta nodded as Kozaki stated he'd take winner, even chuckling as the kid nudged him in the ribs. Though it seemed almost immediately something disgusting happened that drew his attention. Not only did a tentacled mass come out of this petite pretty girl, it threw the body of said girl at the chihuahua from before. If he hadn't just recently seen a zombie revived he might've thrown up, though he heard the retch from Kiyori and quickly turned around, jumping back briefly in case she threw up. With a sigh of relief the man chuckled and looked at Kiyori. "I really don't need to be wearing your gut-soup, dear." he told her, chuckling still as he shook his head and looked over at the barker. "Show us what you have other than that bark!" he shouted towards him, before muttering under his breath, "Fucking chihuahua."

He heard a familiar laugh to his left and turned, surprised to see his friend Rokuro walking through the crowd. Between his masks and the chunks of crystal protruding visibly from his flesh a few gave him a rather wide berth. "Antagonizing the little ones, Souta-sama?" he asked through his mask, glancing at Kiyori. "Just because some gash tells you to?"

Souta's expression turned stern, leveling a stare at Rokuro. "Watch it, Rok." he replied. "She'll knock you on your ass in a breath."

Rokuro rolled his eyes and looked towards the group of shinobi that was the Iwa group it seemed. "Curious to see if you're the one who ends up on his ass." he replied, showing the less than love he felt for his team leader.

Souta smirked. "As always, excited for someone else to do what you can't."

As amusing as it was to watch the Suna and Iwa nin's interactions, Masami was stuck on Kozaki's offer of getting her a different match, before long making up her mind. Normally she didn't have too much of a competitive streak but having had the chance of a rematch with Maido torn away from her had lit a rare fire in her belly, and she knew exactly whom she wanted to go up against, walking up to the arguing group and patting Kiyori on the shoulder, waiting to speak until she had the woman's attention. "I hate to interrupt this lovely conversation but I'd like a go around at testing my strength and well, I've heard a lot about you, Kiyori and I think you would be a great opponent so what do you say?" she said with a cheeky grin, another rarity from her.

Really, she had gone from wondering why she was even here to depressed to now having had a rare competitive fire lit within her. It was all very strange but she did know one thing, and that was that she honestly kind of liked it.

The crowd fell away as Kotaru's attention snapped to the tall, black haired woman. She was quite a sight with her shaved hairstyle and tattoo-covered skin. He locked eyes with her, and although his bright green eyes starkly contrasted hers, the darkness within his gaze matched that of her featureless eyes. The woman had to be a Suna shinobi as well. It was the only way to explain her audacity. "That's Kotaru to you," he replied, his words offering much more bite than his shouting from before. "Only my friends call me Kota, and I can assure you we are not friends, Suna."

When her companion shouted at him again, Kotaru turned toward him. He ran his black tongue over his lips and then over his teeth, staring the man down. "Watch your tongue before it ends up in my dinner." With that he took a step back and waved them away, signaling his intention to allow the tense moment to pass. There was no need to interrupt such a good time, as the woman put it. But he made it painfully clear that no matter the occasion, he was not open to friendly relations with anyone from that sand pit of a village.

There was a brief moment of tension between Shinji and Kozaki, he felt the boy’s yellow eyes upon him and met them with his own vibrant green eyes. Though Shinji didn’t bother trying to intimidate the Shiimu, in his eyes he wasn’t even worth that recognition, instead looking at him with callous indifference. The assassin and swordsmen of the Karagata family turned his gaze to Masami, “If you..” he began, starting to coldly warn Masami about trying to surpass someone like Maido when suddenly the blood witch began to violently expel herself from her current host body. Honestly it didn’t surprise him much nor particularly disturb him in the typical sense, only unnerving him due to her fearsome strength rather than the sight most would regard as deeply revolting. He chuckled lightly as she tossed the carcass to the loud-mouthed kid with the dark aura. And then when she addressed him Shinji’s expression settled, “Oh, yeah. Sure” he agreed, shrugging his shoulders casually. He wasn’t about to show his unease around a crowd such as this and in fact he had come to embrace the idea of working alongside Maido, even if it meant accepting the power she had over him.

The pain and discomfort was far worse than he had anticipated. He had been conditioned to a variety of torture and even numerous deadly diseases and poisons throughout his life but nothing felt quite like blood forcing its way through every orifice of his body and then pulsing and surging through his veins. His eyes widened as he groaned in what would be agony to most, though it was barely manageable to level of pain resistance. Even after she absorbed into his body he felt off, his entire body itching like there were bugs crawling under his skin, muscles aching and veins feeling like they were going to burst. Still, aside from tense facial features and his veins visibly bulging, even on his face and throat there was little indication of just how extreme the duress on his body was. ‘The blood witch claims your body as her own. How does it feel to be trapped within yourself?’ Vorashu taunted, enjoying this change of events, though he would grow annoyed if she would overstay her welcome, that was certain. Shinjiro’s arms moved without conscious thought, though he didn’t resist Maido’s control. In fact, he felt stronger than before in a way, confident that together they would make a nearly unstoppable team. ‘If it makes me a better weapon then she can have me’ he countered. He realized though that he did retain some control, it was an odd balance of sharing power. She could override him at any time but he could still feel her blood moving within him and knew when not to resist and when she was more passive and could allow him to move of his own will. It would take some practice if they wanted to do this kind of thing more often, but it was not too difficult to cooperate.

Sitting opposite to Tatsuo, Shinji would size him up, his red eyes glaring with power. He chuckled as he overheard Kotaru’s remarks towards the Suna shinobi. “He seems fun” he commented, sincerely fascinated by him. Perhaps he would get to catch a glimpse of his power too but for the moment his focus shifted entirely on Tatsuo. He could tell this guy was in a completely different league than most of the crowd, he would have to get serious. “We can drink a lot” he warned confidently. As far as he was aware both he and Maido were incapable of getting drunk or at least it took an obscene amount and was broken down quickly. As Shinjiro settled into position his chakra cloak would flare up, enveloping him in a sickly green aura as he removed his glove and clasped hands with his opponent squeezing as tightly as he could before the signal to begin was given and no sooner than he had done so was he aware that his normal strength likely wouldn’t be enough. His eyes expression shifted, growing cold and dark. His body would transform suddenly into that of a large grizzly bear, still clasping his opponents hand as he tested his increased strength now, bearing in tightly as he shifted his body to put some of his immense weight and strength behind his arm, such was the professional method of arm wrestling. Boasting a staggering 45 Strength in this form he would see what this man was really capable of. Without even relying on Maido he was sure to put up a great effort, though he could never be counted out without considering how she might be able to assist and take over should she desire to.
