Tsuki
[We all return to the earth]
General Information Age: 18
Gender: Female
Height: 4'11
Weight: 98lbs
Physical Features:
- Face/head: She has a slim oval face with faded grey-green eyes, like lichen on an old stone. Her eyes are often half lidded, giving off the feeling of constant disinterest. She has dark olive skin.
- Body: Her physique mirrors that of a King Oyster Mushroom — compact, sturdy, and slightly tapered. She stands at 5'3", with a short but solid frame. Her torso is wide and strong, with distinct inward dips above her hips that give her a unique silhouette — stout but sculpted, like she was carved from mycelium and moonlight. There’s a grounded heaviness to her stance, like she’s rooted in the earth.
- Notable Features:
- Growing on top of her head is a large cream colored mushroom wide and gently domed like an umbrella.
- In the dark it glows a bioluminescent green casting an eerie halo around her head.
- Thin, spidery veins of glowing green occasionally pulse just beneath her skin around the base of the mushroom on her head and down her spine.
- She exudes a faint earthy scent — damp soil, moss, and decay, but not unpleasant — the scent of deep forest.
The mushrooms are diverse — some small and pearl-white, others with speckled red caps or glowing gills. They thrive on her, pulsing faintly when she moves, drawing strength from her body. A few even shift slightly as if breathing. Her hip guards sway with her movements, and from beneath them sprout thin, twisting stalks that sway independently, trailing spores in her wake.

SpoilerShow

- General:
She is a gentle and soft-spoken woman. Her presence doesn't command attention and she often goes unnoticed. She moves gracefully and silently, her steps are muffled even while wearing armor. She has been known to scare people when she does speak as they often don't realize she is there. Her voice is low and kind but every word feels ancient. She is comforting but it's never in a normal human way. It's like the comfort one feels right before they die. She'll sit beside a dying tree or comrade, speaking softly to them until the end comes. She is patient, kind, nurturing, and unafraid of death. That being said, she is often considered creepy by those who don't understand her. She can often be found humming ancient lullabies to the mushrooms growing from her armor.
- Hopes/Dreams:
Her goal is to spread her spores and influence others with the belief that by doing so, she is sharing the gift of growth and renewal. She sees herself as a nurturer, someone who fosters new life through the process of decay. Her spores, in her eyes, are not a curse but a blessing of transformation. She hopes to infect as many as possible with the pure intention of spreading a cycle of rebirth, where everything dies and is reborn in a cycle of peaceful renewal.
She views the spread of her spores as a means to help those suffering; believing that by infecting them with her spores, she’s offering them a way out of pain and sorrow. In her eyes, the infection isn’t just about decay but about freeing others from their burdens. She views death and decay as forms of release, a way of helping those who are ailing or in pain transition into peace.
She dreams of a world where all living things are in harmony with the natural cycles of life, death, and rebirth. She sees herself as a link in that cycle, helping nature’s will unfold by spreading spores that assist in the natural process of life’s continual ebb and flow.
- Fears:
She fears that others will never understand her true intentions. That her desire to help others through the spread of her spores will be viewed as dangerous or evil. While she acts with pure-hearted motives, she’s deeply sensitive to the possibility that others will see her actions as creepy or unnatural, especially with her ability to spread spores and connect with death.
While she seeks to spread her spores and connect with others through her gentle nurturing, she fears being completely alone, especially in the end. She believes in the cycle of death, but she doesn’t want to face it in isolation. She fears that if she is rejected, no one will be there to accept her when it is time for her to move on.
Since she’s so focused on the well-being of others, she tends to neglect her own needs, leading to a fear that one day she might not be able to continue her work or that death might take her too suddenly before she can finish her self-imposed mission.
- Combat Mentality:
Her first instinct in battle is to avoid conflict and protect those around her, rather than to engage aggressively. Her primary goal is to maintain balance — she wants to ensure that the situation doesn't escalate unnecessarily, but she’s always ready to defend herself and others if things become inevitable. She's not quick to attack; instead, she will try to redirect, evade, or create space between her and the enemy, whether through speed, agility, or creating barriers.
Though her primary focus is on defense, Iaido Kenjutsu is her tool when the time comes to engage directly.
Her fungal zombies are extensions of her will, acting as her hands and feet in battle when needed, while also serving as a natural outgrowth of her desire to spread her spores and protect those around her.

Kekkei Genkai: Shinkin-niku (Fungal Flesh): Believed to be blessed by a Goddess, the Kinoko's Kekkei Genkai gives them the capability of growing mushrooms from their bodies and their surroundings and to produce large amounts of spores from their tenketsu as well as any fungi the Kinoko member creates through an energy source they call Mycorrhiza, which would be identified by the five villages as chakra. These fungi and their spores can be utilized in a number of different ways with techniques of all sorts, making members of this clan highly versatile. Unless otherwise specified, mushrooms created through Kinoko techniques constantly produce spores from their gills. These spores are the basis of many Kinoko techniques, but have a weakness in that they are easily burned, washed off or blown away. Kinoko clan members vary wildly in appearance depending on age, birth, and even their chosen specialization to some extent with older clan members having more of their body covered with larger and more diverse forms of fungi. As such, while each member share common traits of dark skin and pale, faded eyes the rest of their appearance can vary wildly, making it so that no two Kinoko share much commonality in how they look, their uniqueness only growing with time. | |

Symbiotic Bond Fungal Communication: You establish a basic telepathic connection with others through the spores. This link allows you to communicate silently with allies within a small radius (up to 10 feet). The connection is one-way at first, meaning you can communicate to your allies, but they cannot respond unless they are also infected by the spores. Minor Healing: The spores begin to have a restorative effect, though it is limited. You can heal minor wounds by using your spores to accelerate the regeneration of the body. This only works on superficial wounds or exhaustion, restoring minor vitality to your allies over a short period of time. DominationShow Quote: D-RankShow Seeds of Control Spore Possession: You release spores that latch onto a living target or a recently deceased body. The spores take root in their host, causing physical degradation or mental influence. The infected target experiences mild symptoms, such as weakness, fatigue, or hallucinations. However, the spores' full effect is not yet active, only influencing minor behaviors. Partial Resurrection: You can resurrect the dead within 5 minutes of their passing, bringing them back with limited mental control. They are under your influence but remain mentally foggy and sluggish. Their physical abilities are restored but their movement is uncoordinated. You can use them as mindless minions for up to 10 minutes. Environmental Manipulation: You can control the growth of fungal matter in the environment. Fungi may grow rapidly in the area, turning terrain into spongy, decaying land, impeding movement or causing discomfort. You cannot yet shape it into deadly forms, but it hinders or confuses your enemies. |

Basic JutsuShow
*[Basic Jutsu • Clone Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After completing a set of handseals, the user forms a slight chakra 'body', thus creating a single, massless clone. The clone created from this technique is very basic and will dissipate when hit with anything. These clones do not possess vital signs or a unique chakra signature, meaning they don't disrupt the environment, and anything on their person is superficial. The clone has 1 in each stat. They are limited to basic movements.
*[Basic Jutsu • Act of Tree Climbing]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
By focusing chakra into his/her feet, the user is able to walk up trees and other vertical surfaces in a similar fashion to walking along the ground. This chakra amount must be precise, and although all shinobi learn this technique, the user's control stat will determine how well this jutsu can be executed. Users with low control 2 or lower will often fall during the use of this technique, while users with average control 3 or higher will be able to use this technique functionally. It lasts for a number of posts equal to the user's Chakra Pool.
*[Basic Jutsu • Act of Water Surface Walking]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
A variation of the Act of Tree Climbing technique, this jutsu requires the user to focus a precise and balanced amount of charka into the soles of his/her feet. By doing so, the user is able to walk on the surface of water as though it were a solid surface. Users with low control 2 or lower are much more likely to fall through the surface of the water, while users with average control 3 or higher will be able to use this technique functionally. It lasts for a number of posts equal to the user's Chakra Pool.
*[Basic Jutsu • Kai Release]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
A rather simple technique that allows the user to escape from a genjutsu. The user will form a single ram seal and focus to reset their chakra system to purge themselves of foreign chakra. The stat requirements for this technique can be found in the genjutsu rules.

*[Iijutsu • Diagnostic Check]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
A technique used by medical shinobi to deduce what is going on with a patient. They will perform a hand seal and green chakra will cover their hands. From there, they may place them upon a number of patients equal to their [Chakra Pool]/2. Their chakra will travel through the patient at [Control] Speed before coming back to them and allowing the medical shinobi to be able to tell their patients temperature, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and heart rate for as long as they have chakra.
*[Iijutsu • Personal Protective Equipment]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
When real latex equipment is not on hand, the user will perform a single hand seal and will focus chakra onto their hands, nose, and mouth to form a thin layer of chakra around them at [Control] Speed and Strength. This chakra will filter bacteria and other particles to and from the user, the environment, and their medical equipment. This technique can be held as long as the user has chakra.

IaidoShow
*[Iaido • Ancestral Focus]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The hallmark of Iaido is its practitioners abilities to launch an attack even when their swords are sheathed. This Discipline represents the practitioner's capacity to consistently execute a sword draw and slash all in one movement by gripping the edge of the scabbard and pulling the scabbard slightly forward before drawing the sword. This Discipline enables the practitioner to immediately draw their sword and attack at the start of combat.
*[Iaido • Last Breath]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The most iconic (and most basic) strike of Iaido, the practitioner quickly draws and cuts with their blade in a wide arc in one fluid motion. This simultaneous draw and attack straight from the scabbard makes Iaido well-suited for an initial surprise attack and for taking advantage of openings presented by the opponent.
*[Iaido • Clouding Eyes]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 8 Speed.
A simple technique meant to cripple the target's vision, the practitioner draws the sword from its scabbard and aims a quick slash at the eyes. This technique can be done in any single direction to either target one or both of the opponent's eyes.
*[Iaido • Mantra]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A simple yet potent defense, especially against other weapons users, the practitioner partially draws the sword from its scabbard and blocks incoming attacks with the back of their blade. This technique is ineffective against opponents with higher Strength than the practitioner's Strength.

*Spirit Binding • [Seishin Kanri]
C-rank Tenkujutsu
After preforming the necessary hand seals, the user shoots out a chain of Maroon Chakra at [Control] Speed & Strength that wraps around a spirit. If the spirit stays sealed within this chain for 4 posts, the spirit is subjected to the control of the user of the technique, regardless of contracts up to 4 posts. If the spirit has more Strength than the chain, it can be easily broken free of. This jutsu can only be used on similar and lower-ranked spirits.
*Shizumeru • [Containing Spirits]
C-rank Tenkujutsu
After doing the needed hand seals, the user will create a 10x10x10m barrier at [Control] Speed with [Control] Strength. This barrier is created of pure Maroon chakra and will only stop things that are related to spirits, normally jinchuuriki. As a result, those that are stopped by the barrier are unable to make their way through unless they can break it. Those untainted by spirits are able to pass through the barrier at their leisure. This barrier lasts for 4 posts.

History
Historical AccountsShow
Born in the countryside of the Land of Planes and Seas, Tsukiyotake—Tsuki for short—grew up among the Kinoko clan, nestled deep within the forests of the rural wilds. From a young age, she was groomed to become the next Matriarch of her clan. Her days were spent immersed in Shinto rites, learning her family’s ancient traditions and spiritual practices. She took a particular interest in the death rites, fascinated by how her mushrooms reacted in the presence of the dead.
As part of her training, she was taught both Tenkujutsu and Iijutsu, giving her the knowledge and ability to tend to the spiritual and physical well-being of her people. One day, while out performing her rituals alone, she came across an ancient, fallen tree. Growing from its rotting trunk was a cream-colored mushroom with a faint glow that pulsed gently in the fading light. Intrigued, she reached out with one of her own mushrooms to compare it—and that’s when it happened.
A blast of psychic energy hit her like a wave. In her mind, she heard a voice—not with words, but something older, deeper. It felt like the presence of a great-great-grandmother, ancient and kind. It whispered to her of the natural cycle: death, rebirth, balance. It mourned its own inability to move freely in the world, to influence the decay and rebirth it so deeply understood. Tsuki, still a child but already steeped in spiritual understanding, offered to help it. The moment she agreed, a burst of spores erupted from the mushroom and engulfed her. They invaded her body—her nose, her mouth, her lungs, her stomach. But her fungal network was already strong. Her own spores rejected what was unneeded, assimilating only what resonated with her.
From that moment on, she changed. She began speaking of events no one alive could remember. Her voice took on an ancient tone, her demeanor calm and cryptic. She discovered new abilities—foreign even to her own clan. She first noticed it when she sneezed, and a puff of spores warped a nearby squirrel in strange, unnatural ways. Recognizing that something had awoken in her, her clan gave her their blessing to leave and seek her purpose. So, when her home country allied with Tea Country and it became easier to travel to and from, she traveled across the Heart Empire, training in various academies, learning more about herself, and refining her abilities. She eventually took up Iaido, drawn to its stillness, precision, and spiritual clarity.
After graduating, she was approached by a member of the Battosai Division, an elite group known for their mastery of the blade.
