Jirou had only been training in Pebble Country for a short time when he heard the news. Iron Country had been struck down overnight, as if by some divine retribution. Soon, rumors began to spread: an ancient and powerful treasure was hidden beneath the rubble. The Fists of Emperor Hanzi, once wielded by the Taisho of Iron Country who was presumed dead in the rubble, lie somewhere in the ruins. Jirou put in a request to leave the dojo at which he had been training – and without even waiting for approval – left.
The journey was an arduous one, but one which his training with Roku had more than equipped him for. As he neared the location of the fists, the rumors got more and more precise. Soon, he stood before a mountain fortress which had been mostly destroyed. Before him was what was likely once a grand entrance reduced to what could be mistaken for a cave, were it not for the chunks of rusted iron and decaying wood sticking out of the rocky surface.
Making his way through the cave, Jirou could just make out a figure against the light at the end. Someone had beaten him to the punch. Quietly, he entered into what had become his usual fighting stance: sword in his right hand, a 10m spool of razor-sharp 20 Strength brass wire in his left. Under his clothing was 20 Strength brass armor which he had exuded from his body; atop his head, a brass kabuto helm. Jirou was no master of stealth, but he crept closer to the chamber at the end as quietly as he could.
When he was closer, he started to see more details of the figure. They looked like a samurai: tunic, hakama, large straw hat. Jirou came to a stop in the shadows of the entrance. That was when he saw it. On the figure’s hat was a familiar, red hibiscus flower. Some of the tension left Jirou’s muscles, but he felt his heart begin to beat twice as fast. He took a few timid steps forward into the throne room.
It had been several months since Jirou and Yozora had met in Aroma Country. Since then, Jirou had traveled to Pebble Country to learn more of that country’s swordsmanship. He must have looked quite different to the flaming-half-pant-wearing boy Yozora had gone swimsuit shopping with. He was now clad in almost all black. His broad torso was clothed in a martial-looking gakuran top, with a high collar and brass buttons matching his helm. The back and breast of the jacket bore the mon of his fencing school. On his legs was a pair of bakama – like hakama pants, but tapering into a pair of white gaiters at his shins. Those in turn covered thick, bootlike tabis and sandals. His face had gotten a little more gaunt, making his chin and jawline more pronounced, and his brilliant red and yellow hair had gotten longer, almost reaching his shoulders.
He looked across the room, taking several steps closer. Although he looked relaxed, Jirou was ready to spring into action, or to defend himself against a blow. Of just about anyone he could have run into in this place, Yozora was among the last he wanted to see here.
“Yozora?” he called out, hoping the girl would recognize him.

[Toryu • Skipping Stone]
D-Rank Taijutsu Stance
The signature Stance of Toryu, practitioners relax the muscles in their bodies, gaining additional flexibility in their movements in how they approach the enemy, how they retreat, how they evade attacks, and how they attack the opponent. This Stance allows the practitioner to more easily read opponent's attacks and defend against them by evading in unusual ways, such as ducking, bending around, and quickly sidestepping attacks without needlessly exposing themselves to additional attacks. This fleet-footed Stance lets the practitioner mix up their movements to confuse and misdirect the opponent, allowing them to attack lesser-known openings in the opponent's guard. It also allows the practitioner to rapidly and reflexively change the angle, position and grip of their weapon with minimal movement, allowing them multiple manners in which they can attack the opponent or defend against attacks.
