Feeling Jashin settle in beside her, she smiled to herself with her eyes closed. Turns out he was just as big of a dumbass as she was. Sometimes feelings were too hard, and the only thing that could really help was to push yourself past the point of screaming. The release of rage and frustration left the mind clearer, helping to pave the way towards whatever it is you thought you had to run from. It made her happy to know that they were still so similar after all these years of distance.
She snorted at her cousin as he lamented her lack of effort and implied threat to leave her behind. What took the most effort was insuring she didn't hurt him while also making sure to not get hit with his bullshit raiton. Seriously where the fuck had that come from? She was sure it was Takeshi's fault somehow, it was the only thing that made sense. As she made a move to stand up, she felt Jash trying to knock her over. Humoring him, she fell into a roll and cracked her neck as she came out of it. "I guess we're racing then you brat."
Akemi waited until he was 40 meters ahead of her, then she took off at 40 speed bypassing him easily as she beelined for his apartment. She saw him dip out around a corner to the market and laughed to herself as she rushed through the streets, avoiding all manner of pedestrians and civilians. Skidding to a halt in front of his stairs, she took them two at a time and grabbed the key from under his mat. Letting herself in she took off her shoes and went to wash up knowing that he would be expecting her help with dinner. And be help, she meant basic prep. Jashin loved to cook, as did Akemi, but she tried to stay out of his way as she enjoyed seeing him so at peace and in his element in his cozy little house.
Once her cousin had returned, she was already making her way to grab the groceries, sticking her tongue out at him as she went back to the kitchen. Growing up didn't mean she had to stop having fun, and giving him a hard time was something she thoroughly enjoyed. As she washed the vegetables, she thought about what she could tell him. It wasn't that her and Keshi weren't getting along, it was more like there was something in the way. "We have great chemistry, and I can feel there's something there. I just don't know how to...remove whatever obstacle is in the way. It's like there's a wall or something, made of fear or insecurity and we're both just skirting around it. Trying to make sense of it and how to bring it down without unleashing ruin with it." She wasn't sad, as opposed to their last conversation. No, this Akemi was introspective and thoughtful. She had taken what Jashin had said to heart last time, and realized he was right. She had also realized that whatever this could be with her captain and commander...it would be worth it for how seen he made her feel. Like she was something good and that was enough.
Shaking her head, she dried the vegetables and placed them on the counter beside Jash. "I've done enough thinking about Takeshi, my floor is probably dented from all my pacing. Why don't you tell me about Rai? Seeing as how we already talked about the mission bit that was pissing you off." Her teasing tone was gone, she was being genuine in wanting to know what had happened. Her brother wasn't prone to lashing out or losing his temper. For him to feel this frustrated there must have been a lot of hurt and confusion under the surface. And so help her if Rai had hurt him, she'd risk everything to make that right if that were the case. And killing the blonde haired idiot was not out of the question.
