Akki stepped out onto the balcony that was attached to he window. Breathing in deeply she stretched her arms and looked up at the dark gray sky and around at the mist that lay on the streets. I smile spread across her face, a face that had not yet be covered by her cloth. He violet eyes looked down into the streets as he leaned on the railing. She was happy right here in her village. Where people walked to market surrounded by mist, and children laughed and played in the mist.
She watched as five small figures ran in and out of the mist that had settled along the street. Children playing in the early morning no doubt. Might be the only time they could play. Later in the day it would be time for them to do chores. Thinking of this Akki was pulled into her memories.
A child's scream broke right through her reflecting thoughts and brought her into the present. She looked down to see two of the five figures laying on the ground. She guessed this was where the noise was coming from. He hopped the balcony railing and dropped into the mist. Upon landing she dropped and rolled just like what was taught in school. Walking calmly to the still screaming kids she examined both of them. Both had a good sized bump on their head, something she would have never cried about. She shrugged and pulled both the kids to their feet and knelt to examine their faces.
She found two boys about nine looking back at her with tears in their eyes. She smiled gently at them. Now, whats all this cryin business? Strong men do not cry over pumps on the head. Be strong for the pretty girls around you, eh? Her voice was sweet and not ordering, or taunting. A soft chuckle lay on her lips when the boys blushed at the mention of girls. He ruffled both of their head as she stood up. Sliding her cloth over her face she turned and left, slipping her hands into her pockets and walking with a relaxed demeanor.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Over the last month, it had become customary for Ike to take mid-morning strolls. It gave him a chance to wake up, get some fresh air, and exercise his right to go out alone whenever he felt like it.
Today, a quaint residential area of Kirigakure had been chosen for such an excursion. It was quiet and calm, which was a nice change given his hectic home life. The situation between his parents had been growing worse and worse, and every moment he got to be outside the walls of his abode did him well in every regard.
"Huh, I wonder what Kouu's doing right n-" he began, but he was cut short by the ungodly sound of children wailing.
"Figures," the chuunin grumbled, his shoulders slumping forward. He stopped and gazed at the playground where the cries originated; the least he could do was take a moment to bid farewell to his peaceful morning.
However, much to his delight, the awful crying ceased. The source? A woman had approached the children and said a few words to them, quieting their bawling. She walked away from the scene soon after, and Ike felt compelled to talk to her.
Chasing toward jounin, he flagged her down with a wave and came up beside her.
"Hey! Hey! Nice job getting those kids to be quiet," he remarked. "I was just walking around and you know, I hear these kids crying and I'm like bleh I hate kids, what a bunch of butts, but you sure got them to shut up."
Ike wasn't much more than a kid himself with his attitude, but he seemed to be genuinely grateful for Akki's intervention.

As she was walking away Akki spotted a chunnin approaching her with and enthused look on his face. She stopped and let the male catch up to her. She calmly listened to the boy as he talk to and explained how greatful he was for her "getting them to shut up". Hey eyes looked down upon him even with his height. He felt that the boy should not feel such a way toward the kids, but he was a kid himself, a little older then the ones crying. She guessed this was the stage where he was rebelling against the kid side of him self. This made her smile behind her clothe when she thought about his use of butt.
"Well it was my pleasure to quiet down the youth. Racket such as that is annoying to most people, but understandable from kids of their age. One must learn to deal." She nodded lightly after talking, as if she thought over he words and then agreed with them. She looked up the road and then back at the boy. She noticed that he did not bring himself to attention when starting to conversation, nor did he engage in any of the other respectful manners that a lower ranked ninja should show to a Jounin. She shrugged unconcerned about it but she still felt the need to notify.
"What is your name?" She asked calmly as she held her left hand out as a invitation to walk with her. She would explain on the way to a tea house why he should be punished and why respect is important for shinobi.

Already, Ike had lost his enthusiasm to speak with the older nin. He gave her what attention he could muster, but her disposition made him grimace and reminded him of why he didn't like to spend much time around people who were older than he was.
"My name is Ike," he announced shortly after she asked, and that was all that passed his lips for some time as they walked together. Every now and then, he would make a face or roll his eyes; his mood was worsening, but he stuck around anyway.
By the end of the Jounin's wasted lecture, Ike had his arms folded across his chest as he prepared himself for his most necessary retort.
"Okay, you know what, I didn't know you were a Jounin when I said something to you, and even if I had, I wasn't talking to you as a shinobi, I was talking like you were a person, the same as me and everyone else. Hmph." Ike ended his angry counter with a huff and contemplated walking away from Akki. He didn't though, but he made it very clear that he wasn't pleased with their interactions thus far.

"Well it is good that you under stand Ike." Akki said happily. She knew that the young ninja would forget half of what she said. He would probably make the mistake again to a not so nice shinobi. She shrugged, it was not her place to protect him.
"So where are you headed Ike. Its kinda early in the morning to be walking around, hell if it wernt for them kids back there I would still be in my apartment eating breakfast." She nodded her head back towards the kids behind them as she spoke. As if timed she then yawned and looked back up at the sky as it was lighting up, but still leaving the world around them dark, covered by pregnant clouds due to burst.
Akki stopped at a small hole in the wall tea shop and checked her belt purse for its weight and to see if she had enough money for tea for two. She nodded her head toward the door.
"Come one Ike, I will pay you just have to drink. "

With a raised eyebrow and a shrug of his shoulders, Ike followed Akki into the tea house and accepted her offer to buy him a drink. He didn't particularly like tea, but he didn't mind it either. It was better than nothing.
"Uh, thanks," Ike said, nodding to the jounin as he did. The chuunin looked around and made a mental note of where they were. He knew the area fairly well, and it was actually closer to his home than the residential area the two had met at.
"So, uh..." the boy began, looking for something to say. "You never told me your name... or at least I don't think you did." Ike wasn't particularly interested in the answer, but his gaze remained on the woman.
As he awaited her reply, he inwardly wondered if his friend, Kouu, had ever met a jounin before. For a village of skilled nin, Ike had very little contact with higher, or even lower-ranked shinobi hailing from Kirigakure. It was bizarre, but he accepted that genin were likely busy with their teams, and jounin were depended upon for more important matters. Either way, at least he had something to take with him from this meeting besides a lecture and a cup of tea.
