[Graded]No One is Safe While the Undead Walk the Earth

Rising over a great dune... and hell itself expounded. Legions of shells and corpses, lifeless and limping, wandering up the dune to meet the Suna ninja that met with them. Hundreds, thousands of bodies, each and all of them tearing, slicing, bludgeoning, overwhelming what few Sand ninja had already arrived with sheer numbers -- or getting ready to try. Sut and Jiigo were among the first to arrive, the great dragon puppet easily outstripping many of the other ninja, with only a couple of ninja beside them to fight as well.

Sut's great Spider puppet emerged, and Jiigo's eyes widened as he saw it go to work. It didn't clear out all of the zombies, but it easily cleared a path for them... They'd get to Hito-Sama in no time at all, and all because of Sut-Sama's single offensive... Is this... is this the power of the Eidolons!?

After the massive army of the undead, and the incredible might of the Eidolons, the next thing Jiigo noticed as he surveyed the area for Hito (who was relatively easy to find) was the absence of God. The Kazekage... He should be here... What's happening? He saw the stone shelter in which the Kazekage was hidden, but made no assumptions. God did not hide. God did not break down. Whatever was in there was something else -- most assuredly not the Kazekage.

"Hito-Sama!" Nefarious' Chains extended even before they got into range, and the Jar would make it's approach to the demigod with all the speed Jiigo could muster.

Did that fool genuinely think that a mere piece of cloth would save him!? His soul was strong, his will stronger, and he had a bit of a defense, but it didn't stop the Shigenma from bringing him just a little closer to perfection. This poor and contemptible creature would survive, his soul would remain in his body, but only until his will gave out. As he battled with the demon of souls, he would have to fight just to hold on to the very thing that made Hito Ouji the man he was. Identity and life would slip away from him -- unless Hito's mental grasp proved stronger than the demon's itself.

Then came a dragon, and riding on it a boy with a jar. Shishire did not know what it was, exactly, but he would not have these creatures preventing his perfection! What fools they all were, fighting and struggling! hishire would show them all! With a flash of energy and his incredible strength, the zombies Sut had exploded would be still be exploded, but individual pieces would gain small shards of soul: arms would drag themselves along the ground with their finger tips, head would hop at them, legs would run towards and kick. All the blast had done was make smaller and less refined targets. Shishire would not allow these fool creatures to live in their imperfection! He would complete them all! Zombies still in tact would make their way towards the trio as well, though enough remained to prove a challenge to the Suna nin that encroached on their battlefield.

Disgusting little creatures... Shishire would perfect them all!

As it blast struck, Hito yelled loudly with pain, something he hadn't done since he was a child. Hito was never affected by physical pain, it was a mere sense and he knew very well how to dull it with his mind and control it. But this... this was pain like no other. Hito had as much knowledge of the human body as an expert doctor, and this pain could not be produced even if his entire body was set aflame.

In what was only a second, Hito felt an eternity of pain course through his very being. The world went very bright for a second, before going completely black. His pain was gone, as was any other physical sense. He saw, heard, smelled, felt and said nothing. He felt weightless, in fact, he felt as if he had no body.

Was this it? This was the end? The afterlife was much more..dreary than he expected. Although it was admittedly relaxing; euphorically so, now that he thought about it. How amazing! He was just so light. There was nothing weighing him down, he could float beyond the heavens at this state.

"Hahaha"
Dear God. When was the last time I laughed like that? There wasn't a last time, for he NEVER laughed like that. He'd never been this carefree. No more expectations of him, no more goals, no more ambition, no more enemies, no more family, no more Kazekage, no more Suna.

No more Suna.

Wait... what was this? He was dead? That deplorable creature defeated his clan's technique and managed to destroy Hito? "Am I that weak?" He felt a sudden jerk as a familiar weight returned to his being. A part of him rebelled violently, this was the most serene moment of his life, every fiber of his mentality begged him not to change it.

"Am I that useless?" Suddenly his sight returned, he could see the world around him. It all seemed frozen, as if an Ouji had stopped the world. He could see the blinding light that was the Genma's attack. It hadn't even fully connected with him, but it managed to send him into that magnificent limbo. Oh how magnificent it was.

Despite it only being a milisecond ago, Hito longed for it once more. A heavy feeling of nostalgia, as if he had spent his entire life there, hit him full on. He began to close his eyes reflexively, longing to aid in remembering what it used to feel like. Before his eyelids closed, he caught a glimpse of something in the corner of his eye.

The stone shelter he had created earlier. The capsule that held the now shattered Kazekage. The fallen god, the poor old man. Hito knew how close he was to his assistant. They were extremely professional and very discreet, but there was no doubt in his mind that the two had something real, something beyond mere physical attraction. Hito wondered idly if he'd ever have that.

He wondered if he'd ever become that.

That man stood on the top of the world, watching down from the heavens. He had been waiting for somebody to take his place. It was probably such a taxing job, being god. Hito was going to relieve him of the position. Hito was going to be the next god. But now...

"I can't be done."

The smell of rotting corpses, sweat, dirt, ash and miscallenous scents given off by the other shinobi suddenly flooded Hito's nose as his sense of smell returned. His mind grew suddenly sharper, as if beginning to lift from a drug induced haze, but not quite out of it just yet.

Examining his body, Hito saw no injury. He saw no wound. He was still alive?

"No. I can't be done."

The sounds of the battlefield flooded his ears. Hauntingly so, for all still seemed to be frozen. He could hear the screams and explosions, the battle cries and the yells of pain leading up to the moment he was struck. His brethren. His children. His people. They were crying out to him.

"I'M NOT DONE YEEET!!" He hollered defiantly into the blast of mysterious chakra as it pushed right through and around him. The battlefield around him moved once more as everything returned to real time. Hito wasn't sure what just happened, but he sure as hell wasn't going to wait to think about it.

"Hito-sama!"

Recognizing the voice, Hito turned quickly to catch a glimpse of none other than Jiigo. His puppet extending something Hito's direction. It was la- the soul jar! An immense sense of pride welled inside of him, but he had no time to express it now. So instead, he desperately performed a massively long string of hand seals as he jetted towards the jar at full speed.

He could see the multitude of zombie puppets arriving from each direction, but he didn't care. With a ferocious yell, he finished his hand seals, grabbed the jar and opened it in the direction of the Genma. "I will not let you corrupt heaven."

Hito felt a wave of chakra remove itself from his body and project instead into the jar. His sudden fatigue was nothing, however, compared to his relief. He would not fail. He absolutely would not.

The Genma had no idea what was happening until it was too late, until it felt it's own soul being sucked away. They thought they could seal the soul of the demon with power over the soul itself!? They had another thing coming!

Actually, no. It turned out they were pretty much right.

With a roar and a bellar and a cursing of his adversary in an ancient tongue, Shishire the Demon of Souls was sucked into the soul jar, the corpses and bodies falling immediately, lifeless and powerless before even one more Suna life could be lost.
The moment the jar was out of Jiigo's charge, the genin was on the ground, killing zombies. Or rather, he'd meant to be. Haruna -- who had emerged shortly after Jiigo, her family somehow having caught up far more quickly than he'd anticipated -- launched words which cleared out the ones near him, and by the time Jiigo had reached the first zombie to strike, they were down.

Jiigo sighed in both relief and disappointment, the action over before he could even take one zombie down. Once more, however, Haruna showed her impressive prowess. The genin wanted to go to her, but the remnants of the Shigenma's army stood between them, and he had a mission to follow up on, and a master to check in with. With the genma gone... what came next?

Jiigo (and possibly Sut) were the first to kneel before Hito, respectfully waiting for... something. Wherever the Kazekage was, it was not here. That meant the demigod Hito would be giving orders. After a moment, Jiigo would speak. "Hito-Sama... You did it!" Well of course he did! He was a demi-god, afterall. "We're... ready to accept your orders, Hito-Sama." He stood, gesturing back to all of the ninja who had come to fight by this great man's side. He spoke for himself, and for all those who were ready to accept his will as their own. As God's own. The salvation of the village was about to speak. And the village he had saved, if they were like Jiigo, would listen.

Hope and joy spread throughout the ninja army as the Genma was captured. Everything went as plan. Brethern had fallen, but this was so much greater. They had all witnessed the Kazekage fighting the undying beast, as then Hito came up to help Sunagakure no Sato with the beast. Hoorahs and screams of happiness ran everywhere. As the last undead had fallen, the noise grew and grew. Maybe even Kiri could have heard the rabble, but they all didn't care.

Suna had won.

Sut gave the note into his headseat, giving Dango an update, which included the fact that the beast had been captured.

Everything was good. Everything was perfect. Sut, however, had different orders. "EVERYBODY, WE NEED TO GET THE INJURED BACK TO A CAMP A CAMP THAT WAS SET UP 1/3TH OF A MILE BACK. ANYONE CAPABLE OF ANY IIJUTSU IS ORDERED TO HELP OUT IN ANY WAY THEY CAN."

His normal voice wouldn't have completed this task, which is why he had to use another one of his jutsu, placing chakra into his vocal cords, increasing his volume output. Doing so, however, put a big strain on his own vocal chords, putting them out of commission for a while. It was needed, however, as his voice had to be heard over the rest of the shouts of joy.

This was a shout of need.

Sut's message was received by the leader of the Eidolons, who was estatic. Barely being sble to contain himself, the man gave commands through his headset. "ALL TROOPS, REPORT. THE BEAST IS DOWN. I REPEAT, THE BEAST IS DOWN."

With that, he turned to ninja around him. "The defenses can go down!"

Switching the station on the radios, he communicated directly to Unten and Oben. "Twins. Both of you report to the battlefield. Ouji-san needs help and you two would be the best to do so. Understand your orders?"

With that done, Dango started to work on the own defenses that he had control of, making sure everything went smoothly.

They had won!.

The Dasu twins had been waiting for the entire ordeal. While they hated it dearly, they were an important waiting point. They were to be used if anything had happened during the attack. Defensive duties sucked, especially whenever Hito-sama was able to go fight. However, the were starting to get used to these types of orders, as they were normally more... connected to the Genma than the other Eidolons. Whether or not this was a good or bad thing, however, would be shown much, much later.

As Dango messaged them, they immediately understood the weight of his words. While it was probably passed down through different messengers, the twins understood the real meaning.

Hito was still in danger.

It could have been an offensive threat, but they assumed it to be something much different. Hito had a habit of pushing himself to the extremes, whenever Suna was in danger. A Genma attack was this exact situation.

Had Hito pushed himself too far?

Was Hito dying?

That was not a question that Unten nor Oben wanted answered. Immediately taking off, the twins made their way towards the battlefield. Hito needed their support.

Now.

This was bad. His stamina was at its very limits, but he couldn't stop now. Dropping the soul jar as gingerly as he could without collapsing himself, Hito subtly leaned against it while standing back upright and staring out into the loyal shinobi that followed him.

They cheered and applauded wildly, and while Hito wanted to allow that, he had no time. He wanted to stand their and watch them, relish in his glory and bathe in his pride. Unfortunately, the more time he spent standing, the more likely he was to die.

Mustering up all of his strength, Hito spoke. "Amazing work, comrades. We managed to seal the beast with minimal damage. Never has a village been so efficient in their capture of one of these demons. Never has a village been so glorious and effective in their defense. Everything was beautifully done and you all deserve applause. These demons saw what it meant to challenge the village of the heavens." Allowing a very brief moment for applause, Hito pretended to look pensively into the sky, while in reality using the sun to make it hard to realize he was actually trying to catch his breath.

When the applause dimmed down and Hito's breath returned, he looked back into the crowd and gave his last instructions. "Any able bodied shinobi is to listen to the Eidolon's orders at this point. Our goal is to count our losses and save any fallen comrades. We also need to return to the village as fast as possible. I will bring the soul jar back myself. Now go, all of you quickly. We can't leave the village open for attack. Quickly, all of you!" Hito sounded panicked slightly at the end, both in an attempt to make everyone belief they had to rush back, and because he couldn't keep this facade up much longer.

With everyone rushing to leave, Hito moved slowly and positioned his body behind the soul jar as the twins arrived. He couldn't risk anybody seeing his weakness, and he was certain there had to be others from other villages around watching them.

Motioning for the twins to come closer, Hito spoke quietly, for it was the most he could muster. His voice was feeble and there were heavy, painful breaths in between each word. "Sensei... I'm near death. I need one of you t...agh.. to mold with me. Carry me subtly with soul jar in hand back to the village. We need to strike hope. Especially... especially now." Painfully, Hito turned to stare at the dome of earth he had created. His eyes flared as the Ouji technique was deactivated and everything was unfrozen, including his cloak that flapped to the ground. "The Kazekage is in there. He's mentally broken, his assistant dead. Cover them both with the cloak and sneak them into the village. Nobody must see. Contact the Eidolon, tell them to start making people think the Kazekage was the one that ensured all the village defenses were set up. Also ensure they open up a path for you to enter with nobody seeing. I realize you two can't be split for long, so try and get somebody to help. Especially since we don't know how the kazekage will re-" for a brief moment, Hito went completely limp and began to fall to the ground. Had he not wisely positioned himself in front of the soul jar, he would have completely sunk to the ground.

After a brief moment, his eyes suddenly opened and he continued speaking. "Q..quickly. Tell Eidolon to hide everything. Other villages must be watching. Genma had a huge army, had to come from somewhere. Other villages must have ... se....en... His voice trailed off as Hito once again lost consciousness. He was unconscious again, this time seemingly for good.

He wasn't going to wake up anytime soon. If it was while approaching the village, the twins could slap him awake for a few seconds in case anybody saw his face, but that'd be about the extent of it.

The twins arrived just in time, it seemed. While they didn't need to be told, they both split up, both acting upon the orders given. Hito had pushed himself to his limits, and one of the twins needed to help. Oben split to go with the Kazekage, as Unten stayed with Hito, immediately fusing with him. It was good that Hito was a prefered host for Unten, to hasten the transformation. Being the Bannin's arms and legs, Unten's eyes just barely peeked out, making it appear as if he wasn't even there. Hito wanted to make the twins unseen, so Unten did his best to comply.

Oben, on the other hand, was a bit shocked to see the Kage in this state. Were the Phantoms really this strong to put both of the S ranked fighters in this condition? Oben wasn't given an order to think, though. He had a job to do and that was to protect the Kage's image. Fusing with the Kage, Oben started his work, carrying the secretary for the divine man. It was very hard on Oben's mind, but it was a task he was given. He had to do it.

As they walked, Unten popped his head out enough to give a command to Dango, transferring Hito's orders.

Even though Hito was being a bit selfless at this moment, he was thinking about the Kage.

This was all for the Kage.

While some of the ninja noticed the twins, most weren't caring, as they were celebrating, while completing the final task that Hito ordered them to do. Following Sut's order, they did everything needed. Clean up crews would be here later to finish the process.

The Aomori clan would be satisfied for the next few weeks.

Haruna's words had whirled through the air as she had fought of the encroching zombie army. And then, it had been over. In an amazing display the giant beast she had done research on had vanished into the jar Jiigo had been carrying. It had been a glorious site, one she would be sure never to forget. The cheers erupted from everywhere as everyone realized the battle was over. Haruna had been so happy that everything had finished, and grew even happier to hear Banin Hito give the speech. Haruna had Goliath, who had been summoned out during the fight, lift her high into the air so she could get a great view. At the end, he told every able bodied shinobi to listen to seek instruction for what to do from the Eidolon. As everyone scattered, Haruna looked around for the members of her family, but couldn't see any of them yet. She watched from her hightened perch as the legendary Unten and Oben rushed to Hito.

'He said seek order from the Eidolon.' thought Haruna. 'And those two are two of the best around.'

She smiled as she started to make her way towards the two great Eidolon puppeteers to ask what orders they had for her. From her well over fifteen foot tall perch she started to wade through the massive crowd going in the opposite direction, though as she went she saw something strange. The Dasu twins she was going to seek instruction from split apart, disappearing into the bodies of Hito and the Kazekage. Her expression grew confused for a second. First off, because didn't understand why the twins had just merged with their illustrious leaders, but more importantly because she didn't know weather to ask for orders from them or not now that they were techinally merged with non-Eidolons. It was definitly an awesome chance to get to talk with the Kazekage or Banin Hito if she chose to try talking to one of the twins who were inside them, but still, it also seemed a bit...akward.

She hesitated, still staring from her tall perch as everyone else ran the other way, trying to think whether or not she should still ask for orders, when she noticed something else. The body being carried by the Kazekage. Her eye widened before tears began to form in her eyes. His assistant. She was...

The tears fell down her cheeks. Now she knew not to ask for orders. She had long heard of how close the Kazekage and his assistant had been. Best friends, at the least, though she had often heard rumors of romance as well. She couldn't imagine how hard such a thing must be for the Kazekage. She knew many people in the village, her boyfriend included, considered the Kazekage almost a diety. An invinsible force that could not be damaged, but Haruna knew he, like every other mortal, had a heart. As she thought of the corpse in his hand, she started to realize, now that they had stopped moving, exactly how many people had died during this disaster. Her eyes fell upon the carpet of corpses. She was happy that their souls had been released, but to see so many dead.

This was no longer a victory march. It was a funeral procession. She looked at all the corpses of people who had died in the protection of Suna, and immediatly she knew what to do. They had died defending their home land, and like all those who passed away from this mortal coil, they deserved the honor due to them. Without any thought the girl had her giant puppet carry her through the field of corpses. Everywhere she went, words appeared on the corpses.

"In honor of those who died in battle.
In honor of those who gave their lives for their country
In honor of those who showed the ultimate form of love
And gave their life so that others may live
May your souls truly rest in peace"

On every corpse she began to write these words with her justu. This was her respect to the dead. This was her way of honoring them. She knew they would probably be burned soon, joined to the sand, but before that happened she wanted to honorthem through the physical bodies they left behind. The mass funeral of Suna had started.
