Meetings in Suna

Post by Soban » Sun Oct 27, 2024 8:35 pm

Aimi stood outside of the great gates of Suna. The oppressive heat from the sun beat down on her dark skin and uniform. Her green flack jacket marked her as being out of place. First, because green wasn't a common color here deep in the desert. Second, because it marked her as a Kohona ninja. Suna's place in the current order was complicated. Normally Rain Ninja would kill a Leaf ninja like Aimi on sight. However, Suna was one of the few places that wasn't true. That meant she should be, if not safe, than less unsafe. She looked up, spotting Ninjas on the walls. She wondered briefly who was going to be the one to follow her. Not that she would know probably.

She shifted her pack and walked forwards to the checkpoint manned by two ninja. One of them with long straight purple hair looked like a Genin, like herself. The other had blue hair and was definitely some kind of Jonin. The two scrutinized her carefully as she approached. She pulled her papers out and handed them to the Genin who approached her. "My name is Aimi Miyamoto, a Leaf Village Ninja acting as a courier."

Now that the Genin was closer, she could see it was a girl about her own age. Her skin was dark from tanning, but clearly originally light. Aimi was much darker than her. "Akemi Uehashi." She looked at her papers for a while. "I don't see anything out of place here. Put your backpack off so we can inspect the package."

Aimi shrugged off the large backpack, setting it down on the sand between them. "Here you go." Akemi picked it up and took it over to the Jonin who went through it with Akemi. Even though the backpack wasn't even hers, it felt like a violation as they rummaged through it. Far as she could tell, they didn't take anything. She sighed in relief as Akemi returned with the backpack. "Here you go, don't stick around too long or look at anything too much."

Aimi nodded, "First time here, anything I should see or perhaps a good ramen place?" She asked.

Akemi narrowed her eyes, but relented for a moment. "Menya Rui has a really good Tsukemen Ramen. Tell them Akemi sent you."

Aimi shrugged the large backpack back on. "Thanks, I'll be sure to do that."

With that, Aimi headed into the massive ninja village. She looked around, seeing the gardens that were everywhere. The contrast between the lush greenery and stone was beautiful to her. She followed the directions, finally knocking on the door where the person she was supposed to give the package to was.
