It was bright and early, much earlier than Koyuki would normally wake, but she had unfortunately been woken from her blissful rest by her mother dropping off urgent orders for her. The woman's expression at the time had been hard to read... a mix of excitement, worry, and she could have sworn she saw a hint of confusion in there as well. Nonetheless the orders had requested that she head out immediately and while she wasn't at all happy about it, it was clear that she had no choice.

As she walked, all the while stifling a yawn, she couldn't help but wonder what was going on... It was clear that there was a matter of utmost urgency at hand but what could it be? What could possibly require HER presence specifically? Even first thing in the morning at that? Even stranger still was the total lack of any real information, telling her only to come and that the situation would be explained upon her arrival. It was clear that Mum knew what was going on but that only rose more questions.

Oh well, all my questions will surely be answered in time. she thought to herself, taking a moment to stretch as she reached the village gates. This was whereabouts she had been told to wait for an escort and so she took a seat against the nearby wall, waiting and watching for whoever she was to meet up with.

Hopefully this doesn't take too long...

Through the southern gate of the village, an old man with no hair atop his head approached at a sluggish pace. His skin was well tanned from living a long life out in the desert sun, Kiiro was adorned with almost ragged looking yellow robe and pants, a simple pair of thin wooden sandals was the only thing protecting his feet from the scorching sands of Wind country as he moved to the check point. A large set of wooden mala bead were wrapped around his neck hanging down to around his mid chest as a smaller set could be found around each wrist and ankle, on his wrinkled face one was able to see a striking large mustache that looked almost like two tiny daggers that came down on each side of the man's thin lips. Yet, the most striking and distinctive features had to be the yellow diamond gemstones that were on the outside of each hand and the one placed directly in the center of the old, retired shinobi's forehead.

A former ninja, Kiiro was from the Kouseki clan, but that was a life he left behind nearly three decades ago and truly hadn't spent much time within the village since then. Having taken up the position as the head monk at the far south sun goddess temple in Wind country in order to spend time with and protect his son at the time. Yet now, his son wanted to fight against the Iwa occupation and grudgingly the man had agreed as he couldn't just let the boy go at it alone. While he still saw the grown man as his little son, the son of Kiiro had just turned thirty but this would be his first time visiting the actual village. 'This is Suna?' A deep voice echoed in the old man's thoughts as they came to the check point and he showed the guards his identification paperwork, as they looked over it he mentally replied 'Yes, though it is still being repaired from the invasion this is mine and your mother's home village, you were born here.

The monster sized man that hid within the fragile old monk's frame narrowed his eyes, he knew that he was born here but to see it in person was a different story as he shared the same vision and senses as his father at the moment while they were fused as one. After a few moments the guards gave the bald monk back his paperwork and Kiiro returned them with pray hands as he departed, "Peace be with you." His soft voice matching his rather unintimidating looks as it almost appeared a strong wind could pick the man up. Giving his goodbyes to the village guards he continued to move as he navigated the streets quickly. He only had a single reason for returning to the village today, on urgent business. If it wasn't dealing with Janesisu than he wouldn't have risked bringing his son here but there were things the young man needed to see and experience to fully understand just what he was getting into.

It only took the old yellow garbed monk about ten minutes to navigate the maze of streets and alleyways before he came upon the one, he was looking for, the young girl was there with her mother in the appointed meeting spot. With both hands behind his back as he walked, the old man quietly approached until he eventually stood in front of the mother daughter pair. 'Is she the one?' 'Yes, this girl is the one I'm here for.' "Koyuki, I presume?" Kiiro took the moment to speak first to the pair as he glanced from the mother to the daughter as he spoke. For genma candidates, few knew this, but they were tested for their aptitude secretly during the academy and ranked into a classified system. The young shinobi before him was ranked rather highly based on her chances of being able to sync with the powerful weapon of Suna, but in the end such a thing would only be up to her.

After confirming the identification of the girl, he would turn his bright yellow eyes to the mother, "We need to move to another place." This wasn't the time nor the place to speak to much about what was going on, but after they moved to the next area, they would be able to fill in all the questions. "Let us walk together." With that the man gave a friendly smile beneath his spiked mustache and his kind face nodded to the two women before turning to his right and beginning to walk away expecting them to follow behind him.

As she awaited her escort Koyuki was soon joined by her mother Kyoko. "I'm sorry hon, I was just worried. Your dad wanted to come too but I told him no." she had said, Koyuki having let out a very loud sigh in response. Mum clearly knew what was going on so there wasn't much use in trying to send her back home and having her around was admittedly quite reassuring.

That had been about ten minutes prior... Just as she was beginning to wonder again where the escort was, she caught the sound of two pairs of footsteps. Mere moments later finally two men came into view, one quite elderly and ragged and the other being quite the shocking sight... monstrous and perhaps even a bit grotesque. Maybe normal folks would have been terrified at seeing the latter but she could sense that she was looking at a gentle giant.

"Ah yes, I'm Shinsen Koyuki and this is my mother Kyoko." she responded, tearing her gaze away from the large man as the elder spoke to her. She was admittedly more nervous than ever and couldn't help but look towards her mother, the woman silently smiling as the pair briefly locked eyes. Really, what was with that weird mix of worry and pride that she could see in her mother's eyes?

"Wait, where are we going?" she asked as she turned away and moved to follow the man. "This is something big... isn't it?" She wasn't certain but the way the man had spoken... The urgency with which he walked as he led the way towards some mysterious location. Something big was happening and she was at the center of it, but what could that possibly be?

[OOC: His son is current fused into and hiding within Kiiro's body.]

"Answers will come at the right time." The old man's aged voice was directed toward the younger of the two women, having glanced just slightly over his right shoulder before giving a slight nod to the girl's mother. It was indeed a rather urgent matter with the passing of the former host a new one needed to be immediately found and sealed. Normally the process was different but due to the Iwa occupation this needed to be as secretly done as possible. With the two lovely shinobi in tow the old man's skinny legs seemed to pick up the pace as they took an sharp right that led the trio down onto a main street with many individuals of all walks inter-mingled as they walked past one another on their own daily business.

A few minutes down the road the man took a left onto a side street now as the number of people began to thin out, slowing his pace in order to walk alongside the pair of women. It now looked less like he was leading them somewhere and instead that they were a group simply out and about on this warm morning. Kiiro's bright yellow eyes appeared to only be about half open, but it helped conceal the sharp gaze contained with them as he observed around them with all his senses. But he was not alone in this endeavor as his hidden son whose senses were more acute than his own were also on the alert.

'Seems okay for now.' The bald man spoke to his son mentally who simply replied back with a quick voice, 'No one seems to be following us.' With the confirmation from Youkai the man spoke aloud to his new traveling companions, "Take a left at this next alleyway." The words spoken just loud enough for the two beside him to hear as he continued to walk with both hands clapped gently behind his lower back. In front of them was a slightly narrow alleyway entrance and when they turned down it they were able to see some trash scattered on the ground with a few dumpsters along the length of the probably sixty foot long path. Almost as soon as they entered it became to tight to walk with more than two people shoulder to shoulder and Kiiro once again took the lead.

Passing a small dumpster on their right a homeless looking man was leaned up against where the brown metal dumpster met the stone wall. Things were a bit different than before the Iwa conquest of Suna, this scene was much more normal than it had been in the past. The scuffy looking bigger glanced up at the old man who returned his gaze with a faintly visible nod of his bald head. Slowly the figure got up as they passed and moved to block the view down the alleyway behind them.

Halfway down the alley he turned to his left and stopped at a damaged looking portion of the building wall, glancing to his left and right before shifting his yellow hue gaze onto the duo. "Just a bit further" The slender, wrinkled fingers of the elderly man woven rapidly into seals before one hand broke from the seal weaving and lightly touched the wall. Fuuin lines that had previously been invisible to the naked eye slowly came to life. The concealment formation slowly opened like a portal swirling into existence as then man gestured with his left hand for them to follow along into the prior concealed opening.

Koyuki couldn't help but tilt her head in puzzlement as they walked along, soon entering a part of the village that she didn't quite recognize. A quick glance towards her mother showed the woman with an expression that she couldn't quite read. She had always known that Mom had had quite the sense of justice so seeing a slum within the village probably ate at her. She couldn't really blame her for that either... Between the filth and extremely narrow alleys this part of the village didn't really seem suited for habitation and yet this was where the homeless called home. The thought of the occupation having potentially only made it worse made her heart ache...

With all that said, as they walked through this sad slum she was growing more confused by the moment. By now it had become clear that they weren't meeting with anyone or anything. She had thought maybe there was a mission at hand but it was becoming clear that wasn't it either. They were heading somewhere to do something and whatever it was had to be done in the utmost secrecy.

That sense only grew stronger as they stopped in front of a damaged building, though she wouldn't have long to wonder why. "Whoa..." she muttered in amazement as a Fuuin powered door suddenly opened within the wall.

As Kiiro gestured for them to follow she opened her mouth to speak but just as quickly closed her mouth, finding that she had no words. Instead she silently followed along towards... whatever it was that awaited her inside this mysterious place.

As the old monk’s aged fingers moved in a simple wave, the swirling portal behind him and the two women—a mother and her daughter—collapsed with a low hum. The concealed passageway shimmered briefly before solidifying into the appearance of a distressed stone wall, its defensive arrays interwoven seamlessly. In the dim light of the passage, glowing *fūin* inscriptions illuminated the narrow path, spaced at intervals of ten to fifteen meters. The trio moved with purpose, their footsteps echoing faintly in the confined stone corridor.

"Now that we are in a safer space..." The old man’s voice, deep and ancient, resonated faintly, his tone measured yet grave. He glanced over his left shoulder at the pair following close behind.

"You’ve been chosen, young one," he continued, his golden irises gleaming with an otherworldly light that matched the yellow diamond embedded in his forehead. "This chance will affect your destiny—and perhaps even the fate of this village." Kiiro sighed as he turned back to the path ahead, his expression heavy with unspoken burdens. The monk gave her a slight nod, urging her to reveal the truth she had so long withheld.

As they walked, Kiiro reached out, pressing his wrinkled fingers against the wall. The passage behind them groaned and shifted, walls and ceiling rearranging as though alive, sealing off the path they had just traveled. Ahead, a new tunnel opened, descending deeper into the earth. This maze-like network served as the ultimate safeguard, leading to the sacred chamber where generations of *Genma* hosts had been sealed.

After a time, the trio arrived at a towering archway, nearly ten meters tall, blocked by a massive stone slab. Kiiro stepped forward, his hand glowing with a maroon chakra as he struck the stone with a gentle palm. The energy coursed through the barrier, splitting it cleanly in two. The slabs groaned as they slid aside, revealing the chamber beyond. "Please, enter." Though his tone was polite, the monk’s commanding presence left no room for hesitation. The mother and daughter followed him into the cavernous room, their awe evident.

The chamber was vast, carved into the very bedrock beneath the desert sands. It stretched nearly two hundred meters in length and width, with a curved ceiling that rose a hundred meters above them. Glowing *fuūin* arrays dotted the walls and ceiling, casting a soft, ethereal light. In the center of the chamber was a fifty-meter-square platform of black stone, accessible by a set of worn stairs. At its heart stood a large sealing jar, one meter wide and two meters tall, surrounded by an intricate web of inscriptions.

Two stone beds flanked the jar, each three meters long and covered in carved sigils that connected to larger circular patterns etched into the platform. One bed was occupied, though the figure beneath the pristine white sheet was obscured. Their small frame suggested a child. Kiiro paused, closing his eyes as he stepped onto the platform. Folding his hands in prayer, he murmured, "Peace be with you, young one." The weight of his words carried a deep sadness, a sorrow not lost on the mother and daughter.

This was the previous host of the Heaven *Genma*, a child who had failed to control the spirit’s immense power. But the truth was far darker: the seal had been sabotaged, and the *Genma* had broken free—not by the child’s failure, but through deliberate manipulation. Kiiro bore the guilt of these actions, sacrifices made in the name of the greater good.

After a moment of silence, Kiiro gestured for the young girl to approach. "Please, lay down here," he instructed, motioning to the unoccupied stone bed. By now, the girl understood why she was here; her mother had explained during their journey through the tunnels. The monk’s fingers moved with astonishing speed, forming a complex series of hand seals. As his palms touched the ground, a burst of chakra smoke enveloped the platform. When the smoke cleared, the room was gone.

They now stood in an endless desert beneath a cloudless sky, the burning sun beating down mercilessly. The stone platform remained, but everything else had transformed into a barren, windswept expanse. Kiiro’s voice rang out, commanding and urgent. "Come forth, servants of Her Light!" Three massive clouds of chakra smoke erupted around the platform, revealing enormous spiritual summons. To one side was a black-and-red serpent-like dragon with a single pair of wings and two mouths, its sharp teeth gleaming menacingly. Opposite it, a golden dragon with griffin-like features gleamed like metal in the sunlight, its body radiating power. On the third side loomed a colossal, one-hundred-meter-tall figure with an Egyptian-style headdress, its cobalt-blue stone form glowing with energy.

Kiiro’s usually calm voice was edged with urgency. "We must hurry before we are discovered!" His words hinted at the forbidden nature of their ritual, a secret that defied the will of the Sunagakure authorities.

To say Koyuki was shocked by the revelation of what it was that awaited her would have been the understatement of the century "I..." she attempted to respond, to argue that maybe a mistake had been made, but the words didn't come. Like seriously, her? A Jinchuuriki? There was no possible way but even in the midst of these impossible odds she couldn't deny the sight before her. The sealed chamber, the urn in the center, the clearly dead body that she was trying her utmost to ignore... It was all very real and it added up with everything up to now... Whether it was the urgency and secrecy or the borderline unreadable expression her mother still wore even now, it all made much more sense.

It took a moment but soon enough she shook her head, breaking out of her stupor as she head Kiiro speak to her once more. Wordlessly she approached the stone bed and laid on it as she had been told. "Alright, let's just get this over with." she muttered to herself, closing her eyes as she did in an attempt to calm her racing nerves. Perhaps it was a testament to her somewhat lazy and generally carefree nature but there was something about just laying still with her eyes closed that put her at ease and helped her to relax.

Meanwhile... "She's going to be okay... right?" her mother Shinsen Kyoko asked, brow furrowed as she watched the ritual unfold from a safe distance. While she didn't know much about how these things went, it was clear to the woman that this wasn't an average sealing. The desert scenery and the massive dragons didn't seem fully necessary, and she couldn't help but raise a brow at how impatient or generally in a hurry Kiiro seemed to be, but all she could do was trust that Kiiro knew what he was doing and believe in her daughter to pull through.

"Very good," the blade-headed man said with a slight nod to the young girl as she began to grasp the gravity of the situation. Around them, his realm summoning unfolded, transforming the space into an endless desert. At its heart was an elevated stone platform where four figures stood. Two large stone slabs lay on either side of a giant ceramic jar that dominated the center. Koyuki moved toward one slab, her movements deliberate and hesitant, while the opposite bed already bore the lifeless form of a slender girl—the former host of the Creation Genma.

The sight tugged at Kiiro's conscience, though he buried his guilt beneath years of resolve. The deceased host had been a shinobi from Iwa, an enemy state. She could have been a powerful and celebrated wielder of the Genma’s immense power had he not sabotaged her seal. Her death was an unfortunate but necessary outcome of the dangerous maneuver to extract the spirit and imprison it within the massive jar now before them.

The jar itself, a towering vessel of weathered clay, was etched with crimson symbols that seemed to pulse faintly with suppressed energy. Rusty chains bound it tightly, their ends driven deep into the stone platform as though anchoring a beast that still strained against its captivity. Kiiro, garbed in the faded yellow robes of a monk, stepped forward. Despite his frail appearance, his presence commanded respect. From his back, the immense form of a giant man with rippling muscles and flowing black hair emerged, his features rough but calm. This was Youkai, Kiiro’s son—a gentle giant who stood in stark contrast to his intimidating size.

Normally, Kiiro would not have involved his son in such perilous work. But the young man, drawn to the quiet rebellion brewing against Iwa’s oppressive forces in Wind Country, needed to see firsthand the harsh realities of their world. If he was to fight for the liberation of Suna, he had to understand that such battles often demanded impossible sacrifices.

Kiiro’s deep, measured voice broke the silence. "My father will do everything in his power," Youkai said softly, speaking for the older man who was already forming intricate hand seals. "But we must lend him our strength as well."

Gesturing to the mother of the young girl, Kiiro added, "Stand here and place your hand upon his back. He will need all the chakra we can spare to complete the seal."

The broad-shouldered Youkai stepped forward, his massive hand—easily twice the size of a normal man’s—resting gently on the monk's shoulder. A maroon aura of chakra radiated from him, flowing down his arm and enveloping his entire body. The same energy began to pulse around the three ethereal dragon spirits Kiiro had summoned, their forms gliding above the platform in a protective triangular formation.

"Open!" Kiiro’s voice rang out as a colossal crimson arm of chakra materialized from his aura. It gripped the jar’s cork stopper and wrenched it free, releasing a brilliant burst of white light that illuminated the desert realm. The Creation Genma’s energy surged forth, its form humanoid yet impossibly radiant, thrumming with an otherworldly power.

"Constrict!" Kiiro commanded. Three thick chains of maroon chakra shot out from the dragon spirits, their lengths seemingly infinite as they coiled around the Genma’s limbs and neck. The spirit thrashed violently, its power growing by the second, but the chains held firm. Kiiro wove a second set of seals, summoning a barrier that encased the platform in a protective dome, further sapping the Genma’s strength.

This task would have been daunting even for a team of experienced sealers. Alone, Kiiro’s chances were slim, but the combined strength of his son, the girl’s mother, and his summoned spirits tipped the odds in their favor. Two additional chains emerged, binding the Genma more tightly as it was drawn above Koyuki’s prone form. The beast’s eyeless face turned toward Kiiro, its presence emanating rage and vengeance. Though it had no voice, its silent fury spoke volumes, blaming the old monk for the death of its former host.

Kiiro’s body trembled under the strain. Sweat dripped from his brow as he pressed his palms together in prayer, seeking strength from Her Light, the divine goddess worshipped by the people of Suna. He whispered for forgiveness—for what he had done and for what he was about to do. Opening his eyes, he cast a brief glance at his son and the young girl’s mother before stepping to Koyuki’s side.

Leaning over her, he smiled faintly, his weathered face softening. "The rest will be up to you, young one," he said, his voice carrying both hope and solemnity.

Kiiro’s trembling hands exposed Koyuki’s stomach, where he placed his palm. A surge of maroon chakra spread from his hand, forming intricate fuuin seals that spiraled outward to cover her entire body. Koyuki would feel the foreign chakra invade her, a strange and almost suffocating sensation as the seals created a prison within her.

"Seal!" Kiiro’s voice boomed, reverberating through the swirling sands of the realm. The maroon chakra surged upward, drawing the Genma’s energy toward Koyuki’s body. The beast resisted, its white chakra writhing and clashing with the seals. Yet, the chains held it in place, suppressing its power as it was inexorably pulled into the young girl.

The struggle was fierce, but the Genma’s will eventually faltered. Its brilliant white energy was consumed by the swirling fuuin, which receded back into Koyuki’s body, leaving behind a black, tattoo-like seal etched into her skin—a silent mark of the power now resting within her.

Kiiro staggered back, his energy spent. He looked at the girl, his heart heavy yet hopeful. She was now the host of a power that could either restore Suna’s honor or bring its ruin. Only time would tell.

[Sealing]Blessings and Curses

Even with her eyes closed based on the sounds around her Koyuki could tell that the moment had come, she would soon be host to a power she had only heard about it and never actually seen in action. Warily she opened one eye to find a desert, the area flooded with varying types of chakra emanating from her mother and Kiiro, as well as a giant of a man. They all seemed to be working together to contain the beast, possibly to help seal it as well.

She couldn't help but widen her eyes in a panic as the surge of chakra came flying towards her. And yet despite her better judgment she dared not move, instead clenching her teeth as she braced herself for impact. "I can do this... I had to have been chosen for a reason." she muttered to herself, putting all her faith in the powers that be in that moment. Whether her own family's gods or Her Light, she was praying to all of the above.

As the chakra made impact she gasped, wincing in pain as it was absorbed into her. It felt like an eternity before it faded, the girl breathing heavily as she felt the Genma's presence in her mind's eye. She could sense it struggling within its makeshift prison... For a moment she lay there in silence, finally relaxing and letting out a sigh as she felt the struggling cease. "I... I think it worked." she spoke, a wave of dizziness and exhaustion hitting her as she attempted to sit up. "I think I need a nap though... I didn't even do anything and I'm feeling like I could sleep like a log."

'It is done. There is nothing more I can do for this young girl...'

Kiiro, the aged monk, exhaled slowly. His frail body trembled, burdened by the exhaustion of the sealing ritual. Sweat dripped from his wrinkled brow, his breath shallow and uneven. The technique had drained nearly all of his chakra, pushing his aging body to its limits. And yet, the true test would not be his own endurance but that of the girl lying before him.

Koyuki.

Though weakened from the ritual, she now carried within her a power that could shape her destiny—if she had the strength to wield it. The Genma’s immense presence pulsed faintly within her, a slumbering force that would either become her greatest ally or her worst enemy. That choice, however, would not be Kiiro’s to make. It would be hers alone.

The old monk’s bright yellow eyes remained closed for a moment, as if savoring the brief stillness before he faced the weight of reality once more. When he finally opened them, his gaze met that of his son.

Youkai stood beside him—a stark contrast to his father’s fragile frame. He was a towering colossus of a man, his thick muscles and broad shoulders making him appear nearly twice Kiiro’s size. Yet, despite his imposing stature, exhaustion dulled his sharp features. Like his father, he had sacrificed a significant portion of his chakra for the ritual. Even now, the fatigue clung to him, though his expression remained unreadable.

His dark eyes flickered toward Koyuki, studying the newly anointed host with a contemplative look. This one girl… Could she truly become the force they needed in the rebellion against Iwa? Or had they merely created another tragedy in the making?

With a quiet exhale, Youkai formed a series of hand seals. Moving behind his father, he prepared to perform a technique that few outside his mother’s bloodline had ever witnessed. His massive form shimmered, his chakra pulsing in controlled waves as he stepped forward—then merged into Kiiro’s body.

For a moment, it was an impossible sight: the towering giant folding seamlessly into the frail monk, vanishing without a trace. When the process was complete, Kiiro barely seemed any different, save for the brief flicker of energy that settled within him. His shoulders straightened ever so slightly, his steps becoming steadier, if only by a fraction.

With renewed composure, Kiiro turned his weary gaze toward Koyuki’s mother and gave a silent nod. Then, without another word, he lifted his fingers into a single hand seal.

At once, the massive spectral beasts floating in the artificial desert realm began to dissipate. The endless expanse of golden sands and the scorching wind vanished, swallowed by a swirling cloud of chakra smoke. The illusion shattered.

When the haze cleared, reality returned.

The dark, cavernous chamber reemerged, its damp air thick with an eerie silence. Shadows clung to the uneven stone walls, flickering under the dim torchlight. The shift from the vast desert to the confined underground space was jarring, as if the room itself had tightened around them.

A foreboding stillness hung in the air, a quiet whisper of what lay ahead for Koyuki. The sealing was complete, but the battle for control had only just begun.

Kiiro slowly placed his hands behind his back, straightening despite the weight pressing upon him. His part in this was finished. He turned without a word, his sandaled feet barely making a sound against the ancient stone as he began to walk away. But he did not take the path they had come from. Instead, he chose another—a dark, narrow passageway leading deeper into the cavern.

His work here was done.

From the opposite side of the chamber, another passage opened—this one leading back toward the city. It was an unspoken instruction, a silent farewell. The path had been set for Koyuki and her mother. Their journey, their struggle, would now be theirs alone.

As Kiiro disappeared into the shadows, his voice did not linger, nor did he offer any parting words. But within his heart, one thought remained:

'We have no fate but what we make.'
