"Crazy bastard!" Hatsuyuki cursed under his breath as the massive saber blade cleaved through the icy dome with raw, terrifying power. He barely managed to sidestep the attack, his body moving with fluid grace as the blade descended, shattering the dome's structural integrity. The roar of the storm was momentarily drowned out by the thunderous crack of the massive blade meeting ice, wood, and stone, splitting the dome clean in half. The force sent shockwaves through the building, causing the walls to tremble and the floor beneath his feet to shudder ominously. Frowning, Hatsuyuki regained his footing, his eyes narrowing at the sight of the man wielding such a massive saber. The red qi that surrounded the blade radiated a destructive aura, and the sheer size and power behind the attack were unlike anything he had anticipated. Even as the remains of his dome crumbled around him, ice and snow swirling in chaotic fragments, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of annoyance. The man’s strength was undeniable—his sheer willpower enough to push back the freezing vortex Hatsuyuki had summoned.
Still, the samurai's reckless attack had destabilized the building, causing cracks to form in the walls and ceiling as debris began to rain down. The structure groaned under the strain, the force of the blade's impact threatening to bring the entire place down around them. Hatsuyuki could feel the vibrations beneath his feet, the floorboards creaking as dust and plaster began to fall from above.
'He's going to tear the whole place apart,' Hatsuyuki thought grimly, his mind racing. His control over the battlefield had been momentarily shattered, but he wasn’t out of options yet. With a sharp inhale, Hatsuyuki refocused his chakra, his hand gripping the hilt of his katana tightly. The icy winds from his earlier technique still lingered in the air, swirling around the room like a ghostly presence. As the snowstorm remnants began to die down, he used the cold air to his advantage, quickly channeling it through his blade. Frost began to creep along the edge of his katana, the temperature around him dropping once more as he prepared for his next move.
He couldn’t afford to let the samurai continue his reckless onslaught unchecked. If the building collapsed, it would be near impossible to fight effectively in the debris. The man’s raw strength was impressive, but Hatsuyuki knew that brute force alone wouldn’t be enough to finish him. As the last of the ice dome crumbled away, Hatsuyuki took a quick step to the side, repositioning himself once more. He stayed low, blending into the swirling mist and snow that still clung to the air. His breath came out in steady, controlled exhales as he locked eyes on his opponent. The man might have had strength, but Hatsuyuki still had speed and finesse on his side. In the back of his mind, he noted the unconscious bodies of the man’s comrades, already succumbing to the frigid cold from his earlier attack. But that was of little concern now. His primary focus was the samurai who, despite the brutal conditions, was still standing strong, his qi-infused saber ready for another attack. Hatsuyuki tightened his grip on his katana, his expression hardening.
"If you're so eager to die, I'll oblige," he muttered to himself as he began to channel his chakra once more, preparing to retaliate before the man could unleash another devastating strike.
Hatsuyuki’s breath steadied as the storm of cold energy whirled around him, the remnants of his shattered dome still lingering in the air. He had no time for frustration, only action. The enemy's overwhelming strength demanded precision, not brute force, and this was where Hatsuyuki excelled. With a sharp stomp on the ground, a pulse of icy chakra spread outwards from him, infiltrating the floorboards within a 10-meter radius. The chakra, now filling the area, primed the ground with the potential for devastating spikes of ice. Quiet, invisible, the trap lay beneath the surface, ready to erupt on command. In the same breath, Hatsuyuki's hand tightened around his katana. Frost formed along the blade’s edge as his chakra surged through it, the air around the weapon growing colder. With one fluid motion, he swung the katana, releasing a shimmering crescent of ice, the Glacial Slash. The projectile tore through the air, swift and silent, a deadly arc of cold energy poised to strike with the full force of his control.
His eyes remained locked on the path ahead, his mind sharp as he performed a quick seal. The moment the hand seal was complete, Hatsuyuki whispered,
"Kai," triggering the frozen chakra beneath the floor. In an instant, sharp, crystalline spikes burst from the ground, shooting upwards with incredible speed and strength. The icy spikes erupted in a wide circle around him, filling the space with jagged ice that mirrored the frigid chaos of the ongoing snowstorm. Hatsuyuki stood firm, his cold gaze unwavering as both his Glacial Slash and Glacial Spikes raced toward their target areas. His chakra pulsed steadily, a calm storm amidst the chaos he had unleashed.
Hyouton - Glacial Spikes
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After forming the required hand seals, the user stomps on the ground in order to send a wave of their Hyouton chakra outwards in a circle. This chakra fills the ground 10m around the user, and, within the next 4 posts, the user is able to cause spikes of ice to erupt from the ground with a speed and strength of [Control] by performing Kai.
Hyouton - Glacial Slash
D-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: Suiton Concentration
By channeling their Hyouton chakra into sword, the user is able to create a crescent shaped projectile blade when the sword is swung. The projectile is three long, and four inches at it's widest point, and tapers off towards the ends of the crescent shape. The blade moves with a [Speed] and [Strength] equal to the user's [Control]. These blades can travel up to [Control] meters before breaking apart.
