The lake was calm and scattered would be additional bodies, similar to the ones found previously. There was an eerie lack of noise around the lake as the wind fluttered across the water. It was as though not even the bravest of animals dared to make their way to the water or anywhere near the lake for that matter.
It would be a matter of decision for the group of Ninja what steps they wanted to take before they headed to the lake. It would be wise to get all of the information they could from Amaya before heading to the lake. The four Shinobi had no idea what they were in for.

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
Ah, this dreadful forest that had given the Shoshiki nightmares for the last couple of nights. This time the chuunin came prepared, she had brought with her a coat with a hoodie to keep her warm. On her back she had with her a back pack filled with torches and lighters. She didn't want to relieve the past event where she had to create makeshift torches that barely helped her at all. By her side was three more chuunins, they had been assigned to this mission to take down whatever had been causing the death. Hopefully this time she would be able to see what it was and then ultimately stop it.
Amaya slowed down to a full stop once she landed a couple of yards away from the lake. It was around here that the emp field would start, she turned to face her allies before informing them. "Okay. . From here on out we are pretty much on our own. Last time i was here i noticed that my ninjutsu didn't work. . I didn't really try that high ranked jutsu. Only performed some low ranked ones but they had no effect. Meaning that there's something out there that is jamming our jutsu" Amaya crossed her arms as she continued. "Now, i haven't seen the monster personally but from what i can tell its pretty strong as it had nailed some of its target up on a mountain wall. Ehm. . what else. . There is a cavern not far from here, that's where my search ended. Inside that cavern i found 20 something bodies so i think our best bet would be to search from that cavern outwards. . "
She stopped crossing her arms as she scratched the back of her head, she wanted them to take in the information and then if they wanted to pitch in some ideas this would be the time. "Any questions?" She tried to sound as professional as possible but with the lack of information the ninja had it would be pretty hard for her to sound certain. Last time the chuunin was scared shitless, being alone in a dark forest far from civilization. It wasn't a place a Shoshiki wanted to spend their time alone. The chuunin shrugged as she prepared to turn around and face the lake. It was about to begin.

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
A B-rank mission! That was exciting! The massive man had been briefed as best as he could. They didn't know much, except that whatever they were hunting lived in slime, hunted people, and didn't care what people looked like--this beast loved them for their brains.
Either way, Ishi was prepared. And wary, for that matter. He'd met the Shoshiki girl once before, and she seemed nice enough, but he was acutely aware that the girl had been an nukenin. He wasn't one hundred percent sure he could trust her to watch his back, and had even had the thought in his head that the mission may have been more about keeping an eye on the girl than it was about working together to win--though that would certainly happen at some point.
He'd worked with Jinseie before, too. He had nothing but respect for the powerful man, remembering the way he'd saved Ishi's ass on his last mission as a genin. He was excited to work with Jinseie again, to show him just how much he had grown.
The Ayatori girl, however, he didn't know at all. He knew she was a very, very good-looking girl, but flirting was the last thing on his mind. He'd been entrusted with something by the village. He would be this team's shield.
He was quiet, not speaking at all as he wandered with his team. The bodies laying around them were surprising, gruesome sights, but they should things almost as bad in academy slideshows to desensitize kids to that sort of thing. He had no questions, but was concerned about his worth if he couldn't use ninjutsu. He was strong, and that would help, but what kind of shield could he be without his plating?
He'd be useful. He'd find a way.

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
If there was one thing Jinseie Zoukane was specifically well suited, something his entire life had molded and sculpted him for up to this moment, something that he just plain did without needing training, mentoring or some kind of special skill passed down to him from his father's father's father, it was this; He killed intimidating and murderous things incredibly well, and that was why he'd been selected for this mission. It had nothing to do with his talents at medical techniques in case something went wrong, it had nothing to do with his amazing selection of techniques for multiple situations, it had nothing to do with his mentality towards Iwagakure.
Jinseie just killed monsters incredibly well.
The group gathered near the lake, the forest around them providing a natural barrier between the outside world and them that would do little to draw in help if something went wrong, death incredibly likely if this beast was as tough as the mission request had pegged it; A semi-successful recon of the area had done little to find the creature, but had identified it's traits and handiwork enough to draw the attention of Iwagakure proper. That was why this particular group had been roped together, each one representing different facets of skills to handle the monster with Amaya in the unofficial leadership position with her knowledge.
One of the best people Jinseie had met in his life was a nuke-nin. Amaya's status as a former did nothing to dilute Jinseie's professionalism and Ishi had once proven himself more than capable in Jinseie's eyes, but the surprising part of this was Amarante Ayatori's inclusion on the mission, though from what he understood the woman could handle herself well and the team was lucky to have her. All of their skills would come in handy in some way. Once they'd arrived at the lake Jinseie had immediately taken the role of the rear guard, stepping behind the group carefully and keeping his hand on the wakizashi at his waist, though he split off soon after they got to standing room when Amaya started speaking.
He carefully stepped over to the nearest body and drew his wakizashi, ignoring the spectacular gore and the absence of even flies or maggots in the corpses, a troubling thought, to use the tip of his wakizashi to look over the ground. As he did this he turned his head for a moment to Amaya, nodding at her warning of being unable to use ninjutsu and he found himself troubled by that for a moment, but only a moment before he spoke "Then we need to make sure we stick close, right? Without jutsu we'll be at a disadvantage if we get caught alone...I don't have anything to signal, and I don't know if anyone else does." he said, carefully giving a look into the tree-line around them, before turning back to the ground. He was looking for tracks; Blood, feet, depressions that might indicate size, anything at all.

Quiet nervous energy. That was the best way to describe the young woman who followed behind quietly walking just far enough ahead of Jinseie not to get into his way; this was her first official meeting after becoming a jinchuuriki so she was more nervous than she should have been.. He was the only one from the group she actually knew in any real definition, he worked with the stone masons when they put in a new wing to the Ayatori compound. He had also grabbed her hips and nearly kissed her, accident mind you, but he had certainly left an impression on her. She only knew the Shoshiki from some side talk about how she was once a nuke-nin but had come back to the village, the knowledge made her a little wary but if she'd been more uncomfortable she wouldn't have agreed to be included in the mission at all. The second young man she knew nothing about at all, only his name.
She had her bow drawn from her quiver holding it with one hand along with an arrow so she didn't have to waste the time grabbing out should they have encountered any trouble on the way there; whatever they were hunted seemed to have scared much of the wildlife as they didn't encounter anything bigger than a bird. The sight of the bodies had her wrinkling her nose briefly but there was a thankful little murmur in her mind that they didn't seem to be burned. She didn't do well with fire.
While she listened to Amaya speak she looked around at the scenery trying to find anything of note that stood out, aside from all the corpses. The lack of ninjutsu didn't bother too much... with her bow she was still well on her way of staying long-ranged support without having to change much.

((So I don't know why I made you guys wait for me to post as...I don't really have anything to post. Whoops, sorry <3))
The lake remained calm even as the four gathered around it. Save for the dead bodies scattering the lake they appeared to be the only living souls around. The cavern/cave was quiet except for the rhythmic sound of water dropping from the ceiling. Minutes later a sharp sudden sound would radiate from the cavern walls and out to the ninja. Other than that, the entire area was quiet, waiting for the ninja to make the first move.

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
Amaya uncrossed her arms as she saw one of her comrades walk up to the first corpse, this was to be the first of many but that didn't mean that they could take it lightly, sure he was right that they shouldn't split up but for them to actually have a chance they had to deactivate whatever was causing this emp field or else they where forced to fight whatever it was that had caused all of these deaths with their bare hands and that was a no go as from the looks of it they had at least tried to defend themselves and none of them had succeeded. The chuunin sighed visible before she looked at her comrades.
One was a Sabeki like Katashi but younger and a weebit smaller, the other was a well known ninja through out Iwagakure so she knew that at least those two could hold their own and lastly a Ayatori like Kotori but older, she knew next to nothing about her but her wings should be able to give them some aerial vision, the chuunin sighed once again before continuing. "Yes, we shouldn't really split up. But since we don't know what it is and only know what it's capable of them we should try to figure out how it cancels out our ninjutsu and what the hell it is"
Amaya nodded before looking at Jinsei first. "You take the back and cover us while- " Amaya then turned to face Ishi. "Ishi takes the front, i will try to lead us to the cave as safe as possible while lastly" The Shoshiki looked at the Ayatori before pointing towards the sky. "You take the skies, i would've flown with you but i can't for now. . Now . Ahem. . Is anyone here a sensor? If so can you please try to sense if there is some disturbance in the area" If none of them could actually sense then she would just turn and start to move towards the cave, hopefully no one would disagree so they could get the search started. "Let's go!"

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
Ishi took point as was asked of him. It's what shields were good for. He knew without his armor he'd be vulnerable, so he decided to attempt using a jutsu, just to see. This is one he'd be able to perform while walking, without the use of hand seals, so there would be no need to alarm his comrades--and if it worked, Ishi would also get some added protection, too. Simply by holding his hand to his stomach and channeling chakra, Ishi would place a cover of chakra around his body, assuming he'd be able to. If it didn't work, Ishi's body was still dense enough that he may serve as a suitable shield, but it would certainly change the way he shielded his team.
He'd know right away if the jutsu worked or not, of course, just by being aware of his own chakra. He didn't need to be a Sensor to feel his own and see if it was effective.
Protection for Comrades
B-ranked Hijutsu
By placing his hand over the body of a comrade and channeling chakra over them for half a post, Ishi is able to create a thin layer of chakra over a comrade's body, imbued with the special energy-absorbing properties of Sakebi clan's Hijutsu. The comrade in question is then protected by a thin "shield" that will move with them, absorbing the kinetic energy from enemy attacks. The kinetic shield will last on a comrade's body for five posts.

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
Lacking any obvious tracks or trail to follow, Jinseie stood up as Amaya handed out marching orders; Ishiki was the vanguard, Amaya the guide, Amarante was the aerial support and he himself had been marked as the rear guard, which made sense in theory but did little to ease the feeling Jinseie had as he stepped back towards the group, tucking his wakizashi back into his waist and reaching behind himself to loosen his hammer, drawing it out to his side and gripping it tightly. He had no doubt that whatever they'd be facing would respond better to impact than edges weapons, given how it had dismembered it's victims...Jinseie had seen that very rarely even in extremely powerful creatures. That meant it had to have powerful claws and a durable body of some kind, which meant; Hammer time.
The sound was what made him react and with a turn of his head Jinseie tried to resist the skin-crawling feeling of nails dragging over chalkboard he was starting to have, the little twinge in his head that reacted to frequencies and pitches at that level that put his adrenaline into a small boost as he pivoted on his foot, walking towards the back of the line-up they'd formed and twisting his hammer a bit, quietly extending the shaft to around a foot before locking it back into place and wordlessly nodding to Amaya, ready to take up position.

She remained almost wholly silent throughout the entire engagement, her eye looking around as she surveyed the area as Amaya went through her head on what they should be doing. Amarante was never one to really 'take the lead' in much of anything, she preferred to stay out of the spotlights entirely and only really add in her opinions when it was necessary. Her father once told her he thought the behavior derived from sort of confidence issue she had and hid from everyone, who could really tell? It took time enough to get her to open up to Jinseie and even now it was still a little awkward between them at times. But none of that mattered much out here, just the mission and completing it. Amaya had more knowledge on whatever this was than the rest of them put together, it was the most natural she have point in terms of handing out objectives.
Aerial support. The role didn't surprise her at all, it was what came natural after all, she nodded to Amaya to let the young woman know she acknowledged but didn't say anything for a small window of time. Reaching behind her she gave her quiver a soft tug to make sure it was secure and rolling her shoulders a little to get her muscles to loosen from the tense atmosphere of the surrounding. It wasn't until she was about to take off that she finally spoke. "I'm a sensor. If you need to get my attention just whistle... or bird call... either or should be enough and I'll come back down."
Her wings gave an experimental flutter to loosen before flight and Amarante kicked off the ground hard in a light jump before her wings beat again, catching her weight and sending her fluttering up a few more feet until soon she was halfway in the air and shifting her wings more as they beat. When she'd reaches a safe height she leaned forward and tilted her wings softly, their feathers ruffling as the air slipped past them and she took into more of a glide now, moving from where the group had been standing to start circling the lake at a light clip designed to keep her airborne, but not put her too out of pace of the group.
As she did this she also put her hands together and began to focus on the area around her, her chakra starting to spread out from her in a good radius and latch onto chakra sources nearby, her mind's eye sensory attempting to find even the slightest hint of any chakra aside from the ones she felt from her group.

~Deft Flight
D-Rank Taijutsu
Prerequisites: Average Taijutsu, Power Flight not taken
Utilizing their muscle control and their graceful wings an Ayatori can turn their wings towards distant, controlled gliding instead of flight. Once an Ayatori enters the air using this technique they are able to spread their wings and tilt, control or otherwise move them to gain the most loft for the least energy allowing them to remain airborne for a post count equal to (stamina+tai/2) and moving at full speed throughout. This allows them to glide great distances without wasting energy.
*[Beyond Senses]
C-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: Ninjutsu/Control/Wit stats of 5
This sensor jutsu is used by shinobi to feel chakra sources within a radius of 25 yards. While this jutsu is fairly helpful in sensing chakra, it is unable to actually pinpoint specific chakras outside of 10 feet. This only gives the Shinobi an idea of how many entities with chakra are present in their general area. There is no set range, but generally, with greater Ninjutsu and Control abilities, a ninja can see further and further out. The maximum range for this technique is 30 yards for those with average required stats of higher than 6.

Amarante would be able to fly high into the sky though she would find that her sensory would not work, her chakra disrupting itself as she tried to focus it into her technique. Ishi would find that the same happened to him as he attempted to focus his chakra. It was a shame, that their techniques didn't work. It seemed that they were going to have to get creative this time around.
As the group entered the cave, it would be very similar to the way Amaya would remember it. The walls though, were covered in a thick slime coating, slightly sticky in nature though slick enough to have trouble grasping onto any surface it coated. The floor had patches of it as well as the walls. It was an odd substance, once they should examine and get used to as much as possible. Other than the dripping of water and the dead bodies strewn across the floor, the cave was empty. It seemed that for the time being, they were going to be left alone to explore and maybe find some information that would help them.

It seemed that for the time being, they were going to be left alone to explore and maybe find some information that would help them.

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
Group A, which consisted of Amaya, Ishi and Jinsei would soon enter the familiar cave. The cave that had haunted her nightmares and now while it was still clear the Shoshiki could see that the disgusting ooze she had touched in the dark was something so foul that she could barely keep her food in her stomach. "Ishi. .Stay guard. . You are now part of Group B. Go to the entrance, keep an eye on the flying Ayatori and warn us. . hrnn. . Warn us if you see something happening to the Ayatori or if you spot anything" Amaya struggled to keep her calm and her mind focused at the job at hand but it was still demanding. She was going to split the group into two again, this time she wanted to use Jinsei to back her up. They needed to find any clues which could help them complete this mission faster, they had to gather some information and fortunately for them it seemed like the cave was pretty much empty.
"Jinsei, you are coming with me. . We are going to perform a quick investigation to gather more information, we are lucky though. . It could've been dark like last time i was here. . Do yourself a favor and don't touch . . Whatever that is" Amaya smiled as she then shook her head, this place creeped her out but she was her on a mission and that meant that she had to get it together. With a quick skip the chuunin had jumped over the disgusting water she was forced to swim, well last time she couldn't see to the other side but this time it would be completed without any hiccups. Once they would have reached her last checkpoint the chuunin would start investigating the cave, hopefully everything would work out smoothly.

Ishi nodded at the instructions, less than pleased to take orders from a former nukenin but not altogether unwilling to obey them. Amaya had been here before, so she would have known what to do better than anybody else in the group. He wasn't able to use his jutsu after all, and he was nervous about the Ayatori girl leaving where he could protect her, but he'd keep a wary eye out all the same, standing at the entrance and allowing Amaya and Jinseie to move on. Zoukane was powerful enough to deal with the glass girl if he had to, and the village had decided Amaya was worth trusting besides, so Ishi accepted his assignment and would stand guard at the entrance, eyes firmly on the Ayatori girl and her surroundings.

Amaya's made sense to Jinseie as he heard them, nodding at her as she spoke about investigating the cave and though his stomach was a bit more resilient than hers he did feel a small gag catch his throat as the smell hit him when they entered the cave proper. A quick glance to Ishi meant to make sure he was fine and then a second glance out the cave mouth, his feelings a bit mixed on leaving Amarante in the sky by herself with all of this going on...He was almost positive she was going to get attacked but without deliberately antagonizing Amaya by ignoring her and leaving her vulnerable he couldn't do much more than hope his gut was wrong.
Inside the cave, as he turned back to Amaya and began to follow her lead, Jinseie immediately grasped the hilt of his wakizashi and kept his senses open as he continued in deeper, realizing that in a cramped space like this he wouldn't have much use for his hammer...And if the indication of the file was any help, no use for his earth techniques. The feeling of not knowing how effective he could be without utilizing those techniques, that made him uneasy, because Doton was one of his primary strengths...Being trapped somewhere below the surface without it was rising feelings in him of paranoia.
When Amaya leaped over the ooze-like substance Jinseie had swiftly followed, but nearly lost his footing on the other side from a stray puddle of ooze; If he hadn't slammed his wakizashi into the wall of the cavern he'd have slipped into the puddle and now he was trying to force himself to steady, keeping the wakizashi on the wall in case he slipped again.

Amarante frowned as even her sensory was disrupted by whatever this... thing seemed to be; which made her eyes the only point of sight she'll be relying on at the current time. Not that she liked being without her other sight, in fact she rather hated it; she didn't like the absence of something, except for perhaps the absence of fire... she could live without fire.
The air around her seemed relatively calm, only the steady beating of her wings could be heard so far. She began to turn in a slow circle, noting the absence of both Jinseie and Amaya, only spotting the Ishi fellow on the ground... more absence. Bringing a softly sinking feeling to her gut, like she wanted them to come back but forced herself to stay calm and in-flight until she needed to land. She continued to keep herself focused to her task of aerial surveillance until she was called upon or she was needed.

I have been asked to step in and take over this thread as mod. While I don't know the original mod's plans, I've had a few ideas just by reading through what you've done so far. If you have any questions or have any other information, please PM me. In the mean time, I'll try to keep you all moving forward with this mission.
Within the cave itself, a light scuffling could be heard. A puddle of ooze at Jinseie's moving as a pair of eyes blinked open, staring up at him and a serpent's tongue flicked out, the animal hiding in the ooze obviously taking in the man's scent.

Amaya continued to travel further in the cave, she could feel the hair rising to attention, as she felt that they couldn't be in an unsafe situation. She had been here before, scared and freezing so she didn't really get the best look, but she could still remember the coordinates. "We should be careful, who knows what's up ahead." Amaya took a look back at the entrance before continuing. She knew that she had to be quiet but and keep an eye out.
Truthfully the only thing she could do at the moment was sew him up if she forced to, otherwise without ninjutsu this ninjas was bare minimum, or at least above average human, smarter thought and of course, a ninjutsu master. She sighed as she started thinking about what could actually be causing this "CMP", was it the reason so many people have died? The didn't know and then where attacked, what a pity. At least they had some info, although what would it help if they couldn't stop whatever was causing this. She walked a couple of steps behind Jinsei as she knew that it would probably be better if she acted as support in this situation rather than be a burden.

Ishi pretty much kept chilling and watching warily. Kept up his guard and whatnot.

Though Jinseie couldn't see the creature in the water or figure out it was there at the immediate moment, he was hyper-vigilant in this cave and with it's reputation; He was called in to keep everyone safe and that entailed a certain amount of being reasonably paranoid which is why he avoided stepping directly in anything right now and with that in mind he deliberately stopped just a few inches from the edge of the puddle and held his ground before kneeling down to look deeper into the cave, frowning. Normally he'd use his ninjutsu to alter the cave, make a distraction, somehow test the water...Anything.
"I'm really not liking this. The deeper we get, the more puddles I see..."

The Ayatori continued turning slow circles in the air, keeping herself from spinning fast enough to keep a good scout going but not enough to start making her dizzy. Her pinky finger strummed on the string of her bow as a nervous habit, the sinking feeling in her gut not quite gone away just yet. Every other rotation or so she'd look back to the ground to spot Ishi and make sure he was still standing and there.

Within the cave there was suddenly the sound of scampering mixed with the sound of water and little splashes. The pair of eyes had suddenly come from the puddle and scampered into full view and right onto Jinseie's foot. It didn't attack in anyway, the dark blue lizard looking thing just stared up at him. But something about the little guy's presence didn't feel right.
Meanwhile, outside and in the lake, the water stirred once more, a rumbling could be both heard and felt under Ishi's feet, and the Ayatori would certainly see the circular pattern on the water caused by something within moving. After a moment, here too a pair of eyes appeared, the rest of the body submerged, but the eyes watched the Ayatori carefully.
Deeper within the cave, ahead of Amaya, a pair of yellow eyes suddenly blinked in the darkness, a raspy breathing of an animalistic sort was heard from that same direction.
Even near Ishi, stepping out from behind the tree was what appeared to be a very large lizard, but standing on it's back legs almost human in fashion, snarling under it's breath.
Were all of these a warning? Or a live threat?

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
The darkness was starting to get the chuunin, she not only started to fear for herself but also for her comrades. Was this really the best course they could take? What if they where split up even further? Would they really be able to handle what's out there? She was starting to doubt herself, something she wasn't really used to. Although it might have to do with the fact that she couldn't use any of her ninjutsu meaning that she would have to improvise and she's not only responsible for her low status life. She had to think about the famous Jinsei as well. . As her name didn't already mean little enough. She sighed before she shook back to life as she saw a small lizard crawl up to Jinsei.
"Yeah and not only that, you are my main offense guy. . As i can barely do shit at the moment. . " She sighed, responding back to Jinsei before realizing that she saw something deep within the shadows the light couldn't reach. It was so much a torch could do. She opened her medpack and took out her poison, she was preparing to arm herself. She figured that it would be better if Jinsei had it than she as he was obviously more combat compatible.
"Drink that when you feel that you need a bit of an adrenaline boost. I've created that myself and figured you would be a safer bet. . It's not only life in stake. . Sadly" She didn't know what that meant but looked away from Jinsei nonetheless. She threw the torch towards deeper into the cave to lighten up the way, hoping that she would hit a dry spot as she had aimed for it.
Amaya opened her front pouch and grabbed six glass shards, three on each hand. She figured that she could at least back him up, she wasn't half bad at throwing objects. She just lacked the strength. "From here on out you lead the way" Amaya nodded before preparing herself for the worst. It had been quiet for to long. . Way to long.

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
Ishi hadn't noticed the thing int he water, but the large, bipedal lizard didn't escape his notice. Ishi reached into his pouch, pulling out a pair of kunai. He plucked the tags off them and stuck them back in the pouch: without the ability to use his chakra, they'd just get in the way. He gripped the handles in closed fists so the points jutted out from the sides, facing away from each other.
"Ayatori!" Ishi called out to his comrade in the sky to alert her, his voice, when raised, sounding like crushing gravel. "You seeing this?"

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
Looking down at his sandal as the creature scurried out of the water, Jinseie found himself slowly frowning as he stared down with an expression bordering on, well, dismay and as Amaya started talking to him, he reached out and gently made a motion for her to quiet down with his hand, a finger catching what she'd offered and tucking it into his pouch for safe keeping, even as he continued staring down at the creature on his foot. Memories came back slowly and surely of an innocent enough seeming creature and a feeling of oddity in the air, one that was matching the feel here and now.
Once upon a time, Jinseie had killed a unicorn. He had gotten over it and now he had come to be suspicious of nearly all creatures, cute or small, weak or benign.
Deftly Jinseie snapped out his free hand to pick up the lizard by the neck just hard enough to stun it and lift it up to his eye level but away from his face, turning it to the side a bit and gently using his pinky finger to stroke it's back. "So this is the little guy I've felt staring at me. I want to say he looks harmless...But have you noticed something? No spiders, no insects, no nothing for him to eat but meat. So either he's not from around here, or we're about to be in trouble."

Upon one of her turning circles she suddenly caught movement from the corner of her eye, her fingers tightening on the bow's string as her circling all but stopped abruptly. She saw the eyes staring at her from the water, her gaze tracing the dark shadow under the water. The tension was there, the string was taut in her hands all she would have to do was draw the string and fire her arrow. That was her gut talking, her head told her wounding whatever that was without knowledge of it, half the team MIA in a cave, wasn't the smartest move. Especially when she figured she might, might be able to blind only one of the eyes and not both. The risk was a little high for the shot, all things considered.
Ishi shouting up to her had her drifting a little closer to the ground, only sparing a moment to look away from the lake to the ground scout and what it was about. "I think we have a bigger worry, any way you can get the attention of our little spelunkers? Don't want to be an alarmist, but I see something in the lake," she said, half shouted really, only really loud enough to get the point across and keep her voice from traveling too far around the area.

Let me make this abundantly clear, and please realize I'm not pissed but I am agitated. I consider this mission as having no clear time limits because we have slow posters and people who are very very busy in this mission. Also please realize I'm having to plan out responses for four situations every time I make one post.
If I get harassed again the moment I come in the cbox I'll either hand this off or remove the offender from the mission. It's that simple. I will reply to this with a post in the next day or two once I've figured out all four scenario/responses. Thank you.

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
It seemed Amaya wasn't going to get the chance to be a mere backup. There was a snarl and the eyes suddenly lunged at the girl. Into the light came a beast made only of nightmare and unrealistic fear. It was a great lizard-like creature with emerald scales and talons at least three inches in length. Yet it stood on its hind legs in a humanoid fashion. It's hand reached out to grasp at Amaya's shoulders, talons aimed to dig into flesh and hold her in place as poison laced teeth when for her throat. It moved at a speed of 4 and Amaya would have to react quickly.
In the mean time the cute little guy in Jinseie's hand seemed to be almost harmless and cute as it cooed and almost purred in response to its back being stroked. And naturally, all of Jinseie's observations seemed to be correct, especially that last line. The little guy suddenly let loose and spit in Jinseie's face, a natural venom that acted as a burning poison. It was only the equivalent of a B rank and an irritant, but it was sure to piss the shinobi off and distract him for the moment his partner was being attacked.
The creature now advancing on Ishi was very similar to the one advancing on Amaya. Only this one had ruby scales and it's bright yellow eyes were fixed on Ishi, a low hiss under its breath almost in anticipation of what it obviously hoped would be a tasty meal. It snarled at the moves Ishi made and seemed to be gauging the threat the shinobi made against him, before lunging at him with arms and talons reaching for Ishi's shoulders, and jagged teeth for his neck, a similar attack to the one against Amaya. It would be up to Ishi to react in time. (Creature moves at same speed, 4)
It was the Ayatori however who had need for the greatest worry. A great head of cerulean scales lifted from the water as the very earth shook and the air itself rumbled with the creatures roar. Perhaps it was the mother of the other critters nearby, it's great jaws going to try and bite into the Ayatori's leg. However she had one clear advantage, given its size the beast moved only at a speed of 3.
Every member in clear danger, each occupied with their own obstacle, not a single one would be likely to notice a shadow on the opposite side of the lake from Ishi, a cloak over his shoulders and hood over his head as he watched in silence.

Well what do you know, there where something deep in the cave and the shouting from outside didn't do anything to help the chuunin stay focused. She knew that she had to act fast and act fast she did. With her right hand the chuunin threw the three glass shards, while taking a minor leap backwards. She could see that this, creature, Was clearly after her. What the hell? See the thing about bipedal creatures was that they had one weakness, the knees. Amaya aimed to kick the fiend in the knee as she did her best to dodge his talon but couldn't dodge the bite. Luckily it had missed it's intended destination and instead bit her on her arm.
Amaya let out a scream before trying to punch the monster in the face with her left hand, she still had the three remaining shards at hand and aimed to blind the monster so she could retaliate after it released her. This. . . Is bad! There's something in this thing saliva She could feel that there was something wrong but she couldn't tell what it was, at least not at this very moment. All she knew was that no matter what happen they had to kick this thing's ass and move on, all she could hope for was that the others where okay.

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
The lizard closed in, and Ishi braced himself for Impact. His arms tucked in close in front of his chest, and when the lizard reached out, and his teeth came in, Ishi jabbed straight out, aiming for the creature's throat. If successful, he'd follow up the left jab with a right one. With the kunai, he had a few inches of wiggle room to work with, so a miss wouldn't be awful if it were narrow. Even if it veered off, he could swipe his first to the side in a hammer arm that would impale the enemy on the blade of the knife.

Jinseie could only do so much to prevent himself from being spat at, the creature's attack a complete surprise to Jinseie and he had just enough time to swipe the thing away from him but the venom sprayed wide and the creature hadn't been far enough away to 'dodge' by most conventional means. When all was said and done, Jinseie was holding the creature off to the side and venom had burst into his left eye, blinding it until it would fade and though Jinseie would survive, the look on his face as he clenched his eye closed was almost expressed by his face.
Fuck cute things.
Then Jinseie clenched his fist on the lizard and with resounding force whirled and slammed the creature into the wall. Even if the thing wriggled away Jinseie's sour mood would only lightly worsen and he would for the time being ignore the creature, instead choosing to rush past it and towards Amaya's location. Even with one eye he was still able to hear her pained cry and panic as the creature bit her and given that the lizard had just spat in his eye, the bigger ones were likely to be just as venomous...
His experience fighting rather nightmarish demons from the pits of Hell was not wasted here and he knew two things; Amaya was stuck and the creature needed to get off her, promptly, but a head blow would make it clamp down and take bits of her with it...He needed a more precise blow. His depth perception and eyesight practically gone in his left eye however made that complicated and as he got close to the lizard he decided to sweep in close. It's neck would be craned to bite into Amaya and if he was fast enough, as he slid over the slightly mossy floor, he'd be in position to smash it's neck and force it to loosen it's grip on her for air, which he prepared to do with his arm cocking back and his fist clenching before he leaped body first towards the creature. His fist smashed towards it's throat, the side of it's wind-pipe, with brutal force.

B-Rank Taijutsu
A destructive and dangerous blow for Jinseie to throw, this technique essentially involves applying full-body momentum to hand strike. By utilizing a 'jolt' movement where Jinseie steps into the blow with his full weight he lessens the connecting impact of his fist or palm, while increasing it's destrutive potential by several degrees essentially sending the blow deep into his opponent's body instead of just surface impact. This causes a full strength blow deep into the object he hits and can be thrown from relatively any position as long as Jinseie can move.

Her gaze moved from the lake to the ground, concerned when she hadn't heard back from her 'partner' on the ground; what she saw almost broke her concentration from the thing in the water, the urge to help Ishi has nearly enough to keep her from see the head lifting out of the water from her peripheral vision. Her eye widened as she saw the creature emerging out of the water towards her but she had the advantage of speed, the thing was so big it wasn't exactly the most agile thing in the world. Her pupil narrowed as she watched it come towards her, the adrenaline pounding in her ears even, her wings almost acting on their own spinning herself off the side and backwards; she was trying to put as much distance between them as was possible.
The tension was pulled on her bow, taking aim... for one of the creatures eyes of course if she could take out one of the eyes it would make this a lot easier, once she was as ready she let loose her arrow.

Amaya
Amaya's kicks would work, knocking the creature back with a loud crack as her foot connected with it's knee and the animal shrieked in response. It would seem the kick had been placed in such a way that the knee was now either broken or dislocated, either way it caused the bite to miss the intended destination and only get her arm. However there was still a natural occurring poison in the beast which could be of concern.
Her punch landed with a shriek from the monster, and she had the opportunity to retaliate as she saw fit, so long as she reacted quickly. The animal released her arm, but the venom was in her blood now, and for now she might begin to feel the first effect of lightheadedness. Not impossible to work through, but it was just a first sampling.
Ishi
If Ishi didn't do more to dodge the talons (strength: 6) they would rip through the cloth of his clothing and into his flesh, fortunately the talons were not poisoned, only their venom presented with the poison. His punch however would land in the creatures throat and though recoiling would likely tear his flesh more, it would stumble back, blood leaking from it's throat. The creatures screamed at Ishi almost as if cursing him, before falling to the ground in a pool of it's own blood.
Jinseie
Though obviously having much fight and courage for it's fight, the little creature was doomed, and Jinseie's reaction would be devastating. It barely had a chance to cry out before it was crushed, it's little body falling lifeless when Jinseie would release it. However it's actions would have a lasting effect. Despite it's small stature, it's venom had the same effect as it's brother, though fortunately for Jinseie since it spat in his eye rather than getting it into a vein the effect would be localized to that eye alone.
However his attack had a devastating effect on the creature attacking Amaya. Already wounded and disoriented, Jinseie's attack was enough to cause the creature to cough up blood and fall. Though not immediately dead, it would be rendered unable to return any other attacks.
Amarante
Of the group, the Ayatori had the greatest opponent whose defeat would not be so easily achieved as it's counterparts. Her arrow would find it's target and the creature, the mother of the rest, roared in a rage, it's great head shaking back and forth. She lunged for what she saw as a flying pest (Speed still only 3) in an attempt to snatch her out of the sky. The mother was angry, her children were wounded or dead, and these pests were in her home, causing her and hers pain.

Venom InformationShow
Lizard's Limelight - The unnamed 'lizards' in this mission all carry this same venom within them. It's a B rank that lasts for five posts, starting after the post in which it was introduced. At introduction the target will feel lightheaded, at first post after introduction the wound will begin to burn, this feeling building with each post until the last (fifth) when it finally tapers off over three 'recovery' posts. The pain of the burning sensation acts similar to a stamina drain of a -3. After the fifth post the drain is 'recovered' at a +1 each recovery post for a total of 3 recovery posts

The kick connected, which was the upside. The downside was that she got bit, retaliating wasn't really helping her now since he was already letting go. Although did give him a quick jab to the neck, the force shattered her glass shards as she felt first effect of the venom. Lightheaded, she could feel her body starting to go a bit limb as she quickly realized that there might be time to suck out the venom. Amaya quickly began sucking out blood out of her wound and spat it, proceeding to do this three times before falling back on behind.
"There's something in there saliva but the problem is that we can't rest here, we should go back and meet the others, then push for it. . ." She wasn't sure whether it was better to just go for it or back down for now. She had no idea what the rest where up to but it would be wiser to form up. At least now they would know what they where going to deal with.
If Jinsei would agree to return she would try her best to study what was going on with their wounds. After all she was their medic, oh what a great one she was. . . She was poisoned first. . . Amaya would let out a mental sigh.

Ishi wasn't quick or skilled enough to catch the creature before it hit him, but he was able to grab its arm and hold it in place as he punched, so the claws wouldn't tear at him or go any deeper as the creature fell back. Instead, Ishi would have the creature by the "arm" in his grasp, and so he would pick it up as it reeled from the punch to the throat and slam it, violently, into the ground, to stun it. Hopefully, he would then be able to stomp on its head to finish it off.
The Ayatori girl was in trouble, too. Whatever was coming after her was moving slow, but it was moving and it was coming for her for sure. Assuming the lizard was properly dispatched, Ishi would turn his attention now to his comrades in the cave."We're under attack from the outside," he shouted, "Some kind of amphibian!" Without the ability to use chakra, they wouldn't be able to walk on the water, and swimming would be a bad idea with that thing there. He lifted a pair of Shuriken from his weaponry pouch and threw it at the beast, in the hope of distracting it. He still had to stand guard at the entrance, but his weapons were thrown hard enough that they--if they hit--should have been able to penetrate.

If Jinseie had expected anything else but venomous spit, he shouldn't have; The adrenaline of combat was enough to wear down the immediate effects of the venom, but the full effect hit him like a sledgehammer as his senses returned to normal and it was like needles coursed through his eye, encircling it and biting into it in the most intense manner he could imagine. He hadn't been in this much pain since he'd been hit by an ogre and that had left him with half his chest broken.
That was why, as Amaya tried to explain what was going on, Jinseie was too busy hissing through his teeth and clenching the afflicted eye closed. "Let's just go. I'm going to be...Very un-useful for a moment." he explained, motioning towards his eye with his free hand and trying not to break out into a cursing fit at just how painful it was, though somehow a rather unhappy expression never left his face.
Following Amaya or leading the way, Jinseie would turn and head towards the exit in a somewhat hurried fashion. Perhaps it was pain, or perhaps it was the thought of Amarante with whatever was outside, unable to use her Chakra....

She flinched as the creature roared, the sound reverberating in the air around her, but the creature couldn't shake her enough to keep from reacting as it lunged again. Luckily its mass kept its speed to where she still had the advantage, beating her wings to give herself more loft, heading upwards as she drew two arrows from her quiver. One went between her teeth, the other was knocked into place as she drew the string back as she tracked the shot. She needed to blind the creature to give them all some semblance of a chance against it; aiming for the brood mother's eye she let loose her shot.
Knowing her flight capabilities were still limited she pulled the arrow out of her mouth before spinning in the air and using the momentum to send her into a speedy glide towards the ground, away from the lake, towards the entrance to the cave where Ishi was fending off lizards from the ground.

Amaya
Amaya's efforts were not completely wasted, delaying the effects of the poison for a short time (one post). However it would not save her entirely from the effects of the Venom. However the lightheadedness that had come with the introduction of the poison would not be lessened since there was still poison in her system, but at least the burning sensations would be a bit delayed.
The great roars of the beast outside would echo into the cave, causing the illusion of the floor vibrating beneath their feet. It was certainly leave Amaya wondering just what was going on with her companions outside the cave.
Jinseie
Within the cave itself all had fallen quiet, and Jinseie, with his companion Amaya, would be able to make his way back to the entrance of the cave, for now unhindered. However surely the sight before the pair would be less than comforting. Though slow moving, the mass alone of the great beast that snapped and snapped at the flying shinobi was enough alone to be more than simply disconcerting. A fight against a creature of that size would surely take the talents of all four shinobi.
And that was just to escape it, what would it take to defeat the beast?
Ishi
Though subduing the beast had certainly been anything but easy for Ishi, his blows now staggered and stunned the creature, leaving it open to the finishing blow. It seemed that those smaller than the great monster had only so much they could take and were unable to take damage from repeated blows, their bodies, though appearing armored, were as soft and fleshy as the shinobi themselves.
Though this time the killing of a beast had been in plain view of the Great Beast, and had obviously caught it's attention. It's actions now pointed to her role and betrayed her as mother of these vile things, as with an ear piercing shriek, a wale of sorrow and rage, she turned her attention to Ishi, her mouth coming down at the same speed as before, her teeth aiming for him, her goal was clearly to swallow him whole after what he had done to her spawn.
Amarante
The twisted mother may have been half-blinded when she swung for Ishi, but Amarante's landing poorly coincided with her maneuver to try and swallow Ishi whole. Though Amarante did not seem to be in the direct line of attack, she'd certainly feel the ground shake as that great muzzle slammed into the ground, regardless of whether or not the beast was successful in swallowing Ishi.
It's children so far dead, it seemed the target that remained was the mother herself, and a beast of her size was going to be no easy task, the four shinobi would need every advantage they could gain, wounds or no. This beast was in a rage and ready to feast. Her body extended from the water, she had no wings, her arms too small for any kind of grappling, her scales glittering with water as it flowed from them. She was pissed, her scales were akin to armor, and she was ready.

Rushing out the cave wile supporting Jinsei the medic felt the ground shake, "Shit! We have to see what this is! Jinsei, hows your eye?" She would ask as she could still feel the effect of the poison, she wasn't sure whether or not the she had managed to get it all out but for now she seemed rather okay, except for feeling light headed. Of all the things it had to be poison, damn! I need to lear- We don't have time for that! Amaya rushed out the cave first as she wanted to see if it was safe for Jinsei to run out, she had no clue what it would do to his eye so for now she could focus on being his eyes.
She couldn't believe what she saw, it was a giant lizard monster, way bigger than the one they fought. What the hell is THAT!. . . The mother? From the looks of it she seems to be a bit slower than her children Amaya looked over to see if Amarante was okay and fortunately she was, it seemed that for now only she and Jinsei managed to get wounded. So much for being the "cool" leader. . . She snapped out of it and whistled, at first this would seem like a call for attention. What the monster and her allies didn't know was that Amaya did really come prepared this time.
Rushing out of the bushes came a wild savaged beast dash out towards Amaya and Jinsei, it was then that she noticed that the Great Beast prepared to attack Ishi. Without realizing it Amaya was already dashing towards Ishi, although she had a gut feeling that she wouldn't be fast enough to make it. Fortunately Wana was closer to Ishi than Amaya was. "Wana! Get Ishi!" She hand signed for the hyena to attack Ishi, this wasn't to wound him but to save him from being crushed. The heyna would come at such great speed that once it jumped to bite Ishi in the arm she would tackle him and her out of the way. Meanwhile Amaya didn't stop running as she saw that Amarante landed next to Ishi's location. NO! Damn it!
She closed her eyes as she leaped in the air, "WATCH OUT!". If Amaya managed to save Amarante and Wana managed to save Ishi then they where going to rise up and face some what would most likely be called a boss battle. "Are you okay? If so, then are you ready?" Amaya quickly realized that Wana would still be biting Ishi so she snapped her finger as loud as possible to let Wana know that she wasn't allowed to bite her comrade but at the same time could cause the monster to turn her attention to the female ninjas.
[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
If Ishi hadn't caught the girl ordering the hyena, he'd have killed it as a hostile. Instead, as it chomped down on his shoulder--his powerful muscles resisting the force of her jaws, stopping her from doing much more than breaking his skin--he gave his shoulder a flick and sent the dog to the ground as the two got out of the lizard's way.
Ishi still held two kunai, and the creature had just shoved its face into the ground. He decided it was time to go on the offensive. He would run forward, and jump at the last possible second to land on the animals face. He would aim to dig one of his weapons into the beasts's massive eyeball, while the second would shove its way between scales and basically be a makeshift handhold for him as he did as much damage to the thing's eye as possible.
Assuming he could land on its face, of course.

[Graded][Mission] Across these waters
As Jinseie stepped into the light outside the cave and surveyed what had happened whilst he was inside, a small look came over his face that could oddly be described as peaceful while at the same time he looked about as in pain as someone could expect, what with having an entire eye engulfed in the kind of horrible pain that refuses to be numbed by dull nerves, and on the most sensitive part of the human anatomy for that. His eye was bathing in the purest kind of acidic pain and his vision was compromised; Even if he'd wanted to rush headlong into combat without a plan, he would end up dead or eaten before he could do more than wobble ineffectually. The only solution, then, was to fight at range but without his Ninjutsu techniques he had nothing on hand that would do more than prick the creature like pile of pillows.
That would have been true for just about anyone else. That would have signaled a harsh choice for just about any other single Shinobi at his level in Iwagakure.
Reaching behind his back and grabbing up his hammer from behind his back, Jinseie hefted it hard as his wakizashi disappeared under his waist cover and was sheathed. Turning abruptly back to the cave, Jinseie lifted the hammer high and with all of the pain-infused strength he had to back it, he smashed the hammer down on the stone of the cave with the sole intention of breaking off the largest chunk he possibly could. Then another and another, quite literally smashing the entrance of the cave as quickly apart as he could.
The hard stone of the cave was smooth and resisted the hammer at first, but Jinseie was not only a ninja, but he had worked as something of a mason for a time; He knew where to strike and when he did, the chips of stone turned into chunks, starting at fist sized and growing until Jinseie had managed to rip out a fair few rather hefty pieces of stone from the cave. The pain in his eye didn't help, but at least it was hard to miss rock at this distance.
Tucking his hammer back into it's straps on his back, Jinseie grabbed up the two largest, easily ported chunks he could which were both quite easily two feet in diameter and with his strength he only strained lightly as he hefted them towards shore. Then he dropped one down and grabbed the other in both hands, twisting his body into the ground and then performing a rather impressive display of form by spinning his body around once, then twice for extra torque.
Then Jinseie launched the cannonball of rock directly at the massive creature, his eye leaking fluids now as he slammed it shut to stop it from distracting his accuracy or depth. The rock would soar and sail, light whistling behind it as it drove towards it's target and Jinseie knelt down to pick up the second projectile, digging his heel in.
He was Jinseie Zoukane and if he wanted to throw rocks at a giant lizard in a lake, his chakra was not going to stop him. Nothing was going to stop him.
