Team Senkou's First Meeting

Kaze walked to the sparring gym, his head low, and in a terrible mood. Supposedly he was headed there to meet his newly assigned sensei, a jounin who was supposed to be one of Konoha's "Guardians". The coronation of the new Hokage, his old sensei Tousha Umezawa, went well. And after it Ryuuki, Magma, and him had gone out for a party. Back then he was proud to have been a student of the Hokage. Now, he was sad. He honestly missed Tousha-sensei, who would admit to it though? The guy was a nutshell, but he was a good ninja to fight alongside. Kazu stopped walking long enough to take a look at the Hokage's Tower where, no doubt, Tousha was now living. "Sensei..." he muttered in a sorrowful tone. Thunder and lighting flashed through the clouds above. Rain poured dreadfully on him now, he pulled the collar of his jacket tighter around his neck and ran at a regular pace, not in the mood for a full speed rush. The gym wasn't far, and as he approached he saw another person ahead, a guy who was already there, just far enough in the entrance to not get wet. He stopped dead at the sight. In his sadness he squinted into the heavy rain, hoping slightly it might have been someone he knew. Magma? Ryuuki? he wished silently. He walked forward to get a better look, still hoping it might be one of his teammates.

Rain was pouring heavily as lighting flash and thunder boomed. Magma was sitting by the gym door, under the roof so he wouldn't get wet from the rain. Ahead of him, he could see someone running in the rain heading towards him. He raised an eyebrow as the person stopped and then walked. Must be Kazu, he thought. He turned his head to look at the Hokage's tower where Toshua-sensei was probably staying. He groaned a little as the weather got colder from the rain. Why was it raining in the first place. It's summer. Magma shook his head and waved to who he thought was Kazu.

Ryuuki walked happily down down the street towards the meeting place. It was raining cats and dogs, so to say. But that didn't bother him one bit. Nu-uh. He was wearing a white tank top with camo shorts. His ninja tools were all in their regular places, situated on his body, as normal. With his outfit, however, he wore a pair of sandals, which didn't seem appropriate for the weather in retro-spect.

The thing that let him walk around so happily, un-bothered by the rain, was his shadow ninjutsu. He walked around with his arm pointed up, his shadow wrapped around it with a large black umbrella-like top protruding from it. This kept him dry, and comfortable. He laughed to himself, imagining how his friends would show up soaked while he was perfectly dry. He whistled a song to himself, slightly out of tune, as he walked.

Eventually Ryuuki reached the gym, and saw his two friends near the entrance to the gym. Magma looked pretty dry, only wet here and there, while Kazu looked like he;d gone through the washer! "Hahaha~ Kazu, I hope you've got something to change into! I doubt any training will be much fun when you're wet like that." Once Ryuuki got under the roof he released his jutsu, and his shadow returned to its place. "So, where's this new guy?"

Senkou was dozing in an over hang on the top of the building, having already given Mami his "order" for the day. By that, Mami devised a extremely funny plan to screw with the genin. The sphinx spirit would pose as the "instructor" for the lesson, giving the kids the fright of their life. Senkou was smiling at the thought. It is just sad that they had to have me as their trainer after Tousha. Senkou chuckled at that thought. Tousha was even more crazy than he was, though that is kind of hard to tell. There are all kinds of crazy out there.

As the genin arrived inside the building, Mami appeared in a flash of light in front of them. Hello, my name is Senkou, your new sensei Mami thought at the genin, laughing mentally to himself. Thinking this was his greatest prank ever, Mami continued informing the genin what this "meeting" was all about. You will have a few minutes to get ready, we are starting to train TODAY! he finished his thought with a shout. Before any of the genin could do or say anything, he vanished out of the door. Whenever you are ready, go out this door to the training field.

While the genin were talking, Mami was talking to Senkou about the genin. "Do you think they are still clueless?" Senkou asked his lifelong companion. I sure hope not, I am just getting started.

Kaze was immediately shocked on sight of the Sphinx standing before him and his friends. He quickly took a combat stance, but as he did so the sound of the sphinx's voice came through clearly into his mind. Senkou? There's no way that's the 'Guardian' I heard about! Is this Sphinx really our sensei? The genin was strongly doubtful of what this thing was saying. Might as well play along though right? As it disappeared he turned to the other two. "Hey, Magma, Ryuuki. Do you guys believe that thing? Is that really our new Sensei? Awai, Senkou? One of Konoha's 'Guardians'?" With his thoughts voiced he walked through the door, waiting for them to catch up and for them to answer.

"No way." Ryuuki quickly replied. "That guy was boring. No way near as good as cool as Tousha's Twilight. But, oh well. Hopefully Senkou will show up soon enough and we can do something interesting." Ryuuki wasn't very optimistic about it. He was never into sphinxes that much. He was more of a dog person than a cat person to begin with. Besides, even though Ryuuki had ADHD, ADD, and wasn't the smartest around, he wasn't THAT gullible that he'd believe his new sensei was a floating sphinx. "Well, I say we head on through."

Magma looked at the sphinx with a pissed off face. Why did it seem like he knew him? Magma thought of any time he may have met a cat to see if he'd ever seen this one. He could recall but something told him to hate this cat. "This isn't or sensei. It can't be a tiny cat." Magma looked around to see whether or not he could find his sensei or not, but all he saw was the sphinx. One cat in the center of the room kept his attention. Me...........and this cat will not get along........ he thought. His eye twitched as he stared at it.

Senkou smiled as he heard what the genin thought of Mami. "Looks like they don't believe you," he said to Mami. They will pay for this Mami said I am no mere cat, AND I AM WAY BETTER THAN TWILIGHT! Mami stalked around the roof angrily. "Well, what are you waiting for? Go down there and show them who's boss," Senkou told him, starting to doze off again.

With an affirmative nod, Mami jumped down from the building onto the center of the training field. I can't wait for them to see what I have in store for them in "training" Mami thought with a chuckle.

The genin wasn't the least bit surprised to see the Sphinx again. It had left quickly earlier, why wouldn't it show up just as quickly as it had left? With a sigh, Kaze looked at it with lazy eyes. He'd have to try not to think about Tousha at the moment, training with the new "Sensei" was about to begin. "Alright 'Senkou', what will we be doing first?" He didn't really believe it, and he added emphasis on the name as if it were a venom he was spitting just to show he didn't believe the Sphinx.
