Fall In Line (The New Genin Team)

[Idiot Proof]

Today was the first actual meeting of Minoru's first Ninja squad. He hadn't gotten much information. He was simply told to report to one of the training fields of the village. He did so quickly, and with a hidden eagerness. All was clear and bright today, Minoru was greeted with a light gust of wind as he arrived, though he looked around a bit puzzled, with no one else in sight.

He crossed his arms and took a seat in the grass, examining the situation, perhaps a little more than he should have. Running his fingers through his hair, he let out a sigh, as he closed his eyes and fell to the ground, opening them once more to glace into the sky. Minoru seemed to mutter something under his breath as he gazed cloudless sky, letting out a small yawn as he sat himself up, "Hm... "

Sin was laughing to herself as she hurried toward the place where she was told to meet her first genin team. She had arrived ahead of time to set up her first prank, and boy, was it gonna be funny when it worked. In her mind, she was already watching her team fall for it, and it made her smile widen even more. A small part of her brain, in the very, very back of her mind, decided to ask What will the sensei say? But geez, she didn't care what her sensei said. A prank is a prank, and if she got in trouble, oh well!

"Oh, good! You're a guy!" she exclaimed as she finally reached the meeting place. Before any further conversation, she plopped down beside the person already there, lying on her back and stretching out on the grass. "I was worried you were gonna be a girl!" She raised her head and glanced over at him, contemplating how he'd react to her prank. He didn't seem that bad...

Kai rolled over, falling off his bed. He jumped up, startled, and looked around. He picked up his clock. It was 8:05 AM. 'Ah, shit. I'm late.' Kai thought, tripping over his cluttered room and getting to his closet. He grabbed his favorite shirt and pants, and began to dress. As he dressed, he thought alot about what his team would be like. 'Here's hoping...'

Kai walked out of his apartment casually, waving to his neighbors as they picked up their papers. He picked his up at his mailbox, and read it down the stairwell. 'Nothing in the news today, it seems.' Kai thought. "Oh god. They are gonna be pissed..." he said aloud, walking out the door. As he ran through the village, he couldn't stop thinking about the team. 'This is gonna be fun...' Kai thought, as he left the village and entered the edge of the field. He saw his Genin in the distance, and walked towards them slowly. He gripped his book, and walked up to them, with a cheerful, "Hello!"

Minoru's eyes turned to a voice from his side. He blinked for a moment before it hit him, he turned away and thought to himself, analyzing the situation further 'Oh, Lady Luck sure is a harsh woman...' He thought as he lightly covered his head, as protection for what ever hellish prank was in store for him. Whipping his head around, he nodded, "Hm, well I guess you're in luck then." He replied, followed by a long dry yawn. After his yawn he thought it would be proper to give a full introduction.

Though, his yawn was cut short by the introduction of his Sensei. As a sign of respect, he quickly got to his feet and bowed. As he came back up he put his index and middle fingers up against his forehead in somewhat of a salute, "Good day, I would assume that you're are Sensei." He said as he broke away from his salute, "Though you may already know, I am Hyuuga Minoru. Genin." He said with a bit of confidence in his voice.

Sin raised a brow as she looked at the man that just arrived. She sat up, but other than that, didn't really move. "Thank God you're a guy, too!" she said, grinning again. "You're right, Minoru, I am in luck today! No weak, useless girls in sight! We can train hard, prank harder, and not worry about some idiot kunoichi's crush on you or some other genin! God forbid we get stuck with a girl who decides to crush on our sensei!" She made a face that stated, quite plainly, 'Yuck!'

She leapt to her feet and adjusted the goggles on her head. "Hey, Minoru, how much do you like eggs?" She threw two kunai at the tree branch her new teammate was standing under, her aim to jar the branch enough for her prank to begin. And it worked, to an extent. The three eggs she had stashed up there rolled off in a direct line for Minoru's head, as planned. It was perfect that both the sensei and Minoru had stood in the exact spot she'd set up for the trap. Almost too lucky to go by unnoticed. She turned to the newcomer, seemingly unconcerned with the prank's end. "Hi! I'm Hokkaido Sinoko! Are you usually this late for things?"

Kai looked at Minoru. Kai had heard of him, but didn't want to let it show. "Nope, never heard of you." He said, with a small smile. 'She talks alot.' he thought, as Sin explained herself. 'Doesn't like boys? I like that. +2.' Kai pulled out his little black book, and wrote down Sin's name and a Two beside it.

'And he's cocky. I like that too.'He wrote down Minoru's name under it, and a Two beside it. He put his little book back and turned over to Sin. "I'm late for all kind of things. Now what did you those kunai at, little missy?" Kai asked, with a tone of impatience in his voice. 'Hope there are eggs involved.' Kai thought, as a devilish grin crept to his face.

Minoru let out a confused growl with the question, "Do you like eggs?" He seemed to miss the fact that she shot a Kunai into a tree. He turned back to his Sensei as he began to speak, drooping down a bit, over the fact that he thought his new Sensei had never heard of him. Though he let out a small chuckle at how casual he was about being late, still unaware of his oncoming doom.

The thought of what was going to go down at this training field ran through Minoru's mind, though just as he was about to make mention of it, the word Kunai had left his Sensei's mouth, and from above came an eggs, that smashed and plashed down into Minrou's hair, as he foolishly lowered his hands. With a small bang his hair exploded, with locks flying out like the wings of an archangel before they all came crashing down to the side of his head, the undone locks going down to his neck.

Minoru's gaze turned to the side, "Oh how luck has forsaken me, and the bird who lost their unborn chick." He said in a rather clam tone, which was to be unexpected. Minoru took great pride in his hair, and having it ruined in an instant, would appear to be a hard blow. Though Minoru simply calmed himself by blaming everything on fate, and luck. If it was meant to happen, it was meant to happen.

"So, do you have anything planed for us Sensei?" He calmly questioned as he tried to remove the bits of egg from his hair, picking out the shell, and brushing aside the yolk and white.

Sin covered her mouth with her hands, turning away from the jounin and Minoru to hide her laughter. When she could control herself better, she turned back and put her hands behind her back, rocking back and forth on her heels in a completely 'innocent little girl' kind of way. "Gee, Minoru-kun," she said in a singsong voice, tilting her head to the side. "You seem to be really unlucky today, neh? Well... luckier than I thought, because only one of 'em actually hit you, as opposed to the three I put up there..."

She smiled one last time and turned to the jounin, her stance faltering and her grin fading. "So... what'll it be, sensei? A couple laps around the field? Extra hour of training? A huuuuge lecture about 'behaving properly'? I can take any punishment you can think up!" She grinned again brightly. "I've probably already done it a few times before!"

She glanced over at her teammate again, her face carefully neutral. He looked hilarious with the egg in his always-perfect hair, and she was so proud to have been the only one to currently mess that up. It was certainly worth any punishment she got. But his lack of a more... explosive reaction was disappointing. She ruined his hair! He should be going up in flames at the crime! He hadn't always been such a level-headed guy, had he? She couldn't remember him in the academy all that well, for some reason... She finally sighed hugely, turned toward him, and put her hands on her hips. "You're so disappointing, Minoru! You didn't even react right!!" she grumbled.

Kai stood there, watching everything unfold. He had two eggs in his hand behind him, but he would rather not ruin Sin's fun. "Well little missy, you don't have any punishment. I like eggs." he said as he put the other two eggs in his pouch, 'Supper... he thought.

"And you, the Hyuuga... Great job, I'm proud of you. Controlling your emotions in stressful situations is very admirable." he said to Minoru, pulling his book yet again. Beside Sin's name was now a 4, and Minoru's a 5. "And you wanna do something?" Kai asked, puzzled. "Well I never planned anything... What do you guys wanna do?" Kia sat down in the field, waiting for his Genin, waiting for their suggestions.

Minoru had continued to remove the bits of egg from his hair. He let out a small sigh. He shook his head a bit get the last bit of egg out. He turned his attention to Sin, with a blank stare as he went through the task of styling his hair back the way it should have been, "Doesn't the joy come from the action, and not the reaction?" He questioned, moving from under the in tree just in case another of the last two eggs came down. Though he was somewhat relieved as his sensei seemed to have him in his own possession.

Minoru scratched his head for a moment, he wasn't fully aware of how this went down. Though there were plenty of ninja in his family, and he had been briefed on the possibilities of his first meeting with his sensei. With the words of encouragement from his sensei, he simply shrugged "Well, there's no pointing in getting mad at fate." He calmly replied.

Minoru tilted his head back, "Well. Isn't there usually a test of some to start these off?" He questioned. "Like, we have have an a certain amount of time, to land a hit on you, or find you." He thought out loud, based on what some of his cousins and such had told him in the past.

Sin sighed impatiently, crossing her arms and frowning. "You know perfectly well that I find great joy in both the action and the reaction. The action amuses me, but the reaction makes any punishment totally worth it. And you didn't give me the reaction I wanted." She shrugged and uncrossed her arms, seeming bored for the first time in who knew how long.

At Minoru's question about some test, she looked up sharply and her eyes widened. "My brothers said that if you don't pass the test your sensei gives you after you meet your team, you have to go back to the academy," she said worriedly, fiddling with the forehead protector around her waist. "I'm not saying I want it to be easy or anything, but I don't wanna have to go back either, you know?" She glanced over at her new teacher and frowned, tilting her head somewhat to the right. "Hey Sensei, we told you our names, aren't you gonna tell us yours? Because, you know, we do have names that aren't 'little missy' or 'the Hyuuga'."

Kai looked at the two, as they gave their own ideas. "Well, Minoru, there is a test. You are a Hyuuga, and I have no doubt you will succeed. And you, Sin. You... amuse me. I like you. But yeah, I was just gonna skip that whole test thing, it seemed so boring... But then I thought, hmm, I could make a really hard test. So I did. You two have 5 minutes to hide. Then I'm going to find you. When I find you, I will place you with 100 meters of that place. Then I will give you more instructions. Go." Kai said, smiling. He laid down in the grass, waiting for the Genin to run away. 'They aren't gonna like this.' he thought.

He sat up, and yelled, "My name is Kai, by the way. Kai Kyu."
