Quote:Seiken looked over the scrolls with an intense gaze. Hitsoshirezu Hakagaisha was a Konohagakure-specific Ninjutsu that could make some of his missions quite easy, especially when silent attacks are needed. However, Seiken faced a rather daunting task ahead of him. This jutsu certainly wasn't easy; Seiken's chakra control would have to be on-point for him to pull this off. Not only that, but considering the nature of the attack, he'd have to move quick, or else it would be worthless. Seiken looked at the automated flamethrower he had set up: 10 foot proximity sensor tags, 10 foot flame jets... and five very small shut-off triggers for him to hit that reset after three seconds. The shut-off mechanism is what he was aiming for (obviously) and he'd have to be very careful if he didn't want to end up roasted like a Thanksgiving turkey.*Hitsoshirezu Hakagaisha
B-rank Ninjutsu
A ninjutsu utilized by the sneakier of the Hidden Leaf Village ninja, this technique can be very useful for killing quickly and silently. The primary requirement however, is not being noticed. So long as they are hidden from view they can do it. The ninja will simply throw a multitude of chakra coated leaves into the area surrounding their target. The chakra will cause the leaves to rapidly multiply, creating a cloud of leaves. The ninjutsu user can simply jump into the cloud and grab many leaves, which will cause those leaves to get as sharp as a kunai. Allowing them to use it to assassinate the opponent or throw a barrage of leaf kunai.
Seiken started molding his chakra and grabbed a few leaves. He slowly channeled his chakra into the leaves trying to get a feel for it:
"Hitsoshirezu Hakagaisha!"
The leaves rushed up around the flamethrower and Seiken was right by the first shut-off trigger. Quickly he threw two leaves, which hit their marks, but as soon as he went for the third, he had to duck a rather quick jet of flame from the flamethrower. Cursing, he dove back into the cover of the trees. Two triggers; nowhere near good enough. Seiken thought it might be problems with his chakra control. The scroll described a great cloud of green surrounding the opponent, sharp leaves cutting from every direction. He thought back on his first execution of the technique, and what he had done could barely be called an autumn breeze, let alone a great storm of leaves. Seiken sat down and focused his chakra once more, molding it more slowly this time. He wanted to be absolutely sure he had the feel for where and how the chakra should flow. After two minutes he got to his feet:
"Hitsoshirezu Hakagaisha!"
Once again, the leaves on the ground rose up, more densely this time. Seiken was right by the flamethrower once again, hitting it from a different angle this time. Two leaves were thrown and two triggers were hit. Seiken grabbed three more and made to hit the other three triggers, but only one hit its mark as the dangerous flame jets lashed out once more. Seiken jumped back as the flaming leaves flowed away and turned to ash. Three triggers was an improvement, but not by much. He thought about how he executed the technique; the wall of leaves was certainly thicker, but still nowhere near what it should be. Once again Seiken went back to checking his control, but then hesitated. Although Seiken wasn't one to assume things, he was relatively certain that his chakra control was good enough for the technique. What was he missing?
Another quick survey of the scrolls led him to another possibility: speed. The problem may just be that he wasn't executing the techinque fast enough; control might not have anything to do with it. Seiken was a bit stumped as to what else he could try, so he decided to try it. What did he have to lose? He molded his chakra much more quickly this time, trying not to over think it and let his instinct take command.
"Hitsoshirezu Hakagaisha!"
The leaves rose from the ground with a vengeance. Now THIS was more like the scrolls description; a great torrent of green surrounded the besieged training post. Seiken moved even more quickly, hitting the first two triggers without a moment's thought. Another two went down as well, but the flamethrower protected the final trigger with a well timed flame jet. Seiken retreated once more and assessed his progress. Four triggers! Seiken couldn't help but get a bit exhilarated as he drew closer to learning this technique. He took a few deep breaths and settled down, knowing very well that letting his excitement get the best of him could result in some serious issues.
He sat down and rested a bit, then focused himself once more. Seiken focused his chakra even more quickly than before; if a Hyuuga clan member were watching with the Byakugan would have seen nothing more than a storm of chakra moving through the leaves as Seiken flowed his energies into them:
"Hitsoshirezu Hakagaisha!"
Almost instantly, a great storm of green leaves rose up from the ground and surrounded the flamethrower. Seiken's actions were guided by his instinct now as two triggers were struck without a second glance. The third and fourth trigger were taken care of just as swiftly, and Seiken effortlessly flicked a chakra enforced leaf at the final trigger, striking the switch dead center. This flamethrower wouldn't be turning on for quite some time. Seiken smiled in relief; it wasn't easy, but all his training finally paid off as he marked another "must learn" technique off his checklist.
