[Closed] A Favor

It seemed like years ago that Saigo and Tenzin went to the enemy lines for a failed attempt to distract the enemy. Although it worked in splitting some of their forces, Suna still couldn't handle the might of Iwa and fell victim of their strength. Saigo was a well respected medic within the walls of Konoha and because Tenzin has hidden his medical capabilities, he wanted someone with his reputation to help him with a few things that needed to be put in motion.

However, with Tenzin's distraction of helping Ikinari and figuring out what to do with Fanho's reputation, the shinobi lost sight on something that was drilling through his mind for years and couldn't fully get past. When he was the commander it was top of his list, but since he has retired from the commander position, he has acquired a more freelance role and could act the way he wanted to with no regards for the weight a commander had. He could just do his missions on his own accord, which has been something the shinobi didn't realize he wanted until it finally happened.

All of that swirled in Tenzin's mind to the point where he had finally gotten to a place where he was ready to move forward with his own plans. The shinobi had requested assistance in a wing of the hospital that was sectioned off to high important recipients. The wing itself was crawling with Anbu Agents and Tenzin was in one of the rooms. From the door to Tenzin was a general hospital room, but behind him was a drape that hid a bed and someone who was laying in it.

The silver haired Bannin simply stood there waiting for Saigo to get through, it might be a hassle due to all of the checkpoints, but by the time Saigo would get through that and open the door he would see Tenzin standing there with his arms crossed. A smile would come across his face upon his arrive and the shinobi would simply mutter "Saigo! Nice to see you again, I had some tea made over there if you want some. I'm glad you could make it here on such short notice."

The hospital of Konoha. It was a haven of medicine, curing what ails people, and apparently hiding stuff of a medically related nature from one of the people in the village that was considered an expert in the field. While he wasn't aware of it yet, there was sneaky stuff happening in his hospital and he had been summoned to see someone about it. Clicking his tongue as he set aside a stack of paperwork he'd just finished, he said a few brief things to the administration people he'd been talking to about said paperwork before dismissing them. Once they filed out with their papers, the older man looked at the masked figure donned in ANBU's stable outfit scheme. Taking a breath in through his nose, he exhaled loudly through his mouth before walking towards the door and shooing the masked crony away. " Go on, out my office. I don't trust you to not take all my pens."

"Please follow me to the secure wing." The masked figure stated, not bothering to mention they'd already grabbed a pen that they saw by the door. Had Saigo known, he would have had choice words for the man in the form of calling them a bastard in one way or another. But that was neither here nor there as Saigo followed along, a few personnel greeting him with a smile or bow that he briefly returned in passing. As they reached their destination, the ANBU figured led the Doctor through the doors until a wing that was almost deathly quiet. As he walked through the hall, his footsteps tapped softly as he glanced at nearby ANBU members seemingly crawling all over the place. " We have a VIP and no one told me, someone needs a spanking."

As he reached a door, the guard outside gestured for him to enter. Reaching out, he took the knob to the room in hand, turning it before pushing the door in. Stepping in, Takamori Saigo made his appearance before Tenzin at last. Plain scrubs and a white coat covered his body while his hair was pulled back into a topknot. His glowing green eyes quickly flitted up and down the man's form before meeting his gaze. When they greeted Saigo, the older man reached up and rubbed the beard upon his chin. " Tea? Depends on the kind, I'm not a fan of matcha. And why, pray tell, is the secure wing crawling with a horrible infestation of ANBU operatives like we have a VIP I have yet to be told about? If this was an emergency I would have liked to let my staff know so we could prepare an Operating Room.... but I'm sure the reason for my summons will be made clear, no?"

Tenzin did his best attempt at a smile as he went over to the tea. "Well if you don't mind, I'm going to pour myself a cup." And that Tenzin did, the silver hair barely moved as he reached over to the warmed pot and he poured himself a cup of tea. With a sip, Tenzin would turn around face Saigo. The man was somewhat of a legend and at this point it probably was weird for both of them that this was the first and most interaction they have had. Even though they were teamed up to distract Iwa, they didn't have much to say to each other.

The shinobi shifted slightly, internally this was going to be a hard conversation depending on how cooperative Saigo was. With that in mind, Tenzin began to speak towards the Legendary Doctor. "Well there are actually two favors that are needed from you. One favor for me, and one favor for Konoha." The shinobi would take a sip from his tea and place it on the table before walking a little bit closer to Saigo.

With gentle steps, almost silent steps, Tenzin would reach into his pocket and take out two small items. One was an earing and the other was a smaller charm. "My favor is I need a long distance one way summoning space time jutsu engraved in these items. The charm would be the summoning tool and the earring would be the receiver. I need to get this set up for a mission I am setting out to do."

The shinobi would slowly move his hand holding the items towards Saigo. In hopes he would take it and get it set up for him later. "I can pick it up at a later time of course. Let's move on to Konoha's favor." After giving Saigo the items, Tenzin would walk over to the divider, and then turn towards Saigo. He would open the curtain/divider and reveal Fanho laying on his back. He was in his black clothing and even was wearing similar rings and glasses. If Saigo was to utilize Iijutsu to learn about the condition, he would find Fanho's organs appearing as brand new. Almost like he was just born.

Tenzin would begin talking to explain the situation as coded as possible. "Based on my analysis, Fanho has been placed in a chakra induced coma due to misuse tampering with Space/Time Jutsu and his Realm. As a respected Doctor and regarded as the best in the village. I would appreciate if you make this official. Notify Taiga of your findings and place Fanho in a secure location so that no normal person could get access to him." The shinobi stared at Saigo and waited for his response.

Watching the younger man for a moment, Saigo wondered what this was all about. Attention shifting, he gazed at the curtain that hid something away from sight. It couldn't have been a corpse, there wouldn't be a need for this much security for a dead man. The thought of using Mind's Eye to glimpse the source beyond the curtain hadn't escaped his mind but there was clearly a bit of theatre at work here, conducted by the hand of the man who was currently pouring himself a cup of tea. As the liquid filled their vessel, the smell of it wafted into the air and brought with it the pleasant aroma of a warm cup of tea. Saigo almost felt tempted to pour himself a cup, but he had never been especially big into tea himself. Still, the urge to sample it was there. Turning his eyes back to Tenzin, he watched as his fellow Bannin took a sip while returning to their conversation.

The mention of needing favors cause an eyebrow to raise, not out of suspicion but of curiosity. Not many asked him for favors, at least not on a personal level. It was an interesting experience for sure, to have someone turn to him for something. The favor for Konoha felt more like a day to day thing for him. The idea of doing something for his adopted homeland was nothing but a duty he found himself compelled to fulfill. Still, listening to that initially statement, Saigo shifted his white coat back and set his hands upon his hips. "A set of favors, eh? Do tell."

And tell Tenzin did. As the items were produced from Tenzin's pocket and the first favor explained, the Doctor tilted his head to one side as he examined the proffered items. Reaching out, Saigo plucked up one and then the other before turning them over in his hands. "I'm not especially adept at imparting things onto objects, but I know a few people who can help me make the groundwork for the desired result. Just let me know when I need to have this ready by." Saigo said, pocketing the items into his coat and watching Tenzin speak of the favor for Konoha.

The interested and almost light hearted Doctor dulled and went stone faced as the curtain was pulled back. Beyond was a face he was familiar with but hadn't had much direct interaction with. Stepping forward, Tenzin spoke as Saigo's approached the side of the comatose Kage. Reaching out, his hand placed itself upon the man's lower leg, an ashen grey chakra engulfing his hand as his eyes closed. His mind was filled quickly with all the medical statistics a medical practitioner could need before his eyes opened. "Space/time... it sounds less like a coma and more like some form of stasis holding his beyond in it's current state. Whatever it is seems to be preserving his vital organs and keeping him healthy... at least for now. I take it that, by make it official, you want me to pronounce his comatose condition in official record? If that's the case, this would require a new Kage to step in. Either way, I will need some time to perform a thorough examination and given his condition I can't say to what state his mind will be in upon waking. He seems to be receiving enough oxygen to his brain to keep it functioning properly but I can't tell if this state has left him aware or in any pain."

Removing his hand, the grey chakra faded away and Saigo's eyes turned to Tenzin once more. "When you say secure, what level of access is required to access him? I could place him somewhere complete remote and promptly seal the location from entry or exit without the proper means. Next question would be inside Konoha or hidden somewhere else? Those with access would be able to instantly get to him of course, but clarification on the specifications helps determine security measures required. If you want him stored at the hospital, then I have a place I could set up and seal with Space/Time to prevent anyone from entering without my aid."

Coming up next to the sleeping Fanho's body, Saigo stared down at the man's face. "And lastly.... what's the story behind this? How long has he persisted in this state and who else knows?"

As the two were going back in forth, Tenzin truly appreciated Saigo's loyalty to Konoha. He was used to Anbu where everyone would either ask no questions, or higher ups would ask too many questions. Saigo seemed to find the perfect middle ground. Just enough questions to ensure that he is successful in the task he is doing. As Saigo placed the trinkets in his pocket, Tenzin would give a slight head nod as he continued. When Saigo had better terminology for what Tenzin was explaining the silver hair would slightly move as he had nodded. When he asked about making it official, his question nailed it on the head of what Tenzin was asking of him. "Yes, that is correct." As Saigo talked about a new kage, Tenzin would speak up to that note. "Well, you would be reporting to the interim Kage, Taiga. You would give him the report and official medical records of Fanho's state current state."

The Bannin would fold his arms and continue to listen throughout Saigo's diagnosis of Fanho. Tenzin was extremely particular in how he spoke about the subject in order to give the hint to Saigo about how to tackle this situation. "Well as long as this body is given oxygen and nutrients, it will live on for as long as a life cycle should." A weird way of phrasing it, but Tenzin had to give hints... it was not really Fanho anyways, just a organic home grown clone.

When it came down to access, this situation had to be more secure than anything else. "This body shouldn't be available to the public. I would prefer for it to be locked up and away for everyone's sake." It had seemed that all of Tenzin's hints and clearly the body had struck enough question mark in Saigo's mind for him to ask what the real story is. Unfortunately, Tenzin couldn't tell him the full details. However, he would tell Saigo as much as he thought he could in the situation they were in. It was the least he could do. "The less you know the better. However, there has been a drastic situation out of our hands and this has been deemed the best solution." Tenzin would continue to look into Saigo's eyes to see how he would react to this. The shinobi was sure there were a million questions roaming through him. How would Saigo respond?

Confirmation was given and Saigo could only nod as he would need to start drudging up some forms and begin filling them out. Something felt off about the comatose man's vitals the longer Saigo ruminated upon them. His eyes flicking to the body of Fanho, the brow of the Doctor furrowing as it left a bad taste in his mouth. Then Tenzin stated something that made his eyes shift to the other Bannin. "Interesting wording there; as long as this body is given oxygen and nutrients..." The bad taste amplified before Saigo looked at Fanho one last time. Placing his hand upon the man's lower leg again, the telltale green of Iijutsu glowed about Saigo's hand as he focused his attention on the body once more. Removing his hand, a harumph noise resonated from his throat as he looked at Tenzin.

Hearing his younger counter-part speak upon the need to lock the body away and how plausible deniability was Saigo's best bet, he stayed his tongue from asking more questions on the matter. Sucking air in through his nostrils, he let out a loud sigh before talking over to the table where the kettle was and pouring himself a cup. "Give me a list of those who should have access and I can create a form of key to open the passage to the patient. I'll work with a few trusted fuuinjutsu specialists on creating a safe room and tell them it's for my iijutsu research. This will allow me to create a Space/Time seal that will only allow those with the 'key' entry and only a handful will probably be needed anyway if I'm to assume correctly. I'll oversee intake and care myself to keep issues to a minimum. The location will probably remain within the hospital but I will have one of the basement areas converted to keep by standards to a minimum as well."

As he finished pouring his tea, Saigo raised the cup to his lips and blew on it briefly before taking a sip. The taste still wasn't something he had embraced but at least he wasn't making a childish face of disgust or vocalizing his discontent over the beverage anymore. "How long should 'treatment' go on for? Months? Years? Indefinitely? What's the long term plan for this patient?" Saigo asked, turning to look at Tenzin as he was already mentally drafting a summary of his findings with the body but excluding a few things he had his suspicions on.
