Talkin' up the Hokage~

[Ace Trainer]

It was dusk, the sun setting in the distance cast beautiful colours across the sky. Yasunari could see them all out the window for the Hokage's office. He sat in the cozy seat, leaning back, sand floating behind him in a defensive sort of aura. If there was anyone the Ichibi hated, it was Tousha.

He laid back in the seat, thinking about what Tousha could possibly want with him. They had been sending Yasunari on a lot of training lately, maybe this was time he started a new training regime.

Tousha dipped his paintbrush into a smudge of red paint and dabbed at the canvas standing in front of him. Clad in his usual shinobi gear, a paint streaked apron that read "Kiss the Kage," and a black beret for artistic flair, the Hokage was slowly beginning to bring the sunset outside to life there in his own humble office.

"Maybe a touch of orange here... No. Definitely a little more magenta..." Tousha muttered to himself as he chewed on the end of his thumb, trying to get the creative juices flowing. Suddenly the Kage picked up an entire can of magenta paint and hurled it at the canvas, shattering its wooden frame and sending the entire structure crashing to the ground.

Tousha leaned down and tossed away a few of the wooden splinters littering his painting and then picked it up to place it on yet another wooden frame. "You'd think these things would be more sturdy. How does anyone get anything done with these flimsy tooth pick canvas holders?" he asked in a frustrated tone.

Once his sunset painting was securely fastened once more he turned around and noticed Yasunari sitting in his office. A confused look flickered across the Hokage's face before he asked, "Didn't I tell you to wipe your feet before you came in here? You know I hate sand."

Yasunari gave Tousha an inquisitive look, "The sand floats, Hokage-sama.", he said, not an ounce of respect in the "sama" part of his sentence. It floated closer to Yasunari, both Ichibi and the little jinchuurinki were feeling slightly defensive now.

"You called me in. I was just wonderin' what the occasion was. I don't mean to interrupt your painting...", he said.

[Toshi]

Tousha waved his hand nonchalantly in Yasunari's direction and said, "Don't feel bad. A lot of people interrupt me nowadays. "Oh Hokage-sama, my village's been invaded by marauders! I need someone to help me with my Missing Nin problem! Blah blah blah, it's so tiresome."

After saying this the Hokage untied his paint splattered apron and tossed it over a wooden coat rack before taking a seat across from the Jinchuuriki. "But I guess that's what I get for signing up for this gig in the first place, right? Anyway, about why you're here. I know you've been training your butt off lately so I'm here to make things a little easier for you. I'm going to assign you your own personal training buddy. A mentor, if you will. He's going to push you to your limits and then some." Tousha explained to the young shinobi in a serious tone.

"His name is Aburame Yasu; one of Konoha's Guardians and one of the more capable Jounin in the village." Then the Hokage shifted his eyes from one side of the room to the other, and then back to Yasunari. "I just don't know where he is. He was supposed to be here, like, fifteen minutes ago."

“Poop.”

Yasu zoomed through the village, making his bugs move as fast as they could. He had overslept, as always. He was supposed to meet up with the Hokage and Yasu today, officially becoming his mentor. Once again, his laziness got in the way.

Normally, Yasu wouldn’t care all that much, but he was a Guardian now, he had to be more responsible. This seemed to fuel him, causing him to push his bugs even faster. A little too fast…

Concentrating too much on actually getting there, Yasu didn’t realize when he did so. Painfully, he slammed straight into the Hokage’s building, right next to the windows even. Something told him his guardian position was starting to become open.

Ignoring the pain while quickly sending medical bugs to check for any injuries, Yasu slipped in through the Hokages window, ran to the door where he should have come in from, stood up straight, bowed, and spoke quickly.

“Very sorry I’m late, Hokage-sama”

As he spoke, a small drop of blood oozed down from his slightly broken nose that was now being mended by his bugs. With nice reflexes, Yasu caught it with his hand and put it away like it was nothing.

Yasunari looked at Tousha rather inquisitively as he ranted on, when he finally finished, announcing that Yasu would be Yasunari's mentor, protector, guardians, et cetera, Yasunari was only a slight bit stunned.

Well, that would explain why he had been running into Yasu so much. It hadn't been pure coincidence, Yasu had intentionally found his way to Yasunari so that he could figure out what this apprenticeship would be like. Interesting.

"That insolent filth is going to be training you? You're going to end up being even more shit than you are now...", the Ichibi cursed into Yasunari's ears.

"Yasu-senpai? Why him?", he asked curiously. Not meaning to sound rude.

[Toshi]

The Hokage shrugged as Yasunari asked him why he'd chosen the Aburame to help instruct him. "I'm confident that Yasu will not only help you reach your full potential, but I'll also be able to rest at night knowing that one of my most capable Guardians is keeping an eye on you. No offense, but I don't want a repeat of the raccoon-zilla fiasco on my hands."

A moment after the kage said this, Yasu burst through the door with a broken nose and an apologetic tone.

Tousha raised his hand towards the bleeding Jounin and said, "Ah, speak of the devil. Yasu, I'd like you to meet little Yasu. Your new pet project. I'm sure you're aware of our young friend's companion, and I have chosen you to help him with the task of taming it."

“Oh, Yasunari-chan, you’re already here. Told you I’d be seeing you again shortly!” Yasu smiled at the Jinchuriki before turning his attention to the Hokage, nodding at his comment. “It’s an honor to be chosen and a pleasure to mentor Yasunari-chan. Is this ok with you, Yasunari-chan?”

From the past few encounters, Yasu had been trying to sum up Yasunari’s acceptence. Yasu was hoping that Yasunari would enjoy this news, but from what he had gathered, it seemed he would be indifferent to it. As long as he didn’t dislike the news, that would be fine.

Yasunari didn't smile, the blank expression on his face, and the gloss across his eyes switched between the two before he nodded, "I suppose if I'm going to have one absolute jounin to lead me, Yasu is a good choice...", he trailed off. Trying to ignore the cackling in his ears. The Shukaku loved how the boy absolutely lacked resolve.

"Is that all? Or did you two have other things to tell me?"

[Toshi]

"Nope! That's pretty much all I had to say." Tousha said cheerfully with a cheesy grin plastered on his face. "You can go now. Both of you."

Yasunari nodded, "well, did you want to start now, Yasu-senpai?", he asked curiously, standing up to make his exit.

[Toshi]

Yasu smiled a fake smile. He was glad Yasunari wasn’t upset with the mentorship, but he had been hoping for some type of thankfulness. Hopefully, Yasu would be able to drill some emotion into this poor child.

Nodding at both the Hokage and Yasunari, Yasu spoke with a cheerful voice. “Thank you Hokage-sama, we’ll be going now.” Yasu beckoned to Yasunari, opening the door and waiting for Yasunari to pass so that he could go with him and close the door behind him.

“So, Yasunari-chan, seems we’re a team now. We had the choice of having a 3 genin team, but I didn’t think you’d very much enjoy that.”

Yasunari nodded at Yasu, and followed him out the door obediently

"You know he's only going to make it worse right?", the Ichibi started.

"You can't control me. Just like with your mom. You're going to end up trying to tame me, and falling completely to my control.", he continued.

Yasunari cringed.

"He's fucking filth, and you're going to follow his every command. This body, it can only hold me for so long. And then I'll come out, and I'll get your blood. And his blood. And your mothers blood. I'll get her blood everywhere."

Yasunari shook his head, "Yes, that'd probably be better.", he said to Yasu.

"And you're just going to let them let this happen. Fucking pathetic. Ahahaha.", the Ichibi finished, his laughter ringing in Yasunari's ears viciously.
