Konoha's hot springs were known for being some of the most inviting and soothing in the world. Stories were even made that some people had walked into them, only to leave cured of any ailments. Haidou had only one obvious flaw, and that was nothing some hot water could fix; whether this was a physical or mental flaw depended on who you asked. To many, he was a man to be avoided. He rarely laughed, or made any effort to filter his thoughts. He'd been called a bastard, harsh, and at times even sadistic. He never actually denied any of them. Today, he had been given another day off; that was what he called it, at least. From anyone else's perspective, he had been guided away from another mission for his insufferable lack of social skills.
"These springs smell like someone died in here. How the fuck do they call this sanitary? Hang some air fresheners, at least." The natural smell of the springs, while potent, was nothing next to the smell hanging off of Haidou himself; sweat and tobacco and smoke, all coming together to make something entirely offensive to the senses. He was even holding a lit cigar in one hand, though the moisture in the air was quickly dampening it. He transferred the cigar to his mouth, waddling towards the nearest group of water. He hardly even seemed to notice the two or three people already inside, merely giving them all a grunt as he sank into the steaming water.
A small grimace, and his cigar fell into the waters, ashes beginning to sink to the bottom of the water. He snatched the cigar itself from below, placing it behind him, and then closing his eyes.
"S-so, how is everyone today?"
"Fat, angry, and not at all in the mood to listen to you stumble over your words. You can shut up or you can get out, and frankly I couldn't care less which it is."
His eyes were closed, his head craned towards the sky, as he listened to the faint sloshing sound; he guessed that the man had left already. He smirked just a little at the thought.

What The Fuck Are You Looking At?
Seiken was feeling pretty good. This was mostly because of the fact that he got a day to himself, but that was neither here nor there; all he knew was that he was headed to his favorite hot spring.
As he got closer, though, he realized that it wasn't filled with the same bustling crowd. In fact, it seemed to be almost devoid of activity. He was about to ask the hostess about this oddity when his nose picked up on a pungent scent. It wasn't the worst thing Seiken had smelled, but it was pretty foul.
Not letting the new aroma deter his enjoyment, Seiken went into the locker room, emerging a few minutes later wrapped in a towel. As he opened the door to the spring, he noticed that it was indeed barren... save for one man. Considering his height and the thick sumo-like muscle he sported, it was apparent that he was of the Akimichi. He also had a rather snide grimace upon his face, as if he had it out for the world.
With a simple bow, Seiken stepped in and closed the door behind him, carefully stepping into the spring. He set his head back upon an extra towel and relaxed, letting the hot mineral-enriched water soak into his skin.

Haidou's eye opened to find that someone else had entered the hot springs. He was somewhat bemused that a person had actually stayed around, knowing he was here. It was almost enough to make him smile as he imagined what sort of idiot would still be lounging around. "Bowing? What is this, the Kage summit? Stop trying to flatter me." He grunted, shifting his gut around underwater, and then spitting onto the ground. "I'm not gonna bow for you, so I damn well won't expect you to bow for me."
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get his mind past the feeling that even now, he was being judged. He was being watched, being studied. For some reason, there was no alternative; this man was sent here to keep an eye on him, to watch his actions. The village didn't trust him; for some reason, this pissed him off even more, even if HE didn't rightfully trust himself sometimes. "Pretty peaceful, huh? Then again, I liked it a lot better before you got here." His every word dripped sarcasm, as he felt the water slide across him.

Seiken chuckled, finding the Akimichi's blatant disdain for his presence... oddly amusing. The jounin was used to seeing such characters who were rough around the edges, so this large fellow didn't really have anything that he hadn't seen already.
The Akimichi would soon find that the notion of Seiken being sent to observe him was also completely unsound; Seiken knew not an iota about the man other than he lacked certain social etiquette. "Well, I apologize that me being here is so unsoothing," he replied nonchalantly, "but this onsen is quite lovely. I visit here often, and it's become one of my favorites. I hope my presence doesn't cause too much trouble."
With a content grin, Seiken lay his head back down on the towel. Needless to say, things could get interesting.

"What concern is it of mine if you want to spend your time here? It's a free country." He waved a hand dismissively, every ounce of fat flapping about visibly. His brow was furrowed in deep concentration, as he tried to figure out who this was. He had by no means been the most well-known of people, and he was pretty out of the loop. This man was no one he recognized, and after a moment he had to begrudgingly admit that this was simple paranoia. He finally rose from the water, a puny towel wrapped around his waist for modesty. He walked towards him, sinking into the nearest onsen to this new arrival.
"Don't you have somewhere to be? You look like a grown man to me, unless I've gone blind. Grown men shouldn't be sitting in an onsen when there's shit that needs doing."
