[Mission] Lesson 1: What is Mokuton?

Mitsuru was summoned to the mission assignment hall of the Kage's office the previous night, later than usually done. A Jounin who had been working late requested his presence for his first lone mission. While most ninja dream of something extravagant such as hunting an S-rank missing ninja and make him beg for his life before bringing him back to the village for exicution, only to be assigned to some menial task that is slightly berating for a shinobi. In the Mitsuru's case, he had gotten off lucky. His first task would be requiring his skills as a ninja, if only minimally.

The Jounin was one from the Senju clan as well, and informed the genin that his assignment would take place the following day, at the home of their clan's leader. While the man was away, making better preparations to prevent further unwanted visitors, Mitsuru was assigned to teach the man's young son the secrets of Mokuton. The young man, even though only 8, had apparently shown promise well past his age and would be undergoing training to suppliment his lessons at the academy. For the first lesson, he wanted the boy to learn a simple jutsu that utilized Mokuton, nothigng specific, just the simplest thing for the boy to learn that his tutor could teach. And thus, when Mitsuru awoke this morning, he had until nightfall to teach the boy a Mokuton jutsu that he knew.

Mission Mission Mission Mission! Mitsuru leaped out of bed, massive grin plastered on his face. Today was his first ever mission and he was excited. Tightening his pants, he raced down the stairs not even muttering a goodbye to his dad as he almost broke the door on impact, sending it flying open.

He needed something easy to teach the kid, so he'd teach him the first Mokuton jutsu he ever learnt. The Shushi Senro no Jutsu. It wasn't the most exciting jutsu for a young child, but it was the basis of all Mokuton and it's really badass to track people around Konoha for fun.

Broken from his musing, he found himself outside the Senju leader's household. Knocking politely on the large oak door he waited patiently for a servant to open the door and welcome him in. Showing Mitsuru towards the junior's bedroom, he could not help but be awed at the decoration and care that was put into every inch of the house. He wanted to live in a house like this one day, no matter what.

As he entered the room, he looked over at the child and waved with a grin plastered on his face.

"Hi! I'm Senju Mitsuru, your new tutor!"

The child was sitting at a small desk, writing something that looked rather complicated. To anyone who was not versed in medicine, it would look like gibberish, but the child knew it was a series of formulas that would likely aid the village with a more powerful set of soldier pills. That aside however, the child gave a vacant glance at the new arrival and dismissed him going back to his work, something not expected of a child his age. The medical prodigy would not be an easy student, as is with the case of all students who automatically assume everyone is of lesser intellect than themselves.

The child worked a few more minutes, ignoring both his servant and his guest, before finally speaking without looking up from his desk.

My father would have you believe I need help in learning the menial Mokuton tricks his father had taught him. Such rubbish is below me, and you are free to leave at any time. I will inform my father that I have dismissed your services, and he need not spend further money for such a foolish endeavor.

Though only eight, the child spoke with the authority of someone who had been living five or six times as long. It would become obvious that, before teaching this child anything else, Mitsuru would have to first teach this child that he was worth more than a dismissal.
